Good morning, halkel.  No rain in our forecast today or the whole week.  We do need it.  I'll have a cup of coffee with you.

Larry--Good morning.  GREAT that Pat was able to prepare her own breakfast.  What a fiasco you had getting Pat to her eye doctor appointment.  Bet you are glad your stuffy head didn't turn into a full blown cold.

Cathy's on her way to pick me up to go to the Amish store.  I love that place.

Hal, my dreams are not BAD, they're just weird.  For instance, my mother and my kids are the same age and sometimes so am I but sometimes I'm a teenager and my mother is as she was at that time.  My father and my grandmother are sometimes in them and they are the same as they were when I was a teenager and I can actually hear them talking sometimes.  It's nice to see them but weird how our ages do not correspond.  Sometimes there's a situation that I'd rather get out of but no matter how hard I try and who tries to help, nothing works.  They are not BAD situations.  I just want to move on.  I sometimes wonder what all this stuff means.

Gotta go grab my coat.  Cathy is never late!

Good morning everyone, I hated to get out of bed this morning. Knew I would not like it, it is a damp rainy day and boy did I know it as soon as I woke.

JOAN  I had a turkey /California mixed veggies last night. Very tasty and I could only eat half of it, will have the rest today. That is one I will order again. Real turkey, not the pressed junk they have in most TV dinners from the markets. With Schawns free delivery over $49.99. You can check online for all the different food they have. For me I am  more interested in the meals because it is so hard for me to really cook anything. I am anxious to try the coconut shrimp. Had my CNA open all the boxes to check them and I was surprised at how many are in the bag. I also have lasagna and that looks good, that will be another one I will get 2 meals from. Maybe I can start adding some of the weight I lost. Would love to get to at least 100 and out of the 80's. I was a teen last time I weighed that.

LARRY  I remember my FIL being put on a salt free diet and then being in the hospital where they gave him sodium IV. I think there is 11 meals but many other foods, too. I looked througn most of what they have last night and especially the desserts, especially the apple pie and the cheesecake. Lot of ice cream, too. I never had snow tires after I got a front drive car. 20 years of driving it in all weather and never a problem.

JENNY  really crazy weather all over. One week we broke a heat record and a week later we were freezing.

JUNE  like you I am not sloppy in my home and some days when my CNA is here there really is not much for her to do. Right now I am going through a big box of pictures and the ones I am getting rid of that have pictures of people she is shredding. If they are just scenes they get thrown away.  Now if she was a good cook I know what I would have her doing. She will read a recipe and then cook it but not following directions. 3 times I had to throw away tapioca pudding because she pays no attention. First time she set the timer to tell her it was done. Wrong, second time not cooked enough, third time she forgot to add the vanilla extract. No taste to that at all. I have been drinking Ensure about 4 years now but do not see where it has done anything for me. I tried Boost but did not like the taste.

HAL  I only hope that voters wake up to some of the things Hillary has done that she just brushes off.

JANE  one thing I have heard most of my life is -do not discuss politics or religion if you want to keep your friends. I have often been asked if I am a democrat or republican and I always say neither. This state is so democrat it might as well be a one party state.

JOY  I tear my name out of catalogs and shred them. I have been getting so many different ones from places I never heard of I do not even glance through them and my recycle sure adds up every week. I have talked to someone at Schwans about ordering as needed and time of delivery. First one was between 5 and 8. By that time of night I am not up to trying to fit things in the freezer. The delivery came at 7:55 but the man offfewred to put it in the freezer. Freezer is not that big but he did get every thing in. I told the person I talked to that I have seen their truck go by here in the afternoons so now will get deliveries between 2-5, much better. Was surprised that they even accept food stamps.  I do have the chicken pot pies but have not tried one yet. I am glad I did check them out online. Paper products and things that are bulky or heavy from the online delivery from the market I like. Other than that my CNA goes to the market for me. Fresh produce my son will get for me, he knows what I like and the market that has the best. He come here every week and he does not mind. If I have nothing for him to get he wants to know if I am sure because he will come anyway.

CAROL  my computer is not a year old and been back to the company twice for work. They even sent a tech here once. All we have to do is read past history to know that weather seems to go in cycles and repeats.

JOAN  oatmeal and blueberries for breakfast please. Great chuckles. Food for Thought is so true, another keeper and to share. Thank you for all today's goodies.

JANE  enjoy the time with your daughter.

AMY  with all you do it seems that your sewing is your relaxing time.

LLOYD  good morning.

HAL  if I dream I never remember any.

LARRY  grocery delivery is great for me because I cannot get out to the market anymore. Before I moved here I would make a list of what I wanted and my son would do the shopping for me. That is my younger son and he has always been the most helpful person I know. He has always been that way. My oldest son is still using a computer that was bought with XP on it.  His son was in college then and now keeps that computer working good for him.

Janie--Your dreams are strange.  Hope you find many good things to purchase at the Amish store.

Good morning, Gloria.  This next week I am going to try ordering from Schwan.  Like you, I need to gain weight.  If I could get to 100 lbs. I'd be happy.  I've been drinking two bottles of Extra Strength Ensure a day for about two years, and it doesn't seem to help.  I guess your CNA is NOT a cook.:)

My wife and I are looking at Schwans.  They have some good looking (pictures) of their meat and chicken pies.  But we couldn't figure out how big they were.  Will one of them feed two people?

I registered on their website and did a chat, but think chat person was in some faraway land.  Ironically she used the name "Hilary"..... ;D

Anyhow, any information you all can furnish about portion sizes would be appreciated.

Bis dear, Todays Food for Thought. I would like to have it imprinted in my brain. So very, very true and needed. Wars have been fought over "religions", and Jesus was left aside.

Janie, what a Blessing..spending time with your daughter. Enjoy every minute of your time together. Hugs.

Hal, I have had two cups already, I think that is enough for now. But thanks for the offer.

Larry, you need to invest in a Macintosh. Both my sons use them now. Sounds like you have a restful day coming up, so enjoy.

Gloria, that happened to me to, re: the salt. I still use it as I need it, I can feel a weakness if I need salt. It is the high blood pressure that keeps from having salt, and yet I was recently hospitalized for three days, receiving a Sodium through the veins. Weird.

Bis, I had dropped my weight to 106 pounds and the Ensure has me up to 111 pounds now…just one bottle a day.

Today I am going to visit a Karl Wong at the Care Center. I decided to start at the top of the list and work my way down . She gave me 10 different names. I skipped all of them yesterday…fell asleep and it was too late to go over when I woke up.10:30 is the best time to visit. Meds are handed out by then, and folks have been dressed and fed. Then or after 3 p.m. as they usually nap after lunch.

so…….Onward and Upward my friends…….
As long as we are here, let's dance.

We're back and the groceries are all put away.  My best bargain today was eggs for 69 cents a doz. and a bag of Kraft mini marshmallows for 25 cents.  I also got a freebie of cooking sauce.  I got one before and it's really good.  You just brown the meat and then pour in the sauce and simmer it.

We didn't go to lunch because Cathy isn't feeling well.  She's waiting for a call back from her dr and hoping to get meds so she doesn't have to make it through Sunday in pain.  She looked like she was suffering.  Not a good day to go to lunch. I told her we didn't have to shop but she insisted that she needed things, too.

June--Glad to hear the Ensure has helped you put on a few pounds.  I hope port visit at the Care Center today went well.

Janie--Wow, that was a bargain for eggs and mini marshmallows.  Freebie for cooking sauce is the best bargain.

I went to visit my friends at the Care facility. Karl was watching a program in the activities room, and I didn't want to invade that, so when I passed Maria's room I saw she was still in bed, so I decided to see her again. She was happy I stopped by, and we discussed how fortunate we are to live in such a caring place. She was having a pain in her hip area, so I didn't stay long. She is a Catholic lady, so I asked God to help her feel better, held her hand and went on my way. I'm feeling  sort of weary myself, so decided to have meals at home today, and just enjoy more free time.

Jane, I am happy you had time with your daughter even tho it was a short visit, you were together for a bit. You sure got some bargains where you shopped. Eggs are still high out here, but we don't have the good Amish people either..darn.

I have a bunch of email piling up, so I'd better go check it out. I had another of those dumb "congratulations, you have been chosen..." phone calls. I just hang up very quickly.

June--At least you visited Maria for a few minutes since Karl was predisposed.  I've received quite a few political phone calls.  I just hang up.

I met a young couple when I lived in Sunwest Village, and we struck a lasting friendship. Her Mother and I shared a Birthday date. He was a Forest Ranger and they take a long trip each year. This time it was Yellow Stone Park, and he sends me pictures. He is a wonderful photographer, so I am seeing parts of the U.S. through their eyes that I would never see otherwise. I feel very fortunate to call them friends.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Good evening......boy this day sure did pass quickly.

I made beef soup in the Crocker and it sure tasted good for dinner.  Cleaned up the crockpot and now have a cake cooking in it...  The easy kind...fruit, cake mix and butter.  It won't be ready for another hour and it it is really smelling good.

JANE, I want to Walmart today and my check out lady was YOU....a very sweet and caring lady.  Got ready to make the cake tonight and realized I am missing one of the cake mixes I bought.  It is on my receipt, so it made it through the line...it was only a $, so not that big of a deal but I wanted it!  😡

LARRY, it sure is good to read that Pat seems to be improving daily.  So happy for her.  Bob has been watching college football most of the day....

GLORIA, I guess that CNA is not that big of a help regarding cooking if she isn't going to make things correctly.  It would make me awfully sad to have to pour out tapioca pudding!

JUNE, glad you got to visit again with Maria even if only for a few minutes. Too bad Karl was busy.....he doesn't know what he missed!😘

Missing you, JACKIE.  WHERE ARE YOU?

Thank you for our goodies today, JOAN.

PLEASANT DREAMS TO ALL,  Jenny

First of all JENNY, the next time you go to WM take that receipt with you.  Go to Customer Service and tell them that it didn't get into your bag but you paid for it.  If they are like our store, they have a record of it and they'll tell you to go get another one and they will give it to you.  To save time, you might even just go back and pick it up and take it with you to Customer Service and then you don't have to wait twice.  We have a book and any item that's left needs to be written in the book.  We don't keep food at CS but we ALWAYS replace left items.

Good night Everyfriend!  Sleep well and May God Bless us, every one!
