Amen......now to rejoice!!!!!

Good morning everyone...

We went to daughter and son in love's for dinner last night, he did the bbqing and oh my was it delicious!!! We had a great time but hubby was tuckered out ,sneaking in a few cat naps on the way home Our timing was perfect as the fog was just setting in as we got home.

Today VON comes and nothing else is planned. I managed to get my floors washed and ironing done yesterday so a resting day it is.

Gloria, to me that would be the best gift, ginger snaps and cold milk is high on my list!

Callie, despite the full tummy from dinner, reading your post about your meal had me heading to the hidey hole for your treats!

Wishing everyone a Happy Easter .

Happy Easter Morn!  Thank you, Jeanne Lee, for posting the graphic.

A late but still heartfelt "Happy Birthday, Gloria!".

I wish I could see the Lilacs, Lloyd.  We had huge lilac bushes at the house where I was born...back in Kansas.  Lilacs don't do well here in NC where I live now.  Our winters don't get cold enough for them, I think.

Make it a good day, Everyone.

Good morning everyone and have a HAPPY EASTER. I will go to my son's later. Good company and food.

CALLIE  after all you did in the morning you earned your being a Recliner Radish in the afternoon.

HAL  thank you. At 86 how many more do you wish on me?

JUNE  thank you, yes my birthday is on income tax day. In this are we have till Tuesday to file. Being on a Saturday and ours goes to Mass. And Monday is Patriots Day there and a holiday so a couple of extra days.

JANE  a different place to shop yesterday?

SHIRLEY  thank you.

JANE  thank you.

CALLIE  thank you. With my sweet tooth I will have a bit of the cake if any is left.

MARY ANN  thank you. We might get close to 80° this afternoon. Will believe it when I see it.

JEANNE LEE  Beautiful graphic for today.

PHYLLIS  Love the way you did this graphic, simple and meaningful.

AMY  glad you enjoyed the BBQ and made it home before the fog set in. I was telling my daughter that I had my CNA buy me some ginger snaps at the market but they are no where as good as home made. So that darling daughter made some for me. Not one was broken either.

LLOYD  when I see the lilacs blooming I know the cold weather is over. My son did not have any last year, the caterpillars ate every thing on the trees and bushes. Hope if they start again this year they will be smart enough to spray.

PHYLLIS  thank you, any time is the right time. My daughter is like me with a love of lilacs and she tried growing them in Cal. But it was too hot there.

Have a wonderful Easter.

Hi everyone.  We have a another nice day for Easter.  We will miss the Easter service today as just don't feel up to getting out.  I hate to miss going as it is one of the few days we see our church generally full.

Yesterday I did drive down to the Masonic Lodge and purchase two of their BBQ dinners.  There was so much food that one of the meals feed both Pat and I last night with some BBQ and hash with rice left over.  We will have the other dinner for our main meal today.  The food was delicious and they sure had a big turnout with cars everywhere.  Fortunately, I was able to park very close to the line for the take out meals.

I did watch the golf yesterday afternoon and will do so again today.  It is a very tight match with a number of players in contention.  One of the players tee shot ended up on the bank of a water hazard.  When he got to the ball there was an alligator at the every edge of the water close to his ball.  Play was delayed until the caddy took a golf club and nudged to animal and it went under and out away from the bank.

I read this a little while ago and found it quite interesting so wanted to share it as it fits with the Easter season:

Why did Jesus fold the linen burial cloth after His resurrection?
The Gospel of John (20:7) tells us that the napkin, which was placed over the face of Jesus, was not just thrown aside like the grave clothes. The Bible takes an entire verse to tell us that the napkin was neatly folded and was placed at the head of that stony coffin.

Early Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. She ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved. She said, 'They have taken the Lord's body out of the tomb, and I don't know where they have put him!'

Peter and the other disciple ran to the tomb to see. The other disciple out ran Peter and got there first. He stopped and looked in and saw the linen cloth lying there, but he didn't go in.

Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also noticed the linen wrappings lying there, while the cloth that had covered Jesus' head was folded up and lying to the side.

Was that important? Absolutely! Is it really significant? Yes! In order to understand the significance of the folded napkin, you have to understand a little bit about Hebrew tradition of that day.

The folded napkin had to do with the Master and Servant, and every  Jewish boy knew this tradition.

When the servant set the dinner table for the master, he made sure that it was exactly the way the master wanted it. The table was furnished perfectly, and then the servant would wait, just out of sight, until the master had finished eating, and the servant would not dare touch that table until the master was finished...

Now if the master was done eating, he would rise from the table, wipe his fingers and his mouth and clean his beard, and would then wad up that napkin and toss it onto the table.

The servant would then know to clear the table. For in those days the wadded napkin meant,  "I'm finished..."
But if the master got up from the table and folded his napkin and laid it beside his plate, the servant would not dare touch the table, because....the folded napkin meant
"I'm coming back!"  AND  SO  HE  SHALL

Shirley, I hope you will be able to take a few days this next week and rest.  You had quite a week.  I haven't used my sprinkler system yet as none of the neighbors have either.  However, don't see any rain the forecast for the next several days so may need to water later this week.

Gloria, those ginger snaps sure sound good. You didn't say anything about it being your birthday.  Happy Birthday although I may be a day late.  Were the ginger snaps your daughter's BD gift to you?

Callie, you sure cooked up a storm but it sounds mighty tasty.

JaneS, your Helen's Pink Stuff sounds like something I would really like.  I like just plain flavored jello and usually have some if there is any on a buffet bar.

Jeanne, a beautiful graphic for this Easter morning.

Amy, glad you and your husband were able to enjoy a BBQ dinner with your son and DIL.

Lloyd, lilacs is something I so remember from growing up in Missouri.  Like Phyllis, we have no lilacs here in South Carolina.  We do have Wisteria however which is pretty but sure attracts bees.

I am looking forward to a joyful Easter Service, and a nice Quiet day at home. My kids will be tired today..They participate in a Sunrise Service with other nearby Churches, and then they have their own lengthy service. So I do not expect any visit. I am content.

Wishing ALL a very Happy Easter.  For those that aren't up to going to church services, I do believe that God not only understands but we can sometimes hear HIM better when we pray alone.  HE listens and gives us a chance to think.

We have a mix of clouds & sun today, not too hot or too cold, not much wind (that is really welcome!), a beautiful spring day.  The trees have that "lime green" glow of new leaves unfolding, still some color on the redbuds & not sure if it's plumb or cherry or some kind of flowering crab apple, but a dash of pink & rose here & there.

Going to sneak a few zzzzzzzzzzs before anything else goes on.  Shhhhhhhhhh...........

Hal and Larry, I'm sorry you two are not feeling well on this Easter Sunday. I know you are both devoted Church members. However, God is with you where ever you are, and He is loving you. You are two fine men, and God loves you and is proud of what you are doing in your lives. Be Joyful !!!

We had the most interesting guest Speaker today. He is a Jewish Christian, raised in a very orthodox Jewish home, but has found that there is MORE for us as children of the God that created us. I was very impressed.

Time to go down for Sunday dinner....

Good afternoon, a beautiful very warm day HAPPY EASTER TO ALL.

Gloria, I am sorry I am late, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY :bestwishes:
My Florida room is reading 90. so I am not out there, just been on the deck.  I will have to have someone put all the screens in, then it will be cooler.

Callie, and Janealways take, that jello salad when I go to a covered dish.  Most of the time I use the banna/strawbeery jello. It is very filling because of the cottage cheese.

JeanneLee, thanks for the lovely graphic.

Gloria and Marilyn I stopped using margarine about 30 years ago. My doctor told me I was a walking stroke, because of my BP, she told me not to use salt, as I would get needed salt in my food.  Also to buy whipped butter, and keep it soft to use, that way you cold use a pat of real butter.

June, it was a beautiful day here, for the sunrise service at the Ocean, I use to always go to that one, when I lived in southampton.

Larry and Hall hope you start to feel better. I seem to be more tired since my last trip to the hospital.

My neighbors have ask me to dinner, I will wait and see how I feel.  If not Cathi, said she would bring it over.

Well, I went to church last night and this morning both so you are all covered.  I prayed for anyone who couldn't make it there.

Last night's service was beautiful!  It was attended by people from our entire convocation.  That includes 7 churches.  There were pertinent readings and the the blended choir from all those churches was glorious.

This morning was a bit more sedate but just as lovely with all the flowers and good friends in every pew.  Then I stayed for a simple breakfast and some visiting.

This afternoon, I went to my daughter's for Easter dinner and it was just the 3 of us.  We filled our plates and then went outside on the patio to eat.  And we talked about many things....including how good the ham was.  And I brought enough home for another dinner tomorrow.

Two granddaughter called and we had lovely chats...one from Texas and one from Florida.  And I talked to all my kids and had text messages from the rest of the grandkids.  What a lovely day!

I hope you all had a day that pleased you!

Gloria de, God has surely blessed you with a wonderful neighbor. It sure makes me happy to know that she is there for you

Janie Girl...Two Easter services..how nice for you, then dinner with two daughters. What a blessing that is.

I hope our Bis/Joan had a beautiful day where she is. I am so looking forward to seeing a post from her again.

Time for me to think about some supper. I can't stop yawning for some reason so it may be an early to bed for me...sun is still shining brightly now.

JUNE, my dinner was with a daughter and Son-in-"Love" as Amy says.  He drove me home and on the way he confided that I'd raised a beautiful daughter, inside and out.  I thanked him but sometimes I think they are the wasy they are in spite of me and not because of me.  Like you, JUNE, I'm blessed with my family.

And now I'm going in and cuddle with the doggies and then to bed so I'll bid you all....

Good night Everyfriend and may God bless us, every one!

Jane and June, you're not the only ones blessed with wonderful children!   had a phone call from #1 son on Wednesday night saying he would be coming for a short visit.  Great news, of course, but when I saw his camper pull in and opened the front door, there stood my #1 Grandson as well!  What a super time we had.

I can't let the discussion of great children go by without my mentioning my two nephews, both of whom help me so much.  Tom lives with me and takes me to my appointments, to lunch with retiree friends and such other things.  Tom does my grocery shopping (I pay for them).  He is not a handyman, but Terry is so if I need some help in that department, Terry is my man.  He recently installed a vertical grab bar in my bathroom beside the tub.

When we get into our later years, we are fortunate if we have family members who can help us do what we no longer can do.

Good morning everyone

Woke to the sound of the loon calling as he flew over the house, he was so low I could also hear the wind in its wings!!!

Larry and Hal ,I hope today finds you both feeling a lot better today.

I believe we are all blessed with  wonderful children and I think we are all the same,we don't want to be a burden on them either. We love them to pieces.

Not sure what is happening today, yesterday was quiet with only meals being prepared.....maybe chase dust bunnies and tidy up the bathrooms.

Better go get ready to meet the day..

Enjoy your day everyone..

I don't know what I'm doing this morning either.  In fact, I think it's a "no school" day which means that I won't be seeing Kiran today either.  She likes to hang out at the store and then scoot upstairs as soon as her Aunt Greta shows her face.  That is definitely a mutual love between the two of them!  And I'm of the opinion that Greta is good for Kiran.

I think I'll just take this day as it comes!  Whatever will be, will be!  Make today a good one Everyfriend!

And I agree with everyone!  We are blessed with our children.  Mary Ann you must be a very sepcial person for your Nephews to look after you the way they do.  And they must be very special people, too.

Hi everyone.  We have a sunny morning and should see 86 degrees before the day is over.  Yesterday was a very quiet day with my main activity being watching the golf tournament from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  For the first time ever a man born in South Carolina won that event.  We were able to have our second dinner from the Masonic Lodge BBQ event last evening.  I have no particular plans for today.  If I feel up to it at noon I will attend my Monday noon meeting.

June, Easter is a busy day for our ministers.  Our church had a sunrise service and then it's regular three services.  I always try to stay joyful.  It sounds like you had an interesting service with the Jewish Christian speaker.

Hal, hope the weather was pleasant for the poolside BBQ.

Shirley, it sounds like the trees are very pretty in your area now.  The trees here are all fully leafed and the flowering trees no longer show the flowers.

deAngel, many years ago, when we lived in Missouri, our house had a Florida room and it had louvered windows.  It had it own wall heater so could be used pretty much year round.  It had a door so it could be closed off from the rest of the house if it got too cold or too hot.

JaneS, your Saturday night blended church service and larger choir sounds so nice.  It sounds like you had a very busy day yesterday.  Nice you were able to talk to your kids and grand kids.  It sounds like it was a very special day.

Jeanne, what a nice surprise to see your son and your grandson.  Where do they live?

Mary Ann, your nephews are just reflecting back the love you have shared with them over the years.  I continue to be so happy that we moved when we did and can be where our son and granddaughter live.  He is very handy and willing to help.  It seems like every week when they are here there is a little choir of some kind that we ask him to do for us.

Lloyd, glad you could be with family on Easter.  Those are special times.

Amy, thanks for your good wishes on feeling better.  Hope those dust bunnies don't give you a hard time today.  :)

Still morning in Stanton, but edging up to noon. I did a load of clothes early today, but inspite of me occupying the tiny laundry room a lady from the first floor barged in and talked and talked and talked…she was telling me how SHE always came at this early hour to do HER laundry.  Sure had me asking God's forgiveness many times.
Next time we have a community meeting I am going to bring up the problem of not having a Laundry on the first floor.

Amy, We are a group here that are surely like-minded. Having lived in two Care facilities now, I have found not everyone is as fortunate as we are. Some of the elderly can be quite demanding, and blame their children for not doing more for them. That causes the children to avoid making visits.

Lloyd, I am happy you were well and could enjoy the visit of your Daughter and SIL. Are these the pair that will be living on the property ? You have made a good decision my friend, and I know it will be a relief to you having less to care for.

Janie, I am doing the same as you today…let things just happen now. I plan to go down for lunch but that's it. The laundry wore me out.

Larry, Me too. This move I made to be nearer my son and DIL was the wisest move ever.My health and energy are not going to get better as I age, and my kids are always ready to help me out. I hope the Jewish Christian comes back to speak to us frequently. I love to learn.

Chia, I used to know all the Capitals of all the States, but that memory has flown the coop. I will look in in spite of my lack of memory.

I tore apart the filters in our dishwasher and cleaned everything with vinegar - so, am hoping the next full load will be clean.  It hasn't been good to leave the dishwasher alone for so many winter months.  Pork chops are in the slow cooker and now to make a list of tomorrow's meal when Don's cousin and wife arrive - no doubt at least two of our sons will be over for a visit too.

Back to a more normal week now and we are feeling better and becoming more acclimated to both the heavy pollen and this altitude.  My walk was interrupted pleasantly by 3 neighbors coming out to chat.  There goes the book on my old iPod.

Callie:  I ordered a crock pot and would you believe it was delivered on Easter Sunday?  We were surprised - poor people never get a rest break.

Jane S.  It sounds like you had a nice Easter visiting with family - even via phone is wonderful!

Amy:  We are Loon Lovers!  Miss them so much - we may have to visit Minnesota this year because we miss the lakes and woods so much.  Oh, cousins too - of course.   ;)

Gloria:  I can add - You can repair a snowmobile in the living room while mom is gone - oops, she came back early.  Also, we had basketball marks on the ceiling.   Oh, the days of their youth - they still like to talk about all the high-jinks they played.

Hi June!

Good Afternoon Everyone!

I finally got myself in gear and made it onto the computer.  Yesterdays BBQ was good, I spent nearly all my time in the house where I had a nice easy chair and we didn't stay long, nor did the Grandkids, they were tired from all the swimming, sunshine and full of food.

I am still puny, I think it is the antibiotics I am taking for a kidney infection, they make me really drowsy and drained.  But no matter just three more days of them.  Hopefully the body will adjust.

Had some rain last night and possibly more today, they said t-storms last night but they didn't come about.

Hope everyone has a good day.

So far the day has not gone as planned but it has been great..right down to the nap we all had.

Took hubby into town for blood work and to get his scripts filled but our drug store was closed,so I will do that tomorrow when I take the van in to summer tires put on. When we came back the neighbour was out with his dog so over I went and clipped Rex's nails......now all 3 dogs are good for another two weeks.

Hal, rest, that is the best medicine you can have at the moment while your other meds are taking hold. Work will wait..

Leftovers for supper tonight....

Hi, Carol..more company for you…again ???????????

Hal, I hope you are drinking Lots of water. I had a kidney infection years and years ago, and I swelled up all over my body..I looked like a Chinaman. My Gary had one when he was a little boy, and my daughter died of failed kidneys in 1960. Back then you had to have an identical twin for a transplant…nothing else would help. It is not something to treat lightly.

Amy, I don't feel like going downstairs to eat. I think I will just stay home. Sorry your day got kabolixed up.

Speaking of things on the ceiling....

Basketball marks are a given but when my kids were little, my Dad thought it was fun to "teach" them to walk on the ceiling.  He loved picking them up, turning them upside down and walking them across the ceiling.  Never mind if their sneakers or feet were dirty or clean....most often dirty.  I think I was the only one in my group with LOTS of little footprints on the ceiling.  Do you know how hard it is to clean dirty footprints off a ceiling?

JUNE...my "putzing" took me to the bank to deposit a check and then to WalMart to get an ink cartridge and then to the Municipal Authority office to pay my 3 month bill.  My accountant, who is also my son, finished my taxes today (the last possible day) and they've been accepted.  So I won't be chatting with you from prison this year.  My son says they don't incarcerate old ladies for not paying their taxes because the upkeep is outta sight.  I wonder?

I'm going to have the leftovers from yesterday at my daughters for my supper tonight.  She gave me a take-home that was more than I ate for supper.  I've been picking on it all day.

Carol, I never thought of cleaning anything in my dishwasher that needs to be taken apart.  You are so skillful.  So far, it seems to be getting everything clean.  I think I'll just keep my fingers crossed!  OUCH!  Crossing fingers hurts!

Enjoy the rest of your day Everyfriend, however much of it you have left.

We had finger prints above the doors that got higher and higher every year.

JaneS,   my granddaughters' uncle, who is 6'8" tall,  loved to help them "spider-walk" across the ceiling.
I also remember seeing their baby-sitter's boyfriend, who played college football, doing leg lifts with one giggly little girl on each leg.
One thing for sure - they've never been intimidated by Big Men!!!!

Hope Everyfriend Everywhere has had a Merry Monday.

Janie, my Gary has taken care of my taxes with the girl that does his. She did a good job, I got bucks back. That is always good news. I never had footprints on my ceiling but I had a framed picture where a BB had penetrated the frame. My oldest "kid" (my husband) had hung a target on the living room wall..a thick one..but either he or one of the boys missed the target and hit the frame.

I did decide to go down to the library to return two books and picked up a fresh one..still have two of C.S. Lewis I am reading, but I need a light one for when I go to bed at night. So I stopped at the salad bar and picked up some lettuce to go with my lunch leftovers of Mac and Cheese.

Sandy, I find that sometimes the cure is worse than the illness. But we do what we have to do. Right now I have to go take two salt tablets which I will follow with some food, otherwise they upset my stomach.

I've been to read posts several times today.  I feel like I am repeating myself but only thought I posted.

Larry, every time I read through your reason for the folded napkin, I want to be sure to thank you, very interesting.  Hope you are feeling better, maybe you need a "spring tonic"..... or eat some iron rich foods (raisins are good~)

I agree with Sandy, Hal, about the yogurt..... and when my daughter got kidney infections her doctors recommended drinking lots of cranberry juice.

Anyone ever find toothpaste on the ceiling in the bathroom?  Never did find out which one did it  That was a lifetime ago.  ::)

Callie, my boys were pleased when they could jump & touch the ceiling.... they didn't grow long legs like your sons, so quite a feat for them.

Carol, the pollen & whatever is in the wind when it blows hard.... has been awful this year.  I have a feeling that  living with these cats makes allergies worse.  What is the altitude during winter & how high (mile?) your place in CO?  It takes me days to adjust & I try to sleep no higher than 8,600.... (Mt.Princeton campground).  It is a little lower in Salida so the first night there does help.

Don't have much to show for my day so hope to get a good night sleep & dig in early.  Seems like we have more holidays than when we were young...  and takes longer to get ready for them & clean up after.

Sweet dreams to all and to all a Good Night... and God Bless.

Hal,  a friend taught me to put a carton of  fruit-flavored yogurt on my dry cereal instead of milk.  If you have Braum's dairy stores in your area, theirs is the fruitiest tasting.

Sleep well, Everyfriend, and have pleasant dreams.

I forgot to say that I, too, liked the story of the folded napkin.  I have always wondered about it, too.

Good Morning everyone*
JaneS don't worry about them, just treasure them. when my 1/2 sister was little she was staying with one of my aunt's , she took a pencil and drew pictures on the wall in her bathroom. she would not let anyone remove them. when my sister was a tanager she would be taken in there and be shown her art work.
the aunt was a school teacher , even in her nineties she would praise one for there good works.have a great day remembering what your dad done for you all.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I'll be off to WM this morning.  Wish me smiles!

Lloyd, I wasn't complaining about what my Dad did.  He was my kids best friend and finest example.  He taught them more than any teacher in school came close to.  The adored him (so did I) and they still talk about him.  If they could have him back right now they wouldn't hesitate a minute.  What they had between them was love and respect!

JaneS I can for sure relate to that statement . you were blessed to have him as long as you did. I was the oldest of three boys. my parent's divorced , and he was murdered  soon after that. so I never had the chance to know him. I grew up being the man of the house , and was told often you are the oldest you have to set good examples for the others.  Have a great day.

Good morning everyone, sorry I wasn't here yesterday. I was worn out from being out Sunday and I paid for it yesterday. Laid on the couch and had the TV on and slept on and off all day. I had a wonderful Easter with good food and company I hated to come home.

DON  thank you. Was this the first Easter you had in Israel? I know you have been there several times but cannot remember the times of the year.

LARRY  I saw on TV about the alligator and the golf ball. Interesting about the burial cloth. I never heard that before. Yes my daughter made those singer snaps for my birthday. My birthday is nothing special so why would I mention it?

SHIRLEY  the forsythia bushes are blooming here, The house across the street has a big bush of the and it looks so good top see that bright splash of yellow. Since the landscapers were here last week some flowers are sticking their heads up.

GLORIA de  thank you, any time is great a day later or more. Seems like every time I go anywhere these days I am exhausted, whether it is to my son's like Easter day or to a doctor. I get home and just have to lay down and it takes a day to feel better.

JUNE  we are all praying for JOAN and waiting for the time she is well enough to post here again.

JANE  I really enjoyed being at my son's Easter. Great seeing my great grandson.  He is so cute I could just squeeze him but did not want to scare him.

JEANNE LEE  always great to have a visit from a child who does not live close. I just hope that once my daughter and SIL are all settled into their new home they can take a trip here.

CAROL  when I was leaving with my son Easter morning there was a post office truck in front of the building. Must have been some kind of special delivery. My sons when in high school one day when I came home from work told me to come with them to their room and then shut my eyes.   When I opened them they had painted the whole room black and has some black lights on. Yikes  I think that was the most shocking thing they did. I had read years ago to run an empty dishwasher with only vinegar instead of soap. I know it works great in a washing machine, too. Gets rid of all soap and keeps it from having odors.

CALLIE when my dentist extracted my first teeth she recommended Dannon yogurt because it has the most probiotics in it. I don't know if that's true  because I do not ordinarily like yogurt.

Hi everyone pn an overcast morning.  We do have a 60% chance of rain this afternoon around 2 pm, when I have to drive for about 30 minutes to get to a new doctor's office.  I am seeing a dermatologist just for a check up since I have had carcinoma in the past.  I plan to eat an early lunch and then rest for 90 minutes or so before leaving. I did not attend my meeting yesterday as had to make a trip to the church to drop off the peanut butter and jelly to Pat's Circle meeting.  Then I stopped at Aldi's for a few items.  Pat had planned to go to Aldi's but just was in a lot of discomfort.  By the time I got home I was ready to rest for awhile.

This morning got off to a rocky, although as I think of it now a rather humorous one.  However, I didn't feel that way when it was happening.  I was fixing Pat's breakfast and got the water started for the coffee, including putting the coffee pod in the coffee maker.  When the lights went on indicating it was ready I pushed the button and continued to make Pat's breakfast.  When I went to get the coffee I discovered I had not put a cup under the spout so had coffee all over the counter.  So I cleaned up the mess and started the water for an actual cup of coffee.  When I went to get it I saw I had a nice cup of hot water as had forgotten to put the coffee pod in the maker.  The third time was the charm and Pat actually had a cup of coffee.  Fortunately I didn't burn her scrambled eggs.  In the scheme of things this really wasn't important at all just aggravating at the time.

June, it sounds like the lady felt she should have exclusive use of the laundry at that time.

Carol, Pat recently came up a good way to fix the pork chops with some seasoning and brown sugar rubbed on them and then baked until done.  They are really good.  It sounds like your neighbors were glad to see you all back home.

Hal, sorry that you are still feeling puny but antibotics seem to do that to folks.

Amy, there is  our plan for the day and then there is the reality of what happens.  Glad you had a nice day and got a nap in as well.

JaneS, what a memory of the those little footprints on the ceiling.  Glad you won't have to chat with us from prison!  :)  Beautiful comments about your father and the role he played with his grandchildren.

Callie, isn't it great we have those memories of our children's growing up years.  At the time it seemed like it was going to last forever and, of course, it lasted only a very short time.

Shirley, the reason I am not feeling good simply boils down to the condition of my heart.  I have unstable angina and when I take a nitro it drops my already low blood pressure.  It doesn't take much work to really tire me out so I have to do things in bits and pieces although when I start something I like to see it through.  We have never had toothpaste on the ceiling.  :)

Glad to see that several of you enjoyed the folded napkin story.  I know I found it very interesting.

Lloyd, your aunt sounds like a special lady who loved children.  How dreadful to have your father murdered. I am sure you set a good example for your siblings.

Gloria, I have to disagree with you in that I feel your birthday is important as it means you have lived another year.  Are the ginger snaps gone by now? Hope today finds you rested up from Sunday.  I can't imagine a room painted black.

Good Morning.....we're all in our places, with sunshiny faces, and this is the way, to start a new day. I'm hoping so.

I got busy sharing some pictures my DIL sent me to friends. I sent some to Jeanne Lee too, in hope she could place them here, but they may have been the wrong size, and I don't know how to change that.

Jeanne, I have three different email addresses for you, and don't know which one is proper..I sent the pictures to the gmail address.

Nothing special planned for today, unless I feel up to exercises this afternoon, and I usually don't. I can always get lost in a good book, so I don't get bored.

Larry, I hope you get good news at the dermatologist. My husband had a bunch of pre-cancerous things burned off. And one serious that required surgery.

Callie, A friend told me to use the Boost/Ensure drink on my cereal. It works great and I have to drink in anyway, so now I don't have to worry about taking milk home from the dining room.

Good morning, EVERYFRIEND.

Nice to read about the Easter Day festivities.  We also enjoyed the day, however it was a bit different than any we have ever had before.  The doodle was a good boy and was ready to do what ever we were ready to do.  We talked to all of the family and enjoyed the pictures they shared about their day.

GLORIA, I sure enjoyed your Jacqueline Lawson Easter Card, as always.  Thank you for sharing.

I hope you ALL enjoy a very nice day.

LLOYD, what happened to your father is terrible.  No family should have to bear something like that!  I am so sorry for you and your siblings!  And it makes me cherish my memories even more!

We were talking about my grandfather and Cathy's grandfather on Easter and she asked Craig (her husband) if he'd ever met him.  He said, just for a short time.  Cathy said, "You'd have loved him!".  I agree!

Good afternoon, I set out on the deck, read the paper and had my coffee this morning,  What more can I ask

Gloria, it does not feel like Spring until I see Forsythia blooming. I have 3 bushes in my yard.  The end of March I generally cut a few branches and bring them in for force blooming in the house.

Larry and Hal my doctor has always told me be sure and eat probiotics yogurt when I use antibiotics. I generally buy the Danmon 4 pack.

When Tim (oldest nephew, now deceased) was in his first year, his mother was pregnant with Tom.  Tim didn’t take to my dad too much, probably because he was more likely to stay with his mother’s parents rather than with us.  Shortly before Tom was born, it was necessary for Dad to take Joyce to the doctor and Dad would baby-sit Tim in the car while they waited.  Dad smoked a pipe and used Sir Walter Raleigh tobacco which came in a metal can.  Dad found a couple of screws, put them in the empty can and sealed it with tape from the can.  It was a rattle.  Tim loved it and ever after, he and Dad were friends.   I don’t remember what color the walls were but I remember Tim having a dark room and a black light.

I never knew either grandfather and knew only one grandmother

We didn’t have footprints or toothpaste or anything else on the ceiling, but I remember Norm’s first wife (Joyce) opened a can of pop that exploded and there was pop on the ceiling.

The bird clock sounded off and I think it was a robin.  At 3 pm it should have been a blue jay.  I’ll have to see if I can advance the sound.  If not, it will stay as it.

We had our Wednesday luncheon today but we probably will go back to Wednesday.  Jan has so much on her plate with both parents with Alzheimer’s and Terry not being well.  They live in the lower level with Jan’s folks having the upper level.  Terry was not feeling well enough to come up the stairs to join us and Jan’s father didn’t feel well either, so did not join us.  Jan’s mother is on the same level as her father as far as Alzheimer’s goes, but she is more alert.  She sat with us at the table.  Jan has been volunteering for Hospice as well as working for them and she is giving up her volunteer work and working hours the others might be asleep.  A nephew comes in to be with his grandparents at times so she does have some help.  It’s hard being the only breadwinner with three ill people.  We are going to have our weekly luncheons at Jan’s to make it easier on her.  We thought Tuesday might be better because Dot would have no conflicts on Tuesday but Tom said Tuesday is not a good day for him, so he may call Jan to make it Wednesday.

Mary Ann

So happy to have a good positive update from Linda regarding our Joan.

Jenny

My mom Joan Lavelle is doing great! She's been fully off the vent almost 3 days now, and is eating (a lot!) and speaking. Her caregivers at Kindred are impressed with her progress. Now that she's breathing pretty well, we're hoping she'll soon get the green-light to move on to a rehab place (perhaps next week) where she can work on getting her mobility back after having been in a hospital bed for quite a long time.  Thanks to everyone for sending positive thoughts her way- we all appreciate it. â€" at Kindred Hospital Melbourne.

Another peaceful day at Rowntree Gardens. I took just one walk today, but that was all I wanted to do.

Hal, I am feeling sad for you being ill. I hope tomorrow will find you much improved.

Larry, and the same goes for you my friend.

Jenny, I thank you dear girl for the news on our Bis. I'm trying to remember when her illness first started. It seems like at least a month ago, or even more. The good news truly is good news, and I'm so thankful for her children for keeping us informed. And to you for the same reason. God hears our prayers.

I'm going down to check my mailbox, and then get ready for an early bed. If I don't get back later, have a perfect night of rest and a happy tomorrow. Hugs !!!!!

Good Morning Everyone from the sunny and warmer rocky coast of Maine....

Hi Joanie...  So good to see you checking in.

I got an early call this morning from my sister in law,
Alma  ...   I was still in bed and as I got up and answered the phone I decided to put my pants on,
and tumbled over .     A very soft fall on a rug...
no damage except for my pride.   I use my smart phone as a speaker phone so my hands were free ...    I know better then to rush to get my pants on with out standing close to a wall,
so tumbling over was my own fault.

I am none the worse for wear ....  just humiliated.

Have a great day  everyone,  and Joanie,  come back when you feel comfortable ..  So good to see you!

Hi everyone on an overcast day here in South Carolina.  We are suppose to get up to 80 degrees this afternoon.  Yesterday afternoon we had a series of very nice rain showers.  We needed the rain.

I did see the dermatologist yesterday and all was fine.  He did freeze off a little growth on my temple simply because it bothered me.  Today should be a pretty laid back day.  Our granddaughter arrived a few minutes ago and she and Pat are headed to Costco.  Pat wants to get there when they open at 10 am so she can get a riding cart to get around in the big store.  We have our Wednesday night dinner at church tonight.

June, the dermatologist was very complimentary on the condition of my skin.  This was the first time to have something frozen off.  It looks awful this morning but know that is temporary.  I never thought about using my nutritional drink in the morning on cereal but what a great idea.  I have eaten the Cheerio's type cereal dry a couple of mornings recently.

Jenny, it sounds like you had a nice quiet and restful Easter as you dog sat.  Great to read the good report on Joan.  Thanks for being the go-between and keeping us informed on her progress.

deAngel, I hope my doctor never tells me to eat yogurt but suppose I could do so if necessary.  They sure sell a lot of it in the grocery stores.

Mary Ann, I remember those metal tobacco cans and they would make a good rattle that would be entertaining to a little one.

Hal, I hope today has found you feeling better than yesterday.  Do you like yogurt?  Did you hear about the man in California yesterday who just randomly shot and killed two or three people?

Lloyd, I bet your apple pie was delicious.  I have never tried to make a pie but sure have eaten plenty of them.  Pie was my father's favorite sweet.

Joan, what a nice surprise to see your posting.  We sure miss you and are praying for your recovery, which sounds like is well underway.

Amy, no wonder your get up and go left you as you wore it would with wood and yard work.

Sandy, glad you weren't hurt in your fall.  I no longer try to put on my pants unless I am sitting down as I put my feet an legs into the pants.  Sometimes we have to have some humbling experiences to teach us new lessons.

Joan, it is so nice to see a post from you.  I hope you continue to feel better and can return to S&F soon.

Sandy, don't feel humiliated, no one saw you.  As you said, it hurt your pride.  Tom doesn't want me to use the steps, especially when he's not here.  I don't know if I'm in worse shape than I think I am OR if I'm in better shape than others think I am.

I just got back from breakfast with my high school classmates and we solved all the problems of the world...well at least of our part of the world.  We talked non stop and some were still talking when I left.  It's so nice to have friends that we've known since we were "dumb little kids" together.  I'm always amazed at how smart those "dumb little kids" have become.

Now I'm going to do a bit of putzing and then grab a nap before I report for my shift at WM.  Enjoy your day, Everyfriend!

Good morning everyone, don't know why my sleep pattern is out of wack. One good night's sleep and the next I am awake all night. It was after 5 this morning before I fell asleep. It is cold here this morning, went down to the mid 30's over night and I have the heat on again.

LARRY  more than once I did not have the coffee pot right under the drip part ov the machine and had coffee all over the counter and dripping on the floor. Still have some ginger snaps, I have only one a day to make them last longer. That black room was all done before I got home from work so nothing much I could do about it. My 3 never got into drugs or anything, never had a problem with them so I just went along with them.

JEANNE LEE  if my sons told me what they were going to do I would have said NO but they did it and if they enjoyed it OK.

JENNY  that JL Easter greeting was one of the 2 news ones this year.  I do enjoy watching all her greetings.

GLORIA de  seems like overnight leaves are starting to show up on bushes and some trees. I was looking at the swamp maples in the front and can see a reddish color at the ends of the top branches. Ny dentist is the one who told me that Dannon has the best/more probiotics so that is the only one I buy now.

MARY ANN  the black lights my sons had sure made the freckles on my face look weird.

HAL  hope tiy start feeling more pep and energy.

LLOYD  now that was a nice surprise for Nancy.

JENNY  thank you  for the update about Joan. We all know Joan is a fighter from the way she fought the lung cancer.  Of course our prayers helped, too.

JOAN  oh so wonderful to see you pop up. You are so very missed by all of us.

Jenny, you said exactly what I was thinking about seeing Joan's post.... "It is going to be a extra fine day for ALL of us, just knowing that you checked in...."   ... and I will say it again.  Joan, great to see you post & hope you feel up to a few words any time.  You are missed.

Larry, got to admit, your link melted my heart!  Love the dog & Hummer.

Must get to Sam's Club for a chicken for the cats.  They don't seem as eager to eat it but it is one meal a day for each.  I have to gather them up for rabies shots.... one at a time.  I will put the back seat down to see if I can fit the 2 medium size cages in.  Had a rabies report yesterday, rabid skunk on MY side of town already so must take all 4 in right away.  I haven't seen a skunk around here for a couple years but being on the river, all critters show up sooner or later.  I called the vet last year to see if one of them could come out to give shots to all if I brought them in the RV & parked in back of the place.  Girl on the phone didn't ask, just said "no".  It is quite a chore for me to carry each in, 3 are really heavy plus the carrier.....    gotta run...........

Bis ! You are here !!! Thanks be to God. Our prayers have been heard and answered. I know you have a way to go before you are able to take us on again my darling friend, but we will all be here pulling for you, and calling on God.

Gloria..me too. My sleep pattern has changed. I woke at 2 a.m. and could not go back to sleep so read for a couple hours or more, then dozed off. At six my first med came, I slept again for about an hour, then dragged my self out of bed as I want to go to Bible study at 10. Then the day is mine, except for going down for lunch.

Time to scoot downstairs. Be back later.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  It's rained part of the night because everything is wet out there.  And it's supposed to rain part of the day today.  The only thigs on my agenda are to swing by the ATM at the bank and see if there's any money sticking out of the slot.  I suppose I better insert my card first and punch some random buttons before I check.

Then I have to pick up Kiran after school and drop off my trash at the dumpster.  But before that, I'll have to clean up the yard.  I guess it's not going to be such a slow day after all.  Maybe I'll take the stuff out of the freezer for stir fry.  Or out of the cupboard for crock pot.  Decisions, decisions....I'm sure glad they're not life and deaths ones.  I'm afraid someone would suffer.  I just don't feel decisive today.

Have a good day Everyfriend and let us know what your're up to.

Hi everyone.  It is a bright and sunny morning here and headed up to about 85 degrees this afternoon.  I have a full morning planned as need to stop at the bank for some cash.  Then will pick up my friend who lives just up the street from the bank and we will go to coffee.  I will bring him home and then stop at the barbershop in the Walmart Shopping Center as really need a haircut.  Finally, will go on over to the Walmart to pick up two prescriptions and get a couple of other items.  I will come home and have lunch and then will take it easy for the rest of the day.

Hal, glad to see you were feeling better yesterday and hope there is another improvement today.

JaneS, we sure needed to get those problems of the world solved.  I guess you should meet more often as new problems seem too pop up each day.  :) It sounds like you have known these folks for many years. It sounds like you have a busy day planned for today.

Lloyd, if you use an external video cam rather than a built in if your haven't done so check to see if the connection has come lose. You could also try rebooting the computer as sometimes that will correct problems. At least the typed messages in response to what you are hearing gives you a way to communicate.

Jenny, Pat was able to get a riding cart as they got there before Costco opened.  Jennifer went along with her and they had a successful trip. On the way home they stopped at the local produce stand and got fresh strawberries and sweet corn.

Gloria, I agree that having a room painted black was not important and so much better than having your boys get into drugs or other troubles. I bet they know they have a very "cool" mother.

Glad that several of you enjoyed the humming bird/dog video.  It has to be a bit of unique experience.

Shirley, sorry that your cats have to get those rabies shots but better safe than sorry.  I think I would ask to speak to the vet about having them given in your motor home as you shouldn't have to deal with those heavy cat crates.

Amy, I hope for your sake that today will be the last vet visit for awhile and that Golden Girl will complete healing on her own.

Good morning everyone, looks like I made up for the sleepless night. Woke at 7 this morning, pulled up the shades and laid on the couch and slept another couple of hours.

SHIRLEY you sure have spoiled those cats. Good thing you are not here because there are several feral cats in the area. This town's animal control once a year sets up cages and catches them, spay or neuter them, check them over and when satisfied that they are in good health will return them and set them free. It has helped because there are less than half of those that were here when I moved here.

JANE  wish I could get here as often as I used to but eye doc said to cut my PC time down until he sees me again. I am beginning to think  that Restasis is not doing anything but making my eyes itchy and feel like I have sand in my eyes.

AMY  good luck with your Golden being all healed at last. On Monday morning when my CNA called from downstairs I was still sleeping. Good thing she knows me or she would have left. She waited till I had time to get in here and called up again so I could let her in.

JANE  looks like it rained here overnight, too. My windows were closed so no problem.

LARRY  I don't think I was ever “cool” but why make a fuss about something they enjoyed? They needed one parent who loved them enough to let it go.

Have a great day everyone. I hope JOAN will feel up to another short visit today.

Good Morning all, I can't believe I posted only once yesterday. That's life.....memory is here in the morning and off wandering someplace later on.

Was hoping for an "hello" from our Girl Bis, but we will be thankful for yesterdays greeting.

Sandy, I hope you are still feeling fine after your fall yesterday. Sometimes the second day is the worst. I wish you Joy in spite of the weather.

Amy, sounds like you are going to be a busy bee, as usual.

Larry, I'm glad Pat was able to get out and about yesterday. It must have been a joy for her, choosing her produce and just being "out".

All is quiet here, I do plan to go down to our Bargains and Blessings Rummage shop. It is located in the Acacia building basement. I found two heavy plastic bowls that my six inch flower pot fit in perfectly for watering. I bought two I need two more. The place is packed with bargains..most of it good stuff. And then I am "on call" for postage due when the mail man comes. Other than that, I am Freeeeeee.....

Yippieee, no more going to the vet unless things change.Even though the drive is long it always hold something interesting to see. This morning I saw a crow tackle two wild turkeys, I would have thought the size of the turkeys would be intimidating to the crow.

Getting some laundry caught up as we will be away all day tomorrow. I let the neighbour know that we are taking the dogs with us and while hubby is in having chemo I can check on the dogs if need be, they are great in a vehicle and usually sleep for the most part.

I hear the washer calling me, makes me wish so many appliances didn't know my name!!!

Today is the last day for my antibiotics, thank goodness, maybe tomorrow I can start to feel like a human again and get some strength back.

I missed my bible study today, just couldn't be bothered with getting cleaned up and making my way to the church.  I got an email wanting to know how I was.

Janie, if you find any spare bills laying around save me a couple.

Good Afternoon, Everyfriend,

Hal - glad you're about through with the antibiotic and hope you feel like yourself again very soon.

Yesterday morning,  I made the rounds of the various plant places and got flowers for the back yard pots.  After lunch,  I "crashed" until about 4:00 and then planted the 6 small patio pots.
Am trying something new this year - a New Zealand Impatiens.  My neighbor had one last year and it was gorgeous -- big blooms and very colorful.   I've put mine in a pot on the step outside the patio door with coleus in two smaller pots just below it.  Also put begonias in two small rectangular planters at the patio edge and a citronella plant where it should keep away the mosquitos this summer.

The weather is very gray and gloomy today and we had some brief morning showers.  So I intended to wait until this weekend to put four plants in the two planters in the flower beds.

However, after lunch, there was nothing showing on the radar screen so I went out and finished my project.
Each bright blue ceramic planter has  an orange marigold, a red salvia, a yellow "something" (forgot the name  ::) ) and a  grayish Lamb's Ear.

The perennials that my son planted last year are beginning to bud out and I'm hopeful that it will be a very colorful summer in my back yard.

Oh - and also greased the bird feeder pole because I chased a young squirrel off the suet feeder and he challenged me by scooting back up the pole when I left the window.   After I'd greased the pole,  he sneaked back - but, after two unsuccessful tries, he gave up.   :nahna:

Now I'm ready to crash again - probably until news time.

Hope Everyfriend Everywhere is having an Enjoyable Day.

CALLIE, I'm so envious!  I can't even grow grass.  My genius Gardener father once told me "It's a good thing your better at growing children thatn you are at growing plants or all you kids would be dead."  Unfortunately, there's a lot of truth in that statement. '

Now I'm off to pick up Kiran and her friend and visit the library.  I am good at that!

What a treat to see a post from Joan!

I've had a couple of "off" days - nothing wrong, just no oomph.  And to add to that, I spent most of Tuesday afternoon trying to get things straight with Spectrum (TimeWarner that was).  Talk about frustrating!

And the house is finally feeling like its normal size, not the big and empty space  it was after son and grandson left to back to New Jersey.

Have been to our Trash and Treasures, and the other two bowls I wanted were still there. Before that I had a visitor from Palliative Care. She is a real sweet girl, and though I am not a member of Palliative Care we are friends, and I always enjoy her company.
Next on my agenda will be lunch downstairs, then home to take a nice read and nap.

Amy, I am hoping that you will not have to make a return trip to have the ear cared for. You have a full plate in caring for your beloved husband. I am SO proud of you for all you do, but I know that you love your life, and I am happy for you.

Don's cousin and wife are on the road and they invited us to stay with them in Minneapolis - well, Don is already planning a drive.  I need to recuperate here first and we both have all our medical appointments in May.  Tonight, it may snow in the Denver area and it turned really fast so I can see the fierce clouds - raining first.  Our dear neighbor is experiencing new health issues -

Jane:  Footprints on the ceiling - don't tell my children because they may still be thinking of something new for me to ponder.

Shirley:  One of our sons is very allergic to cats and even has hives if they are near.  He is the only one in the family with that issue.

One of the boys carved his initials on a dresser and blamed his toddler brother.  Of course, we believed him.

Gloria:  We never had a black room - you must have the patience of a saint!  Love the story.

Daphne:  I missed it - where you mentioned taking a fall.  So sorry - that is always a shock to the system.

Jeanne:  Here is to you finding your oomph again!  Take care.

I almost forgot the handwriting on the wall....

I was putting things in the laundry chute and I saw a few (Identifying) words written on the wall.  I called out, "who wrote on the wall in here".  All four kids and my husband responded to the call.  My husband said "It wasn't me".  The little ones all said "writing? with a definite question mark after it.  Cathy, the oldest, said "writing? where?"  I knew it was her because Cindy was just beginning kindergarten and the twins were attending nursery school.  When she got to where I was Cathy said, "Mommy, I'm sorry.  It was me.  She knew she was the only one who could write...and she knew I knew that too.

My young fella who cut my grass and did some gardening things for me last summer will be back this summer.  He's coming by on Saturday to discuss what needs to be done and will take the lawn mower in my shed for a repair estimate.  If he can get it fixed, he won't have to bring one here to do my grass.

I hope you all have a day filled with whatever you choose.  Enjoy!

No footprints on the ceiling, no writing on the wall, but did any of you discover a puddle of pee in the bathtub?

After the 6 year old suggested the culprit might be his 6 month old sister, the german shepherd, even Daddy (9 year old brother stood right next to him so wasn't mentioned), he finally explained that he'd been trying to drown a centipede.

Hi everyone.  It looks like we will be getting up to 87 degrees this afternoon with only a slight chance of rain.  Today is the day for the housekeeper to be here and then we plan on going out to eat in the late afternoon for our main meal and as far as I know there is nothing else on the calendar for today. I do have to contact my cable provider (Comcast) this morning as my special pricing ends on the 24th for my internet service.  I learned the other day that my bill will likely be increasing $20/month even with their best plan unless something has changed in the last couple of weeks. I also need to check with Dish as my two-year contract with them has expired or will in a few days.

Sandy, almost every afternoon around 4 pm we seem to have the sun disappear behind the clouds for a bit and then it clears off again.  We have noticed this ever since we have lived here.

Gloria, glad you finally had some good sleep and hope you feel better.  Pat tried the Restasis several years ago and didn't like it as made her eyes burn and she said it wasn't worth the discomfort.

June, Pat needs to get out more as sometimes these four walls seem to close in on her.  Unfortunately, she was in a lot of pain last evening but did get a good nights sleep.  Glad to see the two bowls were still available that you wanted.

Carol, I was wondering if you would drive to Minneapolis.  Do you still have the dresser with the carved initials?

Amy, we apparently have a lot of wild turkeys in our area although I have never seen any of them in our little neighborhood.  Did the crow win?

Hal, it sounds like your friends miss you when you are not at the Bible study.  Hope you feel greatly improved today since you are now off the antibiotics.

Callie, I am seriously considering whether I will have the energy this year to have many plants that require daily attention.  I will certainly get something for our front porch but not sure about the back patio.  I know I am not going to plant tomato's or pepper or herb like last year.  I had marigolds in the two big containers in the back and think they have reseeded.  They don't seem to require much attention and even though Pat has never liked them it is probably what I will allow to grow back there.  I have had the New Zealand Impatiens in the container on my front porch that is in front of my office windows for the two years we have lived here.  The first year they were beautiful but last year I had a different variety and they didn't bloom very much while the ones the first year bloomed all the time. It sounds like your back yard will be very colorful and beautiful.

Jeanne, I just hate to deal with the cable company.  I find the people nice and know they are just doing what they are told to do but still don't enjoy it and I have to do that today.  So glad your grandson and son could visit you.  Love your bathroom story and certainly no harm done.  His explanation sounds very logical to me.  :)

JaneS, while I am sure you were frustrated with the writing on the wall aren't you glad you have such a memory now of those days when your children were small.  Our daughter once put stickers all over her bedroom door and when we were selling the house I had to try to remove them and I don't think I was totally successful but the house did sell.  I also remember the year that the Job's Daughter's were selling chocolate bars and each girl had a case of 24 to sell.  We ended up with an empty case but no proceeds as she had eaten all of the chocolate bars.  I was not a happy parent at the time but now look back on it as something I recall from her youth.  She always marched to her own drummer.

Lloyd, your granddaughter has a lovely voice.  Sure glad she could help you get your mike working again.  Hope your appointment with your lawyer goes well this morning.  My folks used a living trust and it made settling their estate very easy and quick and avoided probate.

Good Morning Everyone!

Feel much better today and have been able to get somethings done that needed done,
is that good English? LOL.  Had some insurance forms to fill out on the computer, nice way to get those forms done, that time of the year is approaching, ugh, the old bank account takes a hit.  But it is a necessary evil.

Larry, many, many moons ago, when we lived in Canada we had some visitors come over and they had a terror for a child, anyhow, my kids and theirs went into my kids bedroom to play and decided they wanted to write on the walls, and did.  I wasn't really too upset since I had already gotten paint to do the room, being a young father in my 20's and just learning DYI I didn't realize you couldn't paint (successfully) over crayons, lesson learned.  I ended up having to scrubbing the walls to remove the crayons.

I am also like you Larry about dealing with most vendors now days.  Especially when
you are trying to clear up some problem and they are pushing you to "buy" some other service. AT&T is really bad about that and I can promise you that you will be on the phone for a whole lot longer time that you care to be.

Janie, hope you found all those smiles today.

Lloyd, don't envy you with your appointment with your lawyer.  Lawyers and house closing are like having teeth pulled to me.  I know I am going to come away unhappy with the process.

I got an email from a friend this morning with a link from aarp,  http://www.aarp.org/health/medicare-insurance/info-2017/new-medicare-id-cards.html?cmp=EMC-DSO-NLC-WBLTR--HLLV-MCTRL-042117-F1F-2069656&ET_CID=2069656&ET_RID=8316144&encparam=sQibhP0JkdpLHlQpBnZOl+JHEIegooUaglsHb3ob7CM= (http://www.aarp.org/health/medicare-insurance/info-2017/new-medicare-id-cards.html?cmp=EMC-DSO-NLC-WBLTR--HLLV-MCTRL-042117-F1F-2069656&ET_CID=2069656&ET_RID=8316144&encparam=sQibhP0JkdpLHlQpBnZOl+JHEIegooUaglsHb3ob7CM=)  Seems we are going to get new medicare cards next year.  Thats going to cost govt a pretty penny.

Guess I better get off here and get my wife's Schwan order done online.

Good Morning all. Today is deep cleaning day for my housekeeper, so I will keep this short. Both Larry and Hal sound in good shape today, so for that we can be thankful. I hope and pray everyone else is "up" and rarin' to go.

There is an Earth Day activity at 10 a.m. today in our Garden. I may try to drag my lazy bones down for that. Need to  visit our library for a couple more books too. So off I go till later.

Good morning everyone, slow getting started today, we are having April showers today and that dampness lets me know it is back again.

HAL  hope today finds you feeling more like yourself once again.

CALLIE  I have seen the NZ Impatiens and I agree , beautiful flowers. What colors Coleus do you have. I love the variety of colors there are. I once had a purple one and it looked like velvet.

JEANNE LEE  I remember how big and empty my home felt after my daughter, SIL and the 2 grands left after a visit.

CAROL  there was nothing I could do one they painted it black, their father almost had a fit.

Big delay. My CNA was here and just left. No way can I do anything at the PC when she is here. With her it is jokes and laughs as she works.

JANE  glad you will have the same young back for yard work this season.

LLOYD  hope the lawyer sets up the trust just the way you want it.

LARRY  it is raining lightly here. I have been using the restasis since December and the last few days I did not and my eyes feel a bil better. Those darn vials are so expensive-450.- for a month supply. Use 2 drops and then throw it away.
HAL  glad you are feeling better today.

You win the prize!!!!!!   :roflBig:

I was rudely awakened at 2:20 a.m. by a loud BANG!  Sounded as if it was overhead.  It was raining hard and I could hear thunder in the distance but when I checked all over the house, I didn't see, hear or smell anything.
So I went back to bed and slept soundly until almost 9:00 a.m.

As usual, I turned on my cell phone when I got up (and before I'd opened the blinds) and it was BLARING!!!!!  Nearly gave me a heart attack!  It was a severe weather warning and told me to "check the media".
Turned on the tv to discover there was a huge rain/wind/hail storm practically overhead!
When I did open the blinds,  it was raining so furiously that I couldn't even see across the street.

By 10:00 a.m., the OKC area had had more than 4 inches of rain, streets were flooded and some power lines were down.
Fortunately, although water got about 5 feet into my neighbor's garage, there doesn't seem to be any other damage in my neighborhood - and All My Children are o.k.

At least, my plants didn't float out of the pots!

Gloria,  this year, the coleus is red with green edges because I thought that would go nicely with the NZ impatiens.   I love the deep red ones, too.

The Plan du Jour was to put away Easter things, make sliders and do deskwork.   Guess I'd better get started.

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

My housekeeper has come, and gone. My home is shining clean. Life is a joy. I spent time at the Library downstairs, picked up two more books. I am now reading Kentucky Rich by Fern Michaels. I am liking it very much so far. My mind does not want to come awake today, but it is time to go downstairs for lunch so I will tell the mind and body to obey, and get a move on……..

Had a good lunch with my usual group. I was able to get Mac talking about his time in the Service..he flew a bomber, stationed on an aircraft carrier. He cannot remember what he ate this morning, but his memory of those years is excellent.

It is a slow day for me. My best hours are morning, then things seem to go downhill physically. No pain…just complete fatigue, so I what the body allows. It is so nice to be able to come here and unload on all of you. Some of you know exactly what I'm saying. Thanks !

This day?  So far, so good!  And I always think that if I can still say that when I crawl into bed, it's been a pretty good one.

JeanneLee, I'm wondering...was there also a drowned centipede in your bathtub?

I have one load of laundry to put into the dryer and when that's done, I'll be off to bed.  I hope Everyfriend has had a day as good as mine...A line full of smiles, a good talk with the store manager, 2 old friends through my line and an old geezer who, I think, might have been flirting with me.

I wish you all a peaceful night and may God bless us every one!

Janie,I'm so glad you had a good day. Old Geezers need to be flirted with, and it costs us nothing, so I hope you treated him with a wink or a big smile.

I have had a very lazy day, a lot of reading and napping, but I feel rested tonight so it was a great day.

May you all have a peaceful night of sleep, with God watching over you. Love and prayers and hugs...

Jane, no.  There was no evidence, but we did frequently find a live one which had come up through the drain (which I would always drown with hot water) so I believed him.  :D

Jane, I have a friend (my age) and we just had the discussion about "flirting".... we both felt the same way, that it was meant as a compliment when a guy flirted or whistled.  Now the poor guy gets dragged through the courts by a screaming lady ?(really!)  Good for you smiling about it (and congratulations).

I am worn out tonight & nothing to show for my day.  One of my classmates was given 6 months to live about 6 months ago.  Another of our friends went to see him this week & called to tell me I needed to come within the next few days because he was being moved to full care, bedfast, in 15 days.  His mind is clear, we all had an e-mail note from him last week, thanking us for the cards, phone calls & visits since the word got out.  We have called as many of the old "Class of '53" that lives fairly close (275 miles for me) & still mobile, his daughter wants us to gather on Sunday so she can be there.  She lives about 200 miles away.  A sad trip but we will let him know we care. It is comforting to all of us, knowing we will do what we can to make his last days as loving as possible.  As a "class ring-leader" I do need to go.  We had over 300 in our class at one point, but don't think that many graduated.  Never did count them, everyone busy wondering what they would do the next year, wrapped up in our own little worlds.

Callie, I've had 3 nights in a row that "something" woke me about 2:00am.... each night different sounds that I could never identify so went back to bed/sleep.  We have had enough rain to help the lawns (mine nearly 100% weeds) & trees.  I have columbines blooming, iris with big buds and even buds on some blue cornflowers (or bachelor buttons).  The Bermuda grass has taken over everywhere so I won't try to plant anything else.  I hate to use RoundUP or any of the poisons because of the birds (& cats).

Bedtime in Kansas, radar shows the rains are past. One cat (Tom) is out, he stayed in all day because of rain. The others are all inside, Callie in her garage. Sweet dreams & God Bless.  Shirley

Good morning everyone, looks like another gloomy day here. This damp weather and arthritis sure do not like each other.

CALLIE  goodness that was quite a storm you slept through after that bang. Glad your new plants did not float away. Just saw on the news that Maryland was hit with a bad storm last night with rain and wind and trees down. Don't see much coleus around here any more. At one time every one seemed to have them and I had several different colors as house plants. They did great as long as I pinched off the stems with the flowers on them.

JUNE  I think I have read all of Fern Michael's books and enjoyed all of them. If I remember right Kentucky Rich is about thoroughbred race horses. Like you mornings are best for me, that is after after I have my coffee and breakfast. By late afternoon I am worn out.

JANE  I am ready to put on my nightgown and robe by 7pm. Hard to believe just 2 years ago I would still be either out on the porch in summer or down in the library till 9 at night.

SHIRLEY  last weekend (Easter) we had warnings of fire threats because it was so want and windy with very low humidity, Now we have had enough rais to take that warning down. No happy medium this year.

LLOYD  seems like no one else is around when I get here lately.

Have a good day.

I got this yesterday, good ones to remember when we get annoyed.

Telemarketer Tips

1. If they want to loan you money, tell them you just filed for bankruptcy and you could sure use some money. Ask, "How long can I keep it? Do I have to ever pay it back, or is it like the other money I borrowed before my bankruptcy?"

2. If they start out with, "How are you today?" say, "Why do you want to know?" Or you can say, "I'm so glad you asked, because no one seems to care these days and I have all these problems, my sciatica is acting up, my eyelashes are sore, my dog just died . . ." When they try to get back to the sales process, just continue on with telling about your problems.

3. If the person says he's Joe Doe from the XYZ Company, ask him to spell his name, then ask him to spell the company name, then ask where it is located. Continue asking personal questions or questions about the company for as long as necessary.

4. This one works better if you are male: Telemarketer: "Hi, my name is Judy and I'm with Canter and Siegel services....You: "Hang on a second." (few seconds pause) "OK Judy, (in a really husky voice) what are you wearing?"

5. Crying out, in well-simulated tones of pleasure and surprise, "Judy!! Is this really you? I can't believe it! Judy, how have you BEEN?" Hopefully, this will give Judy a few brief moments of terror as she tries to figure out where the heck she could know you from.

6. Say, "No," over and over. Be sure to vary the sound of each no, and keep an even tempo even as they're trying to speak. This is the most fun if you can keep going until they hang up.

7. If MCI calls trying to get you to sign up with their Family and Friends plan, reply, in as sinister a voice as you can muster, "I don't have any friends . . . would you be my friend?"

8. If they clean rugs: "Can you get blood out, you can? Well, how about goat blood or HUMAN blood - chicken blood too?"

9. Let the person go through their spiel, providing minimal but necessary feedback in the form of an occasional "Uh-huh, really, or, "That's fascinating." Finally, when they ask you to buy, ask them to marry you. They get all flustered, but just tell them you couldn't give your credit card number to someone who's a complete stranger.

10. Tell them you work for the same company they work for.

Example: Telemarketer: "This is Bill from Watertronics."

You: "Watertronics!! Hey I work for them too. Where are you calling from?"

Telemarketer: "Uh, Dallas, Texas." You: "Great, they have a group there too? How's business/the weather? Too bad the company has a policy against selling to employees! Oh well, see ya."

11. Tell the Telemarketer you are busy and if they will give you their phone number you will call them back. If they say they are not allowed to give out their number, then ask them for their home number and tell them you will call them at home (this is usually the most effective method of getting rid of Telemarketers). If the person says, "Well, I don't really want to get a call at home," say, "Yeah! Now you know how I feel." (smiling, of course...)

Good morning everyone.
Overcast here at the moment, not sure if laundry will be hung out yet or not, skies may clear.

Need to corral those darn dust bunnies today, plus do some baking in between doing laundry and cleaning.

Mrs Robin woke me up, then crow decided to chime in with her..very vocal and very loud ,bless their hearts.

Shirley our flowers are gingerly poking up through the ground, my rhubarb is starting to leaf out though. Your trip will be a sad one but one your friend will appreciate very much.

Jane , that old geezer was letting you know, you still "have it". You likely made that mans day for him..

Callie, I was listening to the radio on my way to the vets and they were giving out all the roads that had been closed due to flooding. I know we need Spring rains but sometimes we get a bit too much.

Gloria, yesterday was a hurry up and wait day and when we got home I did a whole lot of nothing.Going to the city really makes me tired. We took the dogs with us and while hubby was getting chemo I would check on them or take them out for a walk.

Hal, glad your feeling a lot better and hope it continues .

Larry, I don't know if the crow won but it amazed me to think he would pick on that big bird. The wild turkeys are getting out of hand here ,they make a mess when they go through a vehicle windshield and it is happening more often now.

June, sounds like you had the perfect day, and you feel much better too!! I agree with you about the ol geezer.

Better get ready to get my work done.

Enjoy your day everyone..

Good morning Everyfriend!  Yep, I took the old geezer
s flirting as a compliment and he went away smiling.  I forgot to say that I actually hugged another old geezer.  He told me he's 98, lives alone and takes care of his own needs.  His wife passed away 2 years ago at the age of 94.  I just thought he deserved a hug and I told him so.  He went away smiling, too.

I think that God rewards our gathering years with little special events and some people don't even notice them.

Guess I better feed the doggies and put the clothes in the dryer.  I forgot them last night but I want to change the bed today and that means more laundry.

Amy, are those "bunnies" breeding?  I think mine are!  It's a good thing I like bunnies!

Later friends!  Make today a good one!

I forgot to mention my memorable telemarketer call.  She told me that she was calling to help me out.  I asked her how she'd do that and she asked if my credit card debt totaled more than $10,000.00.  I said "NO" and she hung up on me.

Daughter and SIL will visit today.  We have mainly rain but snow in showing on the wooden fence by the ravine in back.  Something is wrong with the thermostat - it was 63 degrees in here this morning.  Maybe Don set it that low - he is from Duluth, Minnesota so he was used to colder morning than normal.

Jeanne:  LOL   - good story.

Larry:  Someone still has the dresser - I forget.  I hope Pat will find a solution for her pain that keeps her awake.

Callie:  I always think springtime is worse for tornadoes - we had a tornado at the end of May (when we lived in Minnesota) that they didn't even give a warning because no one thought it was threatening.  Figure that!  Maybe you should keep your phone plugged in all night long - take care.

Marilyne, I fear I am a pretty talkative person and seldom see a stranger.  This week sitting in the doctors office I struck up an interesting conversation with a lady sitting next to me with her husband.  We started to talk and she shared that she has a rare genetic condition and has to have weekly infusions that cost $18,000 per week.  (The per week isn't a typo.)  I about fell out of my chair.  Sorry to read that you have the paralyzed vocal cord and hope that one day it starts to work again.  I would be in a quandary if I couldn't talk although my voice lets weaker as I get more tired throughout the day.

I haven't read the posting from yesterday and this morning yet but need to go lay down and see if I can get my heart to settle down.  I will be back later this morning or this afternoon.

Good Morning,

I actually have the furnace on this morning!  Crazy Oklahoma weather!!!!

Carol,  my land line is always on; the BLARE was on my cell phone.  However, I don't want an automatic warning about anything "yelling" at me from anywhere!
I also have an old-fashioned phone that doesn't require electricity and I plug it in when there's a possibility of the electric power going out.  It, of course, has the same connection as my land line.
DIL told me how to get rid of the Emergency Message warnings on my cell phone....and I did!

Gloria,  I didn't realize coleus had flowers when I first started putting them in.   Soon learned to snip them off.
Most of my windows are on the north in this duplex so I no longer have house plants.

Amy, there are a lot of creeks that run through my town and that means a lot of streets flood during rains like we had yesterday.   Some silly people insist on trying to drive through the water and get stuck so rescue crews are always busy.  The advertised slogan is "Turn around. Don't drown".  Yesterday I heard "A car is not a boat.  It won't float".
The water usually recedes quickly but our red clay soil makes for a lot of icky mud.

June,  I've also read all or most of Fern Michael's books.   The one you just finished is part of a "Kentucky" series.  Hope you can find the others.

My cupboard is beginning to look like Mother Hubbard's.  Better do something about that.

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

Callie, I've heard that north windows are good for African violets.  I have only a north slider and I do have house plants there - all on a marble-top table.  Some flower, some don't.

I woke to 32 degrees this morning but it is about 50 now.  With the sun shining, you know it is a beautiful day.

Good Saturday morning my dear friends. May this be a happy healthful day for all.

Bis, what a delight to see you posting again. You are SO missed my darling friend. God is hearing and answering our prayers, and I am very, very thankful. This has been a long siege for you this time Bis, and I'm sure you are eager to have it all over with and back home again. God willing, the rest of your healing will be speedy. I'm sending you love and prayers, always.

Larry, it is hard to believe that anyone can afford 18,000.00 dollar payments every single week. I hope the lady has a great insurance policy and what happens when the income runs out ?
Larry, another bonus for us having the Soda Shoppe to visit with one another…you don't have to use you voice. Do you have arterial fibrillation ? My son has that, but it can be controlled with medication, thankfully. You are wise to know when you must rest and relax.

Amy, thank you for the wisdom of Mother Teresa. She lived what she spoke. My "day" consists of the hours from 6 a.m. till 1 or 2 p.m., then I crash. Book and sleep, but I am thankful I am free to do as needed.

My telemarketer says about six words and I just hang up. It sounds like a recording..always a young woman…so I never say a word.

Gloria, we have a whole bunch of Fern Michaels books at the library so I will plow on through them. I know I have read a sequel to this one, but it doesn't matter. She writes so well it is easy to enjoy, even if it is not in sequence. I switch from light reading to C.S. Lewis, and also we have a section of what is titled Christian fiction, so I am reading Stephanie Grace Whitson's books too. Three different authors, three different styles…all entrancing. I too am getting ready for bed by 7 p.m. Teeth, washing face, medicating legs, then book and bed.

Callie, as I told Gloria, I have read one or two sequels to Kentucky Rich, but it doesn't matter, as the author connects the novels so well. Interesting how several of us like the same author.

Good morning, EVERYFIEND...ESPECIALLY our Joan!

Dreary and cool in Austin this morning.  This coming week it is to get into the mid-ninties!  Yikes!

Snow on the back fence this morning, CAROL?  Our oldest grand is headed to his lacrosse game quite near, behind the PO on Quebec.  It is never that close to us when we are home.  They told them to dress warm, so I knew it must be cool today.

LARRY, I hope your heart settles down and you can enjoy your day.

Thank you, AMY.  Love the Mother Theresa saying.

GLORIA, your solicited quotes are good ones.

JANE, always nice to do something that makes others smile, including you.

Bob is ready to GO....so have a good day.

Hi, JUNE!

Turned out to be a lovely day here, I put laundry on the line and in no time was bringing it back in. Wind had it dry in no time. While hanging it out, I listened to a partridge drumming and then a paleated woodpecker hammering into a tree while overhead a Great Blue Huron flew by...Spring is returning here..

Gingersnap cookies, sour cream cake and hot  tea biscuits are in the hidey hole to nibble on. Think I am going to call it a day  and just go play in the sewing room now.

Good Afternoon Everyone!

Another treat today, Joanie has posted and is on the mend.  What more could we ask for.  Hurry back Joan, we sure miss you.

Larry, hope you are feeling better this afternoon.  I was up and out to take some stuff to be shredded at the bank this morning, but soon lost most of my energy.  Took a little nap and feel somewhat better.

Amy, any limits on the goodies in the hidey hole?

Like Jenny said it is a cloudy, dreary day and turn pretty cool, but it wont last, as she also said.

Weather is not good for Texas open, but not many named players this year.

Everyone have a great day.

Hal, you did a good chore today, and of course it wore you out. You have been sick my friend, and you are healing. Be glad you got to the bank and back again. Cheers!!

Janie, wasn't that a nice treat to have our Bis pop in on us ?? It made my day.

I took a morning walk, and picked up a couple more books at the library. I like to keep extras on hand, never knowing when I may not be able to get out. Then home for a bit and down for lunch. Ate with a different lady today, had a good chat. Had a salad plate of three different salads, very tasty. Home to nap, of course, and read, then took another nice walk. It is a beautiful day..soft breezes, 84 degrees..could not ask for better.

I have been MIA for a while.   My computer was in the shop and I sure did miss it.

I did not go back and read a lot of the past messages, but was so happy to see a message from Joan a few minutes ago.  I had been hoping that she might have posted something here while I was not on the computer.   Joan, so happy that you are feeling well enough to visit here.  You have really been missed.

Time for me to get off here and get to bed.  Since I am a night owl,  it isn't unusual for me to still be up, but I do need to get some sleep.  Did not sleep well last night.

Have a good Sunday.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  We have a cold morning today.  it's only 34º right now.  It's supposed to be sunny all day and will get into the low 60s later today.  It's definitely Spring in Central PA.  You can't depend on the weather being anything you expect!  What you can depend on is UNPREDICTABLE!

Joy, I missed you.  I was wondering where you were.  Nice to see you back.  Computer problems have become the bane or our existance haven't they>

I have a busy day today and I really don't feel up to par!  I didn't sleep well for the past two nights and that makes for a sluggish day.  I've decided that God will understand if I don't go to church this morning.  I just don't feel up to getting ready.

I hope you all have a lovely day.  Maybe the sunshine will have a good effect on me.  I'll depend on that!  I wish you all "sunshine".

Good morning everyone.

A beautiful sunny day here, temp is 28 but on the rise. Today is a day of rest, only VON coming today and after that it is a free day.

Joan ,so good to see you in here, we have certainly missed you and pray for a speedy recovery for you.

Jane,I am sure He will understand and you need a day of rest too. When we don't get a good nights sleep it makes us really tired the next day but you have had two nights of no rest.

Callie, I don't understand why people have to test the waters so to speak. We had a 28 year old drown a couple of weeks ago.He was out in a paddle boat and it took on water. The ice has just gone out of the lakes so it is freezing cold..and he did have a life jacket....in the boat not on him!!

Lloyd, good morning, I am glad you liked it. How is your eye coming along?

Better go get ready to meet the day.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Hi everyone.  It is another lovely Sunday morning here in South Carolina. I really have nothing to write about yesterday as spent almost the entire day laying in the bed as just couldn't get rid of the dull pain in my chest.  I did get a good nights sleep and got up feeling better this morning.  I fixed Pat's breakfast and emptied the dishwasher and am now having my breakfast.  I am very hopeful that I will be up to attending Sunday School and Church this morning.  Pat will not be attending. I will pick up something for our lunch and that will be it for today.  I plan on watching the end of the golf tournament down in Texas in the late afternoon.

Jenny, after I laid down around 9:30 yesterday morning the severe pain left but I had a dull pain in my chest the rest of the day and was very tired.  I do feel much better today.

Amy, it has been years since I smelled the fresh scent of laundry dried on an outside line.  One of my memories of growing up on the farm where we had three long clothes lines.  Pat saw her first hummingbird yesterday and it was back this morning.  She gets a lot of pleasure from watching them.

Hal, usually if I can go to sleep the discomfort in my chest will go away.  However, that did not happen yesterday.  I am waiting for my bank to announce their annual shredding day as have a large stack of papers to have shredded.  I think it is usually in May they have this event.

June, are you limited to how many books you can check out of your library at a time?

Joy, good to see you back posting.  I always find it a strange experience if I don't have access to a computer.  Now with my iPad and iPhone that is never a problem.  Pat and I each have two computers.  One by our easy chairs and I have a desktop in my office and she has an older laptop in her sewing room.  My wife is also a night owl.

JaneS, you are wise to take a rest day and not push yourself if you are not feeling well.

Good morning everyone, rain  finally stopped and the sun is shining this morning. Hopefully I will get out later and enjoy some fresh air and the sun. Have not been out in 2 days and am in need for some of it.

AMY  glad you checked on your fogs while at the hospital and took them and you for some exercise. Those dust bunnies sure are pests aren't they? We have a lot of wild turkeys here now. I have seen a flock of them walking through my son's orchard a few times.  They did no damage but I was so surprised the first time I saw so many of them like that. When I get a call from Microsoft telling me they have learned I am having computer problems I tell them I do not have a PC.

JANE  those geezers need a hug at times and you made one's day with that hug.

AMY  thanks for the quote by Mother Teresa. So true.

CAROL  I had my heat on the last 2 days because of the dampness because of the rain we had.

CALLIE  I still have my old wall phone. When I moved my grandson wanted to throw it away but I would not let him. At times I feel like plugging it into the place in the kitchen where there is a plug for it. I learned to snip off the coleus flowers as soon as I saw them, made leggy plants if left and the bushed out more without them. My windows face south west but the baseboard heat is too much for them in the windows. Even the few I have are looking sick. Here we hear on TV all the time about driving on flooded roads but there is always some who think they can drive through and get stuck. Glad we do not have clay for soil here, I know it can really stick to the bottoms of shoes. My daugher had it is San Diego and it is the same where they are now in Arizona. I was sad at the end of the Fern Michaels Kentucky books. Did you read her series about the Sisterhood?  I enjoyed those, too.

JOAN  oh so good to see you here again. I am so glad you are starting to feel better. Now to get your strength back so you can go home and be here at least once a day again. We have all missed you so much. I told you before, YOU are what keeps us together here in the SS. Prayers continue for you.

JUNE  I let my answering machine take my calls. If I know the number I will answer and if I don't I let it ring  and most times they hang up. I get calls from all over the country and at times there is no number showing, just says cell phone or private number.

JENNY  too early in the season to see temperature in the 90's.

AMY  glad you enjoyed the sounds of nature when hanging clothes. So many never listen to the sounds of birds. My daughter is enjoying the smell of line dried clothes again.

HAL  glad the nap made you feel better. My couch is where I spend time every afternoon, never sleep but it helps.

JOY  not nice when we cannot get onto our computers. I know how I felt when this one went back to the factory twice.

JANE  we are to get into the 50's today but with the sun shining again it will feel great. More rain in the forecast for Tuesday. Sorry you had a couple of bad sleeping nights, I know how that feels. Rest today.

LLOYD  good morning.

LARRY  glad you feel better this morning.

Good morning Gloria, I did have to chase dust bunnies again today..I found out two things while doing it too. One you can not no matter how hard you try to vacuum up a sun beam...........and Dyson makes a good vacuum as I vacuumed close to my Golden girl ,the feathers on her tail got vacuumed up!!! All she did was throw me a discussed look as if to say "Oh Mom really"
