A good Thursday morning to EVERYFRIEND,

Thank you, JOAN, for our goodies today.  I especially liked FOOD FOR THOUGHT.  I am sorry to read you are having car problems and it is good that Joe will be returning to help you with that.

PHYLLIS, I appreciate your comment regarding my dad.  I do understand, I really do, but I just feel so sad that he may not see his great grand's ever again, and certainly not all together.  I would never force him to make the trip if he does not want to.

HAL, I bet you looked quite sharp when you walked out of that sports hair cut place!  I am feeling your fear of possibly not ever seeing your granddaughter again.  I hope this does not come to pass.  😪

AMY, happy to read that you were going to be able to have lunch with your DIðŸ'".

Our Chicago Family flew in last night to spend a few days at their Vail Home.  I do not know if we are going to get to see them or not.  Sure hope we do.

LARRY, it is amazing how quickly they can throw up these homes.  Give my best to Pat.  I hope she feels better soon.

Thinking about you, JANE.  Hugs.

GLORIA de, my continued thoughts and prayers to Jess, and to YOU.

Today is our #3 grandson's 8th Birthday.  My goodness the time is passing quickly.  I hope we will get to see him today, but nothing has been said.  They have all these after school/evening practices and nothing is normal any more! 😪 His friends party is Saturday, but we normally have a family party ON the day.  Will see.

I wish you all a wonderful day....JACKIE, I hope yours was a good one!

No rain yet here and today will be up in the high 90s some part of our area will go over the 100 deg.
Later I have to drive 35 miles or so. Easier than having GD bring the children over here to do  anything. Just to hot for me to be out on the town. So will wait until about 5:30 and head over to my Daughters. Until then just stay indoors. Maybe get another nap in about 1pm. Can do some cooking for the freezer as the meat already thawed out.

Surprised that my grass as not burned up as no rain for at least 9 days. They again are saying tomorrow night. Never did get my house Jet washed . so dirty. Specially windows. Car the same way. Been washed 3 times.
Would like to see a fashion show being held on Saturday at the Botanical Gardens. Mostly from the 1930s to 50s. Swimming fashions.
Also Sunday plan to see the Movie "The Innocents " True story. Sad though.

Good afternoon, it is also very hot here.

First I have to thank ervyone for the thoughts and prays for Jess.  Yes it is going to be a long hall.  Of course he is not only worrried about his health, but working again.

Larry, Not get a bit of rain. Yesterday was a scare when it came across the TV to be prepared for a tornnato, out here, which is unheard of.  It was raining up Island, but not here.  Later the TV said a tornato had come down in Mattituck, which is about 10 miles east of us. Lucky mostley tree and wire damage, but a house was struck by lighting and burnt down.  We did not get one drop of rain.

Thanks Joan, for good reading.

I have now got my Urologist referral from my local GP..... Got some time to wait as I was given two hospital choices so I can choose and book it myself......Its all clever stuff now, I have a three set of three digits and a pass word code if I am booking online, then the available date comes up....sadly the earliest appointment at my chosen hospital same hospital I saw my Gynaecologist the other day was for 9th November, I have snapped that appointment up, given a choice of three appointment times, same day, I chose the earlier of the three.....The other hospital which was closer but a smaller hospital, had no available appointments.....
I printed out my appointment booking confirmation....

Oh and I did look up the three Urologists at this hospital, all seem to have a good reputation.....also the other top hospitals they have done, or do, work from...

JoanFL

Jenny--Car problems are part of owning a vehicle, but this is an unusual problem.  Happy 8th Birthday to your #3 grandson.  I hope you get to see your Chicago family while they are at their Vail place.

JeanneP--No rain here either and the grass is turning brown.  Although we all have sprinkler system, the HOA turned them off due to shortage of reclaimed water.

Linedancer--Thank heavens the tornado didn't come any closer to you.

Vanilla-Jackie--Glad you got the appointment with the Urologist, but that sure is a long time to wait.

Joan, the Info online before booking gives you the estimated amount of weeks to wait, cant remember if it was 12 or 16,....... yes this is our NHS and there well known waiting system.......

I think reading between the lines, my GP stated that my bleed is neither getting worse ( heavier, ) nor am I losing weight, so it is not seen as urgent in her books....and I have to agree on both counts....Although when I asked the question, Gyno never found cancer but is there still that possibility Urologist might, she said yes, but she felt that was very doubtful.....

Mary Ann

I saw my optometrist this morning and the change in my eyes is not enough to warrant new glasses.  She dilated my pupils and I still feel the dilation although it's better than it was.

We haven't had rain in a long time, either, and I think the forecast is for some Friday.  I'll believe it when I see it.  We sprinkle the lawns from the pond/drainage ditch by my condo.

My thanks to those of you who BOLD and HIGHLIGHT your posts, making it much easier for old eyes to read the message.

Mary Ann

Shirley

Mary Ann, I had not thought about that but will try to remember.  Is blue the best color to see or what is easiest on your eyes?   Hot & very humid, to feel like about 105°..... feels worse to me, can't catch my breath walking out the door.

Amy

not sure this will work but will try the bold font plus blue.  Got back from the city pooped but we did have a good day..dh got off lightly with this Dr.  and we had a fantastic lunch with our daughter in love..Swiss Chalet did all the work :)
Hal, I meant to mention earlier waterboy was my Dad's nickname and he was an honorable hardworking man........just like you so be proud when someone calls you that :)  We don't need any supper tonight...maybe a cuppa tea

Larry, I hope Pat feels better soon.

Mary Ann, and anyone else who prefers the bold, I apologize because I cannot do any special effects.  Anything I click on up there does not work.  I don't know what is happening because I used to be able to do that.  I can't use the special effects or the emoticons.  I think this has something to do with the fact that Windows 10 downloaded on my computer because it seems to have been happening ever since that time.  I might be wrong but I really don't know what to do to get them back.

I went to lunch with Beverly today at the restaurant at the home where her mother used to live.  Then we went to WM and we both did a little shopping and I took her back to her other friend's house.  It is so hot and humid here that I couldn't wait to get home and relax in the A/C.  And tonight, I'm going to do a whole lot of NOTHING.

Enjoy the rest of your day, Everyfriend!

I just received this announcement today.  My great-niece in Wichita had beautiful identical girls.  Maggie weighed 5lbs, 6oz, 17in.  Mary weighs 5lbs, 6oz, 17in.  They can't be any more identical than that!  Here they are with big sister, Ellie.  Click thumbnail to see full size.

PHYLLIS, one of the best baby photos I have ever seen.......Welcome into our world Maggie and Mary.......looks like they both have their guardian angel with them, re, big sis Ellie...

My, that was quite some weight to be carrying....almost 11lbs...

Mary Ann

Shirley and Amy, thank you both.  Your posts were both "Bold and Beautiful".  Shirley, any dark color works; we've had the discussion in Norm's B&T and some have said that teal does not work.  Nor does yellow.

Jane, I know what you mean about Windows 10 goofing things up.  This computer is Windows 7 and I have trouble with it too.  I do think on the computer I let Windows 10 download over Windows 7 that I can still use Bold and Color.

It's funny in a way but today I received a request for a HP survey and I was ready to take it.  I could not get the first thing of the survey - error message.  Then there was a place if I had trouble with the survey I should click there.  I did and got the Maelor Deamon message.  Now I'm wondering if it was a scam.  I'll go back and check the address.

So don't worry, Jane, I know not everyone can or will do the Bold and Color, but it sure helps - more than just me.

Mary Ann

Mary Ann

Phyllis, how nice to have identical twins in the family.  Cute picture of all three girls.
And congratulations to the entire family.

Vanilla-Jackie--Your healthcare system differs quite a bit from ours.

Mary Ann--That's good news that your eyes haven't changed enough that you need new glasses.

Shirley--I have great difficulty breathing with our heat and humidity.

Janie--You can manually code bold and color like I do.  Enjoy your evening of relaxation.

Amy--It worked.

Phyllis--Maggie, Mary and Ellie are beautiful.  My twin weighed 5 lbs. 2 oz., and I weighed 2 lbs. 5 oz.

Shirley

Wow, Phyll.... what darling twins and beautiful older sister!  I always wanted twins since my twin aunts had so much fun all their lives.

Sandy, Fe always looks so happy, know that comes from loving parents.  I do think the "next generation" down is doing a great job with their babies (my great-grands)...

Lloyd, I'm sure you will be eager to see those twins.... I have no doubt they will have a loving family, you and Nancy are such devoted people to all your children & grands.  Congratulations!

Good night to all, sweet dreams and God Bless... one more feeding for the cats & I am heading to bed.

The Broken Doll

Little Emily, the minister's daughter, ran into the house, crying as though her heart would break.

"What's wrong, dear?" asked the pastor.

"My doll! Billy broke it!" she sobbed.

"How did he break it, Emily?"

"I hit him over the head with it."

Food For Thought

Stand

Scripture Reading: Psalm 73
When I tried to understand all this, it troubled me deeply till I entered the sanctuary of God; then I understood their final destiny.
Psalm 73:16-17
A woman shared how she had walked away from God because of all the evil and suffering in the world. Why would a good God let so much evil and suffering happen?
The psalmist in today’s verses tells us that he too almost slipped in his relationship with God. He had doubts when he saw the prosperity of the wicked. Why do ruthless, selfish, cutthroat people do so well? Why do the unjust prosper?
What is the solution to the doubts that often cause us to struggle? The psalmist says that his doubts troubled him deeply until he “entered the sanctuary of God.” Even if we are in a place of unbelief and filled with doubts, we can find healing in a community of believers who reach out to God in praise and worship. God is bigger than our intellect, so engaging him with our heart and emotion can help us to grow spiritually.
And what the psalmist came to learn in God’s presence was that the wicked, who honor nothing, have nothing in the end. They are swept away while the righteous are strengthened to stand. We can hold on to God, who continually holds us. Further, the psalmist finds he must share the good news. “It is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds.” In the strength that only God can give, may we all echo these words.
Father, we wrestle with doubts and unbelief. Help us to overcome our unbelief as we enter your presence to find the Savior who loves us. Amen.

I'm up and attem this morning.  I have to go by the clinic for blood work on my way to work this morning.  This will make for a long morning with no food before work.  I do have a bottle of iced coffee ready to take with me and a small container of nuts and dried cranberries.  No time to stop for anything on the way.  I think I'll pack a sandwich to eat on my break.

The babies are beautiful!  And I know how the mother felt.  I carried 10 lbs. and 10 ounces of twins through the hot summer giving birth in September!  But they were worth every moment of discomfort!  And when I held them in my arms, I forgot the discomfort.  Back in those days, we didn't really know what we were having and mine were a total surprise!

I hope you all have a wonderful day full of whatever you wish for!  It's going to be HOT and HUMID here.

Talking of baby birth weights....my daughter was a heavy 8lbs 13oz at birth, and she was just one baby, not twins.....

Good Friday, almost mid day here in UK......

As I am typing two men from our parkhome site, think one is our manager are both decked out in usual casual clothes armed with an electric, or do they run on fuel? as there is a lot of smoke fumes coming from the other side, doing hedge trimming...they are in our back garden doing our overgrown hedge, first man doing the front of hedge, manager following doing the top with a much longer cutting handle..I stood at the back waiting to thank them but one turned and noticed me, I could only smile and utter a thank you, he continued as he couldn't here me as the men both have ear muffs from the noise....Well at least it saves me the job of trimming the hedge manually.....last time I tried that it took me three separate days, I could only do so much at a time before my MS started taking affect, which never took long.....

Edited... silence, the cutting machines are quiet, their ear muffs are off, and they are clearing up our side, I have just been out to thank them and offer them a tea or coffee, told them I dont have any beer to offer them, but manager smiled and declined my offer....R is out shopping so has no idea our hedge is all neat and tidy....Now I will be able to throw over the hedge any old bread we have for the birds,.... before the hedge was too high and the slices of bread got stuck on the branches....plus I kept losing my balance when trying to throw, I just didn't have the strength for it to reach the other side...

Our parkhome manager is a real grafter, not afraid of hard manual work....

JoanFL

Good morning, Amy.  No rain here, but it is hot and muggy!!

Janie--Good morning.  Good thing you are taking a snack with you since you must fast for blood work and then go directly to work.  Bet that sandwich will taste good when you have your break.  I guess it's HOT and HUMID many places.

Good morning Vanilla-Jackie.  How nice to have the grounds people trim your hedges.  Mine are done by the HOA.  Of course, we pay large fees to the HOA for the services we get.

Joan...... we do have to pay a monthly ground rent fee for the privilege of having our home fixed on this parkhome site, but not sure what else this fee covers, but since I have been here these last 4 & a half months I have found our manager to be a godsend , a jack of all trades, he is the one who came to our-Rs aid the morning we had our bathroom flood, he knew what to do, and he saved the day...

Good Morning Everyone, from
the hot and  very humid Rocky Coast of Maine.

I had my clothes packed up,  ready to
go downstairs and do my laundry,  but
the minute that I opened the door and
that humidity hit me in the face,  I decided
to do my laundry later this week, when
it is cooler.

All is well here -  Wishing Everyone
