June Drabek

I wrote a message this morning, but did something wrong and message weht bye bye. Had to scoot down for lunch and a turn on the glider, and a nice walk, Now I am home and ready for my nap.

Mary Ann, I am SO happy to see you back on line with us. Things just aren't the same without you. keep well now. I eat a banana just about every day so that takes cafe of that problem, and they still have me on two salt tablets a day, it is really a mystery how the body only operates properly when we have enough of the right stuff in our system.

Time now for my afternoon book and nap. See you all later. June
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Mary Ann

June, I saw my PCP today and he is happy with my progress.  I am feeling much like I should.  I sometimes eat a banana and it helps that I like them.

Mary Ann

Amy

At least it was a bit cooler today...

Hubby's appointment was for 1:40 and he was in and out by 1:23...can't complain with that service!! He gets dye shot into him and he really should stay 15 min but they let him go. Now to wait for the appointment with the oncologist on the 14th.

Well, one of our stores had the Instant pot on sale so I bit the bullet and bought one. Now to learn how to use it!!!

I thought I might have some life left in me to do a bit of work.ha ha ha ...nope..just going to rest then give it haw tomorrow..

Speaking of MIA where is Lloyd??? Sue hope he is ok along with Joy and Phyliss.

Yes, we are missing Lloyd!  Where could he be?

I'm off to bed!  I have an early day at WM tomorrow and I hope for a good night's sleep.  I have to tell you that Mickie's medicinal bath today was a lot easier than the one on Tuesday.  My back must be healing!  YayQ

It was a fun visit with one 27 year old granddaughter and one 12 year old one, one old lady and her daughter.  Lots of laughing and lots of interesting chatter.  Natalie and Kiran have a lot in common and they never lacked or  subject to chat about.  Kiran is having some of the same teachers that were there for Natalie and that was fun!  Natalie used to swim competitively and now Kiran does and they've both discovered BROADWAY!  Cathy and Natalie were just there yesterday and Kiran and her family drove in to see HAMILTON!

I wish you all a good night and a great tomorrow!  May God bless us, every one!

G'Morng all, sorry I have been missing for a few days, not sure how many ! but, I was asked my password and for the life of me, I could not remember it ! :(,  after a long and at times frustrating search through my 'super efficient' filing system (Scrap Paper) I found it,  :), so just looking in to mark my spot and to let Lloyd know i'm still about !, .

                                                                                 Cheers.   Roley.

Amy

Good morning..

Very foggy out there ,so happy I don't need to be on the roads early today!  Work around the house  and get the grass cut should about do it. Will check on the beans, they may need picking.

Jane, I bet it was fun to watch the two girls interact Did you get the oil for Mickie? I picked up another one for Babe.....big one......big price to but she is well worth it. Have a great day at work.

Roley, glad you made it in and hope you are feeling fit as a fiddle!!

Gloria, the cooler weather is a coming.my son called from Alberta and said they almost had frost!! Temp was 2 ° C there....told him to bring it on home.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I'll be off to work this morning at 9.  I think my back is improving as are other things.  I'm almost "ME" again!

AMY, no oil yet.  WM only had it in the capsules and I'd rather have the liquid.  I'm going to try for a quick stop at the health food store after work.  I'll let you know.  Mickie is considerably better and submits to the baths much easier.  I think she realizes they're helping!

It was fun watching the two girls together and also to note that 83, 61, 27 and 12 have all had or are having great experiences in the Lewisburg School system.  That was an eye opener!  Good memories made and being made!

Gotta Run!  Have a great day Everyfriend!  Grab it and make it your own!

Hi Everyone. It is going to be another hot, 94 degree, afternoon with only a 10% chance of rain.  I plan on staying home today unless Pat wants to go out and eat as we often do the day the housekeeper is here and this is that day.  I managed to stay pretty busy all day yesterday and it has been a busy morning but I told Pat not to expect much more work from me today.  I just prepared her breakfast and had already folded a load of clothes.  I had purchased a bottle of baby shampoo to try on my hair as a friend of mine said he used it and it was gentle.  However, as hard as I tried I couldn't get the thing opened.  Fortuantely, Pat had shampoo in the shower that I was able to use to wash out the medicated shampoo I had used and let set for about 20 minutes or so per instructions.

Does anyone else find packaging of things difficult to open.  I had to put up a 12 box pack of tissues and the wrapping was so tight and tough that I had a hard time opening it and that seems to be the rule anymore.

Mary Ann, the electric carts are such a help.  I was able to get one yesterday morning when I stopped at Walmart as had to go from one side of the store to the back of the other side for the bread I wanted to get and when I left the store I wasn't exhausted.

Gloria, I hope you got some break form the heat and humidity up your way with some rain last evening.

Jane, it is always a good feeling with the bulk of the bills have been paid each month.  I am trying to get as much on the credit card each month in terms of our bills as possible and then can pay it off once a month by going online to something already set up.  I don't allow any payments that I haven't authorized or that don't go on the credit card.  With the credit card I don't worry as always have 90 days to contest any payment.  I have not had any problems in this regard.  Just yesterday I set up the account with our Church to make our monthly offering online charged to the credit card and can now pay for the Wednesday night dinners at the Church and put it on the credit card.  There is an ulterior motive in my doing this as I get a nice rebate every year based on the amount charged. I don't pay my water bill or the trash/sewer bill on it as there is a charge to use the credit card but am able to pay them online.  This is working well for us.  TMI.  That sounds like it was a nice surprise for Kiran.

Jenny, I hope the additional PT solves the problem for your Dad.  I know you will be glad to have Brian and Cathy back in the USA.  I think we can now get two day free delivery for Costco although the same-day delivery isn't yet available here.  In the future I will ask our son to go with me and if there isn't a cart I will just wait in the lunch area so I am available to him if he has questions.  Usually by going early I have been able to get a cart but I guess Wednesday is not a good day to do that.  Burt Reynolds had quite a career and was a good actor.  He played many roles.

June, we also eat a lot of bananas and haven't have any leg cramps for a long time.

Amy, great on getting into your husbands appointment early.  I did have that experience with the dental hygienist this week and that was nice.  It seems here that usually the appointment time is just when I am suppose to arrive and has little to do with when I will actually see the doctor.  Congrats on getting the Instant Pot.  One of the hardest things we had to learn was how to get the lid on at first. However, we found that you put the stem vent to the back of the cooker and turn the lid counter clock wise about 45 degrees and the lid sits down into the proper grove and closes.  Pat has found many videos and recipes for using it and she is happy with it.

Roley, years ago before I started using an app called Last Pass I used a little Daytimer notebook  and wrote every password down.  However, now I use Last Pass which requires I remember only my master password and I have access to all of my passwords and a lot of other information I can store with them.  I don't know whether you would have access to it over there or not but there used to be a free version that would store 40 passwords but it would only work on one computer.  I have used the paid version, I think it is now $14 a year, and it is well worth it to me as I can access my information on any computer or smart phone or tablet.

Shirley

Sandy, I took your advice & the opener is on the way already.  My hands have been giving me so much trouble lately even the opener I have had for about 50 years isn't doing the job.  The little pad to sit a jar on will be a help, I'm sure.  Thanks for the tip & being on my daughter's "Prime" account.

We had a slow rain all night, no wind so slept with the sliding door wide open (screen door locked).  Started with Tom & Tiger outside (their choice at bedtime), Tiger showed up at the door about midnight but Tom stayed out until 4:00 when I got up to check on him & decided I was hungry.  Went back to bed & have a total of 6 hours & 40 min of sleep!  That is the best for a while, only 2 nights in the past 2 weeks have I gotten more than 3-4 hours sleep during the night.  These cats can keep me awake whether they are in or out (& I'm worrying about them).  Such is life.

Wonder if Lloyd took possession of his motorhome & giving it a try out.  Most places I expect he would travel to at the Lake of the Ozarks won't have wi-fi.... been there & know that.  Sure hope he hasn't had another accident, especially being so close to their dream of travel.

By the way, which every one started the conversation about bananas & leg cramps, thank you, thank you, thank you.  I have neglected eating them as often as I should & leg cramps been to the point I am afraid to stretch before getting out of bed.  I have hit the calcium/bone meal harder & drink plenty of water but hasn't fixed me.... & know bananas helped last time.  My husband used to think his were caused by not eating enough salads/greens.... and I haven't done that lately, either. My bad.

Roley/Peter, sorry you've been absent & hope all's well now.  Also glad Mary Ann found her way back. Need to hear from Joy & Phyllis ... check in, please.... as I used to tell my kids when they couldn't get home on time, "don't make me waste my worrying, just call to say it wasn't because of a wreck."  A long story about that so ...

I hear the hens next door cackling, they have 5 that live in the cutest little above ground cabin with ladder to ground pen... beautiful birds that are laying now.  Her father gave her the whole house & babies for Christmas... in thing as a neighbor across the street also had 6 but one turned out to be a rooster & not to have them in town, so she gave it away.  We grin every time we hear another "hen" crow and hope nobody turns it in.  I happen to love chickens & these are all so well taken care of a pleasure to hear the proud cackle when they lay an egg or even the misguided hen that crows.  All of the birds are pets & get to run free a little while most days when the family can sit & watch them.  So funny to watch them race across the yard, like little kids.  My pet chicken (when I was little) was easier to train that a cat, for sure.

Better get a move on.  Love reading about everyone's day and smile when things are going right.  Shirley

Good morning everyone, finally got a storm in the evening but about my Skype time so missed it.I will not keep the computer or TV on in a storm and shut them off. Cooler this morning at 68° and overcast. Hope I can get a walk  outside later. Yesterday I went down and out onto the porch, turned around and came back  in. Was like walking into a sauna.

JANE  what a nice surprise for Kiran.

JENNY  I do wonder about doctors these days. They sure are not like the ones of years ago that really cared about their patients. I see a NP every time I have an appointment and she is better than the doctor is.

AMY  would Lloyd be off to that Amish wedding?

PETER  good thing we have those pieces of paper we keep with passwords. So darn many of them it is hard to keep them where they belong.

LARRY  seems like I cannot open anything anymore. I either have to wait for my CNA to get here or my son when he gets here. All my meds come with the easy open caps as I cannot open those childproof ones.   No sun this morning to get it hot, hope we have a few days like this, will feel great.

SANDY  I had something similar to that jar  opener only it was screwed in under the top cabinets. My son replaced the old cabinets and it was thrown away. Could never remember where I bought it. Now would be a great time to get this one. Thanks.

SHIRLEY  I have tried everything to use to open jars and they never help since the one I son threw away.  I know before the day is over I will order one of them for me.

Have a good day.

Gloria, I have a jar opener under the cabinet and it has metal teeth; I put it in when I moved here in 1981.  I can't reach it now but Tom can and I think he uses it; he does know it's there.  I liked it because it worked on both wide and narrow tops.

I wondered too if Lloyd was off traveling.  Someone may open the front door and find Lloyd standing there.

Larry, while I don't expect to go to many stores now, when/if I do, I certainly will try for an electric cart.  One time Norm wrote a story about being in the grocery store and using an electric cart.  I'll have to see if Dot can find it or do I have it on an older computer.  I thought about that when I was on the cart in Lowe's.

Incidentally, James is now coming tomorrow (Saturday).  I'll believe it when I see him!!!   He's the father of the twins.

Tom ordered something from Amazon which came in two packages.  He got the first half and something was taken to Dot's (our numbers are not close).  Dot told the woman how to get here and I did see a Fed Ex trugk come into our drive part, go around the flag pole, not slowing down, and going back toward Dot's.  I  haven't seen the truck since.  When I live right by the flag pole, how hard it that to find?  Our unit/house numbers are all on the front of the garages and mine is a black wrought iron in light brick.

I'm finished with Wally World for a while now and today was the easiest day I've had since I hurt my back.  I guess that means I'm mostly healed!  Yipeee!!!

I have a jar opener just exactly like that one that my niece gave me back when she used to sell pampered chef.  It's terrific and I thought I told all of you about it...even looked up a picture on line to share with you.  Oh well, you must not have needed it so tucked it away for later and like me, you forgot where you tucked it away.  Sandy to the rescue!

The one thing it dowsn't open and nothing does is the tiny little bottles that my eyedrops come in.  I remember carrying one around trying to ope it and someone knocked at my door and asked if it would be alright to park one of their trucks in my driveway while they worked at my neighbor's.  I answered, "yes, on one condition".  He asked what and I said "Open this bottle first!"  He laughed and then opened it.

Now, when I pick up my eye drops at the drug store, I remove them from their wrappings and hand them back to the druggist for lid loosening.  Once I forgot and he called me back.

hope everyone's day is going well.

Jane, before Tom came to live here, I used pliers.  I was able to hold onto the bottom of the bottle OK, but could not manage the lid.  Now, when the bottles come, I open the package and take off the plastic around the lids (cuticle scissors work very well with that) and leave the bottles on the DR table.  Soon I have lids loose enough for me to open.

Mary Ann

JaneS

Does Tom do it for you or do they loosen by themselves?

Carol

Does anyone take a Butcher Knife and knock dents into the side of the jar top?  It usually works.  Me - of short patience.

Jenny:  Nice news that you have relatives checking on your dad.  The trips to care for parents - I ended up quitting a rather new job one year when both parents had health emergencies.

Amy:  I have used the instant pot six times.  Tell us what you are making.

I need recipes for noninflammatory  vegan meals.  If you or anyone could send me ideas, it would be so sweet.

Every day I try to go into  one room and organize (donate or throw away) something.  It is looking better.  I am donating a  quilt rack just because I do not want to work on large quilts again - ever - for sure - you betcha!

FYI - This week, the longest baseball hit was scored here - a Colorado Rockie player hit a 505 foot slammer.  Then, he hit more great ones.  Amazing.  Better than any movie!

Mary Ann

Jane, I was talking about the teeny tiny bottles that hold my eye drops.  After I get the plastic off, I leave them (they come three at a time for a 90-day use) on the DR table and Tom has no trouble opening them and leaves them for me to put away.  I've never been a 98-pound weakling, but I've never been able to unscrew the tops.

As for large bottles (pickles etc), if I can't get a jar open by hitting the lid with a table knife, I leave it for Tom who has no trouble.  He's a big boy1

Carol, if I put a dent in the side of a jar, I think I'd have juice all over.  Tins are no problem - we have a can opener.

Mary Ann

Shirley

Jenny, while I think of it, tell the kids that Dec.3 is the best birth day of the year in my book.... the day my mother was born and she was a jewel!  Nobody was ever loved or more loving that she was.

I thought we were going to be on the road tomorrow but turned out the 3 of us had confused dates & got another week to wait.  Hope the aspen haven't dropped all their leaves, not sure there will be 4 wheelers or Jeeps to rent since the season is pretty much over after Labor Day.

Sorry your father is having a problem.... might tell the next person that goes in with him to mention what a surgical nurse told us about seeing a PA when she goes to the doctor.... "MY insurance pays for me to see a DOCTOR, NOT A PA".... she was one of the best nurses in Wichita at the time & the wife of Cas' long time golf buddy.  My doctor always sees me, but I don't usually go in unless I've cracked my head or thought I crushed bones in my hand or some crazy stunt.  So difficult to take care of parents long distance... hugs for you.

Carol, I had many a jar lid with dents all over from the back handle of a knife!  Especially the home canned ones with the rings that wouldn't turn loose.  Was not a problem until Cas got weak & my hands lost their strength.  Now the joints will just lock up... slip out of joint or whatever happens.  Never thought too much about it until I reached down to pull a weed & the joints locked up, neighbor was standing there & saw me rubbing to get them back into place.  Said her husband's did that until one time he had to go have surgery to put the bones back in place.  Don't pull too many weeds anymore but find they are locking up easier & easier.  One of the joys of getting older....

"Does Tom do it for you or do they loosen by themselves?"... Jane... :2funny: :2funny: :2funny:

Mary Ann, I called Chewy today since I expected my order yesterday... couldn't get into the site to confirm it was "out for delivery... or delivered".  Lady said her records shows it was delivered yesterday.  Not the first time they delivered to the wrong address, but this package is so heavy nobody could move without paying attention to the name!!!  Hopefully they can track the driver down & find where he delivered... she offered to go ahead & ship again but I told her I could wait a few days, in case they find it.  I don't wait until I'm out.... in the meantime I happened to check Sam's club, have a box double the size for a couple dollars less than double what I pay Chewy..... so not really saving money & a problem when the delivery person (FedX) doesn't read instruction & leaves on the front porch instead of at the garage door.  I have to unpack & take separate cartons down the steps to put in the garage.  Always someone that won't read directions, but this is almost the last straw.

I've been finding Amazon shipments not as fast (some) & last purchase advertised as a large capacity chlorine floater & was like a toy compared with the another (still in the plastic bag)... Since this was one time I "ordered it again", no excuse for the minature one.  I did complain that it was not as advertised.... nothing from the seller or Amazon.  Not worth returning so a lesson learned.  I even ordered one later through Amazon, & it did come in the 2 day time, a different seller.  Must pay closer attention when ordering....  :-\ >:(

Time to feed cats. Right now it's cooler outside than in... I keep pushing the thermostat down to get the AC to run & pull out humidity, but kind of a chill so just opened a door & let cool & humidity in!  Take care.... can you believe it's a week end again?

Hello Everyfriend!  I made the mistake of walking past the sofa and it riddled with ZZZZZs today.  They were so aggressive that they jumped out and grabbed me and threw me on the floor with a pillow and invaded my body!  I'll have to be more careful but my back sure felt better after stretching out on the floor for a bit!

AMY, I looked up Grizzly and it turns out there are two pet stores right in my little town that carry their products.  I'll be stopping by there tomorrow and my doggies will be through with dry skin soon.

I'm always amazed at the information that I accumulate on this website.  SHIRLEY, my daughter refers to your Epsom Salts and heating pad cure as, "Mom's Voodoo Cure".  And she passes it on to friends and family finishing up with "and it REALLY works! You'll be amazed!"

MARY ANN, I could let those little eye drop bottles sit on my dining room table until kingdom come and they'd never open!  Might be, if she knew why they were there, my cleaning dynamo might open them.  They are one of the most frustrating things in my life but if Brad or I remember before I leave the drug store, that removes one of the frustrations.

About opening jars....Banging the sides on the counter or hitting them with a heavy handled knife has always been my "weapon of choice".  As for the home canned jars, running them under hot water always loosens them.  It's the sticky stuff in what's in the jars holding them.  But back in the old days, I saw my grandmother walk over to the door leading to the cellar, open it wide enough to get the jar lid in, pull the door toward her and twist the jar.  That works too.  But those darn eye drop jars are just too darn small!

I don't know what's more frustrating...being too little to do what you want to do or being too old!  I'm taking a vote.  Of course, there are still some of you who are both!

Now I got that all off my chest, I'll shut my mouth and take my chair!

I'm another with one of the metal toothed openers....a wonderful help.

I have been out twice today, and I am all worn out. We had our Red Hat singing Practice at 9:30 this morning, and this afternoon I enjoyed the Singing Good Timers. a large group of older folks that come here once a month and entertain us. They are an inspiration.

I am really tired tonight. I think my age is telling me something. So, I am at home for the rest of the day. I'll have supper at home, take a shower, do what I have to do.........take meds, do the breathing treatment, and then bed and book.

Have a good night dear hearts, I send you God's Peace, Hugs and love. June

FWIW - Tom came in with the missing package so the order is complete.  I don't know what happened, only that it showed up.

As for the small bottles - Tom knows what they are for and opens them for me before he gives them to me.

I have a cat sitting on the back of my chair.  He wants to be in the same room as I am if possible.  When I finish S&F I will go where he can sit beside me or on the floor if he prefers.

Good Morning my friends!  We're having a coo day here too.  The high will only be in the high 60s and we've already had that.  More rain is predicted.

I got up and got started because my friend the nurse will be here early to do my BP reading.  I have bedding in the washer, made dog food, packed it and cleaned up after it.  The doggies are fed and I'm ready for Mavis.

AMY, your neighbors are so lucky to have you for a neighbor!  You must relieve them of a worry for their pets!  With all they have to worry about, that's one thing they don't have to worry about.

After Mavis comes, I'm going shopping.  I need some stuff from WM and Giant has some great BOGOs this week!  I know Cathy isn't going to Wengers today because they have to take Natalie to the airport for her return trip to Texas.

Hi Everyone.  Today is suppose to be another hot and mostly sunny one.  I guess it will be a good day for the football games around here, better than freezing cold.  We did stay home all day yesterday but this morning I plan on attending a meeting and then will stop at Aldi's for a few vegetables and some breakfast cranberry drink that I like to have a little glass of each morning.  I plan on watching football today as this is the afternoon for the Georgia/South Carolina game and several other games to watch as well.

Yesterday evening Pat made meatballs and spaghetti in the Instant Pot.  She used some four cheese sauce and precooked meat balls that we had in the freezer and it made a delicious meal.  She added about a half cup of grated Parmesan cheese after it was cooked.  That with some garlic butter toast made a great meal.  There was enough left over for a second meal and the next time we will add a salad but couldn't do that last evening as had no salad vegetables on hand.

Sandy, we have a similar bottle/jar opener that is affixed under the top cabinet that had belonged to my mother.  You can use it holding the jar in both hands and is great.  The one you linked would also be a good alternative as you can get added pressure in turning with the longer handle.  Some of the caps and lids are on so tight that without something like this it is hard to open them.

Shirley, I get the can opener will be a big help and if we didn't already have something similar, as I mentioned above, I also would be ordering one.  Do you suppose your cats worry about you?  Just asking. Lloyd mentioned they were driving the Amish couple to Iowa for a wedding so I wondered if maybe they were away doing that job.  Like you the fear that he might have had another accident or fallen ill had been on my mind.  I hope the bananas help.  We try to have some here to eat every week and usually buy enough to share with Scott as he loves them.  They were very inexpensive here for awhile but are now going up a bit but still cheaper than they were for a very long time.  We always had chicken on the farm.  Our ministers wife said she has some chickens in her back yard and they will in a housing neighborhood.  There must not be an ordinance against this in our little town.  I wouldn't mind hearing a chicken but we have some birds in the back yard that are pretty loud in the morning as the sun comes up. Amazon sells for a lot of other people and many of the companies are not Prime and thus don't offer the same shipping as Prime.  Also we find we really have to watch the prices on Amazon as they constantly change.  Pat uses a little program called Honey that works with purchase site and will alert her if the same item is cheaper somewhere else.

Amy, glad your first effort with the Instant Pot was so successful.  I think that was also the first thing that Pat made in hers and she had the same outcome.  As more people get Instant Pots maybe we will need a special discussion to share just Instant Pot recipes.  I hope to soon have finished the Recipe Index on the two discussions with recipes we currently have but have several more hours of work to do on it.

Jane, glad your ZZZZ's were so insistent and sleeping on the floor felt good on your back.  It is good we can share our experiences with things that are helpful to us with each other.

June, it sounds like you had a nice day yesterday even if it was tiring.  Nice of the Singing Good Timers to come once a month and entertain you all.

Lloyd, glad to see your posting as we were worried about you.

Gloria, I hope you had a cooler and less humid day yesterday and were able to get outside a little bit.  We have been satisfied with the treatment we have gotten from the PA's at the doctor's office.  Every other visit to our primary care doctor will now be with his PA.  They have ready access to the doctor should they need his assistance.  However, often these visits are routine due to the lapse of time or just for something minor.  It sounds like you had the same type of jar opener we have.  When we had to sell my folks house we were careful to remove it and the same when we moved ourselves.

Mary Ann, except for the larger stores, and not all of them, many stores don't have the electric carts.  We have a big Belks clothing store in our town and I shudder thinking about needing to go in to it.  Some stores with them are not careful with their displays and leave little room to get by.  Hope you get to see James today and he gets the jobs done for you.

Jane, glad you are finished with Wally World for a while and now have time for yourself.  Great idea with the eye drop bottles in getting the lids opened before you leave the pharmacy.

Carol, I remember my mother used to knock something against the jar lids to help loosen them.  Have you checked on Internet search for the type of recipes you need.  Are you a big baseball fan?  Are most of the Rockies games televised?

Larry no need to be worried. we were traveling as I had posted. we had a great time. only draw back was the length of the wedding ceremony. and all spoke in German Language and over four hours long. Nancy told me if she had to go through that she would not have gotten Married. and they put on the most great feed. they put us up with the bride's grand parents. they made us feel right at home. but sure was great to get home and sleep in our own bed. there are going to be two more weddings back to back in a couple of weeks if some of you would like to attend I should be able to set it up for you..

Boy!  Wouldn't that be a neat experience!  I might even understand a word or two here and there.  When we were growing up my grandfather both loved us and scolded us in German.  And spoke a few other words he interpreted for us and some he didn't when he got angry.  I have some Amish acquaintances around here but none that I know well enough to go to a wedding.  I sure wish I lived nearer to you Lloyd.  You have some of the most unique experiences.

Dryer is beeping.  That means the sheets are done and I better go make the bed.  Today is a very relaxed one.  The only thing I have planned is a haircut because I know my favorite gal is working today.  Might stop at one of the other markets for BOGOs.  But I think I already said that!

Have a good rest of the day.  Had cookies out of the Hidey Hole.  They're GRRRRReat!  Thanks, AMY!

Not that it matters, but it would be very seldom I would go into a store now, with or without an electric cart.  We order our groceries by computer and Tom picks them up - no need for my assistance.

My meds come by mail so having the store open the bottles first is out of the question.  That is why Tom is such a big help.

Tom and James are in the process of installing my new window shade.  They must be missing something because they just left for Lowe's.

It's a lovely cool day so far and I think we will not get beyond 70 degrees.  Lovely!!!

Lloyd, that must have been an interesting experience - the German wedding.  My grandmother spoke German and Dad could understand some but it did not filter down the line.  I can make out some words but not many.  Sitting in the Frankfurt airport, it was strange to hear "ocht ocht" for 88.  I am sure I did not put the right spelling for the German 88 but you get the idea.  I got out my German/American book but didn't find what I was looking for in a hurry.
