Linedancer--You sure are a very busy lady.  So man are writing that they have rain, and we have had nary a drop in weeks.  By the weekend you are going to be ready for some rest.

Callie--I used to enjoy doing special labels, but haven't done that in years.  Glad all is well with your family and Christmas plans.

I want to thank you ALL for the wonderful and so appreciated Birthday wishes.  I have been on the telephone all morning with some wonderful calls.  None of us particularly care for the fact that we are getting OLD, but it sure is nice to be remembered!  BTW, I know most of you are much older, but it rather frightens me to be headed into the last year of my '60's!

I must get ready now to head out to lunch.....

Enjoy your day, EVERYFRIENDS.

The PB cup recipe is posted in What's For Dinner.  I don't know how to do a clicker for it but it's there for whoever wants to check it out.  I need to get bag to my dipping.  Today, you could say I'm a "real dip"!

Got back from my trip to MO about 2:30 this afternoon.... got to visit with my brother & wife & my sister & her husband.... probably last time to visit (except on phone) until spring.  My brother & wife go to FL first week of Jan and don't return until April.  Brother is having more tests run, they aren't sure what is causing his problems. I'd like to slap my sister silly..... she is 4-5 years older than I am and hardly any wrinkles.  She took after our Mother's side & I got Dad's wrinkles.  I'd like to think I got his brains but that's not the truth.  :crazy2:

Was super windy on the way home, steering wheel was set an an angle to keep on the highway.  Cats did fine on the way home but Tom got sick all the way between Kansas City & my little home town about 100 miles east, not nice at all.  They were pretty good at night, slept like babies. My kind of weather, cold!

Happy (belated) Birthday to our June & Jenny.... hope it was a wonderful day for each of you!

Mycheal, what a lovely Birthday greeting came from you. I thank you my friend. I feel quite honored. It was one of the nicest days of my life, with my family and friends present at lunch. Gary and Dori, and Dan and Nancy combined funds and gifted me with a  Huge bouquet of flowers. I haven't counted the variety yet, but there are many, and each one more beautiful than the last. It is so big I can turn the vase four times a day and get a different array. All in a lovely med. purple vase that will look beautiful in my East windows with the sun shining through.

As it has become a habit, it seems, after we ate and visited and said our good byes, I came home to plop down in the recliner, and sure enough, I slept the whole afternoon away. Can't get away with that tomorrow though as we have Choir practice at 1:30 then balance and mobility following.

And for me a New Year is beginning. I am hoping that God may give me a 93rd. number. Three has always been my favorite number for some reason, so it will be very interesting, day by day, to see what lies in the days and weeks and months ahead. Life is Good, and I love sharing it with all of you. Now sleep in Peace, wake with JOY in your hearts, and rejoice that our Good God is taking care of each and every one of us. I Love you.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

CUSTOMER: "The soup. Taste it."

WAITER: "I beg your pardon, Sir?"

CUSTOMER: "Taste it."

WAITER: "But, Sir, I can assure you that the soup is excellent."

CUSTOMER: "Taste it."

WAITER: "Sir, the soup was made this morning of the finest ingredients."

CUSTOMER: "Taste it!"

WAITER: exasperated, "All right, Sir, I'll taste it."

Then after a pause he said, "Where is the spoon?"

To which the customer replied triumphantly, "Ah ha!!"

Living Out Our Faith

By Sergei Sosedkin
Scripture Reading: Ephesians 2:1-10

We are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works.
Ephesians 2:10
Oxana, one of our listeners from Ukraine, confided to us about her struggles with boredom and lack of motivation in her daily walk with God. This young woman firmly professed her trust in Jesus Christ, but somehow she wasn’t excited about her faith. “I know that I’m already saved. What do I do next?” she asked us bluntly.
In our response we directed her to Ephesians 2:10, which describes believers as “God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works.” In this context “handiwork” can also be translated as “work of art.” We are unique and special ¬creations in God’s eyes.
Please note that doing good works does not earn us our salvation. We are saved totally by God’s grace. Rather, doing good is an exciting way to live out our faith and express our gratitude to God for his gift of grace and deliverance.
We challenged Oxana: “What can you do as God’s handiwork to show how thankful you are to the Lord for his salvation?” Later we learned that she got involved with work in a local orphanage.
The same challenge goes to you today. What good works do you see prepared for you by God? Maybe you can volunteer at your local church or food pantry. Maybe you can help an elderly neighbor. There are many people out there who are hungry for God’s love and our care.
Father, we praise you for making us your precious handiwork! Show us how to live out our faith by our actions as well as our words. Amen!

Thought of the Day

"How divinely full of glory and pleasure shall that hour be when all the millions of mankind that have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb shall meet together and stand around him with every tongue and every heart full of joy and praise. How astonishing will be the glory and the joy of that day when all the saints shall join together in one common song of gratitude and of love and of everlasting thankfulness to the Redeemer! With what unknown delight and inexpressible satisfaction shall all that are saved from the ruins of sin and hell address the Lamb that was slain and rejoice in his presence."

Good Morning Joanie and Everyfriend!  I'm up early because I'm going to go do what Phyllis calls "hunting and gathering".  I got my extra store-wide discount voucher for working Thanksgiving morning.  It needs to be used today or tomorrow and it covers everything in one trip through the checkouts.  So this is the day I stock my freezer and my shelves.  It might take me a while because I'm out of everything but I plan to get to the store before it gets busy.  I've been saving my money for this trip and it's going to be worth it.

The rain stopped and the temp right now is 46º and it's going to stay right around there all day.  What a way to come into December!

I hope you all have a lovely day!

Taking my van in to get new keys for it, thank goodness this is a recall and I get two new ones otherwise I would have to pay 400.00 EACH!!!

We did manage to get some shopping done, now to wrap it all. I am not making  any plans this Christmas as I don't know how the chemo will effect hubby.I think we shall lay low this year.

Janie, have fun hunting and gathering..

Joan, thank you for breakfast.

Enjoy your day everyone

Good morning, Janie.  I'm sure it feels good to be rewarded for your work with that discount voucher.  I hope the store isn't too crowded this early.

Amy--Good morning.  I never had to get new keys and your telling how much they cost makes me glad I didn't.  I am praying that the chemo isn't harsh on your husband.

Good Morning Everyone!

Getting ready to leave for bible study and breakfast.

Weather guessers tell us that this coming weekend is going to be wet all weekend, starting Friday evening.  Hope they are right.

Have a great day........

Good morning Joan, and all the other friends.

Joan, a really fancy breakfast this morning.  Eggs Benedict !   Wow !   Not sure if I have ever had those.  So, I will really enjoy this morning's breakfast.  Thanks for going to all that trouble to make them.  LOL

The sun is shining this morning after 2 days of mist, rain and wind.  Makes one feel so better when the sun is shining.

Yesterday, I had to put some things back that I had moved for the TV tech.  So, while I was doing that, I decided to go through all the papers and stuff and just get rid of some of it.  Still had all the information from my old computer.   Lots of wires and cables, which I don't know what they were for. So, that took a while. Then, I had so many catalogs and tied them up to put out in the recycle bin.  Plus shredded a whole bunch of old papers.

Not sure what I will get into today.  I do want to call a friend who I have not talked to for a while. Then, we will see what else I can get into.

Jane,  that is great that you can such a good reward for working on Thanksgiving morning.  Good that you can go before it gets too crowded.

Amy, I, too, am hoping that your husband's chemo treatments won't be too bad and he will tolerate them well.

Lloyd,  hope you will get the rain and not the snow.

Hope all will have a good Thursday, this first day of December.  Can hardly believe that this year is almost over.  Seems like it just flew by.

Hi everyone.  After a very gloomy day yesterday we have bright sunshine and a much cooler morning.  We expect to get only in the lower 60's this afternoon.  We did get another 1/2 inch of rain last evening.  Today is going to be a busy one as will soon leave to pick up my friend and take go to coffee, then take him home and then go back downtown to the church for the Wisdom group, which hasn't met for the last couple of weeks.  Then this evening is the special concert at the church that I want to attend.

I did get to have dinner with Scott and and he come out to the house shortly before time to go to dinner and went back with me.  He then drove home.  He had had a crown preparation at the dentist yesterday and was still numb.  He didn't stay very long last evening as it was raining hard and he was getting sleepy.

Thank you all for your postings.  I am not going to write any individual comments today as am running out of time.  However, I will be back tomorrow and make no promises about the length of my posting.  :)

phyllis

Jane, I'll be doing the weekly hunting/gathering today, too.  It is a bright sunny day after a gloomy, drizzly yesterday so it will be a nice one to "get out".  The walls are getting closer and closer.  I need to see if the rest of the world still exists.

I am a "belt and suspenders" kind of person when it comes to my finances, I guess.  I not only make sure my checkbook always agrees with the bank (I check that on-line every day) but I must also make sure the bank, my checkbook, AND Quicken all agree with each other.  It nags me to distraction if they don't.  My whole world stops until I find the discrepancy.  <sigh>

I'm running late so must stop here and get some breakfast and make a grocery list.  As Callie says......CUL8R....or something like that.

Good morning, halkel.  The weatherguessers keep telling us we will have rain, but none here.

Joy--Good morning.  Sounds like you got some cleaning up done yesterday.  I never make Eggs Benedict at home, but order them when I go out.

Good morning, Larry.  You're sure going to be a busy bee today.  No kitchen duty?

Phyllis--Good morning.  What will you cook after you "hunt and gather"?  Guess balancing the checkbook is another "whatever floats your boat".  I do check my balance on line periodically.

QuoteWhat will you cook after you "hunt and gather"?

I have no idea, Joan.  Whatever ticks my fancy when I see it in the store, I guess.  I don't cook any more than I have to in order to just to keep living these days.  Maybe a nice steak.  We haven't had one of those for awhile and they are quick and easy and since it is the first of the month...maybe I can afford them this week.   :o

JaneS

Well, I'm back from my "hunting and gathering" expedition.  I didn't get any steak, that's not in my budget EVER!  But I got chicken, a little bitty pork roast to go with the sauer kraut for New Year's Day and hamburger, hotdogs, fish and I passed on the ham.  Too big for me and too much money!  Also got some ground turkey to make turkey burgers.  Now I have to sort all that meat into usable size packages and get it in the freezer.  That's the afternoon chore.  Guess I won't get the coconut cups done today.  But this trip to the store is definitely worth it.  I not only get an extra discount, use coupons but I get a cash back on my card when I pay the bill.  I saved a bundle and I'm ready for the snows to come.

Lloyd, did you find your way to the recipe?

Larry, if you haven't been to the Wisdom class for a couple of weeks, are you getting dumber?  Or just a little less wise?

I'm going to scoot over to my daughter's house while my SIL is there to give him a TY for raking leaves.  And I have to see if the doodad I had made for my daughter for Christmas fits where it needs to go.

Enjoy your day.

Good morning everyone, soon to be noon. Should have mentioned yesterday that I was going to visit the vampire this morning. My son took me and then he took me out for breakfast. Yummy bacon and eggs and home made rye bread. He stayed and visited for a couple of hours, I enjoyed that. After 2 days of rain it is sunny and beautiful today, even have windows open a little.

JOAN  wish I had thought of the DD sandwich this morning

JOY  like you, there is one front loader and 3 top loader washers and 4 dryers. 30 minutes for washers and 60 for the dryers. Most times the clothes are dry in half an hour. Lot of wasted money there. If one put a load in with less than half an hour on it and the clothes are heavy they will have to insert the card again and it would be for a full hour. They used to be $1.50 but at the beginning of the year they went up to $1.75. Laundry in on the first floor. Only 52 apartments so pretty small as these places go.

CALLIE  for years when my 3 were young we had family over Christmas Eve. Then it was my family and some guests for Christmas dinner. Been a long time since I made a meal like that.

SHIRLEY  glad you made the trip and got home safe. Looks like your fur babies are getting used to traveling at last.

JOAN  now I could have enjoyed those Eddg Benedict earlier. Gut enjoyed the DD I had, of course another CC store that never makes the lemon ones. LOL with  the Soup.  Thank you for today's goodies.

Did not sleep much last night just knowing I had to be ready when my son came for me and now my eyes want to close. Think I will do just that, the couch is calling me.

Gloria--How nice that now your son is retired he's available to take you places--and even out to breakfast.  Sorry you didn't sleep well anticipating his picking you up.  Can't you set an alarm clock?  Hope you're now getting a nap.

Good Afternoon Everyone, from the warmish,  sunny rocky
coast of Maine.

Well,  I was successful yesterday
getting my self straight with the cable
company.

I successfully now have Great Internet and I kept the "local station" Starter Pack,  so
I can keep up with CBS, NBC and ABC,  shows...plus ION,  C Span and OWN...
(I am very satisfied with this)

In the past nine months I have now have
cut my cable, tv, internet  and phone bill from over $211 a month down to about $60  a month ...  mostly for internet service and taxes and cable modem cost....
I found out this morning that I can also
return the cable modem and just use my
ROKU in place of it.   (This will save another
few bucks monthly)

My total saving now for completing this
comes up to well over $1600 a year....

Which is an incredibly motivating..

I am very happy and now feel that the
months that I started to prepare for
this was worth actual task.

Phew... glad this is over.
Have a great day,  Everyone !!
