"So, what's the matter?" asked one woman of her friend over coffee.  "I thought you just got back from a nice relaxing fishing trip with your husband."

"Oh, everything went wrong," the second woman answered.

"First, he said I talked so loud I would scare the fish.

Then he said I was using the wrong bait; and then that I was reeling in too soon.

"All that might have been all right; but to make matters worse, I ended up catching the most fish!"

Good morning again, got a few hours sleep at last. Another gloomy day here, very humid.

JEANNE LEE  like your Father's day graphic. Where is everyone this morning? Hope everyone is OK.

Good Morning,

It may take a while for everyone to find our new Shoppe.

Amy,  prayers continue for your husband....and for you.

Shirley,  I'm so sorry about LaurenKat.  Perhaps she knew she was in your favorite spot.

Jane,  a few months ago, I missed church for the very same reason.  My car lights automatically go off IF they're on the right setting.  I didn't realize they weren't so got out and went in the house as usual..... and, of course, the battery ran down.  Unfortunately,  I had to get a new one.

Because of taking meds and the tile project,  I haven't been to church all month.  Planning to get there today.  May have to take an ID.   ;)

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

Happy Fathers Day.  Two of the boys and our daughter treated Don yesterday and our other son and one grandson are treating him to pizza tonight.  A nice weekend for visiting.

Gloria de:  Here is hoping you are over the respiratory problem today.

Jenny:  Wishing you the best on your eye concerns.

Amy:  Best to you and your husband on his healing.

I am going to check into the Amazon delivery service and see if our zip code is included at this time.  We use Sprouts (a fresh veggie and meat store and they are included now in that service).  Times are 'a-changing.  I don't care for everything online - especially would want to try on clothes or shoes.  Unless I buy a certain brand and get my exact size.  But - I cannot stop worrying about the people who will lose their jobs - and the effect of small towns losing their grocery stores (like eastern Colorado).

This has been a week of recovery for me - just having tests and being "put under" caused several days of recuperation.  Do you think you lose brain cells every time you are drugged?

Thanks JEANNE LEE for putting up Phyllis's graphics.  Such a talent!

WHEW! There you are!  I thought I lost you!  I came and read and there was no reply button so I paniced and pressed evrything in sight.  I have no idea what brought me here but here I am.

My car is in working order again.  My daughter stopped by and when she parked next to me she noticed the jumper cables.  When she came in, she said "Are you having battery problems?"  When I told her it was dead and needs a jump, she asked me if I know how to use the cables.  Since I've only watched th process in the past I told her "NO".  But while we talked, I thought about my good neighbor across the street.  I called him, he came over and now I not only have wheels, I have a live battery to drive them.

And I think I heard a rumble of thunder off in the distance.  It is supposed to rain this afternoon and I really didn't want my car sitting in a thunderstorm with all 4 windows wide open.

I hope all you Daddies are having a happy Daddy's Day!

Happy Fathers Day to all you good guys that post here in the Soda Shoppe and other places where I find you. I thought I had been in before I left for Church...but that's me....don't know where I have been or where I am going, but you fellows that post here are the greatest. Thank you, and may your offspring be all and more as great as you are.

We had a very good Church Service, then I came home and put on comfortable clothing, I am becoming more of a slouch than I ever thought I would be, but I am happy with my comfort and no  need to try and impress anyone.

We are having special "eats" for Frs. Day...baked pork ribs, baked potato, and more good stuff, so I will enjoy the Frs. Day holiday. And I pray all you good guys will do the same.

I got the following note by email from Amy...

"Today showed some improvement but there is still room for more. He is not good on his feet yet and I am looking into a rollator for him. He has a good appetite thank goodness :) Dr said a couple of more days but we shall see.
It is 1 1/2 hours drive one way and yes I do drive each day. Today I took in photos of the dogs and taped it on his wall . Everyone commented on the dogs and telling him of their pets.

They had him in a wheel chair and we took him for a stroll about the hospital plus they had him up walking bit but as I said he is not good on his feet yet.
I am as you say all in but my shoe laces tonight so off to bed"

It's an hour and a half one way to the hospital and that a lot of driving to do in one day and then she spends most of the day at the hospital.  Keep the prayers going!

Good night Everyfriend and may God bless us, every one!

Janie dear, thank you for the update on Amy's beloved. And thank you Amy. We care.

I am off to an early bed. Had a quiet day. Lunch was good, but very rich sauce on the ribs. My gut is not used to that.

Have a peaceful God Blessed night dear hearts. I love you all SO much. June

Good Morning Everyfriend!  Today is going to be another hot one...up into the low 90s but we are expecting more rain.  We had thundershowers last night and I had two terrified doggies.  I wonder what they they all that booming noise is.

My Cleaning Dynamo comes this morning and I have an appointment at 12:30 so I'll have to get my shower and get dressed before she comes.  As soon as the doggies are fed, I'll be doing that.  We are also supposed to have more rain today and I really hope it isn't accompanied by thuner and lightning because I probably won't be home yet and the doggies won't know what to do.

Have to go.  one of my beepers has gone off and it's time to do something.  I wonder what?  I hope you all have a great day!

Good morning everyone, looks like I have posts to catch up on. Going to be a busy morning. I ordered groceries a couple of days ago and they were just delivered,  not even 7am. I needed some of the items and Monday the only time that was open was 7 to 9 am. My CNA can put most away when she gets here. Then I have a nurse from my insurance coming while she is here. I set my alarm last night to make sure I would be up and ready for the delivery but as usual I did not sleep good, afraid I would sleep through the alarm. I have never heard this alarm go off, only had it about 2 years.

JOY  I love Danish, how do you make them with the crescent rolls?

LLOYD  not too warm this morning but the humidity is horrible.

SHIRLEY  that typewriter must have been older than the ones in class when I was in junior high school. I could not resist that card. Like you I hate to get rid of things that to me are valuable but my sons would think are junk. My daughter will keep some of my treasures, already sent her some and they are on display in her new home. I feel sad for you and LaurenKat. If she was acting different she most likely knew what she was doing.

JANE  you are not the first who had a dead battery for leaving lights on, I know one person who did not close the trunk right and the light inside was on and drained the battery. Thanks for the news from Amy. I have her and her hubby in my prayers. I worry about her and all that driving she does.

LARRY  I had heard of swamp coolers before and my daughter said it really helps. At times it is not on but the wind blowing in the window turns the fan and that brings in cooler air. The JacquieLawson cards fascinate me, she has a wonderful talented group working with her. Well worth the cost of joining.

JEANNE LEE  I usually look for the name on graphics and this time I did not. She always does great work and so did you when you were into PSP. P fee; bad that I cannot do any with this PC. I think I should start saving my pennies and get a different one. This was the most expensive one I bought and it is not even 2 years yet. The last one I bought at BJ's club and was the cheapest one they had. Worked good but I needed more memory and space on the hard drive.

PHYLLIS  you do have the talent for PSP and I still remember how you said you would never be able to catch on to it when you first started. I feel bad that I cannot and now Bubble is the only one keeping that forum going. There used to be many of us before.

JANE  glad your "wheels" are on the road again. We have thunderstorms in the forecast for late day.

AMY  I am happy with my rollator. I bought mine before I really needed one and  now I depend on it for every step I take.

CAROL  my daughter yesterday was saying she misses Sprouts, that is where she bought all her produce in Ca. She has not found a market yet that can compare with them.

JOAN  hope you are having a good day and are already meeting those who will be your new friends.

Have a great day everyone.

Thank you, Jeanne Lee.  And thanks to all of you for your nice words.

Gloria, I remember, too, that PSP was something I thought I would never learn but finally it made sense and I enjoyed it for several years.  I went on to Photoshop and learned that and enjoyed it, too.  Now I don't do any of it....I think I used up my small portion of creativity.

Yesterday was quiet.  I had a nice long phone visit with my younger son and dil.  They have just been back a few days from Denmark and a week's cruise through the fjords.  They said it was beautiful, the weather was good for most of the time, and they really enjoyed it.  The rest of the day I spent watching the U.S. Open.  Beautiful golf course up in Wisconsin.  It was enjoyable to see the wide open skies again.

I hope Amy's husband is doing well and will be able to come home soon.  It is a wise decision to get a Rollator for him.  I don't know what I would do without mine.

Take care, All.

Hi everyone. It looks like it is going to be another overcast, cloudy day with highs in the 90's again as it has been the last several days. It looks like we will be having some rain over the next several days.  I did remember to turn off my sprinkler system late last evening.  I have no plans to leave the house today other than to get the mail.  Pat just left for a doctor's appointment.  She slept in a little later than usual so I fixed her breakfast to give her a little more time before she has to leave.

I am dealing with Internet problems this morning and pretty certain my hard drive on my big desktop computer has failed.  I have an old computer that I am going to try to use but for some reason it doesn't want to find the Internet.  I am using Pat's computer to download the Windows 10 software and sure hope I have the license number recorded for my desktop somewhere as will need it to install Windows 10 on a new disk.

After church yesterday it was so hot out we decided to get a fried chicken dinner for Pat and I still have half of my lunch from Saturday for my Sunday meal.

Thank you all for the nice Father's Day wishes.

Lloyd, is your friend Bob a lineman for the electric company? Hope you have a good appointment at the VA this morning.

Jeanne,  thanks for the new start for the Soda Shoppe and thanks Phyllis for the nice graphic that was available to Jeanne to share with us.  Thanks for the funny.

Callie, hope you made it to church and that means you are feeling better.

Carol, it will be awhile before the Amazon grocery delivery will be available in our small area.  We will have to settle for the Walmart and Kroger pickup online ordering for now. So far we have no home delivery from a grocery store but hopefully by the time we can't drive anymore that will be available.  I expect we do lose a few brain cells every time we take a pill but fortunately there are so many brain cells.

Jane, glad your wheels are working again and you are not stranded at home.  Thanks for sharing Amy's update.  She certainly has her hands full and that is a long trip back and forth to the hospital.  Glad to see her husband is making some improvement.  I heard thunder hear last night but not sure it produced any rain and if it did it was a slight amount.

June, that sounded like a delicious meal they served for Father's Day in your dining room.

Gloria, that is a very early grocery delivery.  Sprouts grocery store opened over where we came from perhaps a year before we left.  Their specials were good in price and quality but their other items were pretty expensive so we didn't do much shopping there, mainly produce.

Phyllis, that would be a very nice cruise your son and DIL took.

Merry Monday, Everyfriend.

Larry, thank you for the kind comments.  I've felt just fine since that 5-day mega-med experience.  Now that household things are back to normal,  I think I am, too.

I did get to church and 5 OTL ladies enjoyed some good conversation.  As usual,  we settled all the problems.....of our little part of the world, anyway.   Now if The Powers That Be would just ask our opinion..... :2funny:

A cool front went through Saturday night and the temperature is very pleasant.   My flowers look great but I did spy a rabbit nibbling on some leaves and had to spray with the stinky stuff.

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

I woke at five a.m. so just lay there and relaxed till the nurse came at six with BP check and first medication.I felt really good today, so got a few things taken care of..even had  a walk and returned a book, and checked out another one. Now it is getting close to lunch time, and my eyes are begging to take a nap. No way.....that will happen after lunch.

I hope Amy has a good day..no fun driving one and a half hours each way. I know that for a fact as I did the same with my guy. He was hospitalized for six weeks. When he came home we changed medical insurance that covered our area for hospitalization.

Larry, your little lady is very wise to prepare food ahead of time so her Sunday's are free. Good thinking ! I still have three pork riblets in my refrigerator from Frs. Day lunch, but I thing I will toss them in tomorrows trash. Just too rich for my ancient stomach. There was a day I could eat anything and plenty of it.then age came along, and said "whoa !"

We here at Rowntree are celebrating Hawaii this week..or maybe all month, I'm not sure, and I don't know why, but we always have something new to keep us happy. So after lunch today they will be showing a movie "Moana" on the big screen. If I can stay awake, I may attend.

We are expecting a high of 87 today. Nice.

Have a happy day my dear friends. Hugs !!!

Jane, I was not able to post in here yesterday, as I also had no reply button to hit. No trouble in any of the other post. thanks for letting us know about Amy's husband. We are still praying for both of them.

My sore throat is gone, it lasted three days., but I still am coughing.

thinking of Joan.

We both bought our fishing licenses today.  It has been free for years and now they need a dollar per year for seniors.  Am not complaining at all.  I have cooking and freezing on the agenda as we will be going to visit oldest son's cabin later.  First, I have to wait to get into the dentist - a temporary cap came off.

Larry:  Amazon won't be delivering in our zip code when it begins.

Gloria:  Sprouts is within ten minutes drive of us but they will be affiliated with Amazon.  I really don't know if the Sprouts store will stay open - perhaps for a time.

Hello Everyfriend!  I've had a long, busy and lovely day.  I had an appointment at my choiropractor and so did my sister.  Her daughter brought her and I waited after my appointment and we ( my sister, my niece and I went to an early supper before they headed home.  I always enjoy my visits with my sister and having my niece along was a very nice plus.

Since the chiropractor is about a half hour drive away, I'm a bit tired now.  I think I'll put some things away and thenget in my lounging clothes and LOUNGE!

I hope you all have a lovely evening.

According to my weather map we never reached 87 degrees today, but my A/C has been running almost constantly since noon.

Sandy and Gloria de, how I would love to have some of your rain storms. We are so dry out here. I ate lunch out on the big patio today and it was so pleasant out there. Had a cup of turkey noodle soup, a green salad, v8 juice, and a huge slice of pizza.Pudding for dessert. I will have a light supper at home. Spent the afternoon reading and dozing. Morning seems to be my most alert time of the day. One of the mysteries of aging I guess.

Well I am back but not for long.  My PT is really taking it's toll on me.  I have simply run out of energy it seems.  The therapist put me through my paces in the pool today and added a few exercises.  Some squats, and leg stretches.  Tomorrow I have my PT in the gym and I may have to cut it short if I am still short of energy.

It was a little cooler here today and we have some very small showers come through the area late this afternoon, one got close to us.  It got very dark but no moisture.

Shame about the young man the N. Koreans sent us back, brain dead.  I feel so sorry for his parents.  What ever possessed him to try stealing a stupid poster.

Everyone have a great night, God bless and sweetdreams.

GLORIA ........

Here is  a link to the cheese Danish with the Crescent rolls.

http://cakescottage.com/2016/03/07/easy-cream-cheese-danish/#more-109911

This is one version that I use, but if you go to the Pinterest web page and type in " Cheese Danish wth crescent rolls.  lots of EASY variations will come up. I have made them several different ways.  They are all pretty quick and easy.  You can just use 1 can of the rolls and half of the remaining ingredients. I usually only  make them with 1 can.

Joy, I'm still racing to get things done so haven't taken time to figure where the message room is in here.... used to be able to find it, to answer & thank you for that link & instructions.  So thank you here!!!

Today I ran to Sam's Club & grocery store to buy every kind of fresh veggie to clean & take to my friend.  The little frig downstairs is full & I will cut up a watermelon tomorrow & am taking meat spread & loaf of French bread for open face sandwiches.  Plenty to nibble on for anyone around her house.  My hands look like prunes from being in water so long.  We've known each other for nearly 50 years & just help each other when in need.

Needed to add water to the pool being so hot & windy all last week... well is pumping out lots of sand.  We've always tied an old panty hose on the end of the  hose going into the pool, never had more than half a cup of sand come up other years but today one leg was filled clear to the panty & so heavy it pulled loose & fell to the bottom.  Naturally some of the sand spilled out but the other leg floated up so I snagged it with the leaf rake & managed to get it out.  Can't finish filling until I get another "strainer".  ::)  Then I turned on the sprinkler system, first zone so strong it was shooting water over half the driveway & street... but it stayed partially on when 2nd zone came on... that darn sand filled all the sprinkler heads & they can't go down.  Will have to call the well people to see what needs to be done.  Expect it's caused by the high water in the river & the fact "they" are working on the by-pass just to the west of my house... and digging sand out of the river for their concrete!  Stirring up all the wells, I expect.

My mind is still on old LaurenKat, I know she's probably dead but the chance she is not, just scared and hungry.... nags me.  As my mother used to say, "going through the day on automatic"..... too many things on my mind so not coping well right now, nothing really bad, just bumping from one thing to another but not getting anything completed.  Enough whining for tonight.

Prayers for all in need, especially you, Amy, & your husband.

Hal, I had the same thoughts about the young man tortured by the North Koreans.... why he did what he did and how terrible for his parents.  At least they got him home to know his nightmare is ended.  I hoped at first he would get better but not meant to be, may his soul rest in peace and his parents find comfort for their loss.

Time to get to bed, much to do tomorrow.... before Joan finds her demerit book!!! :o    God Bless and sweet dreams for all. Shirley

Good Morning Everyfriend!  We had rain yesterday and more overnight and it seems to have coold things off.  We are only expected to have temps in the high 70s today.  I can live with that!

I'll be off to my post at Wally World today at 10.  That' gives me some time to get into something today.  I shelled my peas last night and I've made a conscious decision not to cook them.  I'm going to eat them as my sister and I used to when we were kids....freshly shelled and raw.  Ummmm Ummmmm goood and full of happy memories.

I haven't heard anything from Amy last night or this morning yet.  I hope it just means she's tired and tending to the doggies and herselft.  I wish you all a good day.  Make it whatever you wish it to be.

Goodmorning everyone, raining again here. Missed the thunderstorms in the forecast last night. Looks like the line of storms heading this way wore themselves out by the time they got here.

PHYLLIS  at the time when we were offered the Photshop it would not install in the Dell PC I had so never got into that. I do miss PSP but with this lemon I have I cannot get any of the plugins installed and  that is that. Without my rollator I would not be doing any walking.

LARRY  the only opening they had left for delivery yesterday was the 7-9 so I was surprised whe the delivery was here even before 7. At least my CNA was here to help get things put away. My daughter only got produce at Sprouts. Looks like the best place she found so far where they are in Az. is Walmart.

GLORIA de   we escaped the worse of that storm system here. Not sorry we did either.

CAROL  for years women did not need fishing liscense here but that changed a few years ago. Have no idea the cost now. My sons have been too busy for fishing.

JANE  glad you enjoyed time with your sister and niece. Even after all the years my last sibling went home to God I miss them.

HAL  looks like PT is not doing much good for you. Too much for what you feel comfortable doing.

JOY  thank you for the link. I have it opened in another window and will check it when I finish here.

SHIRLEY  SLOW DOWN. We do worry about things we cannot change and think of the "what if's".

JANE in all the years we had a garden and planted peas I never got to cook any of them. We would walk through the plants and pick a peapod and crack it open and eat the peas. So tasty.

LLOYD  looks like the rain here has stopped, my windows are starting to dry. Boy do they need washing.

JOAN  always good seeing you. My AC ran all night but right now it is off.

Good Morning Everyone!

Joanie, happy to see you posting bright and early this morning, hope that means you are getting back on track.  I feel pretty good this morning but dreading going to PT, today is in the gym and lots of stretching.

Looks like the old Gulf is starting to get active.  a low is sitting off the coast and the spaghetti map only shows on "string" headed toward Texas.  Most want to take it into Louisiana.  But the Lord only knows where he wants to send it.  We could use the rain but not the destruction.

We have two of our Great Grandkids here with us for a couple of days.  So we have kid noises, laughter and running and the normal stuff.  They seemed to occupy lots of their time with making and playing with "slime".  Buy the stuff in power form them mix laundry soap and shaving cream and mix it all up.  Yuk!

Tisie, I feel for you about your cat.  You will always wonder but I know you did your best to protect it.  Telling you not to worry is like telling water not to be wet.

Lloyd, hope the old dozer does its thing without breaking down on you.  Be gentle with it, if that is possible.... :)

Hope everything is going okay with Amy and DH.  She is putting lots of miles on her and her car.  Hopefully thing will smooth out for her quickly.

Coffee is ready, all that want a cup are welcome.

Good Morning, everyone from the warm
and a bit humid, rocky coast of Maine.

After today it is suppose to be dryer and a bit cooler,
for the next ten days.     (My kind of weather) ...

Tomorrow my Kelly leaves for her three week stay in
Switzerland, Ireland and Germany/ Italy ...
She will be visiting and hiking with her friends
from there.      I of course,  am worried about her,   but
hope that she has a great time.    Maggie and Maeve
will also be joining her next week.   They will be gone for
six weeks.    (Oy Vey!)

I don;t want to wish the Summer a  way, but I wish my gals
back home safe and sound.

All is well for me here on the rocky coast.
My wing is healing slowly,  but much easier now with
the soft cast.

Have a good day,
everyone!

Sandy

Just a quick note...

Amy was extremely tired last night and went straight to bed.  She told me this morning that they had thought her hubby might be coming home today but that's not going to happen.  They don't know exactly when.  He is still having trouble walking but he really wants to leave the hospital.

That's all I know for now and I have to go get ready for work.  Enjoy your day and know that your prayers are being heard.

Shirley, I'm praying for LaurenKat that she will have what is most important for her...whatever the Lord sees fit.  it's in His hands.

Hi everyone. It looks like we well be staying in the high 70's today with a 90% chance of rain throughout most of the day.  It likely will be raining when I make a quick trip downtown to pick up our online grocery order from Walmart and a quick stop at Office Depot for a new hard drive for my desktop.  Then I should be able to stay in for today.

Yesterday afternoon we did go to Costco and loaded up our freezer with meat, probably enough to last us 4 months or more.  I forgot to take over the ink cartridges for refill so may try to drop them off this morning while I go downtown and then stop back by and pick them up either later today or tomorrow.  I have already accomplished several routine household duties this morning.

Callie, I bet that rabbit thought you planted those tender morsels just for him.  :)

June, one of the big advantages we have living in North Augusta is that there are several big hospitals located about 15 to 20 minutes away and they have free parking and seem to be easy to get around in.  We have now learned out way around the hospital complex at the University hospital which is where our doctors would send us and where they have privileges. Where we did live I usually ended up in the hospital an hour or more away from us and it was a tough drive for Pat and you had to walk up a slope to get to the front door of the hospital, which was hard to do.

deAngel, sure hope those strong storms pretty much missed you.  From the weather reports last night it looks like a lot of the Eastern part of the country will have a lot of rain and bad weather. Glad your sore throat is gone.

Lloyd, it is the different personalities of our friends that make them interesting.  Like you I have never accepted a dime for helping a friend but always offer to pay for their help, which is usually declined.

Hal, years ago I had a membership in the YMCA and signed up for an exercise class and a pool exercise class.  When my heart doctor found out about it he told me to cease with the exercise class.  Later I had to give up the pool exercises also as just ended up exhausted.  It sounds like your PT may be a bit too much right now.  There is nothing good that come from North Korea.  That is a tragedy.  I have to wonder at the wisdom of going there in the first place but the "crime" the young man didn't certainly didn't warrant how he was treated afterward.

Shirley, you are a good and generous friend.  It is a lot of work cleaning and cutting up vegetables.  I am sure they will be appreciated.

Jane, I also like small peas much better uncooked than cooked.  However, I feel the same way about a lot of vegetables. I bet Amy is just exhausted by this time.  Spending many hours in a hospital in the usually uncomfortable chairs available can be so tiring plus three hours of driving a day.  Thanks for posting the update from Amy for today.

Joan, it is such a treat to see your postings pop up.  Glad you can stay in where it is cool and comfortable.

Gloria, at least your daughter can look at and select the produce from Walmart.  We have bought a lot of it there over the years.

Good Morning all, I am late coming in today, but it is a delight to be with you all.

Bis, so good to see you dear heart. It makes me so happy to see your post come up. I am sure you are still recovering as you had weeks of stress and labor and decisions and all of those on top of illness take time to be your other "self" again.

Janie, thank you I "will do what I must, to enjoy what I wish !" Thank you dear. I read this morning in my Bible, "You are not your own. You were bought with a price, so Glorify God in your body." So we do have to be careful to wish the right thing. Thank you so much for the news on our Amy.

Larry, it pleases me to know that you have a good hospital  so nearby. When we are ill we are not truly able to drive, or even ride, a long distance.

Sandy, I pray that your girls will have a wonderful time, and I know you will miss them. My Gary and Dori are leaving for McCall Idaho for two weeks..next week..andI miss them already.

Hal, it concerns me that you are going through such stressful therapy. You know your body and your abilities and your stress better than any other person on this earth, and I feel should tell the therapist, "Enough !" I remember years and years ago when I was still a kid, my mother going to a chiropractor for her back, and would come out sobbing from the pain he put her through. No way is that healing !

I have to scoot back downstairs if I want to have lunch……..

I'm home from work, had my lunch, loved up the doggies and now I'm ready for a snooze.  I have a bit of a headache so I think I'll take and Alleve before I lie down and maybe I won't have it when I wake up.

Stick around, Everyfriend, I'll be back!

Well I am back and feel somewhat better. June, I did tell the young lady to be easy with me today and she was.  10 mins on the bike and then some stretch exercises, she even said we could quit early (15 minutes to go in the session) but I told her no lets do the whole thing and she gave me one more exercise and called it a day.

While I was waiting there was a young mother with her son waiting also, the young man had been sitting at a table and doing a picture with crayons and brought it over for his mother to see, he had done a great job, and I told him so.  Anyhow he was at a table near me and they were working on his feet with some kind of electrical instrument and obviously it was painful and the boy was crying.  I told his therapist to ask him about his picture that he had done a great job of coloring it.  She did and it got his mind off his treatment for a little while.

At any rate I am back in the pool in the morning and that will be it for this week

Janie, hope you shake that headache and wake up all full of vim and vigor.

.

YEA....ðŸ'ðŸ'ðŸ'ðŸ', I finally found my way in.  Thought I had tried everything, but then figured it out.

Saturday I wrote a big post..... and when I checked in Sunday morning it was not here AND I could not post a Happy Father's Day wish to all the special dads in here.

SHIRLEY, I was most upset about my post as it had a lot said to you about your CO trip and LaurenKat.  Now I will just say I am sorry and I know you will always continue to wonder about her.

AMY, so sorry to read about your hubby.....but sure appreciate you JANE, for sharing the updates about how things are going.

CAROL, I am happy to read you and Don are going to be able to get out of town for a few days.  It is sure getting mighty hot out there.  Happy to not be in AZ with the scorchers they are having.

So happy to be back in here with you all...it has really been bugging me!

Have a great day, EVERYFRIEND,

Jenny

Thanks, Jenny, for understanding about LaurenKat.... and everyone else.  Hardest part is wondering if she is hungry and scared. Poor baby, nothing should be as scared as she was her whole life.  We tried so hard to make her not afraid.  Can't do a thing but make one more trip to that campground & hope not so many people around.  If she is alive & in whistle range, she will come.  If not, I will go away convinced she is dead or trying to walk back to KS.  d ...

Crazy day, delivered the veggies & other stuff, hot-hot so wanted a nap.  Bedroom TV won't turn on, I even changed remote batteries, looked all over for a "reset" button.  Don't TVs have them anymore?  This one is maybe a year old or less... Viseo, I find no place to turn it on manually.  Duh............

Not a productive day, think I'll start over.   ::)

EDIT:  Talked to son, "un-plug & plug back in..."  That worked.   :-[

Hal, I am happy you spoke with your therapist, and she understood. I'm sure after several sessions more you will feel much better and stronger.

Jenny, I'm sorry you lost that lengthy post, I have done the same several times..evidently did every thing right but I didn't click on "post". Our "highs" are not what I would consider high, but there is more humidity in the air, being close to the beach than what we had in Hemet….or it's just me…getting older and fussy.

Tisie, I have read frequently that when an animal senses that it is about to die, it will disappear on purpose. And that may be why your Lauren cat took off. She was not a youngster, and most cats have innate pride and when they are old and ill they do it their way. I sense your deep sorrow dear, and I feel for you. You and I are both fortunate to have sons that can help us understand our computers.

well I do try to follow all your good advice, but never worked. the fellow i am bulldozing for was supposed to move every thing out of the way but did not
so i got on his tractor , made a sharp right turn to go move it out of the way
and that was right under a too low electric fence wire, well the good part was
the tractor is on rubber tires so no shock.  but the wire first stretched bow string tight then broke the top of the muffler off  and took a spot of skin off
of my upper for arm about the size of a silver dollar, clear down to the mussel.
and cut another place about 3" long, then hooked under my chin almost took me off the tractor before i got the clutch pushed. never cut my chin. so i spent all afternoon in the emergency room. they puled the skin together and stitched it together, and told me not to get wet for 24 hours.  so i will have to take a spit bath tonight. also said not to get any dirty on the bandage so I guess i will be a couch jockey tomorrow have a V A appointment Thursday so should take care of that for now. hope everyone has the rest of the day just like they like it. good night sweet dreams.

Good morning everyone..

Looking like rain here this morning. We have been so lucky here as the weatherman has been calling for rain, high winds and thunderstorms and so far we have missed all that!!! In between the showers I managed to get the grass cut and last night I did the whipper snapping and doggie land mines picked up.

Hubby is showing improvement and today they will try him on stairs, I know  he is going to tell them that who ever built them did it wrong......he is a stickler on stair building as we have done many in our past.

Shirley, understand your concern ,our pets are snuggled in our heart and when this happens we worry. Animals are smart ,they know when it is their  time.

Lloyd, I go away for a bit and just look at what you get yourself into!!!!!  Mercy me, we are going to have to put you in a big bubble to keep you safe.

Take care everyone and I may not yet get time to post to everyone but soon I hope when hubby comes home I will have more time..

Good Morning Everyfriend!  It's going to be a beautiful day here...temps only into the low 80s.  I can live with that.  I need to make a trip to the local Farmers Market and that's all that's pressing on my agenda.

I was disappointed not to see a note from Amy in my email but delighted that she had time to post in S&F.  That's fine with me!  She is one busy lady these days!

I'm semi-planning a trip to my sister's this weekend.  It's my grandniece's 17th birthday and I'm her Godmother.  I always try to visit on her birthday.  They live close to my sister and I can take the dogs there with me.  I can also see for myself how my brother is doing.  I'll miss the holiday parade in Lewisburg but sometimes I find them tiring these days.

I guess I better get started or I'll find myself putting everything off until it's too late.  Have a good day Everyfriend!

Good morning, Everyfriend.  We are having stormy weather.  We are currently under a tornado watch and it is coming down by the buckets--flash flood warnings.

Good morning Amy.  It is wonderful to see your post.  I continue to pray for your husband's recuperation and for your endurance.

Janie--Good morning.  God your weather is to be so nice.  I hope you can go to your sister's.  Travel safely with your sweet dogs.

Good Morning Everyone!

Lloyd, Lloyd........son do you ever slow down enough to see what is around you?  I am glad you didn't do too much damage but at our age any damage is too much.

Joanie, happy to see a post from you this morning.  Are you happy to see the rain?  I know Florida was like my part of the world dry.  We are not going to get anything out of the Gulf from this storm.  Looks like the coast and Houston will get some rain.  Lucky folks.

Amy, it is nice to see you post this morning and some news from you.  And as usual you are blowing and going.  Your wheels are going to fall off one of these days if you don't slow down.  Good news that DH is improving.  Hopefully he will get home soon.

My email is messing up.  I use Thunderbird and yesterday for some reason it doesn't want to download my mail.  AT&T uses yahoo as it's mail delivery system and I can go there and get my mail but I am not crazy about their system.  Anyhow I called support and got their overseas "expert" (not) and she was no help at all. So I called my paid tech support and he worked on it until after 9PM last night and we tried calling AT&T support again and da dah, they advised me to call their paid support people.  Anyhow, my "Hello Tech" level 2 (doesn't that sound impressive) is suppose to call me at 1 today and see if they can find how to fix the problem.

I have PT (pool) today and that will be PT for the week.  Dentist tomorrow and shots in the back Friday.  I am a doctors dream, I guess with all my apmts I shouldn't fuss at Lloyd.

I hope your trip to farmers market goes well JaneS.  And you get lots of goodies.

Good morning and Happy Summer time to those who like summer. Looks like the tropical/hurricane storms are in a hurry to get started.

HAL  just saw on the news the surf. rain and wind picking up in the gulf. Stay safe all who live in the souther states. We have a chance of thunderstorms again this afternoon.

SANDY  I wish your family members a safe and happy time in their trip.

LARRY  where my daughter now lives they are off the grid and have an hour ride into town for shopping. Everyone who lives where they are have to be all self sufficient, modern day pioneers. I know I do not like produce that is prepackaged, don't know what it is like. Like when we could buy beat  that was not prewrapped. Doubt there are any of the old meat markets around.

LLOYD  next time you have a job and there is stuff in the way do not start until the way is clear. That fellow was careless and you are the one who suffered for it.

AMY  you are amazing  with what you do. All that driving and spending time with your hubby and then doing all that work at home. Prayers for both of you.

JANE  should be better here today, the humidity has gone down.

JOAN  saw on the news earlier about the rain and wind in that area.

Have a great day everyone.

GLORIA,  There are two meat markets in easy driving distance of me and the Amish store has a meat department.  Both the Sunday Farmers Market and the Wednesday one have at least two meat markets.  And I think there's one in Milton.  There are at least 4 country stores in a 15 mile radius of here who have meat counters.  I know I'm missing some but this is FARM COUNTRY where i live.

You can't get to an airport in less than 2 hours around here but you sure can get good meat and produce!

Heck, JaneS, I am within 15 miles of our airport and sometimes it takes an hour to get there, depending on time of day.   So I would settle for the produce/meat markets you have.  How often do you use an airport any old how.

Hi everyone. It is to be another overcast day and we are starting out with humidity of almost 90% with continued chances for rain.  The excitement for yesterday was that we experienced a 3.2 earthquake within 10 miles or so of us.  I didn't feel any shaking but heard a loud and fairly long what I thought was thunder.  However, apparently it was the impact of the earthquake.  As far as I know it didn't cause any damage in the area as realize that really isn't a very strong earthquake.

I did go and pick up the groceries yesterday at Walmart and then stopped at the Office Depot nearby and bought a new hard drive.  Scott said he was looking forward to putting it in for me.  Hopefully by tomorrow sometime I will be back using my big desktop.  The only activity on hand for today is this evening when we will have dinner with Scott and Jennifer.  As far as I know we will be eating in. Update, I think we just decided to eat out tonight and then eat in next Wednesday evening.

June, your poor mother in leaving the chiropractor in pain.  Pat's experience is that she usually feels better after a treatment and does believe the series of treatments over the three month period that she took sometime ago really did help her.  She is really doing well now except when she stands for too long.

Hal, I bet if you had stopped your PT before the time was up there wouldn't have been any difference in the charges.  Glad she was easier on you yesterday and your feeling a bit better.  Hope you enjoyed the pool today.

Shirley, I have had to do the same unplug and repug in the TV on occasion.  Pat and I each have a remote control and when neither one will function I know it is not a battery problem but the TV.  I also sometimes have to reset the Dish device by doing the same thing.  Electronics can sure be frustrating when they don't work as they should.

Lloyd, what are we going to do with you. I am glad you were not hurt more or even killed.  I do hope you are not in too much pain today.  Pat and I both empty our CPAP water reservoirs daily and refill each evening.  We sure go through a lot of distilled water and buy it six gallons at a time.  Glad it isn't expensive.

Amy, it sounds like your husband is slowly improving and hope he was able to handle the stairs (even if they weren't built to his specifications).

Jane, what kind of holiday parade are they having in Lewisburg?  My parade attending days are over.  Hope your trip this weekend works out and you and your doggies have a nice outing.

Joan, by the weather forecast with the tropical storm in the gulf it sounds like you could be in for a lot of rain.  We have gotten some rain from the advanced moisture of the storm but it looks like most of it will miss us.  We have had enough rain that I won't need to water the yard this week at all.

Gloria, actually we went to an old fashioned meat market two or three weeks ago.  However, the steak we bought was not as good as what we get at Costco so won't be going back.  There are also a couple of other meat markets in our area. I sure wouldn't want to live an hour away from shopping or medical help.  Of course, years ago that wouldn't have been a concern but now is one of my first considerations.

LARRY, I'm not sure how they figured it out but this Saturday is what always was the Fourth of July Celebration.  I'm not sure why it's being done early every year but it is.  I don't go very often and since Bethany's birthday falls near it, I usually escape to my sister's and avoid the traffic.

Lloyd, once more you have escaped with your life. What is is going to take for you to realize you need to retire. Are you daring or testing to see how much you can get away with ?????

Amy, so good to see your posts, thank you. You and your hubby are being prayed for and hopefully you will get your beloved back home again soon ! Do rest as much as you can, you have to conserve your strength for when he comes home.

Bis you are a fairly new resident of Ala. but so far how does the rain storm compare with the ones you had in Fla. ? We continue dry in So. Ca. I read that Hemet is in the 100's at this time, and we are still in the high 70's now but very humid..58 %. I sleep with just a sheet as covering.

Hal, I hope your P.T. was refreshing. I sure miss being able to have a good swim.

This has been an active day…no nap at all. We had a group of Hula dancers entertain us today. we residents that wanted to join in could, so I stayed on the sidelines with my cart in front of me…brakes on..and was able to participate. One of the pros came and complimented me for following the gyrations, which was nice, but I was not looking for recognition, just wanted to dance. They were all older women, dressed beautifully and dance beautifully too. Then I just spent a lot of the afternoon wandering the grounds and enjoying the sun, and gabbing with those I met.

Time to think about preparing a light supper. Had a great lunch downstairs, so will just have a salad at home tonight.

My Gary finished the last chapter of the book of Daniel at Bible study today. Next Wed. he and Dori will leave for a relaxing five weeks driving to Idaho to visit their Pastor son and family, and then relaxing doing their own thing for a couple of days. It is the first time in their married life they are taking time for a long vacation, and I am so happy for them. They are such GOOD kids.

Have a peaceful night dear hearts. I love you all so very much. June

Hi late Friday evening. All is well but want to get up in the morning and work on my new installation of Windows 10 on the new hard drive Scott installed for me this evening. We did get Windows 10 installed on it and it should get the updates installed during the night. So I likely won't post again until Friday.

Only two posting since I posted this morning. Certainly a quiet day here in the Soda Shoppe.

June, sounds like it is time for Gary and Dori to enjoy a long vacation and hope they have a great time.

Lloyd, hope the traffic isn't too bad in the morning..I know where the VA hospital is unless they have built a new one in the last 50 years as worked on an audit project there right after I first started to work.

Lloyd, that is nonsense you are speaking. It is working with the machinery that is harming you. There is much you can do to keep busy just standing on your own two feet. My heart goes out to Nancy. Have you thought about spading up some ground with a spade and planting a nice garden, taking care of your cattle like you father probably did without riding on a huge machine, but on his own two feet. Your body would feel a great deal more satisfaction by doing thing the old fashioned way. That's all I'm going to say.

Larry, thank you for your kind words for my kids. The give so much of themselves to others year after year..Gary as Pastor of his church, and Dori as working side by side with him, plus she has taken on a volunteer job, counseling un-wed mothers.

Time for me to get myself to bed. I didn't intend to hammer away at Lloyd, but he has to start using good sense in my way of thinking.

Good Morning Everyfriend!

JUNE, you are one special lady!  Not only to you caution LLOYD about not doing the things that are causing him harm.  You present him with an alternate plan for doing some of the the things that bring him pleasure in a way that won't bring him harm and will still give him the exercise we all need.

LLOYD, listen to JUNE.  She one smart lady!

AMY, if you're looking in...drive carefully!  Our prayers are with you!

I'm going to try to figure out how to be two places at the same time this weekend...or at least part of it.  I seem to have made two separate plans for this Saturday.  And they are not close together.

I hope you all have a lovely day doing exactly what you wish to do!

Waving madly at you Janie, here I am!!!

Good morning everyone..

The stairs were mastered yesterday, physio wants to keep him a couple more days and would like to have a therapist work with him here when he gets home.

Day by day there is an improvement so soon I hope he will be home.

Looks like I had better cut the grass again tonight, after I leave my van at the garage to get a rotor and a shimmy in my front end fixed......sheesh sounds like I am falling apart! :)

Better scoot....enjoy your day everyone..

Just read about your latest mishap Lloyd, mate, you sure do stick your neck out !,  we have a storm brewing out in the Channel at the moment and at last, the temp has started come down so by tomorrow things should be back to normal ! and I hope to be back in touch with you again via SKYPE, already, I can hear the rumble of thunder in the distance and the air smells a lot fresher ! so I had best shut everything off before the storm hits us, all being well ?, i'll speak with you tomorrow, so get Nancy to lock you inside for a few days and keep out of trouble !.  Cheers.    Roley.
PS.  It's here ! I think its called 'Rain'  at least, it will make the farmers happy !..

Good morning everyone, hope everyone is fine and dandy this fine morning. Sun is shining the sky a bright blue and my PC says 68°.

JANE  all the markets have meat counters and everything is wrapped. They still have the Deli counters where they slice lunch meat and cheese but it is unwrapped meat I miss, where they would show you both sides of a cut of meat or if you want a special cut they would cut it fresh for you. Those are the things I miss.

LARRY  my daughter's closest neighbors have an area where a copter can land in case of an real emergency, he is a retired naval officer and she is a retired nurse. I do worry about them being so far out.

JUNE  wonderful the Gary and Dori can finally have a long vacation.

LLOYD  good luck at the VA today.

AMY  Prayers that you bring your DH home soon. Now car trouble too? Not needed for you.

GLORIA, all the markets I mentioned are the type you miss.  This is farm country and the markets abound.  You can tell them what you want and they'll cut it exactly as you want it cut and then wrap it in butchers' paper.    We have super markets with the prewrapped meats but I'm talking about markets that cut it while you wait.  Good, local, farm grown meat.  They can tell you which farmer they got it from.

I'm off to see if Paula can find my ears!  I know they're in there somewhere but I'm not sure where.

Good Morning Everyone!

Hope everyone has a great day.  Dentist apmt later today.  Got to have one filled, very last tooth on top right.  Wouldn't you know.  Suspect she will take some impressions of the tooth I want capped.

JaneS, I like good lean beef with just a little fat for taste (flavor).  Some beef is so fatty I cant stand it.  But then others like it that way.

Good Morning all, It is cloudy right now at 9:30 a.m. and the humidity is 87. I believe the sun will break out a bit later. But like this cloudiness. Gentle on the eyes and body.

Janie, Thank you for agreeing with me. I just hate to see our Lloyd destroy himself so early in life.

Amy, I am giggling over your rotor and front end shimmy. I have that problem too whenever the music plays. Let the grass wait another day girl, it will still be there tomorrow.

roley, I wish you could share some of your rain showers with us in lower California. We are drying up more and more as the years go by.

Gloria, I think my kids are like your daughter and husband..they can't play because they keep so busy with work, so I am extra happy they are taking this time out.

Jane, how well I remember how our markets were when I was a kid. Our butcher even made the hot dogs himself, and even in Ca., up to a few years ago I could ask the butcher to cube some round steak for me. Now it is all pre-packaged. If I were 20 years younger I would move to your state.

Hal, you are fortunate to have teeth that can be repaired. I can count four vacancies in my mouth now, plus four wisdom teeth that moved out years ago. Plus four root canals. I have supported several dentists down through the years.

We are still celebrating Hawaii Luau and there will be a special luncheon today, and then a big musical program in the main  Courtyard at 12:30. I hope to attend our balance and mobility class later this afternoon, and that will be it for me today.

Checking in to see how everyone is doing.   Lloyd, hope you are home from your VA visit.... and that they helped patch you up after your last boo-boos.  I think Nancy has it right, you are an accident waiting to happen!  Behave yourself for a few days now.

Amy, happy to see your hubby is doing better and hope car and you hold together so you can get him home.  I think you are due a peaceful year, how about you?  Hugs...........

Gloria, right now I do not envy your kids in that heat.  Sorry they didn't get a better first summer to live "out in the boonies".  They are probably so happy with the new life they haven't even noticed.  Great they are in good health and living their dream.

We are expecting storms tomorrow, so far are missing the rain and my yard looks brown already.  So much to do around here and all I have done is sleep today.  Can't remember ever a spell like this... eat and over whelming sleep hits & I find a spot to lay down.  And so it goes.  Tomorrow is a busy day so may need to prop the eye lids open.  I vote for winter, snow & the whole she-bang!

Tisie. I am worn out. Our Luau was splendid, and the food was delectable, and the Hawaiian dancers fabulous.  A truly full day and this old girl is pooped. Of course I did some swaying and wiggling along with others, which means a light supper and an early to bed.

Tomorrow is housekeeper visit. It seems like she was just here, but another whole week has passed. Some times the day seems so long, but alas, the week is so short.

"Just getting old" LLOYD?  Well, welcome to the club!  We're all doing that but what the heck?  If we weren't doing that, we wouldn't even be here to talk about it.

I'm off to bed.  Tomorrow is another busy day.  I have to finish getting ready to travel for the weekend and for the cleaning dynamo on Monday.  I couldn't take the stinky dogs to my sister's so they both had baths today.  That wears me out!  Paula found my ears and all the other errands got done.  Now tomorrow, all I have to do is pack it all up.  Amazing how much it takes to move one old lady and two dogs for a weekend.

Good Night Everyfriend and may God bless us, every one!  Sleep peacefully and wake happy!

Well June, guess not all my teeth can be repaired.  Maggie, my dentist started working on the tooth and then stopped and said I have to take an xray of the tooth, it looks like it is all mushy inside it.  So one of her tech's covered me in lead and took a picture of the tooth.  Maggie came in with the results and pointed out that a filling wasn't going to fix it, possibly a root canal, if not, then I would have to have an extraction.  She was going to send it over to a specialist to see if he thought he could save it.  So what started out as a 100 buck filling is looking more like several hundred whatever is decided.   And even more expense on down the line for a cap (crown) but she was trying to cheer me up by telling me that it wouldn't be anything fancy since the tooth is the last one back and doesn't show.

Anyhow, I am tired so I am off to bed.

Nite, nite, God Bless and Sweet dreams.

Good morning Everyfriend!  I'm beginning to feel like I close up in here and then open up in the morning.  I'm sure glad I'm not responsible for the keys because I tend to lose things like keys, glasses, shoes, notes, and whatever else is necessary to begoing anywhere or doing anything.

You stay safe, too, Amy.  Drive carefully on those wet roads.

I'll be off to Wally World and I hope I get an easy checkout because I sure don't want to come home tired.  I have to pack and put whatever I can in the car today.  The big stuff got done yesterday.  Today will be the "putzing" and the trying to remember if I did or packed certain things.

We're supposed to get more thurnderstorms today and I hope the doggies are too frightened while I'm not home.  I worry about that.  I pretty sure they take refuge under my desk and that's the safest place for them.

I hope you all have a lovely day.  Enjoy doing whatever it is you choose to do.

well see no comment's about putting honey on wounds .but was told to me by a retired Nurse friend , i tried it and shows remarkable results in healing so far.

Amy--A good morning to you.  We have had a week of rain--along with tornado, flash floods and strong winds.

Good morning, Janie.  I do hope your day at WM is easy so you are not exhausted when starting your travel/visit weekend.

Lloyd--Good morning.  I never heard of putting honey on wounds.

Good morning on this kind of gray morning.  I think we are going to get some of the remnants of the hurricane from down south,

Joan, it is always so good to see a message from you.  I do hope that you are getting settled in your new place.  I am sure it will take a little while to find out all the new things around you now.   From what you have told us, it sounds like it is a nice place. I know your family are all so glad that you are near by .

Jane,  safe travels to you on your weekend getaway,  And, hope your morning will go by quickly with all pleasant customers,  Our local Walmart has just started the same on-line and pick-up service that Larry has talked about.  I am going to try it and see how it goes.  If it works out, it will be a big help for me.  My son or daughter-in-law have to go right by my place to get there, so they will be able to pick up my order,.  I sure am hoping it will go smoothly,

Amy, hope your husband continues to improve and gets back home soon.

Hope everyone wlll have a great day and a good week end.

Hi everyone. Our cooler days seem to be over as we are headed to 94 degrees this afternoon and no rain possibility at least until this evening.

Yesterday was a very full day but I did get my desktop computer back in good shape.  There are just a few more things I need to do like set up a new checkbook program.  I don't need anything elaborate as use it only to reconcile the bank statement and keep track of a running uncommitted funds totals in the bank.

I rested about 90 minutes yesterday but no nap so was very tired last night and got a good 9 hours of sleep.  However, I am feeling the effects of such a busy day and I won't push it today and will try to get more rest.  I got up and got ready for the day about 7:30 this morning and then decided I could lay back down for an hour or so and read my email, my morning readings and then read through all of the postings here in the discussions before finally getting up.

I plan to stay in all day today.  I do need to make Pat some more sausage muffins and grate a couple of pounds of cheese.  I also told her I would fix some coleslaw to go with our fish or dinner this evening.

I see I was tired when I last posted and said it ws Friday evening when in reality it was late Wednesday evening.  Another of those pesky senior moments.

June, I have come to believe that Pastors have one of the harder jobs to do as there are so many demands on their time and most of the congregation is probably unaware of most of it.  A Pastor's spouse's role is also a difficult one as so many others make demands on the Pastor's time.

JaneS, hope your trip preparations are about done and that you will have a great weekend with your sister as you and your dogs have a weekend trip.

Amy, sorry to read that your husbands has taken several steps backward in his recovery.  I expect he was looking forward to coming home in a couple of days and now a further delay.

Roley, glad you were getting some rain yesterday and having some cooler weather.

Gloria, I was glad to read that your daughter and SIL do have some medical care close by and helicopter service if needed in an emergency.

Hal, I think one reason I always hate going to the dentist is what you experienced, i.e., going in for something and being told it is something else that will be a lot more expensive.  Like you I don't like a lot of fat on meat and usually cut it all away.

June, it sounds like you enjoyed a very festive and busy day yesterday.

Shirley, it sure doesn't take much severe heat to dry out and brown our lawns.  The rain we have had has given me a very nice green lawn but expect I will need to water it on Monday if we get no more rain today or over the weekend.  We have sandy/clay type soil and it dries out quickly.

Lloyd, it sounds like your VA doctor told you what you already know.  Glad you stayed safe yesterday and please do the same today.  Glad the honey treatment for the injuries has helped and is working.

Jane, you and a couple others do a great job in getting us started each day and ending the day as well.  I am a morning person but usually not very early do I start posting.  I hope you have an easy checkout today.

Joan, I have been watching the weather reports for down your way.  Sure glad that tropical storm didn't turn into a hurricane.

Joy, I hope you really like the Walmart online grocery ordering.  The pick up is very easy and a person can stay in their car if they wish.  I hope you don't get too much rain today.  We had some of the outer bands of that storm give us rains for a couple of days and clouded skies.  I think it will be sunny today.

Good morning everyone, seems like ages since I was here this early. We will be having a fire department inspection today in all the apartments. They will start at 9am and who knows where ther will begin,Yesterday was the kind of day summer should be, low humidity and in low 80's with a good breeze. This morning the humidity is back.

JANE  now the meat markets you have are what I wish we still had around here. All we have now is prepackaged meat and who know froms where and what the cattle were fed. At least I can get eggs from a farm and milk from a local dairy that claims they do not feed their herd all those chemicals they feed animals these days. Frying chickens are so big these days and even Cornish hens are almost as big as we used to get fryers.

HAL  I am with you, just enough fat for flavor, not so much that one can make a good size burger and by the time it is cooked it lost half the size.

JUNE  glad that my daughter and SIL are enjoying their new life. They are not rushing to get everything done there, doing it as the weather and their mood takes it.

SHIRLEY  they are staying inside most of the time right now in the boonies. Early morning and early evening are when they go outside. She has to go out and water her "experimental garden" twice a day in that heat. A neighbor told them this was the hottest they have had since moving there. I agree, winter cold and snow are better than the heat humidity and drought.

LLOYD  time for you to give up the machinery and enjoy your woodworking. You do beautiful work and I imagine you could sell everything you create.

JANE  I would hate to try getting ready for a week end away from home. Just getting ready for an appointment tires me. I did sleep good but not looking forward to the folks from the fire department and the manager going through my apartment looking for fire hazards. I cannot see where I have any but just having them checking everything to me is like an invasion of privacy.

HAL  for me I would have the tooth extracted. I feel at my age I would no go through all the work and expense to save a tooth.

AMY  slow down and let the grass grow before you wear yourself out. You will need some of that energy when your DH goes home again.

LLOYD  honey is great for healing and so many things. We do need those honey bees for their honey and their pollinating the food we eat.

JOAN  I have been wondering how you were doing with all that rain there.  We are in for some of the rain from the storm. Yesterday was a beautiful day but this morning it is humid and overcast again.

LARRY  I was happy to hear about the spot for a dopter landing.. That couple is their closest neighbors.

Hospital Bill...

A man suffered a serious heart attack while shopping in a store.
The store clerk called 000 when they saw him collapse to the floor.

The paramedics rushed the man to the nearest hospital where he had emergency open heart bypass surgery.

He awakened from the surgery to find himself in the care of nuns at the Catholic Hospital .

A nun was seated next to his bed holding a clipboard loaded with several forms, and a pen.

She asked him how he was going to pay for his treatment.   "Do you have health insurance?" she asked.

He replied in a raspy voice, "No health insurance."

The nun asked, "Do you have money in the bank?"

He replied, "No money in the bank."

Do you have a relative who could help you with the payments?" asked the irritated nun.

He said, "I only have a spinster sister, and she is a nun."

The nun became agitated and announced loudly, "Nuns are not spinsters!

Nuns are married to God."

The patient replied, "Perfect.   Send the bill to my brother-in-law."

Joan, it is good to see a post from you this morning.  It looks like you have had all sorts of weather the past few days.

Hal, I had the start of a crown at the dentist this morning.  It was almost painless.  I don't agree with Gloria about having a tooth removed at my age.  I am not happy about another crown, but I'd rather have that than a gap in my teeth.

I'm glad to see you post here, Cotton Candy, come back and join us.

A good Friday HELLO to all.

I woke up to a cool 53* morning.....burrr.  Our high today is only to be in the mid 60's!  Not even sure it will make it as it is nearly 2 PM and it is only 57!

Nice to see you joining us, COTTONCANDY.  I hope you will post again.  It is always nice to have a new friend in our group.

My hubby has been suffering with gout.  He only had this appear once before way back in 2010.  We went to our doc to pick up something for me, and they did see him and prescribed a z pack, so he is feeling much better today.  Those darn steroids sure a magical fix, but sadly they are not good at all for us.  He does not fit the typical thoughts that most think cause gout, so not sure why the flare up.

Thank you, GLORIA, for the good laugh, Hospital Bill.

Sure hope the weather has settled down in your area, JOAN.  That Cindy sure did cause some damages along the coast line.

JANIE, I hope your work day proved to not be too hard on you so you can prepare for your weekend of fun.   Enjoy.

The dryer is calling my name, so off I go.

Have a good rest of your day.

Jenny

Jenny, I too suffer from Gout and take medication daily for it (Allopurinol).  Some doctors will tell you it is from too rich of food and drink and others say they really don't know.  Some years back my doctor told me:  If it is any consolation people who suffer from Gout "normally" have higher than normal intelligence.  I still don't know what causes mine, some of the stupid things I do leaves me out of the later.   ;D

I was in earlier, but did not post. It was housekeeping morning, but that was no excuse for not posting.....so I have no excuse for not saying something. I know I dove into investigating the medical use of honey, so have tried it on a spot on my leg. I did find that the properties lie strongest in Manuka honey.

Here is more interesting material on the healing properties of honey. I find it fascinating.

Indeed, medicinal importance of honey has been documented in the world's oldest medical literatures, and since the ancient times, it has been known to possess antimicrobial property as well as wound-healing activity. The healing property of honey is due to the fact that it offers antibacterial activity, maintains a moist wound condition, and its high viscosity helps to provide a protective barrier to prevent infection. Its immunomodulatory property is relevant to wound repair too. The antimicrobial activity in most honeys is due to the enzymatic production of hydrogen peroxide.
Honey is gaining acceptance as an agent for the treatment of ulcers, bed sores and other skin infections resulting from burns and wounds. The healing properties of honey can be ascribed to the fact that it offers antibacterial activity, maintains a moist wound environment that promotes healing, and has a high viscosity which helps to provide a protective barrier to prevent infection.
The support for using honey as a treatment regimen for peptic ulcers and gastritis comes from traditional folklore as well as from reports in modern times
The antimicrobial agents in honey are predominantly hydrogen peroxide.
The above information on honey for healing are sections I selected from here :https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3609166/
so if you like you can  search farther.

my lower legs are in very poor condition due to clogged arteries, so I am going to experiment with rubbing hydrogen peroxide of the left leg and commercial honey of the right leg and see if it can strengthen the skin against injury. Even a scratch can take a long time to heal, so I will have fun experimenting. [color=blue

I'm familiar with gout, Cas had a terrible time with it.  He would have it act up every time he drank the Welch's grape juice I kept for myself (since I can't drink OJ)... or when he ate grapes.  Never could convince him not to eat or drink grape anything, but he insisted that "grapes aren't on the list not to eat with gout".  Told him that his big toe didn't read that list!  I don't drink OJ because I get sores on my tongue when I do.... but I can eat oranges once a year when they are in season & picked fairly ripe.  We aren't all alike so best to know your own body, right?  Good luck to all having allergy problems....

I finally got several photos posted over in Photos, not the best but will try to get more off the camera one of these days.  Been working on the pool today, everything out of hand being gone for a week & half.  I think I am getting lazy.  Delivered the baked chicken with potatoes plus a watermelon cut bite size... to my friend.  Her son had just finished putting a "peep hole" in the front door and a son-in-law was putting in a new type lock.  She lives in a gated community but near the gate, & those gates only keep cars out, not the people that break in!  Was good to see the kids & have food appreciated.  The chicken smelled so good I am thinking of making it again for myself.  Not tonight  ::)........I can hardly keep my eyes open.

Joan, listening to the storm news & thoughts of the vacation home your kids have, sounded like they may have had damage.  Do hope I'm wrong.

Sweet dreams to all, God Bless and send a wonderful tomorrow.  Shirley

I'm up and attem!  My suitcase is packed and my tote bag is almost packed.  Just have to add my eye drops after I shower and use them this morning.  I'm going for breakfast at my daughter's at 8:30 or so and then when they leave to go watch the parade, I'll come home, load up the doggies and the fridge stuff and take off for my sister's. I hope you all have a great day

Good morning everyone, cloudy this morning here with rain in the forecast.

LLOYD  my son has 4 beehives. Of course he has the bee outfit he puts on when he has to work at them.

COTTONCANDY  nice seeing you post here.  Lloyd is full of information about a lot of things, learned from the school of life. Hope you post more often here. We are a friendly group.

MARY ANN  it is getting harder to sit in a dentist chair so for me the easiest is having the tooth extracted.

JENNY  53° is cool at this time of year but I bet you slept good with it cooler. I know my daughter would enjoy it. Even in the mountains where they now live it has been in the 100's.  While we boil with humidity she bakes with dry heat. I loved that Hospital bill and glad you did, too.

HAL  you do stupid thing? I don't believe it. But higher intelligence? Hmm I wonder about that.

JUNE  if you can find natural honey from an orchard it is better than the commercial kind that can be mixed with inferior honey. The pure honey is the best. I hope you can find something for your legs like I wish I could find something for my back. The shots are not working so will talk to my doctor on next visit.

SHIRLEY  I think you do too much all the time. You have a big house to keep clean and I know a pool is a lot of work. Yours more so because no one uses it. Like you I was thinking of Joe's vacation house and hoing it withstood that surf.

JANE  safe driving and enjoy your week end.

JOAN  good seeing you this morning. Any word on Joe's house on the island? I sure hope it was not damaged.

Good morning Gloria.  The road/street to get to Joe's beach house at Dauphin Island are flooded so they cannot go check but police reports say all dwellings are standinge.

Good Morning Everyone!

Well it is the weekend and looks as if some of you have a big on planned, like Janie.  I know she and her sister will have some catching up to do on family things.

About the honey on wounds.  how do you keep from getting the sticky everywhere.  I cant even eat a piece of toast with honey on it and not get it all over everything.  So I don't know how June is going to manage without putting a good bandage on.

Well had something really strange happen yesterday afternoon.  The stand I keep my fireplace poker, shovel and tongs, etc on just collapsed when I put the poker back after using to get something behind the entertainment center.  Anyhow I thought something had just worked loose and I gathered up the stand and found the top holder had broken half in two.  How that happened I have no idea.  I didn't do anything to it, just placed the poker back on to the stand.  And the think is cast iron and heavy as can be.  So now I have to figure something out on how to repair, I need Lloyd and his blacksmith expertness.  Larry I also thought, who do I know who has a 3D printer.  I haven;t checked real close, but I don't think there is any company logo or name I can try to find for another part.

Well our weather guessers say 40 percent chance of rain today and tomorrow, which means there is a 60 percent chance it wont rain.  Yeah, that's me the optimist!  But seems like it can rain everywhere but at my house.

Everyone have a great day.

Hi everyone. Hi everyone.  The day is starting out sunny and we have a good chance of some rain this afternoon and evening. It looks like we will get to the low 90s for awhile this afternoon.  I had another good nights sleep of about nine hours and feel good this morning.  Yesterday morning I managed to wear myself down to a nub.  I have a quieter day planned today.  I will attend my 10:30 am meeting and this afternoon tune in to the PGA Golf match.  I did watch quite a bit of it yesterday afternoon.

Gloria, hope the fire department inspection wasn't too intrusive.  I am sure they had a limited area of inquiry and not like a general apartment inspection from management.  Good joke.

Cottoncandy, as several have already indicated, we hope you will join us in our daily discussions here.  A new person is always welcome.

Lloyd, I don't think I had heard that honey is safe for diabetics.

Jenny, your area has many different temperature changes so guess it doesn't get boring.  Here we mainly have hot.  It was already 83 degrees when I got up this morning.  Sorry to hear that your husband is suffering from gout.  Pat has had that a couple of times and so know it is a terrible pain.

Hal, glad to see there might be one advantage from having gout if it indicates higher than normal intelligence.

June, thanks for sharing the information on the medical benefits of using honey.

Shirley, you are a very thoughtful and caring person.  The food you prepared and gave to your friend was a wonderful gesture of caring.

Joan, hope the reports of the dwellings still standing are indicators of not much or no damage.  Is his beach house built up on those stilt type supports?

Hal, I never would have thought of having a 3D printer part made for the poker.  You must have given that poker hard use over the years.  We have no need for that implement in this house as have an electric fireplace but seldom have turned it on other than to demonstrate it.  I don't even remember what we did with your fireplace tools.

Gloria, getting back to dentists - I went to my first dentist for probably 35-40 years before he retired.  He had a chair with an upright back and I do not recall it being able to be put back so the patient was lying down.  I also recall trying to open my mouth as far as it would go (and I am neither Martha Raye or Joe E Brown - remember them?).  After he retired I went to a new dentist and was surprised to see the "relaxing" chairs now in use.  Also other equipment made it unnecessary to open my mouth so wide and my jaws didn't ache any more.  I have been with this dental practice for 40 years.  My original dentist at this practice died and a young doctor took his place - and I like him.

I think we are to have a nice day today, in the mid-70s.

Joan, I hope Joe finds nothing major was done to his Dauphin Island home.

Mary Ann

Larry, it wasn't the poker that broke.  It was the stand that holds the fireplace implements.  We don't use them anymore, we have gas ,fireplace.  But set was given to us as a gift when we got this house by my step mother, so has lots of sentimental value.

Good afternoon.   Pretty sunshine now, after a little rain very early this morning.  By the time I was up around 6,  it was beginning to clear off.  I  think it is supposed to be a little cooler this week.

Joan, so nice to hear from you.  I, too, hope that your son's beach house didn't get much damage.

Larry, I have placed an order with Walmart and have a time frame for tomorrow morning.  Between 9 and 9:30.  Do you get a call or an e-mail telling you it is ready?  I am supposed to get an e-mail about 15 min. before telling me the order is ready.  Then, I will call a special number and let them know I am on the way.  My DIL  is going to pick it up, but I am going with her this first time.  It was pretty easy making up the order and it sounds like it will be easy to pick up the order.  I am anxious just to see how everything is. I did order a few produce items, so I am particularly anxious to see them.  As, I usually don't like Walmart's produce.  But,  hopefully,  I still  will get to go to a produce stand once in a while over the summer.  I have to depend on someone taking me and I don't like to bother my family that often.  My DIL does go by a nice produce stand on her way home from work, so  she does stop once in a while and picks up some fresh veggies.  They only live about 10 min. from me and they have to go right past my place to get to Walmart and another grocery store, so it usually works out pretty well.  Just so difficult when you have to give up your independence and have to depend on other people to do things for you.    I know that Gloria has the same problems.

Time for lunch, so hope everyone will have a nice afternoon.

Joy

I lost my crown!  Well, the crown on a back tooth just installed last week - came off while dipping bread in a broth.  Crum bum

Cotton Candy:  Where in SW TX?  We lived in Plano for 9 years - transferred from a tiny town in Minnesota.  Loved the TX attitude!

Lloyd - thank Heaven for your safety.  Try to stay out of trouble.

Gloria:  Good thoughts from you!

Jenny:  Sorry that Bob is suffering gout.  It is supposed to be very painful.

Shirley:  Lazy - that will be the day when you are ever lazy.

Joan:  Always great to see you posting.

We are back from high altitude.  Spotted one yearling moose walking in the pond where we were fishing.  Too many people taking pictures until one man (resident) yelled - "let the moose go where it wants to go" and you could see the little one was stressed.  Finally, people stepped back - the moose was eyeing a small dog and that is not a good sign.   Don caught 3 good size Rainbow Trout and released them.  The trout stole all of my bait.  The morning we left, there was ice on the car so it was freezing.  .

Joy:  Let anyone help you who mentions they would like to run an errand for you. We love to help our neighbors when needed and they in turn have been generous with us.  Hopefully, you will have great veggies to choose.

Carol,

I have never really run into too many people who very readily offer to help.  Most of the people where I live are all in need of help themselves.   I  have also found people who won't take anyone in their car who have to use a walker or a cane.  And, in the area where I live,  there is no public transportation.  Several county run transportation services, but you have to go on their schedule.  I am very willing to pay someone at times when I need transportation, but that kind of help is very scarce in my area.  There is a one taxi service, and one time,  I paid $60 to go about 6 miles.  Not too many seniors can afford those prices.

I have 2 sons who live close by and they are available if I really need them.  I have 2 daughter-in=laws who do see that I get to my doctor appts.  But, just the fact, that you can't just pick up and go when you want to can be a little depressing.  But, I try to manage as good as I can.  Just not like it was.  However, I am grateful that I can still live on my own and take care of myself and my apartment.  And, I enjoy reading so I spend a lot of time reading and of course,  my computer is my lifeline to the world.  I can go anyplace I want via the internet.  LOL

I, too, liked to help people when I was able to.  For most of my younger life,  it seems my mother was always taking care of somebody.  Had an aunt that lived with us for a while,  and several  sick relatives that she took care of.  I know it gave me a lot of satisfaction to help out at various times.

I know where I live, an Independent Living Senior Apartments, there are many residents who do have relatives that could help, but they hardly come around.   And, there are people here who do not have any family members to help them.  And, some of those situations are very sad. Heartbreaking when they will tell you that they never see or hear anything from their children or get to see their grandchildren.  And, this place does not offer any kind of transportation help.

Thanks, tho, for your imput.

Joy

Janie, do enjoy your weekend with you sister. I am so glad you have your sisters. I am the last of my clan, but happy to have my kids and their kids, and their kids, kids. God is Good.

Bis, So very very happy to see your smiling face and post this morning. I am coming in late again..late for all that do not live on the left coast that is.  I hope your stormy weather is a thing of the past. What floor is your apartment on ? This is a shot of my floor plan, much smaller that yours, but it is all that I need.

Gloria, I smeared my right lower leg with honey last night, and put on a paper bandage to keep my clean sheet clean. the bandage fell off during the night and I woke with a sticky leg. Had a good shower, and will just use a small area as a trial test that can be taped on easily. But I will continue with the test. My legs are not curable as the problem starts with the arteries that nothing external will cure, but the skin itself itches and discolors and roughens so the use of the honey is what I'm looking at.

Hal, my  use of honey is explained above. It can be a sticky mess for sure. but if one has a small sore that can be easily bandaged is would be comfortable. From just an overnight test, the leg with the hydrogen peroxide looks and feels better than the honeyed leg. My sister in law cured her gum disease by gargling with hydrogen peroxide.

Larry, in my estimation the honey cure is surely for an open injury that needs to be bandaged. The honey seals the sore and protects it from germs, and the action that honey gives out Hydrogen preroxide heals the sore. I am not a doctor as you all well know…it is just what is going on in my brain.

Time for me to prepare to go down for lunch. I'm going to eat a half serving today and go back down for supper…oven fried chicken tonight….my favorite.

Joy:  Your note on your lack of transportation conditions makes me feel sad.  It is hard for me to think that there are no people in the area who see the need for transportation when there is a senior living site.  $60 for 6 miles is a disgusting price to pay. My only suggestion is to have the subject brought up in meetings.  Everyone, including groups such as churches or synagogues many not be aware of this issue.  Best to you and all who live in your building.

Here at Rowntree Gardens we have a young man that furnishes transportation for 16 dollars an hour. I have used him for trips to the doctor, and he stays with me at all times. The most I have ever paid is $22.50. He handles my cart, and walks beside me in case I need more help. A very attentive young man. I feel very fortunate living here. They really care.

Adding to your discussion about transportation ~ IT is a serious issue among the aged..... It's not easy to obtain such , especially in Rural America.
$1.00 per loaded mile is the rate here by a  Northland Area Agency on Aging, to assist the Elderly and Poor..... thus to obtain transportation to a Medical Facility where many procedures and specialists are 67 miles away the round trip is $134.00
Most cannot afford such...
So folks Pray for those without medical attention due to .

Hi, Mycheal ! Good to see you posting. You are so correct, transportation for the elderly is a grave problem. Prayers will be said.

Lloyd, You were very thoughtful to help out Nancy by doing your work clothes in the old washer. You are a kind  husband and I'm sure your Nancy appreciates you. I am thankful that you are taking better care of yourself too.

I went down for our hymn sing tonight after supper and it was very restful. Tomorrow will be Chapel service and then a day of rest. Of course for me every day is a day of rest, and I am very grateful for that.

Have a Good Night dear ones. I love you all. June

I m going to later going to make my jalapeno casserole and have some of the grand and great grand's over for Noon meal. I boiled a dozen eggs yesterday pealed them and cut them and cut them into long way, took the yellows out and turned them over to Nancy she dose a better job of mixing the fillings than I do (taster also). I will see  if she will give me a ideal about what to fix for the little ones that they like and eat. see you all later.

Looking to be a nice day here with no rain I hope. Grass is growing so fast that the lawn mower seat doesn't have time to cool off!!

Yesterday was a better day, I took hubby on a tour of the hospital ,actually several tours of the hospital. Drs are thinking maybe his meds are the cause of his problem so time will tell.

Sorry for not posting to everyone but I need to gather a few things up and the neighbour is running me into town to pick up my van, this time it was my front brakes that needed repair.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Amy, bless your heart, things are keeping you on the road.  Prayers are being said and hopefully things will improve so you can take DH home soon.  I know you must want to get into your garden and take care of it.  Give my best to DH.

This Sunday morning starts out sunny and pleasant.  We are to get only into the high 80's this afternoon.  We had a couple of fairly brief but good rain showers yesterday afternoon so won't need to use the sprinklers tomorrow.

I anticipate a very pleasant day as we will go to Sunday School and Church and then out to eat somewhere.  I will rest, listen to Don's classical music program for a couple of hours and watch golf this afternoon. Then we will have a quiet evening.

I don't have a lot of time to spend on the discussions this morning although have read each postings since yesterday.

Mary Ann, my dental hygienist uses a dental chair that is about 30 years old or more but has the most comfortable neck rest.  On many of the new chairs I have to ask for a little pillow to put under my neck as the neck piece doesn't fit well.

Hal, if you can find a shop that welds you can probably get the fireplace stand fixed.

Joy, we do eat an email letting us know the order is ready for pickup from Walmart.  I also usually get a text with the same information.  The call we make to them just gives them time to get the frozen things from the freezer area and be sure your order is all together.  I hope you like the service as it sure saves a lot of time and energy.  I will be interested in your experience with the produce. I suppose people are afraid of liability issues if they give rides to people with canes or walkers.  People here in the South are very friendly and a couple of times when loading groceries in my car truck I have had someone come over and help me or take the riding cart back to the store.  People also speak to each other here.

June, have you ever tried the elastic tape that doesn't stick to your skin but wraps around the arm or leg and keeps bandages in place.  Where I have blood work done they use it and it is great as it sticks to itself and not to you.  I do hope the honey treatment is helpful to you.  I don't even like the feel of lotion so know that using honey probably wouldn't be my thing although might well try it on a burn.  That sure sounds like a nice young man who provides your transportation.

mycheal, I can see why transportation  even on a seniors type bus would be problematic for many folks living on a very small income.

Lloyd, those red faces (frowny faces) on the CPAP dial are not nice to get.  Pat had one a couple of nights ago when she couldn't get her mask to seal but seemed to do well last night.

Amy, are the doctors going to adjust your husbands medications.  I bet he enjoyed getting out of his hospital room for the tours you gave him yesterday.

Joan, I hope you and all who visit here also have a blessed Sunday.  So good to see your postings again.

Good morning on this pretty sunny morning.

Larry, I saw your message this morning  and I wanted to let you know  that my first experience with the Walmart's online shopping service was a big success.

Since I don't have a smart phone,  I was supposed to get an e-mail.  My time slot was between 9 and 10 a.m. this morning.  My daughter-in-law was waiting for me, so at 9 a.m. I decided to call the special number they had given me.  A very nice young girl told me the order was ready.  The store is less than 10 min. away. There were all kinds of signs directing you to the pick=up area and I think there were about 8 or 9 parking spots. We were the only one there and as soon as we pulled up, the girl came out with the order.  My DIL put all the cold things in my insulated bag and they loaded everything else in the car.  I already had my receipt and we left.   Brought everything in, unpacked everything, as my DIL took the plastic bags for her cat litter box, and it was not even 45 min. that all that took.  I just cant believe how easy and smooth the whole process was.  And, from what I see, all my produce looks great.  So, I sure will be using that service again.  And, early Sunday morning worked out great for my DIL.

I asked the girl how it was working out and she said they have been so busy and things were working out well, so far.

I will still go once in a while for other things, but it sure will save me a lot of time and energy,   like you mentioned.

Yes, I think you are right about people afraid of liability issues.  There is one girl who comes here to help one of the residents and I asked her one day about what she charges and if she would be able to take me to the store or doctor's.  She said "No", because  her insurance wouldn't cover her taking me in the car.  I know she takes this other lady that she helps, so I don't guess she just didn't want an added job. She did tell me she charges $10 an hour and I know that she does a lot for this lady.  She is here several days a week.  Her charge is reasonable.  She is the only person that I know that comes here that does that.

My DIL is planning on retiring next year, and I told her she should start a driving service for some of the people who live where I do.  It is a big problem for a lot of the residents.  I don't know what kind of extra insurance you would need.

Good morning, Joan.  So good to see you this morning.

Amy, sorry you have had car trouble.  On top of your husband's medical problems,  that was one thing you didn't need.

Good morning, MaryAnn.  And, you, too June, Hal,  Lloyd and mycheal.

Hope everyone will have a nice Sunday.

Joy
