That is actually the easier option, Angel, and one that we had in the old Seniors & Friends before it crashed.  You can post the image here or a thumbnail of it or a shortcut to it.  Very easy and you don't have to use the Gallery at all if you don't want to.

Example:  This is a thumbnail of a graphics lesson that I did and if anyone here wants to see it full size they just click on it.  (EDIT:  I don't like steampunk graphics but it had to be done to fulfill the lesson requirements so I did it.  Putting it together was actually kind of fun.)   The original image is stored in my files on my computer.

Here is what I still miss in my Home town UK. It falls on JUly 16 or the closest Saturday. Mostly just done now in my part of the North of UK. Lancashire also still in Yorkshire. Called the Rushbearing Festival. Things take longer to Change up in the North Cumbria area. Hate to see them go. We had such fun. Glad someone put the 2013 one on line. Just skip the rest. Go to the Video http://brennaaubrey.net/2013/03/19/rushbearing-festival/

Gloria de, I hope you had good news on the healing of your leg today. It took me about 3 months to heal an open sore on the calf of my leg.

I hope our Bis is having a super time with her beloved family, and that she doesn't get too tired out.

I went down for lunch, then returned for a movie at 1:30. It was pretty sad so though I sat through most of it, I did leave a bit before it ended.

I'm going down to the mail room now and check for my mail…if any…then perhaps a walk around the grounds as the weather is beautiful, then I will be home for the day. Will see you all later.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Amy

June, thank you for the birthday wishes!!

Amy, I hope you had a most beautiful Birthday. To me a Birthday is a most special day for the celebrator, and with all you do for others, you certainly deserve to be congratulated.

We are having a lovely evening in Hemet. I have had my windows open all day and it has been so pleasant. What they call the "Sunroom" is an addition they added to the apartments . Mine faces East, with nice views, and this is where I spend the bulk of my waking hours. I have my computer desk out here on one end of the room and my other desk on the opposite end. In between I have two  two=shelf bookcases with plants on the top shelf along with brightly colored vases. books and other essentials on the bottom shelves. chairs, end tables. large t.v.,  and my single bed in the large area, a small kitchentte off to the side and the bathroom to the right of that, plus two large closets. It is small in square feet, but very adequate and home=like throughout. I'm really happy here.

I have had my supper, and been here, and watched enough new on the t.v., so now I will play some free cell and solitaire, and then get ready for an early bed and book.

I wish you all a very, very good night with a happy day to look forward to tomorrow. I love you all. June
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Food For Thought

Battle of Repentance

Scripture Reading: Genesis 4:1-16

The Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted?”
Genesis 4:6-7
While Cain is angry, God urges him to do what is right. God also warns Cain not to let sin become his master: “It desires to have you, but you must rule over it.” But Cain ignored God and soon murdered his brother.
When God speaks to Cain again, we might expect Cain to be trembling before the Lord and seeking mercy. We might also expect God to execute Cain for committing murder. Instead, we witness Cain being totally self-focused, while God is gracious. The Lord gives Cain every opportunity to repent. But Cain is so full of himself that instead of confessing his sin and seeing the pain of his brother, he complains, “My punishment is more than I can bear.”
The road to restoration is repentance, but it is a difficult road. We so often let pride rule us, claiming that our actions are justified and that someone or something else is at fault. Like Cain, we are also often heartless and exclaim, “Am I my brother’s keeper?”
In godly repentance we must come to our senses and own our wrongdoing. We must confess our sins before God. This takes humility and a great deal of strength. God’s grace and love enable us to break from our destructive self and live in freedom. Forgive us, Lord, for we have sinned.
Loving Father, I have sinned against heaven and earth. Blot out my selfishness and my offenses before you. I come to your cross seeking to be recon¬ciled. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

G'morning all.  Thank you JeanneP, that saved me searching for the 'Lancashire Cloggers' for friends in Australia who also have connections with Lancashire, i'm sure it will go down a treat for them all, especially as they had not heard of Cloggers before !. .

Amy

Good morning everyone.

Another lovely day here better enjoy it as tomorrow it starts to heat up past the 90's!! Today is tidy up day and corral the dust bunnies . Listening to a loon call at the moment, I don't think I would ever tire of the sound.

Jenny,thank you for the wishes.

June, I sure did have a great day  with my friends here topping it all off!!

Joan, thank you for breakfast.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Are we really our brothers keepers?  And if we are, who are our keepers?  And when is it over?  Does it last our whole lives?  As you may assume, I'm having a rough time.  I think God is probably saying,
"Why doesn't she get on with it and let me do my job!"

Amy, if I forgot to wish you happy birthday, I'm sorry.  I thought I did but maybe I forgot to hit post.  I'm doing that a lot lately.  Just assume that I did and that there were balloons, cake and happy smiles.

I guess I better get this day on it's way.  Lots to do if I must be my "brother's keeper".

Jane, I'm feeling concerned about you.  How long will this situation go on?  Can an alternative be found? It isn't fair that out of the goodness of your heart your life is being so turned upside down.  I hope you can find a solution soon.

Good morning to all.  Joan, I hope you are enjoying Joe and his family a lot while they are visiting and that the weather hasn't been too disruptive.  I know your area needs rain very much and I hope you are getting some but don't want it to interrupt your plans.

Hi everyone it is very early for me but woke up a little after 2 am and laid here for awhile and decided I might as well do something productive so read all my email and mornings readings I do daily.

Yesterday turned out to be a very busy one.  I made a trip down to Aldi's for some groceries needed to prepare dinner last night. At noon I attended my meeting and then rested for awhile and then got busy filling out papers for my appointment this morning. I had totally forgotten that Pat had a 3:15 appointment with the chiropractor and she had gone to sleep in her chair but woke up a little after 3:15.  I called and they said to come on to the appointment so we were not too late.  The doctor explained the X-rays and what he felt was needed to help her. She will be seeing him three times a week for several weeks and then fewer times until she gets to the point where a once a month visit to maintain what has been accomplished. It will be a bit expensive but worth every cent if she can be made to feel better and live and active life doing what she enjoys doing. When we got home I got busy on supper.  Scott was here and helped as needed.

Today should be a little less hectic as we have some delicious beef and vegetable soup for supper tonight that I made with the remainder of the roast. I will see the Hematologist/Oncologist at 10 this morning and Pat has a five pm appointment back with the chiropractor.

They are pouring the cement this morning for the floor of the new house being built across the street.

No individual comments today as I don't have much time this morning before I need to leave the house and still have some things to accomplish before I do.  Hopefully tomorrow will have less demands on my time.

Good Morning Everyone!

Coffee is on and the patio awaits our presence.  Pup came in this morning as soon as she heard me stirring needing to natures call.  But she enjoyed a quick back rub and a little loving too.  Animals are such great friends.

I'm coming back slowly...  very slowly.  I missed too many days of Soda Shoppe to expect to catch up, so I'm behind on news but I'm trying to stay up to date from now on.  I will be reading but probably not doing much posting for a while - so please be patient with me.    :)

Gentle hug to you, Jeanne Lee.  So glad you're able to come back and see us.  Rest easy and take care.

JaneS,  another gentle hug to you, too.   There's no easy way to say,  "I just can't help you this time".

Jenny,  I understand your feelings - but from "the other side".   More and more,  I just don't feel like making the effort to keep up with the family to "go and do".  There's no way I would turn down going to Tulsa at the end of the month to see Miss Ellen in two productions but I am really dreading the pace of an overnight trip and trying to rest enough not to "squeak and creak".

Today will be pleasant - but busy.   Onward and Upward!

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere a lovely day.

JoanFL

I read all I missed while my family was here.  Got them on the road headed home now and will get myself rested.  I tend to overdo when they are here.  To top it off my a/c died yesterday, so we had to get that taken care of.  What did I ever do without a/c?

I pray for those that are ailing, physically or emotionally.

Good Morning Everyone from the
cool to warm with low humidity, rocky
coast of Maine.  In a couple of days the
heat and humidity is going to be knocking
on our door,  so for now I will enjoy
the cooler while I can.

I want to say "Good Job"  to the fellers
who are taking over the kitchen while
their wives are not up to the job.    I
know that some of you do not feel
comfortable doing it,  but I see that
you are doing the best you can and I
suspect that is very very good.    Lucky gals!

I got up this morning and cleaned out my
hall closet and am taking a couple of
gigantic bags of clothes down to the
thrift shop.      Few....  what a job
that was!!!

I am headed out now and will talk to
you all later...

Gloria

Good morning everyone. About now I wish I had a laptop so could sit anywhere with it.. My PC chair is comfortable but sitting too long is a no no these days. I do walk every day but not as much as I used to. Have spent more time on the couch watching TV. Did see a few good old movies, one was Guess Who's Coming to Dinner -Spencer Tracy, Kathrine Hepburn and Sidney Poitier.

PATRICIA  I have not tried the Gallery since the crash. Still use Photobucket. Even that I have not used lately.

PHYLLIS  like you, steampunk does not appeal to me either. I don't care for graphics that are too busy/noisy.

JUNE  I have always believed an east window is the best for growing plants. Mine always did better there before the strong sun of later in the day. Here my windows face southwest. Sun too strong then.

JOAN  a lightly toasted bagel and cream cheese will be great this morning. Thank you for today's goodies. Enjoy your son and family visit.

JANE  maybe you should tell those who are giving you worries to start solving their own problems and leave you to enjoy your life. Sounds heartless but there comes a time when they have to make their own decisions and pray they make the right ones.

JEANNE LEE  so good seeing your post this morning. I hope you continue to feel better each day. Just a brief hello from you will let us know you are OK.

JOAN  yikes where you live that AC is a necessity. That was a brief visit but I know you enjoyed seeing them. Rest up now.

Have a great day everyone.

I also wanted to say hi to Jeanne Lee ..  so good to
see you posting again.   I hope that you are feeling
more like your ole self,  soon.

I took the clothes down to the thrift shop
(most of them I bought there when I was
heavier)    When I go looking for clothes these
days,  I have a hard time trying to get
away from the larger  women's sizes that
I have been use to buying.      So this morning
I dumped everything that is too big for me.
My closet has been wiped out!

Also,  I  have large folding doors and have
removed them,  and replaced them with the
navy room darkening curtains that I have up
to my windows. I have done this to now to
two closets.  (one I use as a pantry) ..  I hate
those large folding doors!)   For me they just
get in the way,  so I took them off.     The
navy blue room darkening curtains look
very neat being used as my new closet doors.

I also got some arm chair covers for my
desk chair.    I sit in it so often that the arms
start to wear out, and crack and get very
uncomfortable  (scratchy)  ...
These new covers fit nicely over the old
ones and are comfortable and protect my
arms...

Wow,  I am just on the move today!!!

Now to sit back, relax and not eat.

Sandy

Jeanne Lee, it is good to see your post.  I hope you continue to improve in health so you can be with us more often.

JeanneP, your hometown dancers reminded me of the Klompen dancers in Holland MI during the annual Tulip Festival.  Our governor dons a Dutch costume and dances along with the others and he/she also takes a broom to the streets to clean them.

Joan, rest as much as you can following the departure of your family.  I know you did enjoy their visit, now you can recuperate.

Gloria, I have felt a north window was good for plants, however, east is good too.  Maybe I feel that way because I only have a north window/slider for my plants.

Larry, you're on your way to being a good cook.  After my mother died, my dad did most of the cooking, except I did it weekend.

Mary Ann

June Drabek

Janie, I wish I could be of help to you. It seems you have been burdened for more than several weeks now. I hope matters you are trying to handle do no make you sick. We cannot live others lives for them, some things are beyond our reach. Cain set out to destroy, not to help.

Larry, it sounds like you and Jane are traveling the same path…doing more that you are prepared to handle. We did not train to be caregivers at the expense of ruining our own lives.

Jeanne, I am so sorry you are having a difficult time getting your strength back. I do hope you have a good friend or neighbor that can keep you supplied with meals and other needs. It is so frustrating to be laid low and not have assistance nearby. There is always someone available in your local Church, if you just reach out. They should be able to direct you to assistance if unable to give it themselves.

Callie, I'm with you. I just cannot force myself to do what the body can no longer handle, and socializing away from home is a definite no-no, much less give physical assistance to anyone.

Bis, it must have been difficult to say Goodbye to your beloved family. I can readily understand you getting tired. When we are physically ill we tend to push ourselves beyond the "able" point, then have to suffer for it later. So take a needed time-out dear and recover.

Gloria, you and I are following the same path. We can't be too far away from our bed or couch..I no longer have a couch, but the recliner works very well. I actually get slightly dizzy now if I am vertical for too long a period of time. Have to keep reminding myself not to slump, as that posture makes it harder to breathe.

Sandy, I think you are amazing at all that you can do. You are not as old as many of us, but having been through  stroke, you are a marvel. Keep it up girl.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

JoanFL

[Gloria--You're right--must have a/c here.  I spent most of yesterday in my bedroom with the door shut while Joe and Kate handled getting the a/c fixed.  It's the coolest room in my house--big ceiling fan and it's right over my bed.

Sandy--When you set out to do something, you do the "whole thing".:)

Mary Ann--I haven't done much since my family left.  They even washed the bedding and put it back on all their beds before they left.

June--I don't feel sick--just tired.  Joe will be back in about a month.  My car is "sick" and he's started the process of getting that fixed.

Noticed one of the parkhomes has since been painted, it has now gone from a lovely pale blue to a much deeper colour, it really sticks out as being different, as most of the homes are a whitish or cream with the odd home being a pale pink or pale green....
I took some photos a few weeks ago of this walk, I have now downloaded them, forgot they were still in my camera..... when I fizzle them down to 20, I shall put them into Photopeach and show the clip on here......
