I thought I'd give one last check to see if anyone found Lloyd!  Glad you are safe & only your internet gone haywire, Lloyd.  What would we do without these computers for a week?

Miserable hot again today, I'll be back to talk when my brain quits frying.  :crazy2:

Sweet dreams & God Bless...... I'll turn out the light if everyone is settled down.  No more drinks of water, snacks or trips to the bathroom!  Be quiet now.... shhhhhh~

Good Thursday morning, Everyfriend, on this first day of Fall.  There's breakfast burritos to accompany your coffee or tea. I wish everyone a good day!!

CHUCKLES
Sore Arm

Following a major hurricane, my husband worked long hours clearing the jumble of trees that littered our property. The longer he worked, however, the more painful it became for him to move his right arm. He ignore my pleas to see the doctor until one night he yelped, "Ow! This is getting serious."

As I turned to him in concern, he added, "Now it hurts to push buttons on the remote control!"

Food For Thought

Embedded
By Keith Mannes
Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 6:12-20

Flee from sexual immorality.
1 Corinthians 6:18
Just as storms churn up old, submerged items from the ocean floor, temptations from a woman at work were dredging up long-buried issues for my friend Ron.
Ron was divorced, but long ago he and his wife had given themselves over to some degrading sins. Now, at work, a woman’s advances were causing Ron emotional flashbacks. Some sins bury themselves deep within you.
It’s like taking an alluring piece of cake and pouring a bunch of salt on it. Those grains are in there. It won’t help to try to wipe or wash the salt away. The cake will never be the same.
Sin spoils all kinds of good things in life. And even though Christ’s blood cleanses us and we can enjoy the forgiving grace of God here and now, some of the effects of sin are still embedded in our memory and emotions. They are “in there,” and sin can be hard to resist. It’s as if our own flesh is attacking us (Romans 7:23; Galatians 5:17). This is a very important reason why Paul tells us to “flee” from sin.
I often think that the fact that Ron resisted those temptations at work showed amazing spiritual heroism. Sanctified people do brave and heroic things sometimesâ€"things that would be impossible without God’s grace and help. It’s never easy, but the Spirit gives us strength.
Father, I live in the hope of your transforming power. Give me strength to flee from sin. Thank you, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  We had another good night.  I think Annie is on the mend.  She lost about 3 and half pounds while she was sick but hopefully she can gain it back now that she's eating normally and keeping it down.

Jackie, thanks for the good advice re color.  However, I don't want anyone to be bothered by something I do if I'm able to change what I'm doing.  If I had no alternative, I wouldn't change.  But I have alternatives.

I'll be back later to see what y'all are up to for the day.

Good Morning Everyone. Amy you are very theory Is good to have it working again . I do not know why it took them so long to fix it. came on actually 2 days sooner than they said it would. I lost my good temperament and threaten to take it to congers woman and public commission.don't kno if that helped or not but they had said would not be fixed until Friday.
any way I am glad it is working again  and I will try to post only good  things,

Still raining here.  We have made up for our recent dry spell so it can stop now....for awhile.

The echocardiogram yesterday was actually very nice.  I had a delightful technician and we found so many common things to talk about.  We talked all through the test and then she sat down on the table with me and we talked some more.  I don't know that I have ever enjoyed a medical test as much.  I'll get the report in a couple of days.

Good luck to DH, Amy.  I hope he can be comfortable enough to make it clear through the MRI.  They are a chore to go through but they do give a lot of good information to your health providers.

Jane, you can use any color you want.  I think it makes the Soda Shoppe page look very appealing with the different colors of font.  Glad your fur baby is doing so much better.  I know you were worried about her.

Grocery day and I'll make sure I pick up some apples this time.  Apple Crisp sounds wonderful, Gloria.

So good to see you back, Lloyd, and to know that is was a sick computer and not a sick Lloyd.

I like the Thought of the Day, Joan.  I often wish that our leaders (all of them) would listen to the people occasionally.

A bowl of homemade granola is calling my name.  Make it a good day, all my friends.

larryhanna

Hi everyone on a cloudy morning here in South Carolina.  We had a very short rain shower yesterday afternoon but not enough to do any good.  Today is a full day as need to make a stop at the credit union as I pick up my friend for coffee.  Will then bring him home, and depending on how I am feeling (not very peppy at the moment) I may skip the Wisdom group today as need to get some medicine and other things at Walmart.  I will definitely utilize the electric cart there today.  If I feel up to going to the Wisdom Group will have to stop on the way home or go later in the afternoon.  However, Pat has her last Chiropractic appointment for the week at 4 pm so will just play things by ear today.  We enjoyed our time with Scott last evening.

I appreciate the postings but am going to beg off individual comments today except to say I am also  relieved to see your posting Lloyd and know it was not a medical problem keeping you from posting.

JoanFL

Good morning.  I know you're glad your water problems are fixed.

Phyllis--Good morning.  I've had nice techs administer medical tests, but never one as yours apparently was.   Glad you liked today's "Thought".

Good morning Vanilla-Jackie.

halkel--Hi and bye.

Good morning, Larry.  You do have a full day and hopefully you will find time to rest since you aren't feeling to peppy.

Still morning in my side of the country, so I will say Good Morning to you, Joan, and all the other friends.

I need to get myself moving.  I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon and then I will get to the grocery store.  My DIL, who is the Physical Therapist is off today, so she is taking me this time.  My other DIL, who usually takes me is having a big party on Sat. and she still has some things to do.  So, it worked out well that someone else was available.

My son has a big family/friends party every year.  This is about the 30th or 31st year he has had it.  It just keeps getting bigger and bigger every year.  Hoping for a nice sunny day.  Get to catch up with some friends and family that I don't get to see a lot. Always a fun day with lots of good food.

Hope everyone will have a good afternoon today.

Good morning everyone. Finally had a good night sleep, was nice and cool again.

PATRICIA  Teal is the color I use when I do a birthday greeting here but I also increase the font size.

JOAN  you spend every day here replying to every one and then spend hours a day looking for all you post every morning to start our days.  You deserve more than just a few hours away. Every time Lloyd is not here a couple of days he is in the hospital again. He does way too much and pushes himself to get every thing done.

JANE  I am one the red bothers but by highlighting it I can read it fine. Not complaining but stating what I do. Use what you like. I used blue back in SN but now just stick to black.

LLOYD  so glad you are OK and it was your internet being out.

SHIRLEY  loved your post last night. Your Be Quiet must have been heard around here because I did not hear any thing to disturb my sleep.

JACKIE  to me any summer  fruit combination is wonderful.

JOAN  for the first day of Autumn, last night was down in the upper 50's and today will be in the mid 80's. AC will be on again this afternoon. Now that is a very sore arm when it hurts to push the remote buttons. Good one. Thank you for today's goodies.

AMY  good luck to your hubby with the MRI.

PHYLLIS  would be great is some that abundant rain you are having would fall in drought areas instead. Lately I have come across so many different apple crisp and crumble recipes that sound good but stick to the  one I use. Yesterday added some cranberries and added coconut to the topping.

Joy--Nice that there's sometimes more than one person available to take you to the doctor.  Your son's annual party sounds like fun.  Does everyone bring a dish to pass or does he furnish all the food?

Gloria--My house is cool for sleeping, but that's because of the central a/c.  The local weatherguesser said this a.m. that weather here should cool down by Nov.

Today is Linda's 55th birthday.  How did that happen when I am only 60?:)

...wow, you were only five.....  :o  they sure started early in your neighbourhood.... :coolsmiley:
...yes where does the time go.....seems only yesterday when they were born....

Please wish Linda a Happy Birthday from me....

JaneS

Gloria, you are not the only one who commented on the "red glare".  Several commented that they have to highlight to remove the glare.  I don't want to make things difficult for anyone so I'll just remain neutral.

Joanie, I keep wondering how my kids have become so close to my age and then I remember that I started celebrating "un-birthdays and deducting at some point and they are still adding.  One day, they will pass us by if we're not careful.

I was hungry for something sweet but not up to getting too fancy so I made that cake that you just stir pineapple into angel food cake mix and bake.  I have a container of cool whip in the freezer and that will take care of my craving.  I think I'm going to try Amy's cream tarts over the weekend.  I forgot to ask her if they freeze well.  Maybe she'll see this and tell me.

Annie is definitely better!  She told me it was lunch time today and she hasn't even felt like eating until last night.

I hope you all have a great rest of the day.  I'm not doing much until it's time to pick up TLH and she has an after school activity so I pick her up at 5 and we go to the library. She does love the library!

Joan, I am most fortunate that my one DIL has her own business so she can leave pretty much when she has to.  She is my oldest son's wife and they are the ones that have the party. She had some last minute things to do today, so it worked out good.

Most everyone brings something.  Sometimes it is just something small, but most of the ones who have been coming over the years will usually bring a large casserole, or crockpot full of something, or fried chicken, or salads or desserts.  My son provides pit beef and all the drinks.  They are big wine lovers, so there is always a huge amount of all kinds of wine and different kinds of beer and soda.    It can be well over 100 + people.  They have a horse farm and some of the boarders will come and help with helping the younger  kids ride.  Used to be the guys would have a softball game, but there hasn't been one of those for a while.  Now, that most of the older teens have boy/girl friends, they usually show up with them.  They really never know how many people will be coming.  Most people do not RSVP anymore. Basically, mostly the same ones just show up and know what to bring. Surprisingly, there is always a good variety of food.   And, the little ones have plenty of room to run around.  My other two sons usually take care of doing the hay rides.  Their property borders one of the state parks and there is a trail down through the park that they use for the hay rides.  It is always a nice day and most everyone looks forward to it every year.  Unfortunately, this year several families won't be there due to birthday parties and a  other commitments.  He always has it the last Sat. of Sept., so a lot of people automatically keep that date open each year.   A lot of fun.

I am fortunate that I can usually get a way to the doctor's.  Although, I get so tired of going at times. But, I know I have to keep on, keeping on. LOL  There is a county bus, but you have to go according to their time schedule and it doesn't always work out.  There have been times when I have to leave the my place 2 hours ahead of my appt. and then wait sometimes over an hour to come back.  So, I am fortunate that my DIL can take me most of the time.

I need to start getting ready.

Joy

Good Morning All…….

I am up. I was a slug-a-bed this morning. Did all the essential exercises and massage, prayers, one song, Had an early phone call from son Gary, told him I was still in bed, and he said that was O.K., I should be doing what I felt like doing. Had a nice email from Gr. daughter in McCall, Idaho, so this is turning into a great day.

And Lloyd is back !!!!! Glad you are O.K. Lloyd !

Janie, I like your red messages, that is why I was answering you in red. I found it enjoyable reading. Thanks be to God that Annie is healing.

Hal, thank you for your kind words of healing. I'm doing my best, and I'm sure my dancing days are not over.

Larry, I am sorry you are not having a very good day.I still feel you are doing to much in too many things. Why don't you just close the garage door tightly, do ONLY what is absolutely essential and spend at least three days at home, relaxing completely. Otherwise you are going to need special care yourself.

Joy, still mooring for me here is So.Ca. but I would be very embarrassed answering the door in my p.j.'s. Your son's party sound great. Enjoy it all.

Bis,   :) I pray Linda can stay youthful and vigorous for a long long time. Her work is so important. My baby Gary will be 66 years old in Dec.

Time for me to get dressed....onward and upward.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Lindancer

Good afternoon, on this beautiful day, gentel breeze, not to warm. I am quite tired, but a happy tired,  Mu DIL from Mass. just left to catch the Orient Ferry to New London, Conn. she was here for three enjoyable days.
Joan, yesterday was Linda's birthday (DIL) she was 60. With two other friends I took them  to JR's steak house for and enjoyable lunch. We came back to the house for cake.

Amy, I pray the MRI went better for you hubby.

so glad, Jane to read Annie is feeling so much better.  I know she will gain for wieght back fast.

Gloria, I like cranberries in anything.

Larry, just take it easy, we all worry about you. Hope Pat is feeling better.

Hugs to all my friends.  I have to get ready to watch my one and only soap.  Gen. Hosp.

JaneS, unless it is a light color, I think the most important thing in posting is BOLD, regardless of the color.  Blue is fine and easy on the eyes.

Tom and I just got home from lunch.  He left for a meeting and will be home late.  I brought half of my sandwich home and also sweet potato fries.  I may finish everything for my supper as long as I'll be eating alone.

Now I'm ready for a nap!

Vanilla-Jackie--I most certainly will wish Linda HB from you.  Actually I was 79 last month.

Janie--I like the idea of having "unbirthdays".  That cake is so good--must make one soon.  GREAT that Annie asked to eat.

Joy--That is some big party that your son hosts.  Sounds like there's something for all ages.

June--Your day started nicely with a call and an email from family.  Linda travels so much I don't know how she keeps track of where she should be.  This week she is in Philadelphia, New York City and St. Louis.

Linedancer--Glad you had such an enjoyable time with your DIL there.  It was nice of you to take her and her friends out for a steak dinner.

Mary Ann--I am about ready to go take a nap, too.

We are home and the MRI went great this time!
Hal, he took ear plugs and they gave him earmuffs but because they have to speak to him the ear plugs worked on their own. Now to wait and hear what  the MRI says.

We went to Costco afterwards to pick up a few things and I think half the city was there so I just picked up what I needed and left....

Thank you for your kind thoughts.
