Good morning everyfriend.  Here we are under several storm watches.  At this facility they have had drills to be sure generators work and make sure staff and clients know procedures.  I wish you all a great day.

Joan, it's good to see a post from you.  I thought of you when I read that Gulfport was under storm or hurricane watch.  Maybe you have more in Alabama than you did in Florida.

I've wondered about Phyllis and checked to see when her last post was - and it was the morning of the day I checked.  Only it didn't say where she had posted.  Anyway, Phyllis, Happy Birthday and may you have many more.  And please come back.

Hi Everyone.  It is a cloudy morning and a little bit ago we had a very brief rain.  There is a small chance of further rain today and a better chance of rain tomorrow.  I found out early this morning why my foot doctor prescribed some pain pills as one of my big toes started having very sharp and throbbing pains.  I was very slow getting started this morning but finally got my shower and medicated and put the dressings on my big toes.  It is going to be a quiet day as think the antibiotic I am taking for a week is leaving me more exhausted than normal.  Pat plans a quick trip to Aldi's this morning and I plan on resting and watching college football this afternoon and evening.  I am hopeful I will feel up to attending Church tomorrow as we are having a special guest organist.  He is the principle organist for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir but I won't make that decision until in the morning.

deAngel, sorry to hear of your fall.  You must have had a fainting spell.  Glad you were able to see your friends at your Homemakers group.  Sure glad your nephew was there and I bet you gave him a terrible scare. Glad you had a doctor check you out.

Happy Birthday Phyllis.

Callie, you had a good reason to be a Recliner Radish yesterday.  I think you may have sent your discombobulated day down my way as that is sort of the way I feel this morning. My wife's cousin ran a bed and breakfast in a big old house about a block from the beech at Rehoboth Beach.  She sold it a year or so ago and now lives in an assisted living place near her daughter in Virginia.  We went several weekend at the B&B when we lived in Maryland and always enjoyed it.  She ran the place for over 50 years and had many loyal return guests.

Jenny, a couple of days of discomfort with my feet is sure better than many days of pain from the ingrown toenail.  Glad to see that Mark is safely in his new home.  When does he begin his new job? Is Leadville taking down its welcoming sign permanently?  I remember visiting Leadville many years ago.

Mary Ann, are you aware that you can have your mail delivered to your door if you have your doctor sign the form indicating you are no longer able to get to your box?  We had this done for my folks years ago.

June, years ago I had just one edge of my left big toe nail removed and it wasn't suppose to grow back but it did.  I do remember that as being a bit painful.

Amy, sometimes a putzing day is just what is called for.

Hal, I think you did a pretty good job of explaining salty.

Gloria, I think Google must have made some changes to their browser that caused the problem.  I think I finally got things back to normal.  I am having Velcro problems with the walking boots they gave me at the Podiatrist as there are Velcro straps everywhere and it seems to stick everywhere but where I want it to be.

Jane, it sounds like you have a busy Saturday planned.

Joan, glad your facility is taking no chances and have checked the generators as know you are dependent on that oxygen.  I sure hope you don't lose power.

Jeanne Lee, I went to the Member List and found Phyllis had last posted Oct 3 at 7:56 am but it doesn't tell where.  In her July post, she didn't say anything about leaving, being ill or anything like that.

It's a beautiful sunny day in central Oklahoma.   Not even any wind, Larry.
We had rented a car for our stay in D.C. and wanted to do a Day Trip out from the city.  Since the boys had seen the Pacific and the Gulf of Mexico,  driving over to an Atlantic beach was a perfect way to let them dip their toes in that ocean.  We very much enjoyed seeing Annapolis and the countryside between D.C. and Rehoboth.  As I recall, we stopped at a grocery store and bought things for a picnic lunch at the beach.
Great trip in every way.

While eating breakfast, I watched a bright orange butterfly land on the hummingbird feeder. It went away when a hummer came to feed but came back when the bird left.
The other side of town is in the migration path for Monarchs but I've only seen a stray or two here.  However, I do notice a lot of other butterflies around this time of year so migration must be in progress for several varieties.

The Laundry Leprechaun filled all 3 compartments in my laundry cart.  Naughty Imp!!!!  So taking care of that is my Project du Jour.

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

A good Saturday morning HELLO to all.

LLOYD, I do hope you were able to get back to sleep after your middle of the night post!

JOAN, I have been watching the reports of Hurricane Nate from Orange Beach this morning.  I see it is now a cat 2 storm.  My prayers for your safety as he comes on shore.

GLORIA, glad you are beginning to get the hang of that Velcro apparatus!  I picked it up on FaceBook that it was Phyllis’ bday.  I do hope she is OK and able to come in and join us soon.

LARRY, I sure assumed you would have pain with the removal of your big toenails!  Hope it is not too much of a discomfort for you.  I forgot to mention your SIL’s accident.  I sure hope she will be able to make the trip to visit you and Pat.  Mark starts his new job assignment on the 13th.  Yes, they are permanently removing the welcome to Leadville sign to build what I heard is to be affordable housing.   Endless to say!MANY are quite upset over this.  They plan to make another welcome sign somewhere, but expect it to be a much smaller version.

HAL, I think you did a fine job of explaining your thoughts on “salty”!
I thought of you last night as Bob and I enjoyed our meal at TX Roadhouse.  My goodness that place is quite something!  The food is very tasty and of course they give you WAY TOO MUCH of it.  I was nearly stuck in booth, as I certainly ate way too much and even brought home over half of my chicken fried chicken!

CALLIE, now I understand the plan you had for your son and the other man being there at the same time!😻 All we have heard here is the Leadville welcome sign land has been sold to a developer that plans to build “affordable” housing!

Snow is in our forecast so we will be moving all the patio furniture into the garage......😤😪.... I am NOT ready for winter!  We have all of these beautiful painted lady butterflies that have stopped here on their way south and I am afraid if they do not move on today that they will meet their demise!  There are so many of them migrating south they have shown up on the radar looking like a mass of birds or the like....it has been quite the news story around here.

I am off to get something done.

Enjoy your day, EVERYFRIEND,

Jenny

I made my "Apple Whatever-it-is" and it's delicious.  I'm taking one over to Cathy and Craig to have for dessert....and breakfast....and lunch...and whatever.  And aside from having to peel and slice apples with a dog pitifully begging behind me, it was very easy to do.  I'll put some in the hidey hole for anyone who wants to try it.

Good morning everyone.
Just got back from taking spare dog over home, he was so good last night you wouldn't know he was in the house. Will bring him back over later to stay the  night again.

Raining here and it thundered during the night,  doesn't look as though we will see the sun today.

Hal, my putzing and traveling yesterday  was fun ,even managed to get all the blocks together for a camp quilt.

Larry, I hope your toes feel a lot better today.

Jane, I enjoyed your Apple What-Ever It Is...you can do that again for the hidey hole please.

Joan it is so good to see you posting...dear lady you have been missed so much..

A lot of Canadians will hold their Thanksgiving today, we are having a quiet one here .All the kids are scattered. Son is in SC with temps of 90° and said he is going to BBQ today. ..

Better go get myself ready for the day..

Enjoy your day everyone.

Good Morning Everyone!

No rain here, just lots of cloudy skies and thankfully some cooler temps.  You folks up in the North and East are in for some rainy weather for the next few days.  And some much cooler temps so our weather guessers tell us.

Happy Thanksgiving Amy.  One thing I remember about my days in Canada was the bank holidays in summertime to give folks some time off when the weather was "suppose" to be nice.  I remember on summer that it seemed to rain every weekend and holiday that summer.

Got to get myself in gear and get ready for church.

Everyone have a great day.

Thank you so much to all of you who say you have missed me.  I have checked in here a few times but haven't had anything to say.  I haven't been physically unwell but just haven't been in a "good place" for awhile and I didn't want to whine about it particularly since some of you meet bigger problems than I do and always with a cheerful attitude.  I have missed all of you, too, and have felt bad when things have not gone well for you.  I was so relieved to see you posting, Joan, and know that you are improving.  I have my fingers crossed that Hurricane Nate will not give your area too much of a problem.  See if you can transport some of the rain up here to NC. We are really dry.  My newly seeded lawn is already dying.   :(

Thank you for the birthday wishes.  It meant so much to me.  I actually forgot my birthday until my son reminded me.  At my age I tend to not want to think about birthdays too much.   :tissue:

I got up very early this morning to catch the latest episode of Outlander, Jane.  Did you watch it?  The newest episode is always made available sometime during Sat./Sun. night here so I am generally up early on Sunday morning.

Take care, Everyone.  Stay well, (no more falls, please, Gloria de!) and I'll try to be better about posting.

Hi Everyone.  It is a cloudy Sunday morning and have a 90% chance of rain this afternoon.  We will be leaving for Sunday School and Church in just a few minutes so will be very brief this morning.  I had a good night and had no toe pain yesterday.  No shortness of breath this morning other than the usual.

Callie, for some reason we seldom see butterflies down this way.

Joan, am looking forward to see you post that you weathered the storm without incident.  I saw on the news last night that many people were ignoring the shelters and just staying in their homes.

Jenny, I have been surprised by the lack of pain in my toes and after that little incident early yesterday morning I went through the day and night without anymore pain and good so far this morning.  My SIL is planning on making the trip.  I heard from her yesterday that she has aches in places she didn't realize she had as I guess I pretty normal with a car wreck.  She hasn't seen her car yet as her nephew parked it at his mother's home.  The Texas Roadhouse I one of our favorites and we have one close by here as we did over where we moved from.

Amy, Happy Thanksgiving up your way.  We have to wait several weeks for ours but our granddaughter has already asked Pat about what we would be having.  Hope you son enjoys the BBQ here in South Carolina and it doesn't get rained out.

Phyllis, good to see your postings and your problems are every bit as important as any of ours so please come and share with us.

Thank you all for your postings.  I don't have enough time to make many individual comments this morning but I bet you all will survive without them  :)

Gloria

Good morning everyone, had the AC running all night again. Will be happy when it is put away for the winter. When I pulled up the shade and looked out was surprised at how windy it is. We will have rain later according to the latest weather report on TV. This will be from the latest hurricane Nate

JOAN  it is so wonderful to see you posting again. We have all missed you so much.  Good to know that where you are they have had the drills so everyone knows what to do in the storm. Stay safe. Hope Joe's place on Dauphin survives with no damage.

LARRY  hope your toes are not as painful today. I was wondering if I could put something on parts of the velcro on that belt so I can place it where it needs to be and not have to use all my strength to seperate it. All my bookmarks on Google are gone but at least the contacts on gmail are still there.

BUBBLE  nice seeing you here in the SS.

JOAN  prayers that the building you are in stays sturdy and the generators work to keep your oxygen going.

JENNY  I also hope Phyllis is OK.  I am on my own with that belt now, the PT that got me going with it signed off on Friday.

JANE  last week with help -she peeled the apples and I sliced them- I made an applecrisp, can no longer make a piecrust so the crisp was the next best thing I could do.

AMY  Happy Thanksgiving to you and all our Canadian friends.

PHYLLIS  great finally seeing you post. Remember this family here always worries about those who are missing.

LLOYD  glad you slept great for a change.

Good Sunday morning.

I did not get in here yesterday at all.  I was gone pretty much all day to a wedding.  Had to leave early, as the wedding was at 11 a.m. and it was about an hour away.  My daughter-in-law picked me up around 9:30 as we weren't sure just where the church was.  And, then we didn't leave the reception until after 4, so it was after 5 when I got back.  I was tired as I had  been awake since about 4 a.m.,  Went to bed early and didn't sleep very well.

So, now I am up, but not sure if I am "atem" yet.

I have had breakfast and have the morning show "Sunday Morning" on, as I like that show and for some reason, always seem to forget turning it until it is almost over.  I did remember it this morning, tho.

Yes, it is really nice to see messages from Joan.  Hopefully, soon, she will be back with us full-time.  Hope the latest hurricane doesn't affect her area too bad.

Jane, it looks like it is trying to rain here, but so far, only cloudy skies.  The weatherman predicts it is on it's way, tho.

I have no plans today, except for a nap, I am sure, later.

Phyllis, I am sending you belated birthday wishes.  So nice to see you back with us.  Hopefully, you will have better days ahead.

Hope everyone will have a nice restful Sunday.  And, if you aren't  resting, I hope you are doing something  that you really enjoy doing.

It's so good to see Joan posting again, and starting to sound more like herself.

Dark and dreary and kind of showery here in the Adirondack Mountains this morning.  But summer just doesn't seem to want to let go.  Temperatures staying near 80 dring the day and only down to around 60 at night.  But that's OK with me as I wait for a new furnace to be installed.  I can still use the old one (only 25 years) for a while if really necessary, but there is a crack in a small part that may make it burn hotter than normal - not really a good prospect.

Looks like Nate is pouring the water down on my daughter this morning in Asheville, NC, but he has lost a lot of strength already.  Next I'll be watching for my son in New Jersey, then see if we catch a little of the outer edge here.

Good morning Everyfriend!  I've been to church and stopped at the grocery store on my way home.

I forgot who it was who asked me about OUTLANDER but I don't see the new one until Sunday evening.  I'll be right there ready and waiting this evening.

Phyllis, we don't look on it as "whining".  We look at it as learning how our friends are doing.  If your day goes well, you don't have any problem sharing that with us.  If it's so-so you'd probably tell us that too.  If it's bad and you need a hug, you have to let us know that part, too.  Nobody's days are all PERFECT!  We miss our friends!

I've heard from both Cathy and Craig and they both liked the Apple Whatever.  Cathy wants the recipe.  It's so easy, I'm almost afraid to share.  But I will.

Amy, how nice that the doggies all got along.  You must have felt like you and Kyle were living in a "dog house" with the population increase.  You better treat them well or they'll toss you out one of these days.

It's 75º and rainy here today but the humidity is 87% and that makes it feel a lot hotter!  Have a great day!

Thank you for the Thanksgiving  wishes...we had such a big lunch that neither one of us wants a big supper tonight. So tomorrow we will have our TG meal.

Jane, Rex is so special to us.when Kyle was feeling better he would throw out wee dog cookies by the tree....cookie tree we called it. Now he doesn't get as many as I don't always get them there but Rex is also allergic to wheat!!

Phyliss ,what Jane said ....we miss you when you don't post.

I have been doing some sewing while everyone else was upstairs sleeping! Almost done, then I can move on to the next camp quilt :)
