Oldiesmann: I'm not finding anything related to recipes on the site. I'll do some digging through the Internet Archive and see if I can dig them up. It's possible that got lost in the big server crash back in 2016

Good morning, Lloyd.  You're right.  It is difficult to drive when it's foggy.

Janie--Good morning.  You are so well organized with all you have to do.  Are you nearly done with all the candy?  I hope all in your WM line today are wearing a smile.

Good Morning Everyone!
I see our industrious ladies are all up and about their task.  No lazy bones in our group.

Janie, hope you have a good day at work and everyone is in the Christmas Spirit.

Amy, hope the sunshine pops through and your hubby's appointments all are on time and you have a nice ride/drive.

Lloyd, just play nice and don't hurt yourself today...... ;D

Me, nothing special today.  Have to call for a doctors appointment, but nothing serious just get results of my blood test and a quick chat.

Weather is clearing and some of Amy's and Don's weather on the way here, should arrive tonight or tomorrow.  Colder and maybe even freezing weather.  They haven't made up their mind.

JoanFL

Good morning, halkel.  They are forecasting frigid (for here) weather moving in tonight--today in the 80s--tomorrow daytime in 60s and possible 30s overnight tomorrow.

JaneS

Joanie, the pretzels are done and yes the making is almost done and then I can put the mess away.  But not much of it is packed yet for delivery.  That's my plan for the rest of the week.  I still have to make a bag of peanut clusters for my son (his favorite) and a bag of raisin clusters to go to Texas (her favorite...mine too!)  Then I have to pack the boxes that need to be sent.  That's my plan for the rest of the week.  Barring anything unforseen, it's doable.  Next week I'll try to decorate the inside.  Kiran will help with that.  I think I'm not going to get a tree this year.  The wreath on the outside gives me enough pleasure that I don't need a tree.  And the tree top angel can watch over the Nativity scene.

Now I'm off to take a shower and get ready to greet my public at Wally World.

Good morning everyone, this will be short. I read all the posts but have to be out of here in a couple of hours so things to do yet, like get into the shower. The snow we fgot yesterday is gone. The sun came out and melted it. More bad weather tomorrow. Will stay in tomorrow. Have a good day.

Cold, rainy day in NC.  After looking at the weather report I'm glad I'm no longer living in Colorado.  Frigid weather heading their way.  Stay warm and safe there in Denver, Jenny.

I'm staying in today.....a little household laundry to be done and probably a lot of reading.  Maybe I'll start a pot of lentil soup.  That sounds good on a dreary day.

Make it a good day, everyfriend.

Hi everyone on a overcast and still lightly rainy morning.  We have had about 2 1/4 inches of rain in the last two days.  It looks like it is about over as the prospects are low for the rest of the day and evening.  I got up this morning and fried up a pound of sausage and mixed up a new batch of sausage muffins for Pat's breakfast over the next few days.  I will try not to drop one of them on the floor as I did last time.  There is nothing specific on the calendar for today although we may make a trip to COSTCO later today as long as it is not raining.  Yesterday I did not attend my noon meeting as planned as my heart was letting me know it was there and that I needed to rest.  I didn't want to cook last night so we went to Ruby Tuesdays and had a delicious dinner.

June, sure glad that you had that open door to grab onto and prevented another fall. Mary Ann, that davenport was in the right place at the right time.

JaneS, I love your sense of humor.  The comment about the Christmas season being rather short or you would be rather wide is a classic.

Amy, it sounds like your DIL has definitely catch the quilting fever.  Hope you found good driving weather today.

JaneS, I had visions of you on a step ladder.  I got rid of my step ladder in place of a two step stool with a long handle to grip when I moved two years ago.  Glad to read you use only the step stool.

Mary Ann

It sounds like others weathers are about the same as ours - overcast and raw with a temp of 32 degrees.  It won't get to 40 the rest of the week.

I've got to address labels for cards.  I ordered stamps from the USPS and they're on the way and will be here in time to mail cards.  Time caught up with me this year and I missed a couple of early December birthdays - shame on me.

Mary Ann

JoanFL

Janie--You have a good plan and are organized to the "T".

Good morning, Gloria.  Hope your outing is for something fun.

Phyllis--Good morning.  Lentil soup sounds so good.  I haven't had that in years.

Lloyd--Keep warm.

Good morning, Larry.  Good you know when to rest when your body tells you it's needed.  You're a pro at making those biscuits.

Mary Ann--Good morning.  I used to send over 100 cards, but I have cut way back to just a few.

Sandy

Good Morning Everyone from the
icy cold, rocky coast of Maine.

I have lots of walking errands
to do but it is going to be too
cold and windy to get out there
and accomplish any thing.

So I will stay in and watch
the series "Billions" on Show Time.
And let Kelly take to me do my
errands tommorrow.

I am playing catch up on all the
series that I have desired to see
but overlooked these last few years..

I blame that on my having too many
choices.   Now I just have to learn
to enjoy the ones that I choose
to have.

All is well here,  but it
"Old Man Winter has his boot on
my face" ..   (giggle)

Have a good day,  Everyone.

Larry--Those muffins sure do look yummy.

Good morning, Sandy.  It's nice that Kelly takes you to do errands when it's too inclement for you to walk and do them.

Click for Melbourne, Florida Forecast

JeanneP

Larry. Those muffins do look good. Not tried making but think I will. Have the makings here.  Now if I can find your Recipe again on here. You remember what number it was.  Pat must really enjoy them.
So cold here now. Maybe a little more snow tomorrow. I had better go and fill my gas tank. Always afraid of the Battery going dead as I don't drive it as much. So should maybe go out on the interstate and put a few miles on to charge it up.
I don't have a garage. Battery pretty new but still needs to be run.

Mary Ann.  I have so many Grands and GGrands now along with the rest of family. I can't keep up with remembering birthdays either. I also forgot 2 this past week. I think now it is time to cut out the older ones. All live very far away.
JeanneP

JoanFL

JeanneP--I have a garage, and it doesn't get as cold here as there, but I think it's a good idea to take my car on the interstate regularly and open it up.

Good Afternoon Everyone...

I decided to dress up warmly and head out to do the errands that I can walk to,  Bank,
Drug Store, and Reny's department store, so that Kelly and I won't have to bother with
that stuff tomorrow.

I was very comfortable and it was an easy 1/2 mile walk, so I got these errands done so Kelly and I don't have to both with that stuff tomorrow.

There will be days this Winter when I won't be able to easily walk around town,  but
today was not one of them.

All is well,  Have a good day..

I'm here.. Had my leg check as usual, Went to our Community Residents program at 10 a.m. Now it is time to get back downstairs for lunch. Then it is off for Choir practice, and if I am still awake....I want to go to Balance and Mobility class at 2:45.

Time to go for lunch.....byeeeeeeeeee

June--You have a busy day.  Is your leg better?

The Women's Fellowship of my church had a Christmas Tea for all of the women of the church, plus any friends and/or relatives who wanted to attend.  I didn't count noses, but we had a good number of women there.  Our organist played a couple of classical pieces and several Christmas themed songs as our entertainment; he played the piano.  We had cupcakes, nuts, chocolate pieces, coffee and tea.

It is chilly out, but the sun has been shining.  I think we're at 40 degrees and will be there the rest of the week.  I was going to hunt for more Christmas cards and will do that yet today, otherwise, I'll let Tom pick some out for me.  I used to send close 100 cards, too, Joan, but no more.  I have about 25 cards and that may be enough, but I think I need a few more.  I ordered stamps from USPS and they have been shipped.  I should have my cards ready by the time the stamps arrive.

I do no Christmas baking any more, even for home and family.

Well, have you got your notice from SOC yet.  We got ours yesterday.
Thinking about taking a round the world trip.  Just thinking, not going,
no extra cash in my or my wife's "increase".  ::)  :crazy2:   :crazy2:

Well they say we got an increase, guess it went into Medicare.

June Drabek

Back from a goooood lunch. Cup of veg. soup, a thick turkey sandwich on sour dough bread, a side of mixed vegetables, carrot and celery sticks, a small glass of prune juice, a cup of coffee and a butterscotch brownie. I brought the brownie and half the sandwich home for supper tonight.

Right now I am mouthing a lemon drop candy, or two, trying to get my throat in shape for Choir Practice, which will occur in less than half an hour.

Bis, It seems it will take a long time for the leg to heal. Last time I had a wound on the calf of my leg it took months to heal. Due to the artery disease there is not enough blood flow to work from the inside out…as I understand it, hence the long healing period of time. This one had me up and walking the floor at 2 a.m. but when it calmed down I slept like a lamb till daylight.

Mary Ann, your Christmas Tea sounds very nice. Did Dot attend too ? I'm so happy that you and Dot maintain a truly close friendship. It is helpful to both of you.

Hal…You SOC sounds like my Gov. Pension. I had a raise in my pension that went to my Medical Ins. I'm not complaining…too old to go spend money anyway.

Gotta get down to Choir.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Sandy

I beat you hal.    I got a
four dollar  $4 increase.    (BFD)   :crazy2:

Good for you, Sandy, mine stayed the same.  Interesting while everything else goes up, SS does not.  I may have had an increase, but it would have been in the Medicare payment, so I stayed put.  I'm not kicking, at least I'm getting SS.

I liked the sound of your lunch, June, more than my tea refreshments because mine were all sweets except the nuts and I don't need a lot of sweets.  Tom just told me that Annie will be here for supper and we'll have lasagna - that will compensate.

Mary Ann

JeanneP

I got my SS also show in the would be a .003 increase. But looks like the monthly deductable changed. Can't find my last years.  But the end amount gives me exactly the same as 2016 is.  But can't complain. Enough for me.
JeanneP

Lloyd Hammond

well I got a increase but not in income it was in my supplemental Insurance. a $13.50 . the story of my Life.

Lloyd

JoanFL

Mary Ann--Your Women's Tea sounds great and the lasagna sounds wonderful--one of my favorite things.

halkel--I haven't received a notice yet.

June--Thanks for explaining about your wound and healing time.

Sandy--Good for you to get an increase.

JeanneP--Wonder why mine hasn't arrived?

Lloyd--My supplemental insurance went up,  too.

Back from Choir and exercise class, and I am tired. I think that is enough outing for me today. There is another program tonight..a group called "The Celebration of Life" singers, but my body says, "STAY HOME !", so I will.

I don't feel I am adding much to the choir, so I may quit after this session is over.I still love to sing, but for some reason my ears block up and I get no feed back. Very irritating.

I ordered some new pillow cases and they are made of microfiber. So I must go look to Mr. Google to tell me what microfiber is.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Hello Everyfriend!  I came home from work today totally exhausted.  I took the doggies out, gave them a snack, ate a hotdog and a handful of walnuts and submitted to the call of the couch!  I slept for two hours and woke up with a nasty headache so I took a couple Ibuprophen and changed position to the recliner with a nice cozy throw over me and slept another hour.

We've had supper and putzed a bit and now I have the chocolate on to make enough peanut clusters for one bag for my sone and a few extras for the mixed bags.  Also chocolate for a bag of raisin clusters for my Texas box and some leftovers for me and the mixed bags.  Once the chocolate is melted, it should take about an hour.  Then I'm going to hit the hay!  Sounds like a lot of sleeping but, like June, when the body calls, I answer!

Larry, I think I have my father's sense of humor.  Or as my husband used to say "time humor...it takes some time to realize you (that's me) told a joke".   I always loved my dad's humor.  I hope my kids and grands remember that about me.

My step stool has a high handle to hold onto also.  I inherited it from my sister.  When she moved into her last apartment, she had an in house handyman who brought his own tools.  My step stool died so she brought this one over to my house to replace it.  I thank her every time I use it.

I think the chocolate should be melted by now.  Later friends or maybe tomorrow.
