Good morning, Gloria.  I'm about ready to head out the door to go to the vampire.  BBL

Larry--Good morning.  I watched a bit of the convention last night, but then switched to something else.  I'd say you got good service replacing that hose.  I had a good breakfast out with a couple friends.

Good Morning Everyone!

I have been lazy this morning.  Was up early but just piddle around doing a whole lot of nothing except looking at paper, drinking coffee and eating some toast.

Larry I hope that works out on the sewing machine.  As a husband I know how hard it can be to figure out what to buy or get for special occasions. Sometimes we just agree not to buy either of us anything or buy something we both want. After 63 years not much that we need or want.  She has the checkbook and gets pretty much what she wants, when she wants.  And me, special to me is just being around the kids and observing.  Sometimes I have to think about how I was half of what caused it all.  ;)  And must say: "I do good work".
But got to give the Good Lord the credit. It was his gift to me, my family.

Joanie hope your blood work comes out perfect.  It is just such a pain, not literally, but having to go through the exercise.

Janie, bet you let out a big sigh of relief to get the job done on the curtains.  Knowing you I am surprised you didn't wash/starch/iron them afterwards...... :o

Got to go brush my teeth and wash my face.  Everyone have a great day.

Good Morning dear cyber friends and family, Twill be a bit warmer in Stanton today, 93 for a high.

My body is up, but my mind still seems to be sleeping. Whatever will be will be, and what we can't change we accept and make the best of what we have to work with, right ??

Junee, I too agree with Mr. Lincoln. If we knew what our tomorrows were to contain, we would go hide in a cave, or waste today waiting for tomorrow to arrive. As the song says, "One day at a time Sweet Jesus".

Jackie, that's the song alright. I sing it every morning. I prefer a different version though, this on is little too jazzy for my taste. I prefer a male voice, more on the deep, soft side.

Today will be Bible study a 10a.m. our Chaplain will lead it this week. at1;30 we will discuss current topics, At 2;30 we will be served root beer or coca cola floats, and at 3:00 we will have a Guess Who game, and that is fun too. I intend to attend all of them, with lunch time around noon. We are not obligated to participate in any or all of them..up to us. As long as the body is willing I will do as listed.d It the body says,"enough !" I will obey.

Hal, I feel as you do about family. They are number one on my list of things I hold dear. Also like you, I love to have them around and watch them interact, and just sit back and enjoy for a while, then I have had enough and need to have my quiet time.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

JoanFL

halkel--I hope my blood work is OK, too.  I am sick of tests.

June--You have a full schedule today with interesting things to do.  I, too, certainly hold my family dear.

Good afternoon, suppose to stay in the mid 70's.  I have to enjoy it, as the next 4 days is going to be very hot.  Like the rest of the country.

Joan, I will enjoy the biscuits and gravy.  About every two weeks I fix them.  I cheat I buy Libbys sausage &  gravy, I only find it at KMart. I get results right away when I go to the hematologist.  Once a month, last time I did not need a shot, as my blood out was 12.  I go again the end of the month.
I also have a lady, that lives in the park, to cut my hair.

Amy, glad your trip went well.

Gloria, we use to have a lady that lived across the street, who played a TV all the time loud.  I could hear it with the storm windows down, but no one complained, as she was very deaf.
I also have a hearing problems, but I use TVears. to listen to my TV.

Jackie, We have to have 4 complaints, before management will do anything. We do have one lady in the park who complains about everything. Out of the 580 homes in here, you just say her name, and they know who you are talking about. The police are use to her calls.

Not politics as we know it.....( humorous....) ;D

Politics - How it Works!

I told my son, "I want you to marry a girl of my choice."

He said, No!"

I told him, "It's Bill Gates' daughter!!"

He said, "OKAY!"

Got in touch with Bill Gates and told him, "I want your

daughter to marry my son!"

He said, "No!"

I told him My son is the CEO of the World Bank!

He said, "OKAY!"

Went to the President of the World Bank and told him

to make my son the CEO of the Bank.

He said, "No!"

Told him my son was Bill Gates' Son-in-Law!

He said, "OKAY!"

And that, is exactly how Politics works.

Janie--How nice of you to iron the curtains.

Good afternoon, EVERYFRIEND.

I have been rather lazy this morning....got my grocery ads done...make a list and hardly ever go by it, but it does keep me updated if there is something that I want or need.

Yesterday afternoon we were just ready to get out of here and took off for Black Hawk.  Enjoyed the ride and a nice lunch....enjoyed a bit of the one arm bandits for awhile, then they started taking ALL of my money...like they always do.

JACKIE, my first thought was just plain anger when I read about the neighbors call to you about turning the sound down.  I personally think he is a crotchety old man and you should just ignor him.  I do understand he can turn you in and that could cause problems for you.  How sad that you have to have someone that is not very nice for your neighbor.

JANIE, congrats to you for getting that curtain himming job done...you are one very good mama.

JOAN, I do hope your blood work all comes back I with a good report....I am behind on getting mine done...shame on me...time is just passing way too quickly!

You all enjoy the rest of your day.

Good Morning from the Interior. Cloudy this morning, black clouds and wind about with 80% of rain. The storm surge passed through town late afternoon and all the rivers are full to their banks. Thank goodness, for the dam system put in after the 1967 floods.

We are due to have rain until this Sunday and then partly cloudy/partly sunny. Since August is almost always rainy, I think we've seen the last of anything above the mid-seventies.   :'(

If it holds true to the past, which is doubtful with three summers of rain, August will be cloudy with rain and September, cooler, crisp and sunny with the start of fall.

Farrah was surprised and unhappy this morning when I awoke, showered and ground my coffee beans. She kept running to the yoga mat, calling "WIN" and then to her dishes on the kitchen mat, saying "WIN-Win" so piteously. But she is stuck with dry until the end of the month and I am not going to rush out and buy her another lb container of treats until the end of the month. Right now she is back under her bed probably sulking at having only dry to eat!

Vanilla-Jackie

Jenny, they dont call them " one arm bandits " for nothing...."  ;D

JoanFL

Jenny--It's great  you can go and to Black Hawk--nice ride, nice lunch and "one arm bandits" to relieve you of some $$.  :)  I have a good feeling that all that blood work is good.

halkel--Janie does a good job on whatever she attempts.

Angelface--If Farrah gets hungry enough she'll eat the food you have on hand.

Vanilla-Jackie--Aptly named, don't you think?

Bis, thank you for Christy Lane, she is one of my favorite singers.

Vanilla, and thank you for  George Hamilton, another favorite of mine. I think the song itself is beautiful…tells us so much.

I kept all my schedule for the day, and also went to our library and picked up three more books. Now I am in for the day, in comfortable clothes, have read a bit, and now here. To stay. I am pooped. It is already evening for most of you. I'm hoping to stay awake for another  four hours or so.

Janie, Goodnight my friend. Sleep well dear one.

I am ready to get to bed with my book also. Had a good supper of lunch left=overs. Salmon steak with green salad, and a slice of banana cream pie for dessert.

Listening to the RNC. Trumps son spoke so well. He could be a winner in politics in days to come. Very impressive.

May you all have a blessed night and a happy tomorrow. I send you Love, Hugs and many prayers. June

Unfortunately, we humans do not come equipped with delete buttons for our mouths.

My friend and his rock band were playing a concert at the local psychiatric hospital where he worked as a musical therapist.

The audience was a little too quiet for his taste, so the guitarist decided to do something about it. He grabbed the microphone, pointed to the group and yelled, "Are you ready to get a little crazy?"

Food For Thought

Stuffed With Junk
Ron Hutchcraft)

The other day one of our team members shared a discovery she made during the remodeling of her kitchen. The counter top had been removed, and as she looked into this little 6"x8" drawer by the sink, she saw that it was completely stuffed - with "stuff"! She realized that for 24 years she had been sticking things into that drawer - twist ties, rubber bands ... you know, everything. There were some useful things in the back, but there were inaccessible because of all the "stuff." Now, it had been a long time since the drawer had been opened very much - our friend just crammed things into it and occasionally pulled it open an inch or two to use something out of it. But looking down on it all from above, she was surprised to see what was in there. Almost everything in that drawer could be thrown away - but it was accumulating for years. And that drawer was much more useful now that it was emptied out.

I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "Stuffed With Junk."

You've got to wonder what God sees when He looks down on the contents of our life. The "top" is always off as far as His view of us is concerned. He sees directly into our heart, our motives, our every thought. And all too often, our life and our heart are cluttered with "stuff" ... things we've filled our life with that are simply unnecessary to Him, useless to Him - actually limiting our usefulness to Him.

Some of us won't realize how useless a lot of our life has been until it's too late to do anything about it - we'll wait until the Judgment Seat of Christ. Paul talks about it in 1 Corinthians 3, beginning with verse 11, our word for today from the Word of God. He says, "No one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones (that's filling your life with things that will last, that have eternal significance), wood, hay, or straw (things that are just "stuff"), his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light ... the fire will test the quality of each man's work. If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames." You get one life. You can fill it with things that really matter or with things that really don't. With things that will last forever or things that will be gone in a moment. And often what this world stresses as being important is really just "stuff" - and what Jesus says is important, our world thinks isn't much.

So when the Lord looks down inside your life, is it crammed with a lot of "stuff" that just doesn't mean much? A lot of time in front of a television, hours on the Internet, listening to music, talking on the phone, following sports, pouring yourself into causes and diversions that won't matter much in eternity at all? It's not that these things are necessarily bad. The problem is when "stuff" that should be peripheral becomes central in your life. That's when it's time to reevaluate your priorities. It's time to see your life through God's eyes, and clean out what's not useful - the trivial pursuits.

When you do, you become so much more useful to your Lord. And the more you fall in love with Him, the less you'll be stuffing your hours, your days, your mind and your heart with "stuff." You'll be about what Jesus is about. You'll be "seeking first the Kingdom of God." (Matthew 6:33)

Good Morning Everyfriend!  Joanie, I'm not sure that I like thinking that most of my life is "useless".  However, I do understand the kitchen "junk drawer".  I think everyone has one of those.

We've been having good sleeping weather the last few nights.  This morning it's still only 64 out there.  Of course the high is predicted to be 91 but not until about 3 this afternoon.  This morning will stay in the 70s.  Very unusual temps for this time of year.

I took the finished curtains over to Cathy's new house yesterday and I thought all that was left to do was the white ones for the bathroom but she found another set of the beige ones so I still have a total of 4 panels to finish.  I'm going to start them when I come home from work today and hopefully finish them tomorrow when I'm off work.

I hope Everyfriend has a lovely day today.  Stay cool!

Good morning everyone.

Starting off cool here 50° but will climb to the 90's. I will get my work done early ,then go sew.

Last evening I was talking to a friend that said a lot of wells in her area are going dry, everyone is gingerly using their water in hopes of rain to bring them back up. Water is so precious!!

Larry, that would be such a special gift for your wife!!

Jane, have a great day at work.

Gloria, I just listened to a loon flying over..love the sound!

Joan, thank you for breakfast.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Good Thursday morning Everyfriends....

Well our temps are down but R said it was pretty hot out there when out walking the dogs, he says there's not so much breeze as yesterday...

I haven't been outside the front for three days, I am now waiting in for my Goldhill organics delivery....

Got my MS Consultants written report this morning, its only taken three weeks to arrive... ::)

As usual the recommendations of a choice of two antidepressants,.... antidepressant for neuropathic pain, well that might help....of which I have looked up both...and both say do not take if you have any bleeding problems....hellooo, I have a year long urinary bladder bleed...

Even that Consultant got wrong, called it rectal bleeds.... I have now had to send an email to MS Specialist Nurse so she can pass on to him to get this rectified on his notes...

The medication choices are a trial of Venlafaxine or Duloxetine at a low dose would be safer, it states....Hm pop a pill and all my problems will just disappear into nowhere...how neat is life...it has an answer for everything...If only...

Joan, hm bacon, I am here...

JoanFL

Good morning, Janie.  Your night time temps are great--your daytime not much different than ours.  You certainly have shortened lots of curtains for your daughter.

Amy--Good morning.  That's a big temperature deviation for the day--from 50° to the 90s.  If we had those temps I'd have to turn the furnace on in the morning and later switch to a/c.  We are VERY dry here, too.  Even with the sprinkler system the grass is looking a bit brown.

Good morning Vanilla-Jackie.  It seems the written report you received had errors.  Who actually prescribes the meds you need?  I knew the smell of bacon would bring you running. :)

Good Morning Everyone!
Trying to get organized so I can get myself to men's bible study and breakfast.
We are having our study at a different church this morning, think they are working on ours.  This church has a coffee shop so guess I will order breakfast there.  Even has a gift shop in it.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Joan, a written letter comes to me and a duplicate one is sent to my local GP....it will be down to my GP whether she goes with his recommendations...or of course I can refuse to go the on the prescribed medication...

Hi everyone on an overcast but warm Thursday morning here in South Carolina.  The outside work of watering the plants is done for today and the trash is at the street along with the bush trimming from the two bushes we have in our back yard.

Today will be my normal Thursday schedule with coffee and the Wisdom class this morning and then a quiet afternoon and evening.

We had an enjoyable evening with Scott and Pat made a delicious dinner including a great dish of mac and cheese.  We gave most of the left over to Scott and he really liked it.  He enjoys his mother's cooking but he is also a good cook.  He moved my outside weather sensor to the front porch so hope to get a more accurate reading.  He also trimmed the other bush that needed trimming.  I did the other one last week but decided it was just too much for me anymore.

Hal, I heard back from my friend regarding the Featherweight sewing machine and he wasn't certain what they might have and needs to check with his wife.  This week she is on a church mission trip to Honduras. I agree with you that it is relationships and not things that bring the true joy (and sometimes sadness) into our lives and enriches us.

Jackie, I liked your explanation of how politics works.

Good morning everyone, been taking advantage of the good weather the last couple of days spending most of my time outside. Today will be more of the same but tomorrow will be hot and humid again. Saturday will be worse so I will pass on going to my great grandson's birthday party. I don't do crowded places anymore and with both families there will be a crowd. Too hot to have it outside. Tomorrow going into the 90's. Back to the AC again.
