Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Jeanne Lee

Hi everyone. My name is Ken Corson.  Jeanne Lee is my Mom.  I wanted to let her friends here know that my Mom is in the hospital.  As many of you know, my Mom has been ill for a number of years. She suffers from COPD.  She's been doing relatively poorly recently and I was busy getting the wheels rolling to move her into a Nursing Home. I was here last Friday and she was in very good spirits and actually looking forward to this new chapter in her life.

I came up to see her yesterday to finish dotting "I's" and crossing "T's" to get the show on the road. When I saw her yesterday, I was floored as she had gone downhill VERY dramatically in a very short period of time. She has had a DNR for quite some some, and after consulting with the doctors here at the hospital, we agreed that keeping her comfortable was really the only thing that could be done, so ......... here we are.  She is comfortable.  I was frankly surprised that she made it through last night. She is a stubborn and tenacious lady, but she is tired ....... so very very tired.  The fight is over and she wants to be with God.

She has been pretty involved in this web site for some time and it gave her a GREAT deal of joy helping other Seniors navigate both this site and the internet in general.  She also made MANY friends here and that also gave her so much happiness. I'm terribly sorry to deliver this news in an area of the forum that is supposed to be fun, but I wasn't sure where to connect with all of you wonderful folks.

I'm sitting next to her now.  She is so peaceful.  If you are religious, feel free to pray for her. If not, please, wish her luck on the journey on which she is about to embark.  She's been my Mom for 65 years and I will miss her terribly.

if anyone wishes to contact me for any other information, I can be reached at
kencorson1952@gmail.com

Lastly, I just want to thank EVERY ONE OF YOU FOR BEING HER FRIEND.

Sincerely,
Ken Corson

Dear Ken - Your Mom was the first person to welcome me, when I joined Senior Net, way back in 1997.  She helped me get started, and even gave me a "job" to do in one of the folders.  Even though we never met in person, I feel like she is an old friend.  She is a kind and generous woman, and it's been my pleasure to know her for the past 20 years.

Ken.....

Thank you so very much for letting us know
that Jeanne Lee is in the nursing home being
taken good care of with her family by her side.

She is going to be missed by all of us "Old Friends"
who have known her for many, many years
and appreciate  all the help that she has
given  us  when our computers fail us and
our technical expertise goes on vacation.

We were so glad to have Jeanne Lee
to depend on to set us straight and
get  us  back in touch with our
"window to the internet world"...

I miss her and wish her a
"fond farewell and following seas"
on her next incarnation.

   :smitten:  Bye Jeanne Lee !  :smitten:

To Ken Corson...

I think you would be hard pressed to find anyone on this website that didn't consider Jeanne Lee a good and faithful friend.  I discovered her helpful hand many times and I hope I thanked her properly for all she did for me.  I'm sure heaven is prepared for her coming and she will be welcomed by all those who have gone before.  I thank you for taking the time to let us know what is happening.  I have been concerned and she has been in my prayers daily since she has not been visiting with us.  If she knows, I hope you are letting her know how much she is already missed on these forums.  WE LOVE HER!

Ken, your Mom is more like family than friend.  She has always been there for all of us.  May she rest easy and have joyful welcome in God's home.  She will be welcomed with open arms.

May all your family be blessed and the comfort of God's love be with all of you.

Ken,
thank you for letting us know about your mother. Seniors and Friends will not be the same without her presence and helpful attention. Jeanne Lee taught me so much and with unending patience...
I missed her when she was absent but trusted she would be back after a time and shepherd us as always.
May Jeanne rest in peace. May you and the family find comfort in knowing how warmly she will be remembered by all on this site.

Jeanne Lee, has been a true friend to all of us who have become "family" here on S&F.  She is facing this final journey with the same bravery that she has faced the challenge of dealing with serious health issues for many years now.  We will miss her very much.

I am sad hearing about Jeanne. Have known her since the old Seniornet. Couldn't count the number of us that she has helped over the years. How sad we all have been not seeing her in here for awhile. We were all pulling for her to get well and come back.
We now know that she is soon to be leaving us. We all thank you for letting us know that she has you there by her side. She knows now that we are all praying for her.

Ken,I just got home from several days away, so sorry to read about Jeanne Lee but thankful she is getting the help she needs and not having to suffer.  We have all benefited from her help with computers.  Whisper in her ear that WE ALL love her dearly and while we wish she could come back to be with us, I know for a fact that we will enjoy each other when we share God's rewards.  May God give you & all the family that will miss her here on earth, strength and peace for the days ahead.  Thank you for bringing us word about her condition, and please, let her know she is missed.
