Hi everyone.  It is a bright and sunny morning here and headed up to about 85 degrees this afternoon.  I have a full morning planned as need to stop at the bank for some cash.  Then will pick up my friend who lives just up the street from the bank and we will go to coffee.  I will bring him home and then stop at the barbershop in the Walmart Shopping Center as really need a haircut.  Finally, will go on over to the Walmart to pick up two prescriptions and get a couple of other items.  I will come home and have lunch and then will take it easy for the rest of the day.

Hal, glad to see you were feeling better yesterday and hope there is another improvement today.

JaneS, we sure needed to get those problems of the world solved.  I guess you should meet more often as new problems seem too pop up each day.  :) It sounds like you have known these folks for many years. It sounds like you have a busy day planned for today.

Lloyd, if you use an external video cam rather than a built in if your haven't done so check to see if the connection has come lose. You could also try rebooting the computer as sometimes that will correct problems. At least the typed messages in response to what you are hearing gives you a way to communicate.

Jenny, Pat was able to get a riding cart as they got there before Costco opened.  Jennifer went along with her and they had a successful trip. On the way home they stopped at the local produce stand and got fresh strawberries and sweet corn.

Gloria, I agree that having a room painted black was not important and so much better than having your boys get into drugs or other troubles. I bet they know they have a very "cool" mother.

Glad that several of you enjoyed the humming bird/dog video.  It has to be a bit of unique experience.

Shirley, sorry that your cats have to get those rabies shots but better safe than sorry.  I think I would ask to speak to the vet about having them given in your motor home as you shouldn't have to deal with those heavy cat crates.

Amy, I hope for your sake that today will be the last vet visit for awhile and that Golden Girl will complete healing on her own.

Sandy

Good Morning Everyone from the unfortunately over cast,  rocky coast of Maine.

Gloria

Good morning everyone, looks like I made up for the sleepless night. Woke at 7 this morning, pulled up the shades and laid on the couch and slept another couple of hours.

SHIRLEY you sure have spoiled those cats. Good thing you are not here because there are several feral cats in the area. This town's animal control once a year sets up cages and catches them, spay or neuter them, check them over and when satisfied that they are in good health will return them and set them free. It has helped because there are less than half of those that were here when I moved here.

JANE  wish I could get here as often as I used to but eye doc said to cut my PC time down until he sees me again. I am beginning to think  that Restasis is not doing anything but making my eyes itchy and feel like I have sand in my eyes.

AMY  good luck with your Golden being all healed at last. On Monday morning when my CNA called from downstairs I was still sleeping. Good thing she knows me or she would have left. She waited till I had time to get in here and called up again so I could let her in.

JANE  looks like it rained here overnight, too. My windows were closed so no problem.

LARRY  I don't think I was ever “cool” but why make a fuss about something they enjoyed? They needed one parent who loved them enough to let it go.

Have a great day everyone. I hope JOAN will feel up to another short visit today.

Good Morning all, I can't believe I posted only once yesterday. That's life.....memory is here in the morning and off wandering someplace later on.

Was hoping for an "hello" from our Girl Bis, but we will be thankful for yesterdays greeting.

Sandy, I hope you are still feeling fine after your fall yesterday. Sometimes the second day is the worst. I wish you Joy in spite of the weather.

Amy, sounds like you are going to be a busy bee, as usual.

Larry, I'm glad Pat was able to get out and about yesterday. It must have been a joy for her, choosing her produce and just being "out".

All is quiet here, I do plan to go down to our Bargains and Blessings Rummage shop. It is located in the Acacia building basement. I found two heavy plastic bowls that my six inch flower pot fit in perfectly for watering. I bought two I need two more. The place is packed with bargains..most of it good stuff. And then I am "on call" for postage due when the mail man comes. Other than that, I am Freeeeeee.....
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Amy

Yippieee, no more going to the vet unless things change.Even though the drive is long it always hold something interesting to see. This morning I saw a crow tackle two wild turkeys, I would have thought the size of the turkeys would be intimidating to the crow.

Getting some laundry caught up as we will be away all day tomorrow. I let the neighbour know that we are taking the dogs with us and while hubby is in having chemo I can check on the dogs if need be, they are great in a vehicle and usually sleep for the most part.

I hear the washer calling me, makes me wish so many appliances didn't know my name!!!

Good Afternoon Everyone,
Today is the last day for my antibiotics, thank goodness, maybe tomorrow I can start to feel like a human again and get some strength back.

I missed my bible study today, just couldn't be bothered with getting cleaned up and making my way to the church.  I got an email wanting to know how I was.

Janie, if you find any spare bills laying around save me a couple.

CallieOK

Good Afternoon, Everyfriend,

Hal - glad you're about through with the antibiotic and hope you feel like yourself again very soon.

Yesterday morning,  I made the rounds of the various plant places and got flowers for the back yard pots.  After lunch,  I "crashed" until about 4:00 and then planted the 6 small patio pots.
Am trying something new this year - a New Zealand Impatiens.  My neighbor had one last year and it was gorgeous -- big blooms and very colorful.   I've put mine in a pot on the step outside the patio door with coleus in two smaller pots just below it.  Also put begonias in two small rectangular planters at the patio edge and a citronella plant where it should keep away the mosquitos this summer.

The weather is very gray and gloomy today and we had some brief morning showers.  So I intended to wait until this weekend to put four plants in the two planters in the flower beds.

However, after lunch, there was nothing showing on the radar screen so I went out and finished my project.
Each bright blue ceramic planter has  an orange marigold, a red salvia, a yellow "something" (forgot the name  ::) ) and a  grayish Lamb's Ear.

The perennials that my son planted last year are beginning to bud out and I'm hopeful that it will be a very colorful summer in my back yard.

Oh - and also greased the bird feeder pole because I chased a young squirrel off the suet feeder and he challenged me by scooting back up the pole when I left the window.   After I'd greased the pole,  he sneaked back - but, after two unsuccessful tries, he gave up.   :nahna:

Now I'm ready to crash again - probably until news time.

Hope Everyfriend Everywhere is having an Enjoyable Day.

JaneS

CALLIE, I'm so envious!  I can't even grow grass.  My genius Gardener father once told me "It's a good thing your better at growing children thatn you are at growing plants or all you kids would be dead."  Unfortunately, there's a lot of truth in that statement. '

Now I'm off to pick up Kiran and her friend and visit the library.  I am good at that!

We'll see how things are in July!   I'm more like my Aunt Esther who said her thumb wasn't green; it was just dirty.   ;D

Jeanne Lee

What a treat to see a post from Joan!

I've had a couple of "off" days - nothing wrong, just no oomph.  And to add to that, I spent most of Tuesday afternoon trying to get things straight with Spectrum (TimeWarner that was).  Talk about frustrating!

And the house is finally feeling like its normal size, not the big and empty space  it was after son and grandson left to back to New Jersey.

Have been to our Trash and Treasures, and the other two bowls I wanted were still there. Before that I had a visitor from Palliative Care. She is a real sweet girl, and though I am not a member of Palliative Care we are friends, and I always enjoy her company.
Next on my agenda will be lunch downstairs, then home to take a nice read and nap.

Amy, I am hoping that you will not have to make a return trip to have the ear cared for. You have a full plate in caring for your beloved husband. I am SO proud of you for all you do, but I know that you love your life, and I am happy for you.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Don's cousin and wife are on the road and they invited us to stay with them in Minneapolis - well, Don is already planning a drive.  I need to recuperate here first and we both have all our medical appointments in May.  Tonight, it may snow in the Denver area and it turned really fast so I can see the fierce clouds - raining first.  Our dear neighbor is experiencing new health issues -

Jane:  Footprints on the ceiling - don't tell my children because they may still be thinking of something new for me to ponder.

Shirley:  One of our sons is very allergic to cats and even has hives if they are near.  He is the only one in the family with that issue.

One of the boys carved his initials on a dresser and blamed his toddler brother.  Of course, we believed him.

Gloria:  We never had a black room - you must have the patience of a saint!  Love the story.

Daphne:  I missed it - where you mentioned taking a fall.  So sorry - that is always a shock to the system.

Jeanne:  Here is to you finding your oomph again!  Take care.

JaneS

I almost forgot the handwriting on the wall....

I was putting things in the laundry chute and I saw a few (Identifying) words written on the wall.  I called out, "who wrote on the wall in here".  All four kids and my husband responded to the call.  My husband said "It wasn't me".  The little ones all said "writing? with a definite question mark after it.  Cathy, the oldest, said "writing? where?"  I knew it was her because Cindy was just beginning kindergarten and the twins were attending nursery school.  When she got to where I was Cathy said, "Mommy, I'm sorry.  It was me.  She knew she was the only one who could write...and she knew I knew that too.

I will keep an eye open for you,  Cheerio for the moment,  Cheers.   Roley.

Good morning Everyfriend!  I'll be off to WM this morning.  Wish me smiles.  After I finish, I need to pick up a few things and then I'll be home for the weekend.

My young fella who cut my grass and did some gardening things for me last summer will be back this summer.  He's coming by on Saturday to discuss what needs to be done and will take the lawn mower in my shed for a repair estimate.  If he can get it fixed, he won't have to bring one here to do my grass.

I hope you all have a day filled with whatever you choose.  Enjoy!

No footprints on the ceiling, no writing on the wall, but did any of you discover a puddle of pee in the bathtub?

After the 6 year old suggested the culprit might be his 6 month old sister, the german shepherd, even Daddy (9 year old brother stood right next to him so wasn't mentioned), he finally explained that he'd been trying to drown a centipede.

Hi everyone.  It looks like we will be getting up to 87 degrees this afternoon with only a slight chance of rain.  Today is the day for the housekeeper to be here and then we plan on going out to eat in the late afternoon for our main meal and as far as I know there is nothing else on the calendar for today. I do have to contact my cable provider (Comcast) this morning as my special pricing ends on the 24th for my internet service.  I learned the other day that my bill will likely be increasing $20/month even with their best plan unless something has changed in the last couple of weeks. I also need to check with Dish as my two-year contract with them has expired or will in a few days.

Sandy, almost every afternoon around 4 pm we seem to have the sun disappear behind the clouds for a bit and then it clears off again.  We have noticed this ever since we have lived here.

Gloria, glad you finally had some good sleep and hope you feel better.  Pat tried the Restasis several years ago and didn't like it as made her eyes burn and she said it wasn't worth the discomfort.

June, Pat needs to get out more as sometimes these four walls seem to close in on her.  Unfortunately, she was in a lot of pain last evening but did get a good nights sleep.  Glad to see the two bowls were still available that you wanted.

Carol, I was wondering if you would drive to Minneapolis.  Do you still have the dresser with the carved initials?

Amy, we apparently have a lot of wild turkeys in our area although I have never seen any of them in our little neighborhood.  Did the crow win?

Hal, it sounds like your friends miss you when you are not at the Bible study.  Hope you feel greatly improved today since you are now off the antibiotics.

Callie, I am seriously considering whether I will have the energy this year to have many plants that require daily attention.  I will certainly get something for our front porch but not sure about the back patio.  I know I am not going to plant tomato's or pepper or herb like last year.  I had marigolds in the two big containers in the back and think they have reseeded.  They don't seem to require much attention and even though Pat has never liked them it is probably what I will allow to grow back there.  I have had the New Zealand Impatiens in the container on my front porch that is in front of my office windows for the two years we have lived here.  The first year they were beautiful but last year I had a different variety and they didn't bloom very much while the ones the first year bloomed all the time. It sounds like your back yard will be very colorful and beautiful.

Jeanne, I just hate to deal with the cable company.  I find the people nice and know they are just doing what they are told to do but still don't enjoy it and I have to do that today.  So glad your grandson and son could visit you.  Love your bathroom story and certainly no harm done.  His explanation sounds very logical to me.  :)

JaneS, while I am sure you were frustrated with the writing on the wall aren't you glad you have such a memory now of those days when your children were small.  Our daughter once put stickers all over her bedroom door and when we were selling the house I had to try to remove them and I don't think I was totally successful but the house did sell.  I also remember the year that the Job's Daughter's were selling chocolate bars and each girl had a case of 24 to sell.  We ended up with an empty case but no proceeds as she had eaten all of the chocolate bars.  I was not a happy parent at the time but now look back on it as something I recall from her youth.  She always marched to her own drummer.

Lloyd, your granddaughter has a lovely voice.  Sure glad she could help you get your mike working again.  Hope your appointment with your lawyer goes well this morning.  My folks used a living trust and it made settling their estate very easy and quick and avoided probate.

halkel

Good Morning Everyone!

Feel much better today and have been able to get somethings done that needed done,
is that good English? LOL.  Had some insurance forms to fill out on the computer, nice way to get those forms done, that time of the year is approaching, ugh, the old bank account takes a hit.  But it is a necessary evil.

Larry, many, many moons ago, when we lived in Canada we had some visitors come over and they had a terror for a child, anyhow, my kids and theirs went into my kids bedroom to play and decided they wanted to write on the walls, and did.  I wasn't really too upset since I had already gotten paint to do the room, being a young father in my 20's and just learning DYI I didn't realize you couldn't paint (successfully) over crayons, lesson learned.  I ended up having to scrubbing the walls to remove the crayons.

I am also like you Larry about dealing with most vendors now days.  Especially when
you are trying to clear up some problem and they are pushing you to "buy" some other service. AT&T is really bad about that and I can promise you that you will be on the phone for a whole lot longer time that you care to be.

Janie, hope you found all those smiles today.

Lloyd, don't envy you with your appointment with your lawyer.  Lawyers and house closing are like having teeth pulled to me.  I know I am going to come away unhappy with the process.

I got an email from a friend this morning with a link from aarp,  http://www.aarp.org/health/medicare-insurance/info-2017/new-medicare-id-cards.html?cmp=EMC-DSO-NLC-WBLTR--HLLV-MCTRL-042117-F1F-2069656&ET_CID=2069656&ET_RID=8316144&encparam=sQibhP0JkdpLHlQpBnZOl+JHEIegooUaglsHb3ob7CM=  Seems we are going to get new medicare cards next year.  Thats going to cost govt a pretty penny.

Guess I better get off here and get my wife's Schwan order done online.

June Drabek

Good Morning all. Today is deep cleaning day for my housekeeper, so I will keep this short. Both Larry and Hal sound in good shape today, so for that we can be thankful. I hope and pray everyone else is "up" and rarin' to go.

There is an Earth Day activity at 10 a.m. today in our Garden. I may try to drag my lazy bones down for that. Need to  visit our library for a couple more books too. So off I go till later.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Gloria

Good morning everyone, slow getting started today, we are having April showers today and that dampness lets me know it is back again.

HAL  hope today finds you feeling more like yourself once again.

CALLIE  I have seen the NZ Impatiens and I agree , beautiful flowers. What colors Coleus do you have. I love the variety of colors there are. I once had a purple one and it looked like velvet.

JEANNE LEE  I remember how big and empty my home felt after my daughter, SIL and the 2 grands left after a visit.

CAROL  there was nothing I could do one they painted it black, their father almost had a fit.

Big delay. My CNA was here and just left. No way can I do anything at the PC when she is here. With her it is jokes and laughs as she works.

JANE  glad you will have the same young back for yard work this season.

LLOYD  hope the lawyer sets up the trust just the way you want it.

LARRY  it is raining lightly here. I have been using the restasis since December and the last few days I did not and my eyes feel a bil better. Those darn vials are so expensive-450.- for a month supply. Use 2 drops and then throw it away.
HAL  glad you are feeling better today.

You win the prize!!!!!!   :roflBig:

I was rudely awakened at 2:20 a.m. by a loud BANG!  Sounded as if it was overhead.  It was raining hard and I could hear thunder in the distance but when I checked all over the house, I didn't see, hear or smell anything.
So I went back to bed and slept soundly until almost 9:00 a.m.

As usual, I turned on my cell phone when I got up (and before I'd opened the blinds) and it was BLARING!!!!!  Nearly gave me a heart attack!  It was a severe weather warning and told me to "check the media".
Turned on the tv to discover there was a huge rain/wind/hail storm practically overhead!
When I did open the blinds,  it was raining so furiously that I couldn't even see across the street.

By 10:00 a.m., the OKC area had had more than 4 inches of rain, streets were flooded and some power lines were down.
Fortunately, although water got about 5 feet into my neighbor's garage, there doesn't seem to be any other damage in my neighborhood - and All My Children are o.k.

At least, my plants didn't float out of the pots!

Gloria,  this year, the coleus is red with green edges because I thought that would go nicely with the NZ impatiens.   I love the deep red ones, too.

The Plan du Jour was to put away Easter things, make sliders and do deskwork.   Guess I'd better get started.

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

June Drabek

My housekeeper has come, and gone. My home is shining clean. Life is a joy. I spent time at the Library downstairs, picked up two more books. I am now reading Kentucky Rich by Fern Michaels. I am liking it very much so far. My mind does not want to come awake today, but it is time to go downstairs for lunch so I will tell the mind and body to obey, and get a move on……..

Had a good lunch with my usual group. I was able to get Mac talking about his time in the Service..he flew a bomber, stationed on an aircraft carrier. He cannot remember what he ate this morning, but his memory of those years is excellent.

It is a slow day for me. My best hours are morning, then things seem to go downhill physically. No pain…just complete fatigue, so I what the body allows. It is so nice to be able to come here and unload on all of you. Some of you know exactly what I'm saying. Thanks !
As long as we are here, let's dance.

This day?  So far, so good!  And I always think that if I can still say that when I crawl into bed, it's been a pretty good one.

JeanneLee, I'm wondering...was there also a drowned centipede in your bathtub?

I have one load of laundry to put into the dryer and when that's done, I'll be off to bed.  I hope Everyfriend has had a day as good as mine...A line full of smiles, a good talk with the store manager, 2 old friends through my line and an old geezer who, I think, might have been flirting with me.

I wish you all a peaceful night and may God bless us every one!

Janie,I'm so glad you had a good day. Old Geezers need to be flirted with, and it costs us nothing, so I hope you treated him with a wink or a big smile.

I have had a very lazy day, a lot of reading and napping, but I feel rested tonight so it was a great day.

May you all have a peaceful night of sleep, with God watching over you. Love and prayers and hugs...
