Good morning everyone...

Another night of patchy sleep. Looked the the temp and it is 0° F at the moment. May see if hubby would like to go for a drive today..I need to pick up a top that came in and a few groceries.

June, that phone call would make your heart smile..

Jenny, I am sorry to read about your cousin's husband  but know he is in a better place now.

Hal, I see you are up now too. Hope you managed to get some sleep.

Gloria, you would need longjohns here this morning!

Enjoy your day everyone..

Shirley

Good morning, Amy (and anyone else awake).... I've already had a hard boiled egg & 2 pieces of toast & big mug of coffee.  Tom was ready to eat but Tiger wanted to go back to bed so I put her food in a ziploc & back in the frig (salmon & tuna).  I know Callie is not ready to eat so early.  I put her heated bed in the other cat bed that is on top of the camper in the garage... she likes to be high & the garage is cold so she likes it out there.  Wish she learned long ago that inside the house is NOT the place to mark her territory.

I started watching an old "Matt Dillon" show I've never seen before & want to finish it, glad I put a TV in the bedroom.

Lloyd, I can't believe your accidents & ability to survive!  My mother used to say I was going to wear out my Guardian Angel, I expect you have worn out half a dozen in your life!  Glad you weren't hurt any worse than you probably were, sometimes those old muscles & bones take a few days to stiffen up.  God Bless.

Pat, nice to see you, I think of you often and wonder how you are.  You were my first welcome to the computer age & such a wonderful photographer.  Many years of memories.  Sorry it took Jeanne Lee being in the hospital to bring you here, hope she recovers fast.  She knows we will all be praying for her but if you get a chance to tell her.... remind her, okay?

Jenny, so sorry for all the people that loved your cousin's husband & will miss him, they get my sympathy, I think God must have had a special place in His heart for that man to save him from the agony of cancer. Hugs to you, how fast we go from happy about a wedding and sad that our heart aches.

Hal, hope you are feeling better by now, I expect it will take some days & nights of extra sleep to make up for the hard work you body has gone through fighting this battle.  Hug the pup & close your eyes for another nap.

Gloria, I hope someone gives you some UGGs for Christmas.... as much as you/we like winter, trust me, UGGs are worth every penny.  My daughter gave me my first pair 4 or 5 years ago & I wore them out... they have become house shoes in the RV.  Got to remember that you don't wear sox with that fur inside....( & they never get smelly) ...  ;)   Maybe you have some already?  I am already wearing the ones she gave me last year.

I'm going to see if any of those zzzzzzzzs are waiting for me.  This show is about over. Don't know how I missed it as many times as I have watched the re-runs.   Another week end, can you believe it?

JaneS

Good Morning Everyfriend.  Nothing earth-shaking happening in my neck of the woods so I won't bore you with the details.  Have a nice day whatever it brings.

Good morning everyone, if I thought yesterday morning was cold this morniung with the wind feels like 8° from what the weather gal just said. It is 19°. If I intend to go outside guess I better get the longjohns on. Right now I do not want to think about it.  But I still like winter better than hot humid summer.

HAL if one can believe what others here say many have complained to the owners but they do nothing as long as the witch saves them money. Talked to younger son last night and he had his woodstove going, other son has a pellet stove and that throws a lot of heat but not the mess of burning wood.

LARRY  this business of food tasting salty to me is something new. Something I will ask my PCP about next appointment. Hope you and Pat were able to meet your friends.

JOY  like you our spring time weather is now a memory with no real autumn temperatures, just this sudden winter freeze.

JOAN  with today's prices for prescriptions I hope your problem is fixed now. If I had to pay full price for the ones I have I would not be getting them.

AMY  I love flannel shirts, mens shirts, they always seem warmer than the ones for women.

HAL  hope you slept better last night.

JUNE  you see Dan more often than I see my daughter. Last time she was here was in 2006. We do spend an hour or more every day with Skype but now the same as hugging her.

LLOYD  please take it easy today, no more accidents, please.

AMY  need longjohs here, too, this morning.

SHIRLEY  I have sheepskin lined boots. My daughter gave me the first pair years ago and I wore them out so she sent me another pair, not UGGs but nice and warm.

JANE  good morning.

Hi Everyone.  Our day started out at 39 degrees and we are to get into the mid-50's by late afternoon.  Our trip to Greensboro is definitely on today.  Yesterday evening as Pat got up to come to the dinner table she found the spasms had stopped. She had a good nights sleep and this morning wasn't crying out in pain as she got up.  So I am hopeful that with a pain pill before we start that this will be a good outing for her.  It is only about and hour and fifteen minutes from where we live to where we are going and often it took that long for us to get to to Atlanta when we made the many trips to see Stacey.  After we get home our son and granddaughter are coming out to spend the late afternoon and evening with us as he has today off from work.  So it should be an enjoyable day.  We had a very unexpected surprise yesterday when our great granddaughter, Shelby, called us for the first time ever.  We also got to speak briefly with our oldest great grandson, although he wasn't very in to talking very much.  It has been about 10 years since we last saw them.

Joy, we are beginning to have some much cooler days here as well and I am ready for them.  We have had the heat on in the house for the last couple of days and it has felt good although Pat gets too warm sometimes.

Sandy, it does seem that many of our friends here are not having good health.  I hope all is well up your way.

Joan, dealing with insurance companies can be frustrating.  I do hope each day is finding you a little stronger.

Amy, it sounds like your hubby is doing better if you don't need to be with him all the time.  It does give some peace of mind when we can always have the cell phone with us to be contacted.  I think you are leading the way with cold weather.  I haven't started to wear my flannel shirts yet, although thought about it for today but decided I would wear something a little nicer. I see it is even colder for you all this morning.

Shirley, it is nice to see an episode of an old program that we haven't seen before.

Jane, I just bet you find plenty to keep you busy today.

June, it is always a relief to hear that our children have reached their homes or destinations when they travel.  You know we love you too.

Lloyd, at least your trailer wasn't ruined and it sounds like you were able to sell the salvage.  Were you wearing your seat belt?

Gloria, things tasting salty to me is nothing new.  For some reason I just never got into the habit of picking up the salt shaker.  I would use it on corn and popcorn with butter.  Of course, there is a lot of salt in canned products so don't think I have been deprived.

Good Saturday morning.

Pretty sunny morning, but only in the high teens.  Supposed to be up near 50º by the middle of the week.  I sure did push the thermostat up a bit this morning.   Feels better now.

Lloyd, I am just amazed at what you went through and came out of that tumble as good as you did.  I hope that will be a lesson to you to WEAR THAT SEATBELT !!!!  You know you would have  your grandchildren wear one if they were with you.   You really must have a guardian angel by your side all the time.

Larry, hope you and Pat enjoy your day with your friends.  Happy you were able to be in touch with other family members.  Hope you get to spend some time with them soon.

I have been up a while, and need to get something to eat and a cup of tea or coffee.  Not sure what I want right this minute.

I am wishing all the Friends a  wonderful Sat. If you are having a cold spell,  please try to stay warm.  Those flannel shirts sound great.  I wore a fleece shirt all day yesterday.

Will try to check back later.

Good Saturday morning, Everyfriend, on this Veterans Day.  Let us all take time to remember those who have served, those who are serving and those who gave their lives serving.  God Bless them all.

Linda and Ed were here his morning and said it is very chilly.  The temp below my post is not the AL one - it is FL.

Bis, we had a program for our Veterans yesterday. We were given cards to put a message in, so every Veteran received a thank you. I didn't sign mine, but I didn't think that would have been proper since I don't know all the Veterans by name. Are your temps similar to the ones in Florida ?

I woke up tired, so I'm just going to do nothing today. I do want to write a few snail mail letters though. I am far behind in that dept. My mind is still in bed, snoozing away.

My new Lynx vacuum arrived yesterday but it is still in the box. I really didn't need it, but so nice to have for accidental odds and ends. No cord, light weight, easy to clean. My house keeper vacuums every other week, and dusts all the blinds and pictures and furniture. Linens are changed weekly and bathrooms are cleaned weekly.

It's mid-morning so I'm going to stroll downstairs and see what the lunch menu will say. I shall return.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Good afternoon, on this very cold day.  Jane, I am glad to see you got some happy news.

Hal, hope you are feeling better each day.  I have had a dry cough for the last few weeks, went to the hematologist a couple of days ago, told him about the cough and he said stry rubbing vick in the bottom of you feet and putting warm socks on when you go to be.   Tried it and now I am hardly coughing.

Lloyd, we all worry about you, and sure hope you keep that angle on your shoulder.

Gloria and June, after a member of my family has been here, I say I make the trip with them.  I do not feel happy until I hear, I am home OK. then I get back to normal.

Joan, I think it is cold all over. Larry said it was 30 something in SC.

Larry, hope you had a nice trip to see your friends and Pat did well.

Jane , I am so happy for you!!! You deserve this..and then some my dear friend.

We have been home for about 1 1/2 hours now, I have laundry on the go and an apple pie in the oven. It was a case of usin or losin the apples so into a pie they went. Will put some in the hidey hole when done. Don't know if you have a Giant Tiger there but managed to get 3 fleece tops and some parsnips. Just going to rest for the rest of the day......maybe sew later.

Weather is still cold but no new snow :)

Apple pie is ready.

Just a quick post.  Been blah all day and darkness came and with it my old body seems to go down with the sun.  Except very little sun today.  Had some light rain.

Joanie, "they" said we got into 60's here today, but it certainly didn't feel like it to me.

Janie, share with us, some of us need some good news.  But I am happy for you anyoldhow.

Callie, OSU had a tight one today.  But they managed to pull it off, of course they had the ball last and the interception didn't hurt.

Janie. I am rejoicing with you girl. You have earned some good luck and that makes me happy.

Gloria de, I have never heard of Vicks on the feet, but my mom used to rub it on our chests when we had a bad cold. I am so glad it helped you dear, and I am doubly glad that your nephew is still with you. Is it possible he can stay with you permanently. ? That would really be a nice arrangement for you…just like Mary Ann and her nephew. I am all settled down now, knowing my kids are safely home again. I don't know what happened to me this time, never before went into such glums with company departure. Must be age catching up to me.

Congratulations Don. I am so proud of you for keeping up your Santa job…it keeps you young in Spirit…God Bless you for bringing Joy into Christmas.

Bis, being close to family is the very best place to be, so I am delighted you made the move from Fla. I can't be near both sons, but Gary made a good choice for me. I love it here at Rowntree…all the residents feel like family, and there is an aura of Peace here that is so welcome to my aging body.

Hal, I feel as you do, with the setting of the sun, I follow the sun down in spirit. I'm going to fix a light supper and go to an early bed and book. Something about reading about the fictional lives of others keeps me interested in life in general. My kids chose a mystery for me to read that they both enjoyed, so that's what I'm reading now.

Time to eat something…I think it will be sour dough toast, fruit, and an energy drink..Dr. recommended, then off to bed. Hope to make it to Church tomorrow.

Hugs all around dear Cyber family. I love you all, as does our God. June
As long as we are here, let's dance.

DON, I a: so happy for you for getting your Santa digs set.  I know this makes you so happy!

LLOYD, I am so happy you were able to get the load to the salvage yard.  Surprised that Bob is buying your place...I thought it was going to be family that were taking it over?  No matter, just happy you are getting out of there before you meet your demise! 😍

Thank you for all of the kind words regarding my cousins passing.  We all realize he is in a much better place.

Today we decided to take my power scooter over to m6 neighbor that had the amputations. She was having so much trouble getting around in her wheelchair as her flooring is carpet.  I hope the cart will allow her to get around.

I had best sa6 goodnight and get this posted before my iPad dies.

Good morning everyfriend!  It's 28º here  right now and not supposed to go much higher today.  I have a couple of errands to run after church but the rest of my day will be inside.

Jenny, what a lovely, unselfish thing for you to do for your neighbor.  I hope it helps her to get around.  It must be so frustrating for her not to be able to do things and your lovely gift will be a help to her every day.  You brought tears to my eyes.

Thanks to Everyfriend for rejoicing with me when I can't share the details.

The doggies and I are waiting for the "boinger" so they can have breakfast and I'll be getting ready for church.  I've already said a little prayer that my car will start in ths cold.  I have to remembwer to bring it under cover now that winter is here.

I wish you all a happy day filled with whatever pleases you most.

Good morning everyone...

22 ° out there this morning...brrrr

A day of rest here ,would like to get some sewing in too.

Jane, do you have a block heater in your car.

Jenny that was so thoughtful of you, I am sure your neighbour says thank you to you every time she  uses it.

Hal was it you that asked me if we had block heaters and I forgot to answer? Yes we do but the vehicles go in the garage.

Enjoy your day everyone..

Good Morning Everyone!

Well this is my second time in here this morning, I was checking things at about 4 AM and no one here but me.

Lloyd like you we have some moisture but just enough to make things nasty and I guess it has to help the plants but not like a good rain.  But thankful for what little we do get.  The temp here is about 60 F.  What we are getting is what they call overrun,

Jenny, let me add my "great thing you did" about the scooter for your neighbor.  I know she will be grateful.

Amy, Jane, please keep your cold weather up there.  I have no need for it.  Scraping ice off windshields is not one of my favorite pass times.

I think I am going to skip church today, I just don't feel up to getting ready.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Hi Everyone.  We have another overcast morning and will only get up into the high 50's today.  We had a nice trip to Greensboro yesterday and met with 5 of our friends.  Greensboro is an old town and the Yesterday Restaurant where we ate was also in an old building but was clean and well maintained and the food was very good.  We had no problems on the drive over or back.  The only problems Pat encountered was getting from where we parked to where we entered the restaurant and back to the car.  However, we both really enjoyed the outing.  Pat will not be going to Church with me today as the pews are very uncomfortable with her back problems.  About 5 yesterday afternoon Scott and Jennifer came over and we had one of the Costco Lasagna's for our dinner.  We had a good visit and they shared about their trip to New York and getting to see our great grandchildren.

Lloyd, your stubbornness is probably what is keeping you going. It sounds like you have worked out a good arrangement to retain a nice place to live when you are not traveling. Thanks for the info on the seat belt question.  This may be one time when not having it on saved you from a lot of injury.  Usually it doesn't work that way.

Joan, a good reminder on Veteran's Day yesterday to remember our Veterans.

Jane, you have gotten our curiosity up with your really good news.  I am very happy and do rejoice with you even if I don't know what it is.  :)

deAngel, I had forgotten about the Vick's and putting it on the bottom of the feet.  Sure glad that helped your cough.

Amy, a pie is always a good thing with apples.

Don, when you retired from your radio show you seem to have gotten pretty busy.  What play were you in?

Hal, both Clemson and South Carolina won their games yesterday so it was a good day for the State in the sport's department.  Georgia didn't do so well.

Jenny, there will not be a visit with the great grandchildren anytime soon if ever.  Nice of you to share your scooter with your neighbor.  Getting around in a wheelchair on carpet is difficult.  We had that problem with Stacey until she got the electric wheelchair.

Gloria

Good morning everyone cloudy this morning but warmer than yesterday at 30° this morning. Wind has calmed down after the last 2 days so that alone will make it feel warmer ouside. Had trouble getting to sleep last night and woke  late. First time since the time change I woke with it light out.

LARRY  I ca n imagine you you felt talking to your great grands yesterday. I know I would love to talk to my 2 great grandsons that the family have had not seen since my grandson died 6 years ago. I use very little can foods and only thing I use salt on is corn on the cob and watermelon. My FIL got me to try it on watermelon and it just makes it taste better.

LLOYD  glad you will sell your farm to a good friend and not strangers. You know you will always be able to go there.

JOY  I love those fleece shirts/jackets. They are so cozy warm. Yesterday I had a turtle neck on under a fleece and an insulated vest under my winter jacket and a hat on when I went out and even with the wind I was comfortable walking around and then sitting on the porch in the sunshine.

JOAN  the temperature thing is no longer under my posts, just noticed that a few days ago. With this computer every day I find something missing. Even my Skype did not work yesterday, all I got was not recognized and to join. Even then it would not accept my name or password. Looks like I will have to start a new one. At least my daughter and I had a chat on the phone.

JUNE  since I have help 4 times a week at times they tell me there is not much cleaning for them to do. At least I do get a good back massage on those days and that sure helps my back. They can cook for me if there is something I want.

JANE  whatever so good happened in your life  to make you happy. You deserve good news and good happenings. You are kind to everyone you meet.

GLORIA de  Shirley mentioned the vicks on feet a long time ago. So far have not had to try it. I think all Mothers worry about their children when they travel. These days  seems like there is no place safe to be, even in our own homes.

AMY  I still have apples my son picked and long for an apple pie. I did make an apple crisp and applesauce but none of my CNA's know how to make piecrust. I do not like those premade ones sold in the markets.  Your apple pie is most welcome to my taste buds.

DON  good seeing you. Glad you will be Santa again. I think you look forward to that every year. Glad you are keeping busy but sure miss your Sunday afternoons.

HAL  hope today is a better one for you.
