Good Sunday morning, Everyfriend.  There's poached eggs on toast to go with your coffee or tea.  Have a blessed Sunday.

Thanks to Phyllis for her lovely “Music is the Wine” graphic creation which we are using this week.

Chuckles

Purchase

A woman went to the counter to purchase a drinking bowl for her dog. The clerk asked, "Would you like it inscribed 'For The Dog'?"

"It doesn't really matter," she replied. "My husband doesn't drink water and the dog can't read."

Food For Thought

Guarding Against False Doctrine
(By Rocky Henriques)

We have to constantly be on guard against those things which are not right. Fire ants have virtually taken over the southern United States since they were accidentally transported here a few decades ago. They are amazingly adaptable, fiercely aggressive, and multiply seemingly overnight. Worst of all, sprays seem to have little or no effect on them. Scientists finally figured out a way to wipe out an entire colony. Pellets of the ants' favorite food are tainted with a tasteless, odorless poison, and sprinkled around the mound. The worker ants immediately begin gathering up the food and take it down into the heart of the colony, where they unwittingly feed the poisoned pellets to their queen, slowly killing her! When the queen dies, no more workers are produced, so in a couple of weeks the entire colony starves to death.

That is how it is with false doctrine. Those who lack exposure to God's Word to show them what is right lack the ability to discern properly between true and false doctrine, between what is right and wrong. They import it into the heart of the church, thinking it is harmless and even good. In the end, people starve to death spiritually, without even realizing what is happening to them.

A Peanuts cartoon once pictured Lucy and Linus looking out the window at a steady downpour of rain. “Boy,” said Lucy, “look at it rain. What if it floods the whole world?” Linus replied confidently, “It will never do that. In the ninth chapter of Genesis, God promised Noah that would never happen again, and the sign of the promise is the rainbow.” With a relieved smile, Lucy said, “You’ve taken a great load off my mind.” The comic strip closed with Linus saying “Sound theology has a way of doing that!”

Thought of the Day

Good Morning Joan

Phyllis, "Music is The Wine" says it all.   That is a great creation.

Joy

Good morning,  Joan, Jane and Junee.

It still is dark out.  Supposed to be some rain today, but still warm.   Not hot, just warm.

I had a day yesterday just like June's.  Was very lazy and didn't do much at all.  I, too, didn't even get out of my PJ'S.  I hate days like that, but they seem to be happening more often.  Just don't have a lot going on, so I figure, why get dressed. ?? LOL

Hope today will be a more productive one.

Joan, the poached eggs will be a special treat this morning.  I am not usually very successful making a good poached egg.  So, I will enjoy your offerings this morning.

Have a wonderful Sunday.

Joy

I agree, Junee.... a lovely painting! Thank you Phyllis.

Joan, may I have my poached egg in a "mug" with crackers & lots of butter?  I haven't had that in at least 40 or 50 years.  My daughter still fixes it for herself, loved it as a child, as did I. My husband thought it was grosse.

Tom & Tiger in, already had their egg & now need to take care of Lauren & Callie and moi.  I eat a couple pieces of toast, most of the time a hard egg on one slice & grape jam on the other, plus a cup of coffee so I can take my weekly aspirin.  Was not in the mood to sleep last night so only just over 3 hours, FitBit tells me.  These day naps are not a good thing in my world.

Have a Super Sunday, everyone, I've got to find something cooler to wear to church.  The cool temp and dense fog did NOT show up as predicted so clothes I put out are not what is needed.  I am not happy with 90° and feels like 99° for the next few days.  (Whine-whine)

Oops, the "J's" are showing up~  Good morning Joy & Jane.  I made up for you yesterday, Joy, do you mind taking credit for my chopping down the mess in the berm so Joan doesn't give me to many demerits...please?  Jane, you get so many demerits I can't pass mine on to you.  I need to get a new egg poacher, want one easier to clean, used to have the aluminum one that made 3 or 4 at a time.... then we discovered aluminum was bad for us.   I'm going to have to rush.... see y'all later.  Shirley

Good Morning everyone. well you girls are up and at it early again. Joy it is still dark here also, but clear. a few days of warm sun will be welcome to dry my ditch out hopefully to get the water line fixed before our son and family gets here next weaken. Oh I was up eary also but talking across the big pond to peter w on Skype.

Shirley good to see you slipped in while i was posting Have a great day.

Lloyd

Amy

Good morning everyone.

Muggy here this morning after the all day rain we had yesterday. We do need the rain so I am not complaining. Wells will get filled up before freeze up!

A day of rest here today. I tickled the hall walls with a cloth yesterday....(does that count as work ?)getting it ready to paint when I get the urge.

Shirley, you brought back memories to me, I aslo ate my egg in a mug with butter on it...yum.that was so good, must try that again.

Lloyd, I bet you will be happy to be done that line job . Hope your feeling much better now.

Jane good morning...

Phyliss another great and truthful graphic, thank you.

Joan, thank you for breakfast.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Good morning Junee.

Janie--Good morning.

Good morning Joy.  It was 80° and very humid at my house when I first got up, so today is going to be "more of the same".  I have always liked poached eggs.

Shirley--Good morning.  Of course, you can have your poached egg just the way you like it.

Good morning, Lloyd.  For your sake, I hope your area has warm weather so you can finish that water line before company arrives.

Amy--Good morning.  I'd say tickling the walls with a cloth is w--- :).

A humid and foggy morning here, too.  Not too thick but hanging in the tops of the trees.

Thank you for the nice words about the graphic.  I find music very soothing sometimes and turn to it often.

I'm not a poached egg person.  I prefer my eggs "fractured" and on a piece of buttered toast.  And, like Joan said to Shirley, we can have our eggs any way we like them.  :yum:

Going to be quiet here today.  That's ok with me.  The neighborhood is almost deserted.  Most of the neighbors are enjoying time away from home now that the weather has cooled a little bit.

Good morning, Phyllis.  I don't know what a "fractured" egg is, but in cyber you get what you ask for.:)  It's very foggy here, too.

Good Sunday morning - afternoon...

....I too am now finding myself wearing my nightie and fleece dressing gown till 10.30 - 11am....this has never been me but...this seems to be what I am now turning into, not seeing the purpose of getting clothes on for the day ahead but....I reluctantly do...

Hi everyone on this beautiful Sunday morning.  The sun is out and it is still fairly cool here in the low 70's.  I am ready for Sunday School and Church this morning and then will stop to get something to bring home for our lunch as the kitchen is basically closed for business on Sunday's.

Last evening I fixed us Tilapia and steamed cabbage and green beans.  The fish and green beans turned out well but a few of the cabbage leaves had a bit of a singe to them but still tasted fine.  I had not made steamed cabbage before.  I stayed awake late last evening watching the Georgia/ Missouri football game.  It was an exciting game and Georgia got the win by scoring with only about 1 minute to go and then Missouri fumbled and that was the game.

I am rushed for time this morning so will try to hold my comments to only a few.

Sandy, I had one of the antenna's but never really used it so have no advise on the subject.   I do know that many folks, especially in cities, have great success with them.

Hal, I hadn't heard about the fertilizer plant sinkhole in Florida.  I guess the news in our area is more interested in the increase in gas prices due to the break in the line in Alabama.

Jenny, glad your new medication isn't expensive.  That sure sounds like a cute little dog.

Shirley, I am like Cas was in feeling a poached egg is very gross.  The only way I like eggs is scrambled or fixed in something.

Phyllis, I have always loved music and listen to it daily.  I do not like rap music but want something with a tune and words I can understand.  I dislike music that has to have so much noise in the background.  I love piano or organ music.

JoanFL

Good morning/afternoon Vanilla-Jackie.  I usually get dressed as soon as I get out of bed.  I shower at night before I go to bed.  That's another "whatever floats your boat".

Larry--Good morning.  I don't do much cooking these days, but do have to do a minimal amount since there's nobody else to do it.  On Sunday I eat leftovers.

Good Morning, just marking my spot.

Guess the sinkhole didn't bother Joanie since she didn't comment.  Got to rush, church time approaches and I haven't put my "go to meeting" clothes on.

JaneS

Church is over for me.  After church I made a quick trip to the Farmer's market and found the nicest old lady and gentleman (both with a heavy accent of some kind) with a small stand.  I bought some tomatoes and a head of cabbage from them.  He told me that they had just picked all of this yesterday.  And he showed me how to tell if a tomato has just been picked.

Then I did my "hunting and gathering" at WM and came home and put everything away.  I'll have to deal with it (package the meat smaller, cook a few items, shred the cabbage) sometime today.  And that's my exciting day so far.  God be with you, ALL!

Good morning, Callie.

halkel--Good morning.  I am far away from the sink hole.

Janie--Sure wish there was a farm stand near me.  And how do you tell if a tomato has been freshly picked?

Phyll, I really, really like this weeks graphic. Very clever, very artistic, and very true.

Good Morning All. Another new day, another new start. I plan to go down for Church today, and on to Sunday dinner later, then home to do nothing but enjoy the day. There will be football on the big screen this afternoon, but since I have no idea what it is all about I will stay home and entertain myself. I intend to visit our library after lunch and gather up some new books.  I never get bored.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Good morning, June.  I know you like to get to church.  Have a great lunch with your friends.

Gloria

Good morning everyone, back to icky weather today and tomorrow. Might have severe thunder storms late today or over night. Summer has to get it's last hurrah here. Humidity sneaked in during the night. Of course it woke me, turned the fan on and closed the window but did not help so came in here and turned on the AC.  Finally got back to sleep after 4 AM.

LARRY for the little TV I watch paying for the cable is a waste of money. I mostly watch local channels.

JANE  years ago when we all had antennas this are had good reception. We are between Providence and Boston so got the channels from both places. No mountains here and this building is on a hill. Wonder if that wound make a difference.

JUNE  my daughter had a lot of patience with all those kids. She never yelled and when she said not to do something she would explain way. Never -don't do that because I said so.

SHIRLEY  I know no one around here who cut their cable  so no one to ask.

JOAN  my family all had Cox cable but they now have Verizon. This building is wired for Cox and would not let Verizon in. I know I would change if I could. Every year Cox raises their cost. My daughter will have to get the Dish in Arizona. They have tho have all their own power. Self sufficient, like roughing it the modern way. Solar panels, windmill, wells and every thing.

SHIRLEY  I just have basic cable but am stuck with some sports channels, language channels, all news channels, home shopping channels and others I would not waste my time on yet I am paying for them. No Hallmark, AMC, Turner (TNT?) A&E or several others I used to like.

GLORIA de  hope you made it to that cookout yesterday.

PATRICIA  talk show or reality shows and especially the Kardashians are a waste of time.

PHYLLIS another beautiful graphic this morning. Thanks.

JOAN  a poached egg on toast will be a nice change this morning. Good Food for Thought. Another keeper. Thanks you for all today's goodies.

JUNEE  hello.

JANE  good morning to you, too.

JOY  good morning.

LLOYD  good morning.

AMY  you need and deserve a day of rest.

CALLIE

HAL  hurry or you will be late for church.

JANE  would be interested to know how to tell if a tomato was just picked. All I know is I love picking one and eating it ASAP.

Phyllis, I am with you on the egg bit......I always ask for the yolk broken, flatten, stomp on it and throw it on the ceiling...then I will eat it. Surprising how many restaurants don't know who to cook a hard/fractured egg. I have had it come to the table with yolk still not cooked in the middle or the egg is like shoe leather!!!

Gloria--The noon local weather just said we "might" get rain this evening.  In this area Brighthouse/Roadrunner is the only service available.

Amy--Hmmm--another who likes a "fractured egg".  I like the yolk slightly runny.

Checking in from the studio, waiting to entertain the masses :D

angelface555

Good morning from the same old, same old Interior. My sinuses are better,  still sleeping more, and still taking medicine. I can always tell if it is raining because I will wake up in the night with arthritic pain and those bathroom runs are more like carefully shuffling.

Farah is entranced with the winter flocks of small birds. She doesn't "chitter," as most cats do, but the tip of her tail will slash up and then down, as she carefully watches. She is not getting heavier, but longer and now stays out when I have company.

I hope everyone is having a great day!

Shirley

Okay, Phyll, I'm dying laughing at your "fractured" egg..... Cas used to say that I vulcanized mine.  I fry in a little skillet with tad of real butter, make sure the yolk is fractured & flat before I flip.  Folds into a single slice of toast & even better with a little handful of finely shredded cheese melted before folding.   I love scrambled eggs, hard boiled, egg sandwiches....& poached.... as long as that yolk & white is firm as can be.  McDonalds does a fine job of doing my eggs well done, at least the ones I visit more than once~

My 3 hours + a few minutes is not enough sleep so am thinking of a nap before lunch but notice it is lunch time already.  Where did the morning go???

Lindancer

Good afternoon alittle on the warmer side then it has been. Humidity is 97.  Like Gloria we are suppose to have showers to night and to morrow.

I am so tired right now.  Yesterday we did go across the street f or a cook out.  Genny and I came home after 9.  She thought it best she spend the night, as she had and hour drive home, and she had a few drinks.  So this morning we went out for breakfast, which I enjoyed, have not done that in over a year. Went to Friendlies and it was packed.

She just left, so I am going out in the Florida room, put my feet up and read the paper.  Maybe a book later.

Loved the graphic Phyllis.  thanks

Joan, just say HI, and thanks for all you do to keep us going.
