Good morning everyone.

We had a heavy frost last night. Today is a take it as it comes day ,I do want to go and buy 4x8 sheets of corrugated plastic board, don't know the right name for it. This is cut into 8x12" pieces to wrap fabric around to store.

Jeanne Lee, I hope you feel better soon

Pat ,hope you also feel better and stay out of the hospital too!!

Hal,you will be looking for a cat nap today.

Jane, sounds like a busy time ahead for you!

Enjoy your day everyone..

Pat, it's good to see a post from you - long time, no see!  Thanks for the info about Jeanne Lee.  This year hasn't been kind to many of our people here.

Jane is so busy she doesn't have time to get sick.  Keep it up, Jane!  So is Shirley.  Hal, I hope you continue on the road to recovery.  Pneumonia is nothing to fool with.

Take a look at Lake Michigan, lots of whitecaps.

Good brr morning everyone. Well looks like weather is more like normal this morning. 27° so will need to have winter jacket on to go out today. Glad I got my winter clothes out last week-with the help of a CNA.Time for turtle necks and sweatshirts. Watching early local news and one reporter is out in the field and bundled and even has ear muffs on.

LLOYD  sorry you missed out on that motor home but as they say, must have happened for a reason. You have worked hard all your life, about time you start doing something you want to do.

JOAN  glad you have the new keyboard. Will make it easier for you. I am happy for you that you are closer to your fmily again. Makes it much better for you. It is always so good to see you post every day again.

LARRY  now you must be forward to having your other eye done. The CNA's do not get paid much over minimum wage. Most do the job because they like working with us seniors who can no longer do what we used to do. You can always tell the ones who enjoy their work. Last week we had 4 days wwith no hot water. Yesterday for the first time she sent a notice to all of us about no hot water today. That is a first. Maybe this time he will be able to fix it right with her keeping her nose out of something she knows nothing about.

JOY  when we get a package here delivered by UPS ot Fedex they come up to our apartment, anything from the post office is left on a bench in the mail room. No one takes anything that is not for them. One advantage of a small place. Of course there are cameras all over the building so would be hard to take something meant for anyone else.

SHIRLEY  I got the AARP news letter a couple of days ago and have not checked it yet and yesterday the magazine came in. All I will take to my grandson's home for Thanksgiving is stuffed celery. At least that is one thing I still can do. Will do the same for Christmas at my son's home. I never saw you whining. You are just too busy all the time.

AMY  last year was the first year there was no collection for a gift for the witch, wonder what she thought of that. Maybe that is why she has got worse. Nothing worse that being in a restaurant with kids running around or being noisy. My 3 were well behaved no matter where we took them. Their children were, too.

JENNY  sunny here, too and warmed up to 33°.

JUNE  no carpeting in my apartment so no need for a vacuum.

HAL  Did you ever get the pneumonia shot?  I did when it first came out. Hope the meds help you. One lady here had it last year annd she still went out to the smoke shack and had her cigarettes. She was a nurse and one would think she knew better than to do that.

PAT  so good seeing you. I know you have had a long time being sick. Prayers for you to feel better ASAP. Prayers also for Jeanne. Sorry to read she is back in the hospital.

JANE  good luck getting your chocolates going.

HAL  if these temperatures stay the longjohns will be going on. We have had snow before this some years and kids would be skating on the ponds.

AMY  where it is still chady outside the frost is still showing.

Hi Everyone.   We are finally getting some rain this morning, fairly light but good prospects for the rest of the day.  This is going to be a busy morning as had to fix Pat's breakfast, coffee and take care of other morning kitchen chores.  I will be going to coffee in a little while after picking up my friend.  I need to stop at the credit union ATM to get some cash and pick up a prescription and a couple of other things at Walmart.  When I get downtown I will drop off my friend at the cafe and go on to the Medical Supply store to exchange the new headgear they gave my wife last Friday.  It is just a couple of blocks away and then I will return to have coffee.  We are not having the Wisdom Group today.  Yesterday the pastor announced in our weekly newsletter that we will have police protection at all of our Sunday services.

Last night I used the oxygen concentrator for the first time and what a loud machine.  In addition to the sound of the motor in it there is a huff and puff sound every few seconds.  I was afraid it would keep Pat from sleeping but she said this morning it hadn't bothered her.

We had made plans to meet friends in Greensboro, Georgia, about an hour and 15 miinutes away on Saturday.  I may go alone or Pat may decide to try to make the trip after taking a pain pill.  She is experiencing a lot of spasm and other pain in her back and can hardly get around.

Joan, thanks for the update on your apartment situation.

Joy, I don't keep score on who comments on my postings so don't give it another thought.  I checked on Cracker Barrel yesterday and the take out meal serves 10 and is $100.  It comes cold and has to be reheated.  There are only 4 of us but can always use the left overs.  We haven't made a decision yet on what to do.  I had thought the fellow was talking about individual dinners.

I am going to have to come back later and finish reading the postings as need to leave for Walmart.

JoanFL

Good Thursday morning Everyfriend.  According to he TV weather news, it is chilly here- sweaters required so they say.

Pat--It is so god to see a post from you.  Thanks for the info about Jeanne Lee.  I say extra prayers for you two daily.  I do pray daily for all who come to the SS.

Good afternoon, on this dreary day, to days high is suppose to be 50, but to morrow they are saying low will be 21.

Pat it was so nice to see your post.  I know what you mean about hospitals, so far this year I have been in 4 times.

Hal, I am sorry to read you have pneumonia, I had it in Jan. and March, and have had the pneumonia shot. there are so many different kinds they tell me. Please take care.

Larry, so sorry Pat is not feeling well again.  My neighbor across the street invited me over for Thanksgiving, but I would rather stay, there will be about 20 people relatives at her house. they treat me so nice, but I would rather stay here, so she will send my dinner over.

June, I know you are happy tired now. So nice you could have a nice visit with your family.

Gloria, I am so sorry to read about your management. I have known of managers, that just great and have lot of ideas to keep everyone happy. When I was in just rehab, in they had something going on everyday, crafts, movies and trips. As I have wrote we have owner management here on the grounds 5 days a week. They supply the picnics and the Christmas party, they have a drawing for free rent for one month.

Joan, I am happy you are now near your family.

Hi, my cyber family. I'm so glad I have you. Dan and Nancy have left for home. Needless to say, I am very sad. We had such a great time together, I should be just thankful...but I am not...I am sad...shame on me. My tears keep trying to creep out. Why does Love have to hurt so much ?

Pat, what a delight to see a post from you Lady. I pray your health will keep improving so you can be a regular here.

Hal, I am so sorry you are that ill. But thanks be to God it has been diagnosed so you can take the necessary care to healing. We need you badly.

Our Jeanne Lee needs out prayers and I know you are all out there talking to God about healing her. May she be back home, strong and happy, very soon.

I think i'm going to skip our Choir practice today. I don't have any feeling for singing today. I miss my "kids". I hope God keeps them safe on their journey home, and that He forgives me for beings so sad.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

I do believe we are in for some snow later tonight. Thunder ,lightning ,rain and very windy at the moment. We are all set for the snow when it comes..sooner or later.....don't mind if it is later.

Hal hope your feeling a bit better tonight and hope you did a whole lot of nothing today.

June, hugs  for you, know how you are feeling.nice to enjoy Dan and Nancy's company and catch up on family news.

Jane, hope you can soon put your feet up and relax!

Take care everyone...

Thanks all of you for the good wishes.  The sun goes down and so do my spirits it seems.  The wife fixed a good supper, Shepard's pie, Brussels sprouts and Navy beans and it all tasted like mush to me, I apologize to her for my poor appetite.

Linedancer, I too have had the pneumonia shot and this is also my second go round, I had it last year, but that came on from a lingering cold.  This year no cough, fever or anything.  Just shortness of breath and tightness of the chest.  Live and learn.

Amy, I am sure the snow will be beautiful in the morning, but at this moment, you are welcome to it.  I did a whole lot of nothing, but didn't get caught up.  Just lay on the couch and tried to sleep, but couldn't, the water pill he prescribed worked as it was suppose to.

Gloria, I know it must be hard but try to ignore your building manager.  No use letting her spoil your home.

well; today has not been a good one I had a load of junk loaded on the Taylor.
started taking it to salvage yard. not fast but too fast down a hill, was loaded too heavy on the back of Taylor and it started whipping  and clipped a bridge banister and over the bank we went. it broke the hitch came loose and the truck rolled over two and 1/2 times, landed on it top, totaled of course. I do not seam any more sore than i was, sure hurt my pocketbook tho. I think I will go to bed and hope to sleep well tonight. see you all tomorrow.

Lloyd

Amy

Oh my Lloyd, glad you're ok but I bet you will be sore come morning. You need a set of sway/equalizer bars to take the sash shay out of it.
Pocket book,truck and trailer can be replaced.....our Lloyd can't.......so again...glad you're ok!!

Oh dear!  LLOYD, sometimes I think if you didn't have bad luck you wouldn't have any luck at all!

AMY, if you don't mind, please keep the snow north of the border.  I'm just not ready to try to get around in the bad weather and I can't stay home.

OK here's my day so far...

I stripped the bed, washed the bedding and remade the bed.  Then I did 2 more loads of laundry (the second one is waiting patiently in the dryer to be put away).

In between the wash loads, I started spreading peanut butter crackers to be dipped on the weekend.  Then I made the mixture for peanut butter candy centers and coconut creme candy centers.

THEN I TOOK A NAP!

Then I picked up Kiran  and we had supper together and "hung out" until her parents picked her up around 8 p.m.  They went out to dinner together without anyone else and I'm glad to be able to make that happen.  It's extremely rare!

Now I'm checking out what all of you are up to and I placed an on line order.

I think I'll quit for the day!!!

Amy, thank you for your kind understanding. I feel rather ashamed for having such gloomy feelings today. All turned out so well. Younger son gave me an uplifting phone call, and my DIL Nancy just sent me a loving email. They had an easy time in the L.A. traffic, and are enjoying Pismo Beach for the night. They are right by the Ocean. And they will be at home tomorrow.  So all is well. Is this early for your first snowfall ?

Hal, I am so sorry you are feeling so bad, extra prayers will be said for you my friend. Don't let this bout of illness get you down . This too will pass.

Lloyd, I can't believe the horrible accidents you have happen to you. I think you should buy a tame horse and buggy for your transportation. It seems like a gas powered engine is bad luck to you. This sounds like a horrible accident...one where you did not get killed, thanks be to God. I think you should cancel the Motor Home, and just stay safe at home.

Time for me to have a light supper...Oatmeal sounds about right, and then off to an early bed time.

I love you my friends. Keep well and happy, and we will meet again on the morrow. God be with you. June

How you going to clean the mess up.  Hope you have plenty of help and a good truck to haul it off.

June, I know you must be lonely for the kids.  I know I always hate to see the kids leave after they have been here to visit.  My oldest and hubby are out in the Gulf on the way home from a cruise.  Will be back here on Saturday.

Well folks, I am going to put it to bed.

I am posting much too late, but it has been a very long day.

My cousins husband past away early this morning from cardiac arrest.  It was a total shock as it always is.  A biopsy report came late last night that cancer had mastizised in his head, so he was destined for a bad journey......we all feel the heart attack was a God send.

Thank you SHIRLEY for your kind words.  They meant a lot to me.  Sometimes we just feel so helpless when everything around is seems out of control.

JUNR DEAR, never apologize for speaking your feelings.  Of course you were sad to see your family go after your wonderful visit with them.  HUGS to you.

LLOYD, I feel so sad for you!  You try so hard to do the things you have to do and this last mishap is just terrible.  I am so thankful you were not seriously hurt.  You know you could have been!

HAL, sorry you were confirmed with a case of pneumonia.....take care of yourself nd feel better soon.

PAT, it is great to see your post.  Two years  of you feeling so bad  and having to deal with your pain is just way too long.  I am sorry.  I do hope you can get this health of yours turned around and get to feeling stronger.  Extra positive prayers for you.  Thank you for sharing the info about our Jeanne Lee. I do hope she will get better and be able to go home soon.

GLORIA de, of course your neighbor would love you to join them on Turkey Day, but if you just would feel better to be in your own home then that is exactly what you need to do.  You know the6 will make sure you have a plate of the delicious meal.

I must get to bed.  Really tired tonight after this stressful day.

Good morning Everyfriend!  The "boinger" for the doggies pill wait just went off and my day begins.  I really don't like the shorter days.  I guess I'll have to begin getting myself around earlier and get some of my running done before breakfast.  I'm really NOT put together that way and I especially don't like to make early morning plans in the winter months.  The weather is so unpredictable!

I;ll be off to WM at 10.  Wish me smiles.  I wish you all a pleasant day, good health, nice weather, good friends and whatever you wish for yourselves today.

Good morning everyone, 42° now but from what I just heard a cold front is on the way and it will be dropping all day and wind picking up to gusts over 40mph. Sun is shining but will not warm up here.

LARRY  terrible when churches now have to have police protection. There has been talk on local TV about protection at churches here or locking doors when services start.

JOAN  today will have to bundle up to go out. Like you I pray for all of our cyber family.

GLORIA de  at  least this building still only has us seniors. So many others now accept handicap people wno are much younger and very noisy.

JUNE  I know how you feel with Dan and Nancy heading home again. That is how I feel every time my daughter and family visited here. I love having them and did a lot of crying when they left.

AMY  we are getting your cold but no snow yet. Will need longjohns to go out with this wind. Will have to try getting out this morning before it gets colder and more windy. I do like to get out for some fresh air every day if only for a few minutes.

HAL  no matter what I eat lately after a few bites I can eat no more. I never add salt to my food like one DIL and grandson do. They grab the salt shaker before tasting their food. Lately to me every things seems salty. As long as the witch stays out of my apartment I can ignore her. I will never forget the time she knocj=ked at the door and used her key and walked in before I could move or say anything. That was an invasion of my privacy and I let her know it in fromnt of others. She said she would never do that and I said you did that to me and don't try to deny it. She shut her mouth and walked away. I had already told the others I was with about what she did.

LLOYD  you just cannot get ahead no matter how you try. I am glad you are alright and did not get hurt in that rollover. Hugs for you my friend.

JANE  of bet those coconut cream centers would be wonderful dipped in chocolate. I do love coconut anything.

HAL  when my oldest son takes a cruise every year I worry the whole time and relax when the are home again, same when my grandson travels for the company he works for. I am quite a worrier even when there is really no reason to worry. I also worry about this cyber family of ours.

JENNY  so sorry about your cousin's husband. God saved him from suffering the cancer in his head.

JANE  only pleasant people with smiles in your line today.

Good Morning Everyone!

Well I got a pretty good nights sleep.  Woke up a couple of times and had to sit up on the side of the bed for a little while but was able to go back to sleep.

Jenny so sorry for your loss. We all say it was for the best but it certainly doesn't heal the ache in your heart or the void of their absence.

Gloria, someone needs to explain to that lady that what she considers her job is your home and you expect for her to act accordingly.  I hope the weather there not to get to bad.

Amy, how much snow did you get?  Just a dusting or a goodly amount?
I'll bet you got the old fire roaring and cuddled up to it.  Love wood burning fires, that is until I have to clean up after them.  That is the reason I put in gas logs.  So much easier.

Don't know for sure what our weather is going to be like, it is cloudy and they are talking about turning cold, but I think we are going to get just a glancing blow, not the real bad stuff, yet.

larryhanna

Hi Everyone.  After a wonderful rainy day yesterday we now have bright sunshine and will be in the mid-60's this afternoon.  Yesterday I thought we would not be going to meet friends tomorrow but Pat decided she would be able to make the trip if she takes a pain pill early enough so it is back on.

I had a really good day yesterday and got all of the errands I planned to do done.  Today I plan on staying home.  Pat has been having a problem with her computer trying to update to a newer version of Windows 10.  It was get to about 90% and go no further.  Yesterday I found a link to a direct download of the current Windows 10 and was able to get it installed last night. I just completed another tweak on it.  Hopefully this will eliminate another source of aggravation for her.

I did come back to this discussion yesterday and read the remaining postings but decided there were no comments that hadn't already been made by others so didn't post again.

deAngel, Pat just finished her shower and her back was having terrible spasms. I try to help her as much as I can but I can't take her pain away.  Nice of your neighbor to send a dinner over for you.  I don't blame you not wanting to be around 20 other people. The drawing for free rent would be a prize worth winning.

June, if you didn't care those tears of Love wouldn't be there.  I hope they don't wait a long time before visiting you again.

Amy, do you have your snow shovel warmed up?  Glad you are all prepared for winter.

Hal, sure hope you are feeling at least a little better today and your appetite is better.  Glad you didn't wait any longer to see the doctor.

Lloyd, what a terrible thing to happen.  I hope you are all right today.  You are certainly having more than your share of bad things happening to you in the last year or so.  I take it you were not in the river.

Jane, nice of you to keep Kiran and let her parents have a special time to themselves.  You certainly had a full day yesterday.

Jenny, sorry about your cousins husband.  If he was going to die then the cardiac arrest was certainly preferable to months of terrible pain that could have been in his future.

Gloria, I expect many Churches are now making plans to provide protection during their services.  Locking the Church door seems so out of balance with your faith but if it takes that then it is the thing to do.  My wife also grabs the salt shaker and that is something I almost never do.  I sure don't need to retain anymore fluid that I do with the congestive heart failure.  I am also very sensitive to things being very salty tasting.

Joy

I can still say "Good Morning" for a few more  minutes.

Nothing special in my neck of the woods.

Lloyd,  I just don't know what else is going to happen to you.  It just seems like you are an accident waiting to happen.  So glad that you weren't hurt any worse than you were.  You must carry a lucky horseshoe with you.  You seem to get out of the predicaments without too much difficulty.  I, too, hope you have good insurance.

It is really cold today.  The weatherman said that last night would be our first real hard freeze and it sure feels like it was.  I guess our little spell of "springtime" is over.

Larry, happy that you and Pat have decided to go meet your friends tomorrow.  Have an enjoyable visit with them.

Pat, it was so nice to hear from you.  Hope you will continue to check in once in a while. I know you have not been real well, and hope that you will continue to feel better.  Do you still make the trip to your other home down in Virginia, I think that is where you go?  Hope you were able to spend some time there this past summer.

Jeanne Lee, hope you are feeling better and soon be back with us. You have been missed.

June, I am happy that you got to visit with your family, but  know the feeling when they had to leave. That is always a big let down, I know. But, at least, you can always relive the visit and hopefully that will give you some pleasures.

Hello to all the other friends.

I hope everyone will have a good day and a great week end.

I didn't make it in this morning :(

Been a busy enough day for me, I went to get my hair cut and this is the first time I have left hubby along since June....I did have my phone with me if he needed me back home though.

Hal, thankfully we just got a light dusting of snow here but gosh it is cold out now, temp is 16 ° F at the moment and windy!!!

Larry, I love staying home...and now when it is so cold out love even more sore.......does that mean I am getting older? lol

Gloria, when I went to get my hair cut I wore dress pants and oh my did I feel the wind and cold. Now I am in my blue jeans and flannel shirt,.a red checkered one that hubby didn't want :)

Better go let the doggies back in.

Take care everyone.

Very quite in here tonight.  I didn't see a post in here today from June,
hope everything is well with her.

A good day coming to a good ending. I just called my son Dan, and they arrived safely home, picked up the four doggies from the sitter, and got plenty of wet kisses from them. They had a lovely hotel at Pismo Beach. So all is well that ends well.

Hal I hope your day went well and you will have a very restful sleep tonight. Does the Pneumonia it difficult to breath ? I pray not. Sometimes it helps to add extra pillows behind your body to make breathing easier.

Jenny, I'm sorry to read about the death of your cousin's husband, but in this case it was a Blessing. Any cancer is horrible so he will be spared that suffering. I hope you can have a restful sleep.

Lloyd, God certainly does take care of you. He hardly dares take an eye from you, the way you keep banging yourself around. were you still in the truck with all that tipping over, or was it just the trailer that went through the bridge.? Sounds awful.

Janie, I hope you had OODLES of smiles today at WM. I have to choice about when I wake in the morning…the nurse is here with my first pill, B.P. check, and patch for the nitro. By then I am wide awake. So I do my massages and exercises to get the blood flowing, then on for that first cup of coffee, and prayer time.

Gloria, Dan and Nancy always made a point of coming down in the Fall for a short visit, but Dan is nearing 70 now, and has hip pains in both legs so a long drive is impossible…they can only make it half way then spend a night in a motel. So I was extra glad they made it now…..and I have no guarantees how long I'll hang in here also. Dan had a black belt doing Karate, and is suffering for it now. Like you, I just can't eat a big meal anymore. I order lunch and end up taking half of it home for supper.

Joy, I called my son this evening and just hearing his voice made me feel great. Thanks for your kind commiseration. Hugs.

Gosh, I just looked at the clock and it is nearly eight o' clock here. You all are probably in bed asleep, so I'm talking to myself. So I will tuck you all in with a hug and Prayers, and we will all catch up again tomorrow. I love you bushels and pecks. God be with you. June

June I road the truck all the way down the bank all three and a half turns.
It stopped on it's top with wheels in the air. only the trailer hit the bridge rayling
that broke the ball hitch in too. the trailer landed up right with the tong stuck
in the ground on the side of the bank. i just roiled around in the cab. we were able to pull it on down the bank on the level and hook it on to another truck and take the load on to salvage yard. well I am going back to bed, see you all tomorrow.
