Hi everyone on a nice and cool but sunny morning.  Yesterday was delightful here and it appears that today will be the same. I have a fairly busy day planned as will attend a meeting at noon and probably stop at COSTCO for a couple of items on the way home.  This is evening is our final men's meeting at the Church until the fall.

Jackie, I agree with the others on verbal abuse.  He obviously knows that he can upset you.  While we have no control over other people we do have control of our own feelings and how long we let events control our feelings.  I feel my feeling and then let it go as don't care to give anyone else power over my feelings or ruin my day.

JaneS, good to hear from you and that the wedding was beautiful.

Jenny, it has been many years since I flew into Midway but I know it has to be a much less busy and a much smaller airport.

JaneS

Good morning Everyfriend!  I'm still on the iPad but  I wanted to say that I miss all of you! I'm still surrounded by lots of people. Some leave today and some tomorrow. We all got a chance to bid goodbye to the newly weds last night as they stopped on the way to the airport motel. They still look like they are on a cloud. After everyone is gone I'm going to have Cindy help me post some pictures. Then
N you cam
N all see my beautiful granddaughter.

Good morning, Larry.  You sure do have a busy day today.  My daughter and son-in-law fly almost every week--in and out of major airports.  They have CLEAR check in (cost is $75 for five years) and that alleviates waiting in those long lines.

Janie--Good Morning.  I miss you and will be looking forward to seeing photos of your beautiful granddaughter.

Larry Hanna, several years ago when Toby the pup was just a few months old..if I planned on going anywhere it depended more on whether Toby would be settled for a few hours or not, he was a real handful as a pup..I had to work around him not the other way.....On one strange occasion I had a kindof gut feeling to go over to Watford to my parents, and family graves...I had a strange feeling that I might bump into my daughter, just something was telling me to go....Toby had gotten settled, I knew he would be settled for a few hours so this was my chance...I asked R to take me, he said, I haven't made my cup of tea yet, an auto-cation took place where he got me so riled up with his coldness, his angry attitude, that I just couldn't go to my parents grave in the mood he had put me in....although he was still willing to take me but.....there was no way I was going to allow him to stand beside me at my parents grave...my parents would have turned in their graves....so the story goes, I didn't go to my parents grave on that day, took a good year to visit again...of course I needed R as I would have needed help in carrying tools, watering can, scissors and flowers and so forth, as it was quite a walk from carpark to grave......

Molly

Good Morning, JOAN:  Question, please:  Does the CLEAR check you referred to include International flights or just within the USA?  Mohamed is getting ready to give his final exams to several of his classes in the next week and has already called the Airlines to check on reservations for a quick (probably two weeks) trip to the USA.  Like thousands of other passengers World-Wide he has stood in line for several hours when flying to the USA from Egypt and it is so very, very tiring.

JoanFL

Vanilla-Jackie--It's too bad you didn't get to go to the graves when your "gut feeling" told you to go.

Molly--I honestly don't know about CLEAR check and international flights.  My daughter goes overseas on business three or four times a year.  I'll ask her next time I see/talk to her or perhaps you could "Google" and ask the question.

Good Morning everyone from a still, cool, cloudy and damp Interior. We've left that week of plus 80 behind and are to expect several days in the sixties with either light rain or partly sunny through the 24th.

Joan, I too laughed at the minister's "Let me in!"

I was frustrated with my PSP lessons yesterday and had friends stop by for a bit. So Farrah is back to being skittish and preferring the bedroom again. Ah well, two steps back as they say.

Lloyd, Nora lived in Anchorage and was just a small way past 400 miles and over the Alaska Range from me, an eight-hour drive. I did enjoy "talking" with her on SeniorNet however.

Now Karren and I lived close and used to get together before she moved to New Jersey to be close to her grandkids and to help her daughter. Its interesting that Bubble, living in Israel, introduced us!

halkel

Good Morning Everyone!

Rainy old drippy day here this morning.  Suppose to be this way for the rest of the week and possibly into next week.  No gripes thought from me, we will soon be back to no rain.  Joanie, hopefully some of this will move you way before heading on.

Janie, nice to seeing you posting this morning and I am looking forward to seeing the pictures of the wedding.  Did anyone comment on your shoes..... ;)
or did anyone even notice you had shoes.. :coolsmiley:.....just rattling your chain.

Once again a do nothing day here.  Wife has her bunco group here tonight so I will be confined to my bedroom/computer/tv.

Lloyd I do hope you get to feeling better soon.  I know as active as you are you much be climbing the wall and having discomfort along with it is gotta be the pits.

Everyone have a great day.

angelface--It is interesting that Bubble introduced you and Karen--God rest her soul.

halkel--They have said for weeks that we will get rain, but nothing so far.  There's two or three bunco groups at our clubhouse--sort of a fun, easy to play game.

Vanilla-Jackie--Thanks for the bunco link.

Merry Monday,

Kind of a dreary day in central Oklahoma.  Had some rain during the night and more expected later today.  My new flowers are loving it!

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere a lovely day.

Vanilla-Jackie

My leg felt better than when I went to the vets early this morning so, I have done 2 short downhill dog walks, Took Benji then an hour an or two later took a reluctant Toby...it is a beautiful warm, dry and sunny day today, it would have been crazy to have stayed in, plus I sat in the garden on the decking boulder, where the sun reaches so a half an hour soaking up the sun and its vitamin D which us MS'ers are told we need....

Lindancer

Good afternoon, another sunny, very windy day but cold. Another friend ask me to go to Home Depot to look at plants, but I said no thanks.  Yesterday was anough, after standing in line a half and hour in Walmart.  The line went back to the [pharmarcy. I will never go on Sunday if someone ask me again.

Joan, thanks for the apple fritter, I have not had one in a long time.

Gloria, I was glad I had not put my long sleeve night gown away also. I kept one out when I put my winter things in the cedar chest, a few weeks ago.

Jackie, when I was a kid we use to play bunco, they still play bunco at the club house.  Also when I was young, when there was a card party, if you did not play cards, there were tables set up for bunco players.

Gloria, last week when I mention Forever Amber, you said you saw the movie, I read the movie was toned down. It became a best seller in 1945, as ii was banned in Mass. and 13 other states, also banned in Australia.  Condemed by  the Cath Church. Now they say there was some honest English history in it.

Vanilla, no offense intended, but I am inclined to agree with Larry about not letting others disturb us to the extent of ruining our lives. We all had grave disappointments in our lives, but if you keep living those disappointments of past years , you are allowing that person to rule your life. "Allowing" is the key word here. I don't mean that you should get rid of that person. You need R. in your life, he is your helpmate in time of need.  Your attitude in retaining all past hurts is NOT helpful to you my dear friend. I think of my 62 years of marriage, and in being honest with myself, many of my unhappy remembrances were partly my own fault. Carrying a grudge,or "getting even" solves nothing. It only keeps us feeling miserable.  Looking at a person, really looking, and thinking of the good things about that person, lifts one up to find some happiness in day to day living. And forgiving past hurts, not wallowing in them, is healthful. I pray you will be able to do this…it will give you a feeling of freedom and thankfulness.

I am feeling much better today, thanks be to God. Again it is overcast, which I enjoy, with the sun sleeping till about noon. I'm really a rainy day person…there's a song about that.I should have been born in England, or better yet, Hawaii. But I chose Ca. so I will enjoy what I have, and be thankful.

I am having a grocery delivery today, and look forward to restocking my larder. There is a movie downstairs at one o'clock. I am go down for that. "Inside out" is the title. I'll look it up on the computer to make my decision for me.

Lloyd, I am so sorry that your healing is taking so long, but do be patient, and let God do His work in you. Sleep where ever you are most comfortable and get as much sleep as you can, it is very healing. God be with you.

Well, it is 10 a.m. so time for me to get the bed made, and get the body dressed for the day. See you all later. June

Lindancer, (Gloria de ) My late father taught me, and we used to play together, several games of cards ( Whist, Rummy, Pontoon, ) and also dominoes, no money ever changed hands, it was just for pure fun.....but Bunco is not one I am familiar with...

Callie--If it weren't for the sprinkler systems all the flowers in my community would be dead.

Vanilla-Jackie--GREAT you were able to take the dogs for a walk.

Linedancer--I don't "do" lines.  If there are more than two or three people I leave.

June--I ordered groceries yesterday at 10:30 a.m. and they were delivered at 11:30 a.m.--no charge for delivery.

JOAN  no my son had to work over the week end so the AC is waiting. Think people complained to manager today and the heat was turned back on. I turned the setting up and it finally warmed up in here. Really windy all day and it was whistling in this corner all day. Air is very dry so it will be cold again tonight. My AC has a heat setting on it so I would have used that f it was in.

JANE  so glad the wedding was beautiful and that you are enjoying yourself. It is always good to get away from hoe for a little while. That way you can enjoy your home again when you get home.

HAL  you can keep the rain there a little longer.  Right now I would so enjoy a few sunny 70° days to get out and enjoy it.

JACKIE  I like sitting on the porch in the sun at this time of year. Still cool enough to enjoy it. I sit with my back to the sun and the heat feels so good.

GLORIA de  one thing I learned years ago was to keep a few cold weather clothes in the closet. Never know when we will get a cold rainy day where we need something warm on. It was so many years ago I don't even remember what Forever Amber was about. I read the book too.

JUNE  you are right about holding a grudge. I had one for my ex for years till I realized I was only hurting myself. Forgiving took years but I will never forget.

JOAN  wow that was fast delivery on your grocery order and no charge either makes it even better. Since I got this tower back I don't seem to be enjoying it as much. Keep waiting for something else to go wrong with it.

PATRICIA  I never get back here during the day so did not know the sire was down.

MYCHEAL  I agree with your post.

I didn't get to see the movie because by the time I put my groceries away and did some re-arranging it was too late to go down.

Mycheal. I applaud you, and I agree.

Bis, I tried to post another message this afternoon, but the S.S. would not accept it. Kept telling me I waited to long to post, to try again. I tried two more times and got the same message back.Seems there are a lot of strange thing going on in the air-waves.

Lloyd, I had seen that cougar release before, those were very brave men, and I hope the cougar appreciated what they did.

I didn't see a post from Hal today. Hope all is well.

Time for me to close down and go to bed. Tomorrow will be a busy day. Three different programs I intend to enjoy.
Have a peaceful night my dear friends. I send you Love, Hugs, and Prayers. June.

Good evening, EVERYFRIEND.

I attempted to post a couple of times today, but a warning kept coming on telling me my time was up or something like that.

We are all packed and ready to go, and should be in bed as we need to be up to head to the airport by 4 AM.  Son Dave is taking us as he goes to work around that time to get his paperwork done before patients start to arrive. We are thankful for the ride.  Mark will be home from Mexico by the time we return and will pick us up.

Speaking of Mark..... He was packed and ready this morning, so decided to head out of Cabo, and now has a third of his Mexico drive under his belt.  He said the drive went very well and he really enjoyed the views.  He was checked into a very secure hotel and was looking forward to a nice rest.  I am so thankful that he is able to stay in safe places with Internet so he can check in.

Goodnight my dear friends.  I will be in touch when I can.

Pleasant dreams to all.

Micheal, believe you me I wish I could " WALK " away from my troubles, and I only have one in my life......

Well guess what, we have a bad flood in our Parkhome, Phyl our site manager is here with us now, he got called out 6.am, I phoned left message, R running downhill in his slippers and dressing gown to his office.....Phyl turned the water off then came back 7,10 ish, the bathroom and floorboards are flooded, of course R started the flood off again.....Phyl has pulled up the carpets... R just layed ontop of his bed in his underwear staring at the ceiling for the hour, he has done absolutley nothing, then lie his socks off in front of Phyl when I told him R was ontop of his bed, R quickly got off wrapped a bathrobe around him and swore blindly that he WASNT..... I have had the washing machine on, fed the dogs, washed up, gotten dressed, we are soon off to take Toby to the groomers, we have a 7 plus mile journey....

Edited, it is now 8.am Phyl has just this minute left, come with his plumbing toolkit, taken up the carpet, done some banging on the floorboards....carpet is also seeping damp in my bedroom, and hallway.....wouldnt have a cup of tea twice when I offered, R in the meantime has done absolutely NOTHING apart from standing at the bathroom door watching Phyl working...As for me, I havn't stopped.....had the washing machine on once, soaking bath towels, I used the lot......ready for another couple of loads when we get back, washed towells already in the dryer, done a spin in my seperate spin dryer first, gets more water out....Leaving for groomers very soon, fed the dogs, taken in my vegi box deliver, he comes 7.30am'ish......I did get myself an earlier cup of tea, havn't washed yet, just splashed hot water over my face.....no time for breakfast......got to reach that dog groomer.....

Best be careful as he could get in his angry mood....I will be on the other end.....

CHUCKLES

Dress Shop

A man walked into a dress shop and told the clerk he wanted to buy a surprise formal evening gown for his wife. "What size?" asked the clerk.

The man shrugged blankly. Trying to help, the clerk inquired "Well then, what are your wife's measurements?" The man thought for a moment. "Small, medium and large and in that order."

Food For Thought

The Strange People Without Shoes
(By Dr. Bill Bright, Founder and Chairman of Campus Crusade for Christ International)

The story is told of a man who traveled to a certain city on one cold morning. As he arrived at his hotel, he noticed that everyone there was barefooted, including all the clerks and guests. In the coffee shop, he noticed a well-dressed fellow at a nearby table and asked, "Why aren't you wearing shoes? Don't you know about shoes?"

"Of course, I know about shoes," the patron replied.

"Then why don't you wear them?" the visitor asked.

"Ah, that is the question," the patron returned. "Why don't I wear shoes?"

After breakfast, the visitor walked out of the hotel and into the snow. Again, every person he saw was barefooted. Curious, he asked a passerby, "Why doesn't anyone here wear shoes? Don't you know that they protect the feet from the cold?"

The passerby said, "Believe me, we all know about shoes. See that building? It's a shoe factory. We are so proud of the plant that we gather there every week to hear the man in charge tell us how wonderful shoes are."

"Then why don't you wear shoes?" the visitor persisted.

"Ah, that is the question," the passerby replied. "Why don't we wear shoes?"

When it comes to prayer, many Christians are like the strange people in that city. They know about prayer. They believe in prayer. They know how wonderful it is and what a blessing it can be. They frequently gather at the church to hear sermons about how wonderful prayer is. But if you ask them why they don't pray more, they would say, "Ah, that is the question. Why don't I pray more?"

Prayer is an indescribable privilege. As you know, it is very difficult to speak with the mayor of your city, the governor of your state, congressmen or President. What is amazing is that you can speak with the all-powerful, all-wise and all-loving Creator, God and Savior anytime, day or night, 24 hours a day -- no appointment needed!

In my study of God's Word and in my travels throughout the world, I have become absolutely convinced that wherever people really pray according to biblical principles, God works in their lives and through them in the lives of others in a special way.

Let us be praying Christians and not like those people without shoes!

Thought of the Day

“Many times I have been driven to prayer. When I was in Bible school I didn't know what to do with my life. I used to walk those streets in that little Florida town and pray, sometimes for hours at a time. In His timing, God answered those prayers and since then prayer has been an essential part of my life."

Back from the groomers....we got there 30 mins too early, I sat in the car, told R to let the dogs stretch there legs for a few mins.....I was convinced we had come to the wrong address, the street and her house looked real shabby, not the best first impressions for a dog grooming....but when we met her she was really nice, looked and dressed as a groomer, we were beckoned inside, she made a fuss of both Toby and Benji, R took Benji for the ride incase it frit him when plumber turns up, he isnt here yet, so going to make myself some breakfast.....One thing I learnt when working in the betting offices was " never judge a book by its cover, " re, her house.... " the proof is in the pudding, " re, how she grooms our Toby, and whether he comes away looking happy, and not frightened in getting away from her, that is more important...

Now to get that washing machine back on, got another 3 plus loads to do.....I'll leave R to take out to the bin all the stuff that Phyl has left inside the bath, but I know he wont do it, he will leave it sitting there, wood panels, nails and all....

Oh and the flood came from the pipe mid centre, behind the sink stand, it just gushed and gushed and spurted out all over the place, thank heavens for someone who had some Intelligence and common sense and was not afraid of work, hard graft..........

The parkhome window cleaners van is parked opposite, I booked to have ours done, so R has left me the money on the table to pay him.....while he is giving Benji another walk....

Joan, apologies, I will say good morning but...as you can tell, it sure hasn't started out that way....

Lloyd Hammond there is nothing worse than people insinuating I am a liar, ( and yes you have made me mad ) that is the one thing I am NOT, yes agree always two sides to a story, but I can assure you I do not tell lies....as for whether people believe that is purely their choices, I should have thought by now after 5 plus years posting on this forum people would know me by now....I went through this 2 plus years ago when R threatened to kill me, I dont lie or make up stories about something as serious as that....Most true friends, particulary one or two true friends stood by me through my terrible rough period, ie, losing Megan my dog to cancer, my half sister turning against me,who I had only met for the fist time 2 weeks previously..... then my half brother publicly posting a one-off on here to discredit me as " telling untruths " who had only been in Rs company for 2 hours or so....which all caused me to hit rock bottom, I couldn't have sunk any lower........Oh yes some had there doubts, I just turned a blind eye to it, to them.......but my true friends stayed loyal to me......In fact I am one of the straightest people you will ever find...I tell it like it is.....without I hope, offending....

As for rape or abuse, the only person at blame is the rapist or abuser, not the victim...
