Sorry, JACKIE, just another thing to bring down your spirits!  I hope you can find someone that can do the grooming this coming week.  Poor Toby, he is used to looking a bit shabby!  He will be fine.  You just hang in there and try to not let this get to you too much.  I guess that is as close to an admittance to his behavior that you can expect out of R?

MARYANN, nice to read that you and Dot got to your normal Sunday routine.  At least we are not to have snow here, however they are in the mountains.  My dad had to have an X-ray done on his knee due to it not working well.....he hopes for an answer soon and refuses to take the steroids they prescribed until he knows what the problem is!  I do hope your problem resolves, especially, when they didn't see what the problem might be.

Oh no, snow in London as well today, DON.

JOAN, I see Linda will be having a home in Fairhope as well, huh?  If they are looking there at least you know they will be around some.

Must get back to packing...well, not packing yet, more just making decisions as to hat to take.  It does not appear that we will need much in light weight stuff....more warmer things.

BBL,
Jenny

Bis, God Does, was very needful today. I woke feeling good, but as the morning wore on I just went blah…feel dizzy, weak, not sick…just drained. So, I am staying home from Church and just laying low, relying on God. The writing is something to hang on to. As does the thought of the Day. Both fit right in.

Lloyd, I pray you will improve by just taking it easy for the day. God Bless you.

Vanilla, I'm sorry that R. lost his temper. He may be under a strain too, getting accustomed to the new house and area, and your serious illness. It is hard to forgive, but essential for joy in your life. Does he have a health problem perchance ?

Hal, you did get to Church, because you thought it was especially needful. I know God smiled at you.

It is still overcast here in Stanton, 71 degrees for our high of the day, and the sun will peek out around noon time.

Bis, I hope your daughter will find something nearby your home. I find close family is very rewarding the older I get.

Time to go lay down again. Back later.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

I'm wondering if I shouldn't have read all the posts of snow and rain  :smiley6600:...now our bright sunshiny day has gone away and we are in the midst of a steady, damping rain.

Linda and Ed continue to come and go.  Folks always remark about how neat and tidy my garage is.  Well, those folks should see it now.  I told them they had one month to find a place and get it out of there or out to the curb it goes.

Good after noon, We are have light rain, very chilly, I have the heat on, 35 mile gust of wind.  I cannot believe I got the fans out, it was so warm in the middle of the week

I am just marking my spot, very tired.  A friend ask me , would I like to go to Walmart, this morning, of course I said yes.  Never again, I stood in the fast check out a half hour, I have never seen such rude people, i said excuse me serveal times, and I got a dirty look The parking lot people were the same, cuttng people off, to get a space. My friend was able to get me a shopping cart, or I could not shop, but the standing has got me all worn out, as I cannot stand too long. I felt light headed.  glad to get home.

Thansk Joan and Phyllis for your contribtions.

Its my bedtime well it is tonight, having a slightly earlier night 10pm as I ve been on the computer talking to myself, and keeping myself company since I come home, apart from feeding the dogs........I shall be reading some more snippets from Pam Ayres, my tonight bedroom reading....Hey ho, tomorrows Monday the starting of a fresh new week...Starting the morning off with a Benji trip to the vets, he will be having a top - up booster, this is something new to be added to his original annual booster he had 3 weeks ago, then to book him in for his teeth and gum cleaning, told he has an infected gum....of course dog teeth cleaning isn't covered by pet Insurance.....

Our snow did not last long; by the time church was over, the snow was gone.

Joan, do you have room in your garage for your car?

I watched the Players golf tournament today.  It gets exciting when several golfers have close scores.  Often there has to be a playoff, but not today.  Jason Day won, but it was not easy for him.

Mary Ann

Gloria

PATRICIA  we have not hit 80 yet and not looking forward to it. Cold and windy here all day, wind is still howling.

HAL  I sure would not want another week of rain again. Last one was no kind to my back.

DON  welcome to May and warmer temperatures?

JOAN  wow you moved to Florida to be closer to family and now even Linda is moving to Al. Will she be near Joe?

KELLY  I guess I go that wrong I have Oie Vie as good morning/afternoon.

JACKIE  Toby is like a person who is over do for a haircut. I just had mine cut and the hairdresser did not do a very god job this time but it will grow out.

JENNY  taking warmer clothes mean a bigger suitcase?

JOAN  I can imagine how you feel having them store things at your nice neat home. I know my daughter is getting tired of the mess in her hose right now. Going through everything to either keep or get rid of. She has boxes stacked up in her living room. Food thing they seldom use that room.

GLORIA DE  Friday I wanted my AC in and today I wanted heat on. Very windy here still but no rain.

LLOYD  you continue to take it easy and do not do anything strenuous.

JOAN  hope you sleep well and feel rested when you wake in the morning.

MARY ANN  I don't want to see snow till Christmas Eve.

Good night everyone.

Good night Gloria and everyone else too. I think I will be going to an early bed. I have been home all day long, so I have nothing to share with you. I'm feeling more human tonight so hopefully tomorrow will be normal again.

It was good to hear from Janie and know the wedding was beautiful.

Bis, I'm sure you are feeling beat up tonight. The kids don't always realize we are not up to any activity, but I think mine are learning that "Ma" is disabled to a degree.

Have a good night my dear ones. Be well, and God willing we will meet again in the morning. Hugs, Love and prayers. June

Gloria, when fine fur grows around the eyes and almost covers them, is not a nice sight to see on a dog, his fur grows very quickly and is looking real heavy on him.....Finding a good groomer could be booked up for weeks, I cant let him go any longer, just not right....I would be add-up for neglect....

Good Monday morning Kelly and Lloyd Hammond, like me, you are both early birds.....Weather is dry and some signs of sun here in my part of UK....Had my breakfast, done some washing, followed by tumble drying, still sitting here in dressing gown at 8.45 am, although now going to get dressed and freshened up, as soon, we are taking our Benji for a top up booster at the vets.....

Lloyd you are doing the right thing, resting in your recliner, at least that way you are keeping out of harms way.....

CHUCKLES

Do You Remember?

Do you remember back when a lot of little churches built the john behind the pulpit? There was often an outside door as well as an inside door to access it.

In such a church in Rocky River, Ohio, (just west of Cleveland where I grew up) the pastor was waxing eloquent on Rev. 3:20. With great pathos he exclaimed that the Lord is standing at the door of your heart and crying, "Let Me in. Let Me in!"

He walked over to the aforementioned door just off the pulpit. He knocked on it and again reminded us that God was at our heart's door crying "Let Me in. Let Me in!" when back came the plaintive cry, "Just a minute."

Food For Thought

Not Overwhelmed
(Study by Chris Long)

"A man's steps are established by the Lord, and He takes pleasure in his way. Though he falls, he will not be overwhelmed, because the Lord holds his hand [or in some translations: the Lord supports with His hand]." Psalm 37:23-24 HCSB (parenthetical comment added)

In life it is easy to get discouraged. It's easy to feel like people, circumstances, and life in general are going to overwhelm us. Yet, here we have a promise direct from the Lord Himself, that though we may fall, we will not be overwhelmed. The picture that's painted by this passage of Scripture is even more poignant: God Himself says that He holds our hand [or supports us with His hand if you prefer]. Even when you stumble in your Christian walk, He says very clearly that He was holding your hand the whole time. What an incredible realization!

But wait, there's more - let's continue reading on in Psalm 37 as the Lord speaks some more through David:

"I have been young and now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteous abandoned or his children begging bread. He is always generous, always lending, and his children are a blessing. Turn away from what is evil and do what is good, and dwell there forever. For the Lord loves justice and will not abandon His faithful ones. They are kept safe forever, but the children of the wicked will be destroyed. The righteous will inherit the land and dwell in it permanently." Psalm 37:25-29 HCSB

Notice the word "righteous" in this passage. These are promises direct from the Lord for those that are "righteous". So, who's righteous? The Bible makes clear throughout Scripture and specifically in Psalm 14 (and repeated again by Paul in Romans 3) that as human beings in and of ourselves there are NONE righteous. Romans 3:22-24 sheds light on this whole righteousness thing where it says "...God's righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ, to all who believe...For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. They are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus".

So this tells us that these promises in Psalm 37 are for EVERY BELIEVER in Jesus Christ. God Himself declares through David that He will NOT abandon you, that He is holding your hand, that He establishes your steps, that He is generous to you, and that He will NOT allow you to be overwhelmed!

Now, in my own Christian life, I've certainly thought I was overwhelmed. The key is that I *thought* I was overwhelmed. I have been to the utter depths of despair, even despair of life itself. Yet, God promises in Isaiah 42:3 that "He will not break a bruised reed, and He will not put out a smoldering wick..." In other words, God doesn't come along when you're just barely smoldering with any light at all and blow out your light. That's not the heart of God - He wants to fan that little smoldering light into a huge flame! God has allowed me to go right to the "brink" of life many times, but He has NEVER let me go over. He has never let me truly be overwhelmed [or "utterly cast out" as some translations put it]. I have come to truly believe that God never gives us more at any given time then we can handle with Him (cross-reference see 1 Corinthians 10:13 which deals with temptation, but the principle is there)

Today, do you realize that your God is holding your hand and supporting you? Do you see that He has ordained your steps and takes pleasure in you walking in them? (i.e. He takes pleasure in YOU as His child!) That though you may stumble and fall, the Lord is right there with you to ensure that you will not be overwhelmed?

These are vitally important realizations as they show us the heart of our God. And on that day when we see Him face to face in eternity, we will truly be able to say: "Thank you Lord for guiding our steps and not allowing us to be overwhelmed with more then we could handle each day with You!"

Suggested Prayer: "Heavenly Father, thank You for Your word today. Thank You for loving me so much as Your child, Your RIGHTEOUS child through Jesus, that You are always with me; always supporting me with Your hand. Help me Lord to just believe your promise Lord that with each day in life You will never give me more then I can bear with You, who is right by my side. You are so faithful Lord and so good to me! Words cannot describe my thankfulness to you. Amen."

Got our Benji booked in for 2 weeks time, the Tuesday after our next Bank holiday weekend.....I have the printed out sheet laying down all the necessaries on the morning, 8.am we are to bring him in, no food after 7pm the day before but he can have water.....Vet done another quick check over this morning, asked a few questions, all seems well, he is eating well, exercising well.....On the morning vet will do a check over, re, blood test, check his heart before going ahead with anaesthetic, at his age, 13, it is always a risky business....and as long as he is happy, Benji will get a new set of teeth, well that's what it should feel like to him.....When we came out the vets we could see a vast amount of greenery to the back so, we walked up towards some wooden benches I spotted, and R let Benji off his lead to have a good run around and sniff.....It looked like a stunning view in the distance but I didn't venture to take a look, just sat on the bench as walking was a bit on the dodgy side this morning...but it was so peaceful sitting there all in peaceful silence.....

Good morning, Kelly.

Amy--Good morning.  Yesterday my daughter that lives in Central NY told me that they had a sprinkling of snow--very unusual for May.  I hope the frost didn't damage your plantings.

Good morning, Roley.

Vanilla-Jackie--Good morning/afternoon.  I hope all goes well when Benji goes back to the vet for a "new set of teeth".  It was nice you could spend some time on the bench observing the view while the dog had a run around.

Good morning, Lloyd.  I remember when Nora Massey used to post in SN.
