Good Morning Everyone from the wet and warmer, rocky coast of Maine.

All is well here.

This Saturday we turn the clocks a head:
"Spring a head,
Fall behind"

I am looking forward to that again..  the nice long
Spring, Summer, Fall Days are a head of us.
I do like all that natural light.

Have a good day Everyone.
Joan,  I sure hope that you are beginning to feel better.

Good morning everyone.
Well it is still cloudy and murky, but. Dry.  Just a possibility of rain.

Lloyd, happy the lady of the house is back safely.  Know she enjoyed the trip, but happy to be back home.

Larry, wow, it is good that your foot guy has things under control.  Loosing toenails is not good.  I wish our church had social activities such as yours.  It would be vice to h ave meal with our friends.

Joanie, thinking of you  and praying you are improving.  I know you are tired of feeling bad.

Amy, do you ever slow down.  You must be the original energizer bunny.. just keep on going.

Good morning from a cold, blue Interior! It is minus 40 according to my balcony at 7:37 AM. I have been up since four as my body is still working out its days and nights.

I may have created another cat person. I have a friend who often stops by to visit with her husband. That is, we would visit while he played with Sarah and now with Farrah. He claims she, Farrah, cheats because when he rolls the ball around the cylinder, Farrah puts her paw in to stop it before she rolls it back. Dora told him, "You're playing games with a cat and telling us she cheats?" He replied, "She's sneaky."

Anyway, yesterday I called to wish her a happy birthday and she had this to say. Alan had bought her a small black cat for HER birthday and solemnly told her the kitten's name was Duchess!  ;D

Good morning, EVERYFRIEND.

Thank you, JOAN, for your offerings this fine day. I certainly hope and prayer that you continue to feel better each day. We all look forward to a post from you, telling us you are feeling better!  Hugs❣️

Smiling at the thought of you seeing Scott and Jennifer tonight.

Doodle is such a good boy and delightful to be with.  What a treat for us.  His parents are having a wonderful time in Sydney and there time is passing much too quickly.

HAL, same weather here in Austin.  It was crazy yesterday when our temperature dropped over 10* in 15 minutes!  The biggest black cloud appeared and I thought sure we were in for a down pour....Bob was out walking Oliver....and it blew away as fast as it came without a drop of moisture!

I think we are going to head into the city today and look around.  SXSW (south by southwest) starts Friday and going anywhere near that is a no-no!

LLOYD, happy to read Nancy is home after a fun time for her.

GLORIA, my personal opinion is you are not missing that much by not having Starbucks.....over priced coffee and they are EVERYWHERE!  Some can even be practically across the street from another!  Mind you, there is ALWAYS a line in the drive through no matter what time of the day!  Hard to believe there are that many with extra bucks to support this bad habit.

AMY, enjoy the new glasses.

JANE, don't find too many things to do today or you will be worn out before it is time to head to work!

Have a great day.

Just saw this post in Face Book and wanted to share.

Update on Mom (Joan Lavelle) - Hello family and friends, Mom caught a cold in the last week and has had trouble shaking it.  So she went to the ER this morning to get the help she needed to get on the mend.  She and the doctor decided that it would be best to admit her for a day or two for the extra attention that she will get there.  She is at Viera Hospital if you want to call her later today.  Please wait until late this afternoon as she is catching up on sleep.  Linda is headed down tonight to help.

We expect that it will be a short stay at the hospital...

It sounds very hopeful.  I'm glad she's where she can be taken care of.  We'll just look after ourselves and pray for her...OK?

Good afternoon, sunny and no wind.

I am so happy to read that Joan is being taken care of.  I wish she had gone sooner, but she is now getting the help she needs.  I know when we live alone, put things off, saying I will feel better to morrow.

MaryAnn, I had my hair cut also this week, but the lady comes to me now.  she only charges $15.  cheaper then I was paying upstreet.

Gloria, When I go to Target's they have a Starbucks and I get a coffee mocha hot in the winter and cold in the summer.

Jane, I'm warn out to day,  as I went to Walmart yesterday, first time since last April. I only walked around part of the store, got some Easter things for the door, got some pharmacy and walked up and down all the food aisles . I manage to spend quite a few $'s  the I had to go to the bank, which is in Stop and shop, so I did a little more food shopping. Now I hope I am in for the week, except for Homemakers on Friday, if it dose not snow.

Again prays out going Joans way. Hug to all.

Glad to hear Joanie is where she can have someone looking out for her.  Hopefully she will be back home soon and in fighting shape.

I am tired myself.  Went down to the mall yesterday to get a new pair of dress shoes.  Of course the shoe department is all the way in the back of the store.  And it takes me for ever to walk anywhere, anymore.  Any how I was ready for an early bed last night.  Boy dress shoes are really expensive anymore, but it more than likely will be the last ones I buy.

Amy

Thank you for letting us know about Joan, prayers for a speedy recovery . I am glad she is in a place where they will really keep an eye on her.

Hal, bet your glad your not a centipede and needing shoes... :2funny:

Jenny, thanks for the message about Joan.  She has enough health problems without making them worse by not going to the hospital where she will get adequate help.

Today is a very windy day for us and I understand at least 23,000 people in our county are without power.  Tom, Terry and I lunched at Applebee's and on the way signal lights were out for several blocks between Five Mile and Four Mile Roads.  Lake Michigan has been beautiful with dark blue water and whitecaps, plus large white puffy clouds.  Almost 200,000 people in Michigan are without power.

Just got back from my son's Bible Study program at our Chapel. He sure is popular...a natural in speaking and entertaining. We always start out with him playing the guitar and leading in singing.

Also started a new medication in hopes it will give my body what it needs. It is called Ure-Na. It is 13 grams of Urea...natural lemon lime flavor. A powder mixed with water and it tastes awful. It is something new on the market and is supposed to help the lack of sodium in my blood count. I purchased a two week supply for sixty dollars..just to test it out. Then there will be another blood test to see if it helps. I am begining to feel I have out-lived my usefulness, but that is in God's hands.

I hope and pray that Bis will be quickly improved in what she needs to keep her going. She is such an asset in our daily lives..not so much as what she does for us, which is wonderful, but mostly for what she is......our beloved friend.

Hal, I am feeling sorry for your decline in health too. It seems like it all came on so quickly. What is causing you to have trouble walking ? Pain, balance....what. ?I have both problems, but I am a lot older that you, so it is to be expected. Seems like you declined suddenly in the past three or four months. What's going on buddy ?

Lloyd, I feel you joy at having your sweetheart home with you again. CHEERS !!!

Gloria and Angelface...It seems these places where we live do go down hill after many of the residents decline with age and or health. We must have enough youth to be able to carry on or start new programs of interest or entertainment. We have the facilities, but need the volunteers. I recall how very active Iwas where I lived before, but 10 years of aging makes a difference. I just have no gumption left to lead things. I still stir up conversations at lunch time though...on lady has said she can't remember my name so she calls me sunshine. I feel very complimented.

Speaking of lunch time....it is...so I will gather myself together and get downstairs to stir things up if possible.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Well our Joan has been trying to avoid hospital, but seems hospital is the place to put her right again..

June, just old age or laziness, not sure which.....   ;)

My back is my biggest problem, but I see the pain doctor on Friday and see what he has to say, maybe, like I said before, he has some kind of magic elixir that will will cure all. And June you certainly haven't outlived your usefullness, you are very useful to all of us, we look forward to hearing your daily "doings" and thoughts on different things.  And believe it or not, but we learn from you and each other how to live our lives.

My back problem leads to other problems since I am no longer very active, sit on my butt most of the time.  My balance has suffered as you know and leg muscles have lost their tone.  Hard to believe I used to walk 3-5 miles a day, mow my yard and then go walk 18 holes of golf and was well into my 70's.  Oh, well, such is life in the fast lane.  (used to have a little scotch and branch after 18 holes).  But been a long time since I have had an adult beverage.

JaneS

I finished what I had set for myself to do today and JUNE it wasn't enough to tire me out for my shift tonight.  Mostly it was phone calls and a visit to an Insurance agent.  My life these past few weeks seems to be revolving around insurance...and it's not over yet.  I've managed to cut my car insurance by $30.00 a month and that's pretty good.  But my medigap is out of sight and just went up again.

We can't seem to live WITH insurance and we certainly are tempting fate to try to get by without it.

I've got to go pretty soon and get on my working duds and scare up some supper before I go.  Enjoy your evening everyone

JOANIE, if you look in, we're all glad you're taking care of YOU!

June and Hal, I think I've had more health problems since I turned 80 than I had in the previous 80 years.  I can't walk far, across the road to the mailbox and back is about "it"; I can't stand for long, often people tell me how good I look but they can't see inside.  If I don't move much, I don't hurt, therefore I sit a lot.

I think for my age, I'm probably in pretty good shape and I'm thankful I'm still here to know about those babies that have just joined our family.  I doubt I'll be around long enough for them to remember me, but I want to get to know them.

We just do what we can and what we want to do.  I feel sorry for younger people who have worse problems than I do.

Mary Ann

halkel

MaryAnn, yesterday I stopped to rest and there was a mom with here daughter also resting.  The girl was about 13 I would guess and very crippled and lots of difficulty walking.  I told the wife what a shame, so young.

Mary Ann

Hal, I know - there are so many people with much worse problems than I have so I try to say nothing.  I hate having A-fib and I'm still breathing, sort of, and others do have it much worse.

We just keep on keeping on, don't we?

Hall I can truly sympathize with you and your back. several years ago I had accident that crushed the cartilage out form between L4 and L5. , they cut a notch in the spine joint for the nerve cords to lay in. I crawled in to the hospital on my hands and knees literary crying like a baby. ten days Later I walked out on my own two feet. still have some pain in the lower Back some days worse than others, but mined over Matter for the most part dose the trick. I know you know Nancy says I am a accident Looking for a place to happen. Have a grate rest of the day and good night.

I'm home and trying to relax so I can go to sleep.  Something pretty neat happened tonight.  A cute little Asian girl asked me if I'd mind telling her how old I am.  I said that I'll be 82 next month.  She said "I'd never have thought that!  You are beautiful woman with a sweet smile."  She then said that her mother is 83 "but not so good as you".  I thanked her sincerely and then I hugged her.  What a nice thing to say to an old lady!

Now I'm going to check the rest of my email and go to sleep.  I'm a tired old lady, too.  Good night Everyfriend and may God bless us, every one!

Jane, I have a big smile on my face, thinking of the nice compliment you received from the little Asian girl. Once in a while great things like that happen to us, and it really makes a difference doesn't it ? God Bless her, and YOU too !

It has been a slow afternoon for me....again....what I don't get done in the morning it seems it doesn't get done. I have been dozing and reading the afternoon and evening away.

I hope and pray our Bis gets better each day, and I am so glad she is where she is getting proper care. If anyone hears anymore on Facebook, please share with us who do not go there. I so appreciate any news we can have.

Nothing else happening here, so it is time to say Goodnight, God Bless, and lots of Hugs, Love and Prayers. June

Good morning everyone..

Windy and cold here this morning 15 ° F at the moment.
Nothing planned for the day so far. I am going to give our vet a call and ask a few questions, may have to take a run up ,we will see.
Need to tidy up my sewing room before I start another quilt...gremlins must have been playing in there.

Janie ,that was so sweet of her to say that and a hug sure was in order for her! The other day I was shopping and didn't notice a sign at the check out that said seniors day 15% off I asked the girl about it and she said ,you don't look like a senior!!! I could have hugged her too.

Joanie, I sure hope they are being good to you and treating you as the special lady you are. We miss you but understand you need to take care of yourself FIRST please.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  And a special GOOD MORNING TO OUR OWN SPECIAL JOANIE!  Feel better and better as today passes.

I guess we're on our own today!  Let's make it a good one.  I have no plans except to mix and match so stuff that's in the fridge to use it up.  All I need is a can of something wet to add to it and I have to see what the cupboard holds.  I'll be having my dad's "Meal in a Dish" for supper.

Have a great day, Everyfriend!

Forgot to say...after yesterday's sunshine and moderate temps, snow is predicted for tonight!  Unbelievable!

Congratulations, Amy and may I say...You don't act like a lot of Seniors do, either....me included.  I could never keep up with you!

Gloria

Good morning everyone nice one here today. Tomorrow is not going to be. The white stuff is in the forecast for tomorrow and for next week even more mid week. Mother nature gave us a pretty mild winter but March is going to be mean and give us more white cold days. Have an appointment tomorrow that I will cancel. Looks like the next state to me. Mass. Goofed. They did the bank deposit of tas refunds and then withdrew it. Some folks now have overdrawn charges on their accounts. Might be fixed today. They claim it was a glitch. Human or machine? I wonder.

HAL  I think we all would like a church like the one Larry goes to.

PATRICIA  like your tale about your friend's husband and Farrah. I hope she enjoys Duchess and he does, too.

JENNY  I seldom stop for coffee when I am out and I would be desperate for a cup of it to stand in line for it. Here it is DD's that are all over. There are 2 in this town. Thank you for the news about Joan. My grandson put Face Book but I never bother with it. I pray she is home feeling much better soon. Her health is the most important thing we all want and pray for.

JANE you are so right. I know we all miss her but her well being it the most important to all of us.

GLORIA de  I have not been to a Target in more than 2 years and the same for WalMart. That was in only a small section in the new one as it is so huge.

HAL  last time I bought dress shoes was for my grandson's wedding 4 years ago, They are SAS shoes and made in San Antonio. Most comfortable shoes I ever had. Made in the US and not imported.

MARY ANN  terrible time of year to be without power.

JUNE  hope the new med helps you. I agree with you, Joan is our much loved Friend. Last week end 3 times the rescue was here and took people to the hospital. 2 were heart attacks, one was to have heart surgery yesterday and the other was a mild one. The one for surgery in the youngest one here, still in her late 60's.

HAL  my back is my problem, too. Since I have been seeong the pain doctor it is not as painful as it was but I still have to use the rollator and that stops me from doing a lot of things. Like you I sit too much.

JANE  from what I saw on the news last night the new health plan from DC will be worse than Obamacare. Good heavens how are we seniors on fixed incomes supposed to pay for so many things and still have a roof over our heads and food to eat.

MARY ANN  I think there is something about hitting 80 that our bodies start giving us problems.

JANE  that little girl must have seen into your loving heart.

AMY  windy here, too, but in the low 40's so not bad. I dread tomorrow though. As much as I always loved snow this year I dislike it.

JANE  you and my daughter are alike. She can make a meal out of this and that and it id=s always good. Something I have never been good at. Now cooking anything is more like a major job. We are in for that snow starting after midnight. More mid week next week.

JOAN  if you get to check in, prayers for you and please stay as long as needed. We all miss you but want you feeling much better.

I'm thinking of Joan this morning and praying that she is comfortable and improving so she can come home soon.

Beautiful week here, so far.  My younger son and older grandson came down for a couple of days earlier this week.  It was so nice to see them and just talk, talk, talk for a little while.

"They" are saying snow here on Sat. night or Sun.  Perhaps up to 2 inches.  I must make sure the pantry and fridge are up to dealing with it so I'm off to the grocery store today.

It is a beautiful but cooler morning but will warm up throughout the day into the 70's again this afternoon.  I will pick up my friend and we will go to coffee.  I had expected to have the Wisdom group after coffee at the Church but the minister has been called to attend another meeting so that has been cancelled.  I have no particular chores on the agenda for today so expect to have a very restful day.  We should get our car back from our son later this afternoon if they get his car repair finished.  Pat enjoyed her Gifts craft group yesterday but came home exhausted.  We had a nice meal at Church last night and a short visit with Scott and Jennifer.

Jenny, it sounds like you and Bob are having a nice vacation dog sitting.  Time goes by so quickly that it probably won't be long until you are back in Colorado.  I am one who has never had Starbucks coffee for two reasons.  The first is I think the prices are way too high and second I don't really like coffee. It is obvious that many people don't share my views as they certainly have the business. I have had and do like their muffins although someone else has purchased them.  They are rally big.  Thanks for the update on Joan.  It sounds like she is where she needs to be at the moment and hopefully she won't have to stay in the hospital long.

Hal, I understand what you mean about walking.  Yesterday when I went to pick up Pat after I had finished at coffee, but before she had phoned saying she was ready, I decided I would wait in the Church library.  I parked at the back of the Church where I would pick her up but needed to go to the front of the Administration Building and it is up an incline.  I started to walk up there but got the immediate pain in my arm so went back to the car and drove up to the front of the building.

Amy, those would be very tiny shoes for the centipede!  :)

Gloria, a group from our previous church attended a Wednesday morning Bible study and following it most of us went across the street to the Dunkin' Donuts for an hour of socialization.  They have good pastries as well (but don't ask how I know that).

June, is this Ure-Na an over the counter item?  You certainly have not outlived your usefulness.  You are always a bright ray of sunshine, as the lady calls you, here when you post. Hal, I certainly agree with your comments on June.

JaneS, medical costs continue to rise every year with no change in sight.  Glad you were able to save on your car insurance.

Lloyd, I think you have had more than your share of accidents. My best friend, who is suffering with Parkinson's Disease, has been falling a lot and a few days ago he fell trying to get out of his wheelchair at bedtime and broke the ball in his hip.  He had surgery to replace it and I hope is now in rehab.  It has been a couple of days since I last spoke to him but hope he still isn't in the hospital.

CallieOK

Good Morning,

I was hoping to have news of Joan this morning.  Surely hope she's feeling better.

It's another  :dogrunning: day for me - hopefully, the last one this week.  Everything has been sociable and pleasant but I'm ready for some  :study: and  time.

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.
