Hi Joan
No buses to the Isle of Man then  :)

Kelly

phyllis

Thanks, Joan.  Me at age 18 months.  Probably the only picture of myself that I have ever liked.   :2funny:  No braids then either.

Sorry you are having Gallery problems, too, Bubble, but glad to know that it isn't just me. ;)

Kelly--My housekeepers come next week.:)

I am very lucky now: my caregiver from Ceylon is  doing a wonderful cleaning job these days, in preparation of Passover.   It is a relief not having to do it any more. He only has some difficulty in folding the washing lol.

so_P_bubble

Phyllis, I just noticed the avatar picture.  You really have not changed much.  I would have recognized it as you even without the posts. Good bone structure.

phyllis

And chubby cheeks.   ;)  That hasn't changed much either.    ::)

Sorry if I mislead folks about the edit and delete buttons on the gallery photos.  If you need help removing or editing a picture in the gallery, let me know and I'll see if I can do anything about it.

Hi everyone.  It is a cloudy morning and we had a little rain a hour or so ago.  Yesterday we ended up with a little over 4 1/2 inches of rain in about 24 hours.  Needless to say things are a bit soggy here.  It is to get up to only 70 this afternoon and we are to see the sun.  We just stayed in all day yesterday.  Not much on the agenda for today.  I do need to make a quick trip to Walmart to replenish the breakfast drink I have each day.  I am looking forward to watching the two games of the NCAA Final Four that will be on this evening.

Mary Ann, I know we are missing Molly's postings.  I have her email address so just sent her an email with the links to the two discussions that I know she posts on often and telling her she would have to re-register.

Bubble, sure hope you will be able to get someone to look at that water problem today as water can do so much damage so quickly.

Amy, your road trip with the washouts sure brings back some memories of my childhood as we lived in the country and for many of those years we just had a dirt road with two or three areas that would wash out and in winter we had to deal with bad ruts in the road.

Lloyd, glad you could get some R&R yesterday.  I see the spell checking is once again working as things get back in order here.

JaneS, Pat watches a lot of programs on the two Hallmark channel and they are only available in the more expensive Dish packages.  I sure wish we could select the channel we want and not have to pay for so many that we never use.

Sun, glad you made it back.

Phyllis, I also was able to post a new picture in the Gallery but it posted sideways so wanted to delete it and could not find anyway to do so.  There must be some more setting the Administrators will need to do in order to give us that ability or I am just missing something.

Mary Ann

Good morning from Grand Rapids.  My thermometer reads 35 degrees right now and from the Weather Channel, we are to have snow today.  If that is true, it would be this evening as things will warm up a bit during the day.  Actually, the sun is shining and it looks like the start of a nice day.

I finally finished my income taxes, sent them in by e-file and I've had word that both were accepted.  Now I can get on to other things, but I don't know what those will be.  I have showered and washed my hair and now I am waiting for my body and hair to dry.  I'll try to be dressed by 10 am.

I tried to put a weather thing after my name and got a link to a very complete weather info for my area.  It was easy enough to put it in, but I cannot delete it.  I'd like to substitute the link for Grand Haven.  I'll continue to work on it.

LarryHanna - yes, I am afraid of further damage and that is why I closed the main since last night.  I have a big saucepan full of water and full pails in both bathrooms for what is needed.  It is a bit primitive but at least it stopped leaking until I can get hold of the plumber tomorrow.  Shabbat is sacrosanct here and unless one is ready to pay a fortune, no one  is available.

halkel

Good Morning Everyone!

Sunny, bright, no wind morning.  But it was cold enough that I got up and put the heat on and crawl back into bed until the house got the chill out.

Sun happy to see you back.  We are getting close to everyone being back home.

Hope everyone has a good day.

so_P_bubble

Hal, any idea how many we were before? I see now in the members list that we have a total of 74.

MaryTX

Good morning.....

The sun is shining, the sky is a brilliant blue and it's 46°.  It should get up to 71° later today and low to mid 80s next week.  My kind of weather ;D.

On my way to the grocery store for my main shopping trip of the month.  I hate to shop and I'm exhausted when it's over, but it's easier for me to do the majority at once, and just have a couple of short trips the rest of the month. Cheaper too, I'm not tempted as much :).  My sister shops at least every other day, sometimes daily!  She reminds me of when I was a grocery cashier.  We had the same people come in first thing in the morning for breakfast items, noon for lunch items, and then late afternoon for supper items :).

I still haven't heard from Jackie.  Hope she made it thru the move okay.

Good morning everyone, well my daughter is back in San Diego, got back last night.. Of course I was waiting for her to get on Skype and tell me they were back.

KELLY  Moghrey Mie to you but for you it is most likely afternoon where you are. Raining here this morning. Thanks for the lesson.

MARY ANN snow in the forecast here tomorrow. Lke you I have not tried those ricing things some markets have. I would be afraid of hitting someone. It is impossible for me to walk around a store anymore. Cannot walk around in here without my rollator.

JOAN  I am sure you have a lot more to learn on this new site that we do.

JENNY  it is raining and tomorrow we will wake to snow. Yuck.

AMY  glad you had a fun day yesterday.

CHIA  glad you make it.

LLOYD  I better stop talking and start catching up on reading all the posts.

JOY  that is the way I got mine in, too.

SUN  I was beginning to worry about you. Glad you made it.

JOAN  a blueberry strudel will be good. Give it Your All is a story to make everyone think. Another keeper. Good quote, food today is not like our ancestors had.
Thank you for all you do to find the goodies for us every day.

BUBBLE  stick around the SS long enough and you will find Joan has something good for us to eat every day. Since you cannot send some sun to me on this rainy day you could send me a picture of what a sunny day looks like.

PHYLLIS  I seldom used the Gallery before and have not checked it out since we are back. Love the avatar you are showing now. So cute.

LLOYD  don't give up. You are not the only one having trouble with pictures and they cannot blame it on head knocks either.

AMY we have what the weather people call an Alberta Clipper coming in over night. Since you don't live in Alberta I cannot blame you for sending it but you are a Canadian so PLEASE stop sending us snow.

KELLY  I had to do some of my own housework yesterday. My housekeeper called in sick.

JOY  I had my fan running all night and it was still too warm here. Could not open windows because the rain was hitting them. Did not want it coming in. AC's cannot go into the windows yet. There are 52 apartments in this Senior building and there are 4 washers and 4 dryers. Usually you can always find an empty one. BUT there are 2 people who wait till they really have a lot to launder and they will use all of them. Then a few have trouble sleeping so go down and do their laundry in the middle of the night.

KELLY  no buses to the Isle of Man? Gee I was going to look into a bus trip there.    :2funny:

BUBBLE  folding clothes, only problem I have is teaching the housekeeper how to fold sheets. I hate wrinkles in them. Not much storage here so everything has to be folded neat to fit into place.

LLOYD  you are so right. Nice to see the SS so busy once again.

LARRY  wow that does not look like the Larry I saw every day in here. Looking good my friend. I feel that way with Cox cable too. I am not interested in the different language channels, I am an American so expect my language on all of the channels in MY country. I am not interested in the sports channels yet have to pay for them.

MARY ANN  I have not even thought of or looked to find the weather thing yet.

BUBBLE  so often when something like the water leaking happens on week ends when no one is working or it will cost a mint to pay for.

HAL  warm here and raining, how about we exchange out weather?

BUBBLE  you mean that only 74 have found their way back to S&F?  Not near as many as before. Waiting for the card shop to start up. With only the 2 of us posting there maybe they will drop it?

Kelly--Nope.  No bus.

Phyllis--That is a darling picture of you, for sure.

Bubble--My housekeepers are a husband and wife team, and they do an excellent job.

Lloyd--Yes, it is more active--at least here in the SS.

Hi Jeanne Lee.

Good morning, Larry.  We have had rain showers on and off all morning.  I hardly ever watch sports, but I will be watching the Syracuse/North Carolina game.  Not only are we from Syracuse, but Ray is a SU grad.

Mary  Ann--I never could put that weather thingy in properly.  Guess I need help.  Yuck--snow.  At least you don't have to shovel.

Good morning, halkel.  My a/c has been running non-stop for several weeks.

MaryTX--Good morning.  I have paid a lady to grocery shop for me for quite some time.  Next week I am going to start using SHIPT--a service in conjunction with Publix grocery.  I have the app on my computer and iPad.  I can build a list all week and turn it in with one click when I am ready and the order is delivered within an hour.  There is no charge for delivery if you purchase at least $35.  It costs $100/year to belong.

Gloria--Good morning.  Glad Regina got safely back to San Diego.  I am happy when folks enjoy my daily "offerings".

Good morning back to you, Kelly.

I have been with S&F a very long time, and with the original Senior Net before that.  I was one of the first ones when that group first started.  A very long time ago. I spend a lot of time reading a lot of the boards, but don't always write anything.

You have a good day,.

Joan, do you remember when the original Senior Net first started?  I know it must be about 20 years, or more. I made friends with Sylvia and Bobbie right away on the Fibromyalgia board.  That was when they had a different board for different medical problems.   I don't have Fibro, but I had a friend who did, and I had read about the Senior Net group in an article in the Sunday paper.  It was just getting started at that time.  I went to the Fibro board to get some information for my friend, and Sylvia was so welcoming and encouraged me to keep coming back.  We became very good friends over the years.  Also with Bobbie and several others at the time.  I also posted in Boot's Tid Bits, which was so much fun.   I really didn't get into your discussion that often until the original site closed down and the new Senior and Friends started up.  Bobbie and I  talked about how long ago that the original Senior Net started and I have forgotten now.  That was when a lot of the different U.S. states had their own board.  Pat Howe and I started the one for Maryland.  We became friends through that board.  Had some really good times way back then.

Good afternoon, it is still warm, but been raining all morning.  I have been up since 3:30, as my DIL left to drive to Tenn. Of course I am mentally making the trip with her.  She arrived yest erday morning from Mass., by way of the Orient Ferry. which is and hour and ahalf ride, but it save time driving into the city, and then out here on LI.
she took a new picture of me yesterday, but did not have luck putting it in here. I know I will never get the temp. right.

We are suppose to have snow to morrow and Monday. Yesterday got to 70.

Gloria, before Dennis was born I lived in and apartment across from a FD. Cyriel was on the Night shift, at Grumman.  So I would get up and watch all the fire engines leave.  I was told, if you live across from the FD, you will have a boy.   ;D

June, one time it took me nearly a month, to get strighten out with JL cards after, I had paid, they were telling me I had to call and office in England.

Glad to see you Sun and Lloyed.

I am really, tired, but I can not go back to bed in the middle of the day.  I have too many ringing my bed durning the day.  I still can not gett spell check to work, and I am one that needs it.

Gloria, I do hope the card discussion gets started soon.  It will give me the necessary push to create again.  Right now I feel lazy, just posting here and there. I am not usually that talkative :o

June Drabek

Jeanne and Rammell, all these messages have various addresses that i have never seen before in my life. and the messages themselves all come back coded so I do not know what they say. If you like I can forward  you one so you can see what I am talking about. There was well over a hundred of them….

Janie, you sound about as disgusted as I am. I think I am going to spend the day in bed. I mean it…I am having shortness of breath just sitting here.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

JoanFL

Joy--I don't remember when SN first started--but am sure Jeanne Lee or Pat do.  I started soon after it started.  I don't often see Sylvia post in S & F and I never have seen Bobbie post.  Occasionally I do see posts made by Boots on Facebook.

Lloyd--I'll bet your granddaughter can help you.

Linedancer--I hope to see your new avatar soon.  I imagine spell check has to be manually turned on by the Webmaster.

Bubble--Did you ask Pat or Jeanne to open a PSP or card discussion?

June--Sorry you are having mail trouble.

It looks like I have finally found my way to a safe harbor for this  brief message..There have been all kinds of good Samaritans out there who helped me get this far and I publicly want to thank them..I would never have been able to do it alone..

so_P_bubble

I did Joan.  I have just sent a message to Jeanne, in case she did not receive my previous request.
I don't want to bother Pat as I am sure she must be very busy.

so_P_bubble

Oh Chia of the white tulips, I am so glad to see you back.  I was sorry I was not much help, especially knowing how distressful it can be to be kept out.

Now all is well and I look forward to ... a trivia challenge?  I hope that discussion too can be revived.  We  all enjoyed that.

Joy

Joan,  Bobbie is not real well.  I talked to her a little over a week ago, and she said to say Hello to all her friends here.   And,  I do see Sylvia put things on Facebook.   We used to talk on the phone every so often, but haven't talked to her for a while. I really need to get in touch with her.  She went through a rough period after Al passed away, but from her posts on FB,  she seems to be doing better.  She still has health problems. She was a long-time poster in the BB forum and after Al passed away, she was having trouble getting back into the boards.  With all the changes now, I am sure she hasn't found her way here yet.  I will try to remember to get in touch and see if I can help her get back.
