I do not know what my problem is, but every time I go to a new forum, I have to start all over again, this is the the 3rd time I have come in here, and I have to start all over again. I am also looking for the craft and TV forums, and cannot find them.

It will have your name instead of mine and the correct date and time on the bottom line. I always click on the second line and it will take me to a page showing all of the sites I go to and showing all the posts I haven't read.

Others use links, favorites and whatever works for them.

I have used this way since 2000 when I joined SeniorNet without any problems.

Lloyd Hammond

well I am sorry the link never worked. My grand daughter sent me pictures of the two babels not being held just warped up almost like mummies. I forward them to Jeannie Lee .reticently as she has Ben in Hp. I told her if she is up to post them for me but other wise not to. we have been busy to day getting the track back in place for the friend and getting good tires and wheels on my lowboy and getting my dosser home ( DO THANK GOD) it is done. it takes me long time to do what i used to do in a short time.

Hello everyone from sunny (finally!) Florida! We had a lot of rain and some wind but escaped the hurricane for the most part.

Joan - I'm so glad you are giving some thought to moving closer to Joe and Linda. It would give you some peace of mind. It's hard when you have no family close by.

Phyllis - Hope you can get someone to clean up the debris from the storm. That's a difficult job.

I'm also wondering if Johann is having any more weather problems.

Thinking of all of you who live near the flooding.

My little state of Vermont has had a terrible tragedy. Five teens on their way home from a concert in Burlington, VT were killed on I-89. A pick-up truck driving north in the southbound lane crashed into their car setting it on fire and killing all five. They were all around 16 yrs. old. I can't imagine what their families are going through. To make matters worse, it appears the driver of the pick-up then stole a police cruiser at the scene and drove the wrong way again hitting seven other cars. Five people are in the hospital.  Sorry to bring up something so sad, but it has been on my mind a lot. :'(

Jenny - I agree! Vermont's governor has signed a bill re-naming Columbus Day "Indigenous Peoples Day". I'm trying to picture "Indigenous Peoples Day" sales in the stores. I get what they're saying but it's time to stop re-writing history! (And, yes, I know that Leif Erickson is thought to be the first one to discover this continent!)

Lloyd - I'll check Photos for pictures of the babies. Congratulations!

A cup of tea sounds good right now. Wish I had a muffin to go with it.

Shirley

Beverly, my sincere sympathy for the sadness you are feeling.... when a group of teenagers get killed we just can't get past the "waste of life.... maybe the person that would have found a cure for cancer" is always what comes to mind.  We lost most of our football team in a car wreck when I was in high school..... drinking & driving and ran into a concrete culvert.  The ones that weren't killed had such injuries their lives would never be "normal".  So many years ago but the heavy sadness comes over me when I think of it.

Lloyd, I don't do Facebook but I thought you had to accept friends for them to see your photos.  All of my children & grands share photos with Facebook so my daughter "snags" photos to e-mail me.  This is the only place I come to talk online.  I will check for your twins over in Photos!  Congratulations to all.

I've been nipping at the Halloween candy (shame-shame).... still have to find my Hershey fun size.  Yum... They were out of the milk choc without almonds.  I quit opening the door for trick or treaters when they started coming to the door taller than I am and no costume or little ones.... just a grocery bag begging.  The problem was I would open for the little kids that had parents following them on the street but the big people would come to the door while it was already open and I just didn't feel safe by myself.  So I don't turn on the lights anymore, but I have candy for anyone that comes to visit!

Joan, hard to decide when there's no guarantee the kids will stay in one place forever.  Hardest part is having to make new friends when you move and all the medical changes.  My sister said she would move into a retirement center immediately if her husband died, can't understand why I'm still in this house more than 3 years later.  I don't like changes.  How long have you been there?  Comes down to "whatever floats your boat", right?

I am sleepy tonight & really going to bed.  Last night I came in early & ended up not going to bed until about midnight.  Sweet dreams to all and God Bless.  Shirley

June Drabek

Patricia, you did a good job in helping our Gloria de. I hope it works for her. That is exactly how I enter S.S. and other places I visit. I hope she is connecting to the program itself.

I decided to do a load of laundry tonight and it wore me out...just doing a simple chore like that. I'm really feeling worthless, so will have an early to bed for sure.

I wish you all a very Good Night and a happy healthy tomorrow. Prayers, Hugs and Love to all. June
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Lloyd I got the picture on skype.  Like you said, two little mummies.  But that smile on the Dads face just about covers it all.  One proud Dad.

Jenny, sorry you feel that way about the political forum.

Jeanne Lee

Beverly, the Albany TV stations have been reporting all day about that Vermont tragedy.  The idiot is himself in the hospital, and they are saying he was "high on marijuana".  And they're legalizing that stuff!!!

Real Faith

A grandfather was going by his little granddaughter's room one night when he saw her kneeling beside her bed, with head bowed and hands folded, repeating the alphabet.

"What are you doing?" he asked her.

She explained, "I'm saying my prayers, but I couldn't think of just what I wanted to say. So I'm just saying all the letters of the alphabet, and God can put them together however he thinks best."

Food For Thought

The High Cost of Living
(Author Unknown, Provided by Student Discipleship Ministries, TX)

Matthew 16:24-27 (NIV) says:

"Then Jesus said to his disciples, 'If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it. What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done.'"

What does Jesus say about "profit" in this passage? How do you think that relates to your life?

When the city of Pompeii was excavated, the body of a woman was found, embalmed by the ashes of Vesuvius. Her feet were pointed in the direction of the city gate, but her face was turned back in the direction of her outstretched hand. Just beyond her frozen fingers was found a bag of pearls. In her flight to save her life she had hesitated, though death was hot on her heels. Her hesitation likely cost her life. Was a bag of pearls really worth that price?

How much is real life worth to you? What is it that you are reaching out for that could cut you off from the life the Lord has for you? Sometimes the very thing we want most may cost us more than we ever dreamed. Think about that area and make a choice to turn away from it, turning your face toward the Lord.

Good morning everyone..

Have a fire going again this morning and will likely put one on when I come back from the hospital.Everything seems to be going well.....just need to get a few of his numbers up and then maybe he can come home.
Need to get a move on here.

Joan, thank you for breakfast.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Good morning, Vanilla-Jackie.  That VT car accident sure was a horror.  You were up extra early today.

Amy--Good morning.  I pray your husband continues to improve so he will soon be well enough to come home.

I'm sure missing Janie and hope she soon gets her computer back so she can be back here.

Good Morning Everyone!

A little chilly here this morning, but like Lloyd said it will soon warm up.  I am going to go get my flu shot today and get the car inspected and new tags for the coming year.  Seems like I just did all that yesterday, a year seems to go by so quickly anymore.

Amy, hope they get those numbers up quickly and you get hubby home where he belongs.  I know he must be tired of the hospital.  I was once in the hospital for 10 days and boy was I ever ready to get home.

Joanie, hope your day goes well.  I wouldn't blame you for moving closer to the kids.  You must get lonely and miss them.  I sometime wonder, when moving, if it wouldn't just be easier to sell/give away/donate all your furniture and buy new, it cost so much to move anymore.  But there is no way I could move myself again.

Think coffee is ready, who wants some.

JoanFL

Good morning halkel.  It's overcast here and much cooler than it has been for months.  When I moved here, I did just what you suggested.  I packed up 25% of my clothes/shoes, my jewelry and a few items that were special to me.  I bought everything else new here.

Gloria

Good morning everyone, a cool one here, some places went below freezing last night, we are one of those places. When I pulled the shades up I could see frost on the cars that are still in the shade.

AMY  good seeing your post and that your DH might go home today. A good staff at the hospital is a good thing. Last time I was in a hospital the staff left much to be desired. I would not send anyone there.

JOAN  I had a great sleep last night. No CNA here yesterday because of the holiday. I sure missed her. She will be here tomorrow. I am spoiled with her here 3 days a week.

LARRY  my older son called me and asked how to make stuffed peppers. I told him the way I always made them and he added some different things to his and he said they came out great. My DIL enjoyed them and took one to work for her lunch the next day. My other son had asked me one time and now he makes them often, There are so many different ways they can be stuffed. My grandson put Face book in my PC but I only want to see what family is doing. I really dislike it. If I check it once a month that is a lot.

HAL  from what I see on the TV it will not get out of the 60's here today. Nice. Being on the top floor with the empty space above under the roof it does get hot in here in the summer even with the AC going full blast. I still rather have a window AC over the portable one. According to the manager the window ones take away from the beauty of the building.

JOAN  it would make all of us feel better if you were closer to Joe and Linda. It would be away from the Florida coast and safer for those hurricanes.  Would make your family feel better, too.

JENNY  I have heard nothing about changing the name of Columbus day. I could understand about changing Armistice day to Veterans day but still think of it as Armistice.

GLORIA de  I have Ccleaner installed and when it runs it gets rid of all cookies and I have to sign in again. Big pain.

BEVERLY  that was so sad about those teens in Vermont. Been too many times an accident has happened because of someone driving the wrong way on a highway. Don't understand how or why they can get on the off ramp.

SHIRLEY  glad I no longer get kids at Halloween.  Even years ago when we had our house I would get some teens and I really hated to see that.

JUNE  I can no longer do my own laundry, the washers and dryers here are so big I cannot reach all the clothes in the bottom/back. Thank goodness I have help.

JEANNE  I will never understand how any state can legalize marijuana. This state is starting to talk about it.

JOAN  you know me, for cereal hot oatmeal. Like Real Faith, leave it to a child. I cannot think of any material thing material that would make me turn back. Thank you for all today's goodies.

LLOYD  like you I have a son who has more things saved in his garage for that -just in case he needs them.

Hi everyone on a beautiful, cool and crisp  Tuesday morning.  This will be a laid back day with no need to rush to accomplish anything.  I may make a short trip to Walmart to pick up a prescription for Pat and get a couple of items but other than that plan on staying home.  I need to fix some coleslaw and perhaps a macaroni salad, neither of which is difficult to do.  Most of the morning chores are done except to water the flowers and Pat has had her breakfast.  I know that Pat is feeling a lot better as yesterday she did the washing and helped clean up the kitchen following supper last evening.

Joan, glad you are finally getting some cooler weather.  We are having beautiful weather up this way.  Today is suppose to get about 80 degrees but if the humidity stays down it will be nice.  I know from our experience how thankful we are that we did move close to our son but know it is a big decision and not an easy one.

Hal, I had to put on a sweat shirt this morning to be comfortable as the house is a bit chilled.  However, don't want to turn on the heat at least for a few more days.  I think Texas Roadhouse has great food and it is reasonable in price.

Lloyd, usually new parents have names picked out in advance.  Pat's chiropractor and his wife just had twin baby girls born last week and they weighed about the same as your new great grandchildren.

Jenny, it seems that all of our traditions are now up to being changed.

deAngel, apparently the man who worked on your computer deleted all of your cookies which are used to remember out sign in information.  Once that is done every site you visit where you have signed on will require a new sign in so hope you have all of your passwords handy.

Beverly, I heard about that terrible crash killing the 5 teenagers.  Glad you didn't suffer any significant damage from the Hurricane.  I think flooding is now a real problems for people here in South Carolina as well as in North Carolina.

Shirley, I don't think we will participate in Halloween this year.  Our family room is at the back of our house and we have to go up a fairly long hallway to get to the front door.  I do enjoy seeing the little ones but not the big kids.  I will probably get a bag of candy just in case I change my mind.  Our church sponsors a Trunk and Treat event for children in our church parking lot.

Amy, glad to read your husband is doing well and hope he will soon be in condition to come home and recuperate.

Radioman34

Today at sunset begins the holiest day in the Jewish calendar: Yom Kippur.  Prior to that families enjoy a large meal because following that everyone will fast until sunset on Wednesday; no food, no water.  There will be no radio, television or computer activities either, just a day of prayer and  contemplation.  Given what's going on in our part of the world, perhaps a time of reflection might be a good idea here as well.

JoanFL

Good morning, Gloria.  The cool weather you like so much has finally arrived in your area.  I haven't had stuffed peppers in years.  Ray loved them.  Me--not so much.  I am so glad you have that CNA who does things that you can no longer do.

Larry--Good morning.  It sure is good to read that Pat is gradually feeling better.  Yes--moving to be near children is a big decision.  I made that decision when I moved here and then they moved away.

Good morning, Radioman.  Thanks for reminding us about Yom Kippur.

Bis, I am saving "Thought of the Day". We had a Priest named James H. Miller, and it sounds so much like something he would say. I miss him.

My Dori will be flying in from Idaho tomorrow night. It will be so good to have her home again. Dan and Nancy arrive the following day, and they will be staying with Dori and Gary, so I'm praying she won't be over-tired when entertaining them. She is such a giving personality.

Janie is SO missed. I hope she will return soon.

Gloria, Doing the laundry is really getting to be too much for me. The linens are all done by Rowntree..it's part of my contract, but just taking care of my personal things is very tiring. I can have it done here, but it will cost me. I will have to enquire about the prices.

Bis, reading about how you did your last move, do you ever wish you would have saved particular items. I have a few regrets, about some things I left behind that the family did not want, and cannot be replaced, but I keep saying, "it's only things, things are not important. People are important". and I have to remind myself to agree with that.

I feel this is going to be pretty much of a stay at home type day. I will make myself get out to do some walks, but even after a full nights sleep, I feel so tired. Like I would just like to crawl under the covers and let the world go by. Not a good attitude to have. I better go take my morning dose of medicine…I am getting too careless lately.

Getting ready for my monthly MS social evening, be leaving within the next 20 -30 minutes....R out with the dogs, soon be back...The talk tonight is on our air ambulance....My MS is not too good, stomach bloat like I am 5 to 7 months pregnant...this stomach bloat affects all of my body, including my eyes and head.....Taking a small bag of stuff for their next MS fundraising sale in a couple of weeks...
" There is no present like the time "

JoanFL

June--I think maybe it's time to have someone do your personal laundry.  Once is a long while, I'll think of something I wish I had brought with me, but the thought passes quickly.  The estate sale lady I hired to get rid of the contents did her job and that house full of furniture and "stuff" now resides with somebody else.

Vanilla-Jackie--I hope you find your meeting to be informative.

Good afternoon, on this cool , but sunny day. Fall is here.

I cannot stay long, as my friend from another park, just called and said get desert and coffee ready, as she will be here within the hour bring KFC

Patricia, I want to thank your for suggestion, that's the way I do come in here, but it came up and said I had no messages.  Thanks all others also, I think I am about strighten out, as Gloria said big mess.

Jane and Molly are still missing, Does anyone know if Molly has big rivers near her.  NC is a mess if you watch the weather channell. the river are going to keep riseing  maybe till Sat.

Bis, This last move I made, I just left behind in the Apt., I had only seen this place once, and that was a quick visit as they were still remodeling it, but I knew I would not have a bedroom, nor a full kitchen. I had sent a whole bunch of stuff to Salvation Army too. I use a lot of paper goods instead of dishes, no pots and pans. My kitchenette here has a microwave and tiny refrigerator/freezer. plus my own toaster oven and elec. coffee pot.

Gloria de…….ummmmm, I love KFC. So good to see you back here dear one.

I got my lazy self dressed and went down for lunch. Had a scrumptious barbecued beef sandwich, tater tots, cole slaw, and fresh fruit. Brought half of it home. I just can't eat as much as I used to, so I will have the rest for supper.

We were discussing voting at the lunch table. I get the feeling most everyone at Rowntree are very conservative voters. It makes me feel even more at home.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

June--I still have a single family dwelling--not terribly big--1900 sq.ft., 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, so it took quite a bit to furnish it.  I didn't buy nearly as much cooking utensils as I'd had--do so little cooking.  Your lunch sure sounds good.

Back from exercise and mobility class. Had a good time, lots of laughter and fellowship. It is so encouraging to see people in wheelchairs doing their very best to keep themselves active and finding fun while doing it. I am so proud of them. I will have a couple more walks..have some books to take back to the library, and hopefully enough gumption to take an evening walk. Onward and upward........
