My family has come and gone and that was the highlight of my day.  The girls did not get fussy until time to leave and we know they will be asleep before too many miles.  Ellie is the more outgoing of the two and Jo more quiet.  They found the toys the cat doesn't play with so they had toys.  Sue arrived first with the girls and it wasn't long after that James and Alicia showed up.  Sue had the girls so James and Alicia could do some arranging of their new-to-them home.  I think they have been in that house about a month now.

For Christmas, I had a picture made with pictures of all of the family and the picture is on an end table.  Ellie went to the table and pointed out those she knew, like her parents, Jo and her, Dot, Tom and me.

Things are quiet now as everyone has left.  I may try to get in a nap, but if I don't, I'll make up for one tonight.  Oh, while they were here, the cat went behind the couch; he's not used to a lot of people, nor is he used to a group of strangers.  The girls saw him, but they did not approach him.

So much for the cooler weather we've had for a few days. It was in the mid-90s this afternoon. For a change the sun shone nearly all day........no rain

Mary Ann - Having  the little ones around is fun but can be tiring. One of these days soon I'm going to make a tuna melt. It always sounds so good.

Jean - I'm happy to hear your niece with cystic fibrosis is doing so well. I know they've come a long way with treatments.

Patricia - We have plenty of moose in Vermont but even more in Maine. About 15+ years ago my daughter hit a moose on the interstate near Saco, Maine. It was night-time and all four of her children were asleep in the car. Fortunately she had a big van. The moose died and the van was totaled but she had only minor injuries. The moose came right through the windshield on the driver's side. Took weeks before she would drive again. Several people have been killed across VT, NH and Maine.

Jackie - A friend who will take you to church when she doesn't go herself is a very good friend! You are lucky to have her. Hope it made for a nice Sunday.

MarsGal - I had my first "do it yourself" day with the vest. It will save me trips to the doctor.

Sandy

Good Morning Everyone,
from the sunny and pleasant rocky
coast of Maine.

I am glad that the weekend  is over,  I
always like weekdays the best.

Hopefully the bad news is behind us
for a while.  I find it all very
depressing.

Good news would be a cure for the
bad news we have been suffering.

Sandy

Mary Ann

Sandy, I agree with you about it being better to hear good news, but it seems the bad news makes the headlines and there is more bad news than there is good news.

We're starting out to have a nice day and I hope it continues.  I like being able to sit on my deck in the evening, just drinking it all in.

I love Sandy's "rocky coast of Maine" greeting because it makes me think of the year Jim and I were on a tour in New England and we were at the Portland Head Lighthouse where it was very rocky.  We have the Pictured Rocks in the UP but I am so far from them.

Tom has a double funeral to attend today in Fremont; the parents of a very good friend.  Both were ill and the deaths were not a surprise, but the closeness of them was.

Mary Ann

Joy

Still morning here for a little while longer. Pretty slow this morning.

It is another pretty sunny day.  Still calling for scattered showers, but so far, none have reached our area.

It was nice sitting out yesterday.  Sun was not too hot and it was a nice little breeze.

I did sleep better  last night and feel better this morning.  Only an little slow getting going.

I hope to get a few more chores done that I have not felt like doing. One will be to wash my kitchen floor.  And, write up a grocery order.

I  am hungry for something sweet, so might try to make something for dessert.

Hope everyone will have a good day.

Good morning from the very wet and depressing Interior! Some flooding here but only in low lying areas. I think we're beginning to sound like a prime episode of the "Perils of Pauline." remember those? She was always getting tied to those train tracks and it was always to be continued. My cold is better but I've got to go out and renew my ID so I hope it doesn't take another hit!

Beverly, it is the same here with moose kills. There is a law that only nonprofits can salvage the meat of those kills such as homeless shelters. There is an iconic photo from some years back of a Volkswagon bug with the shocked young female driver,(She was speeding); and a dead moose seemingly sitting up in the passenger's seat.

Jean, I'm so looking forward to the winter for perhaps the first time ever!

Things continue on the same here.  AJ is still in the hospital, and will stay probably until tomorrow or Wednesday.  He is doing better than his doctor expected, considering his age.  He feels good, and doesn't need any pain medication at all.  This doesn't surprise me. He's one of the fortunate few, who rarely suffers pain of any kind, no matter the circumstances.

Shelley and Claire are still here, and it's pretty darned hectic around here.  As much as I love my kids and grandkids, I'll be glad when AJ is back, and everyone else goes home!  Saturday night we went to The Diner, here in town, for our dinner.  Imagine my surprise to see a Tuna Melt on the menu!  Of course I ordered one, but I was disappointed.  :(  Very inferior to those that I remember from the past.  I only ate half of it, and Shelley ate the other half for lunch yesterday.  She agreed that it was nothing more than a toasted tuna sandwich.

Other things happening here as well, but nothing that can't wait until later.  I'll try to write more after I've been to the hospital.  Looks like you're all ready to start a new week?
So far, Good Morning, to Mary Ann, and Sandy - Joy and Patricia!  Hope to see the rest of you here throughout the day.  :)

Mary Ann

Marilyn, I'm sorry you were disappointed with the Tuna Melt.  The bread on ours is not toasted in a toaster, but toasted on a greased grill and there is a difference.  The filling is tuna, mayo, red and green peppers, onion and I don't know what else.  I am sure there is seasoning of some kind and Dot and I both like them.  I have been to other restaurants, including another branch of the Cholesterol Pit, where I did not like it.  So I think the cook makes the difference.  And from different restaurants, different ingredients.  We can't win.

I hope AJ is released soon so your life can get back to normal.

I have made up my mind that I will go to Indps sometime in September or October.  I must check my appointments so I can see how my free time fits in with their schedules.  I'd rather go down there than have Tom H come up here because by my going down there, I will see everyone who is available.  I don't know why anyone who does almost nothing has to hunt for time to do something pleasant.

I just had a reminder for a haircut tomorrow at 9:15 am.  It's been six weeks since my last cut and I think my hair hasn't grown as much as usual.  I could go another week - but I won't!

I turned on the air a while ago, but I haven't heard it go on.  I have the thermostat set at 76 degrees.  I know if I set it at 75 degrees, it will go on, but I think that's a bit cooler than I want it.  It's 78 degrees outside.

For two years, a ship Arthur M Anderson has been in dry dock for refurbishing and today it came down the St Clair River for the first time.  I don't know about the residents along the water, but people on Chat were very excited.  I saw it "live" in Algonac.

Tom should be home about 3 pm or so from his double funeral.  While his friend lives in Phoenix AZ, I think he'll find it hard to realize he lost both parents in a week.

Mary Ann

FlaJean

It is cooler here today—-79F and a little overcast.

Marilyne, I know just what you mean.

Patricia, I hope your trip out doesn't cause you a set back in your health.

Joy, good to hear you are feeling better.

Mary Ann, we went to bed early and got up late.  I didn't really rest good last night.  I need to make a grocery list and get a few things at the store.  So many things that don't agree with one or the other of us anymore makes our menu harder to figure out.

I see the sun is shining.  Hope everyone has a good day.

Mary Ann

Jean, I have to start a grocery list too.  Tom and I both make entries and when he is out of something necessary, he goes to pick up the groceries.  While I enjoyed going through the store to see what is available, I do like the online shopping.  Mostly young women do the picking of the products and I have been satisfied with their choices.

It is in the high 80s now.  My a/c runs a lot and I connect it to the Peak program I signed for.  When I think the a/c has run too much, I turn it off until it is warm enough for me to turn back on.  I have a fan by my window in the bedroom which cools my room so I turn off the a/c for the night.

Now, I think I'll look at the grocery options.

Mary Ann

MarsGal

Mary Ann, I was out most of the morning yesterday and completely forgot that Arthur M. Anderson was on its way toward the St. Clair River. Sorry I missed it. I'll keep a lookout for it when it heads back. I haven't yet looked into why it was in dry dock, either.

Beverly, I hope the chest vest is working well for you. Interesting devise.

FlaJean

MarsGal, you are an early riser.  I'm not a morning person but for years I had to get up early out of necessity.  I was so happy when I retired and no longer had to rush around in the early morning.  I enjoy my lazy mornings.

Mary Ann, I got my list made and, of course, added to it at the grocery store.  I've never liked to cook and part of my list contained some Marie Callender TV dinners, I'm ashamed to admit.  Good thing my husband doesn't mind.  My mother lived with us for 30 years after my dad died, and she always did the cooking.  We used to sit down and make a menu for the week and she loved to cook and made it look so easy.

Marilyne, I know you'll be happy to have AJ home from the hospital and it's good to hear that he is doing well.

Joy, last year I had a spell where I was very tired and found my blood count was low.  I took iron tablets for awhile and it made a big difference.  Lately I've begun to feel tired and went back on the iron pills.  I have to go for a blood test before my next appointment the first week in Sept.  I sure hope you are feeling better.

I make birthday and anniversary cards for my family and we always include a check.  I need to get busy as Gigi will be having a birthday next month.  It is something I enjoy doing and gives me a creative input and makes it a little more personal.  Our family is so spread out—from the east coast to the west coast and  British Columbia.

Have a good day everyone.

Marilyne

Good morning everyone:  Same old story here.  AJ is still in the hospital, with a few problems to be resolved before they let him come home.  I won't bore you all with the details, but will just say that  We're hoping for tomorrow.

MARSGAL - Looks like your post was a couple of hours ago, and nobody has been here since?  I've lost track of the ships on all the cams this past week, so I can only hope to catch up in the future.  The St. Clair and the Marine City cams seem to be the busiest, and most likely to catch something happening when I look in.  The Duluth Canal Cam is still my favorite, because I enjoy all the crowds of people and the "horns and bells"!  It's been a while since I've been here at the right time, to catch anything on camera.

BEVERLY - Like MarsGal, I'm also interested in your chest vest.  Just amazing the devices that have been invented to help people with breathing problems - both day and night.

JOY - keep us posted about your UTI?  I'm having the same problem, in that my UTI is not completely gone.  It's back to "low grade", but I've taken three different meds for it. I've had a bad reaction to all, and I just can't face another one right now.

PATRICIA - I cringed when I read what you wrote about the moose and the Volkswagen!  We still have a VW Bug, so knowing how light weight they are,  I can agree that the woman who was driving, was extremely fortunate to survive.

JEAN - I hope you had a better night last night?  I hate the restless nights, but most of them seem to be that way lately.  Seems like my nights have been plagued with unpleasant dreams lately.  Not nightmares, but the kind of dream that makes you feel uneasy when you wake up!

Mary Ann - I'm going to have to start the online grocery ordering, as soon as Shelley goes back home.  AJ loved to go to Safeway, but it will be a long time before he will be able to walk through a store, or carry a heavy bag of groceries! I can still go okay, but I have to stick with only enough food for one day, or I can't manage getting the bags upstairs to the kitchen.  I'm hoping that the grocery delivery person will carry the bags up the stairs for me?

JEAN - I saw your message after I posted, so just want to say Hello, and comment on the Marie Callender dinners.   Marie C, was first cousin to AJ's father!  The grew up together in Minnesota and North Dakota.  He lost track of her over the years, until she opened her first couple of restaurants here in CA.   (In 1960's I think?)  Interesting story that I will  go into some other time.

Mary Ann

Marilyn, I hope AJ is able to come home tomorrow.  I know he'll be happier there too, as well as you will be to have him home.

Our online shopping does not include delivery, although the Meijer store does provide it.  I prefer Family Fare so we place the order online, Tom picks a time to pick it up, the store calls when it is ready and Tom goes after it.  So our delivery service does bring it into the house and even puts the groceries away in the cupboards, refrigerator and/or freezer.

The Algonac cam shows the ships at a distance and is not so interesting, but I know if I've missed a ship at Marine City, I can wait about 10 minutes and see it at Algonac.  What has been most interesting to me at Algonac has been the high water splashing on the walk beside the river.  The river seems to be at record height this year and they think the water has stopped rising now.

I haven't watched the Duluth canal much because I never seem to look at the schedule at the right time.  I enjoy watching that location for the horns too but sometimes the ships will "salute" at both or either Port Huron or Marine City.  The camera people have gotten to know the pilots of the ships and call them by cell phone.  You learn a lot from the Chat sessions.

Marilyn, that is interesting about Marie Callender being a cousin of AJ's father.

MarsGal, were you ever able to see the Arthur M Anderson?

Jean, you were fortunate that your mother liked to cook and cooked for you.  My dad took up most of the cooking after Mother died.  Most of the time both of us were working and he got home earlier, so he fixed meals during the week but I did the weekends - and it was often roast beef on Sundays and we ate off that the rest of the week.  No eating out for us, never thought of it!

It was haircut time this morning and Jan joined us.  Her hours with her new job allow her some flexibility so she can join us.  It is a good way for us to keep connections with her.

I think I've written my usual book, so I'll try to leave some for next time.  Besides I want to turn on the a/c before it gets too warm in here.  I turned it off for the night and slept well.  It's cool in the lower level for Tom.

HELLO from the air as I am flying from Boston to Denver 🛩

Thanks to Dr. Dave, I am using his WiFi, allowing me to catch up with you all.

I have been very busy with family, so I have not been on line much at all, and I have to say I have missed catching up with you all.

I do hope AJ is doing well after his surgery, MARILYNE.  My thoughts and prayers have been with you both.  I hop he is going to be home soon.

This is a FULL FLIGHT and the gentleman sitting next to me is a BIG GUY, so I am having a hard time typing😩🤪

I hope to catch up with the posts, but I am going to send this before I loose it.

No, Mary Ann, I missed Arthur. I hope to catch it next time. I know they were pretty excited about it being back in operation, but I wonder why it was in dry dock. New engines? Hull refurbishing? I expect it has a nice new paint job. This morning I did get to see a coast guard cutter (#102). James A. Barker sliding past Marine City as I type.

Mary Ann

MarsGal, what I heard about the Arthur M Anderson was it was in dry dock for "refurbishing" and I think it was out of service for two years.  I had never heard of the ship until everyone got excited about its return.

Mary Ann

MarsGal

Mary Ann, I was over on YouTube doing some "snooping". Arthur M. Anderson was the ship that reported the Edmund Fitzgerald was missing. I guess that is its claim to fame. I found this and want to listen to it when I get to my tablet or the other computer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0Nk7Ou6YUg Should be interesting bit of history.

Joy

I am really late getting in here.  I had a little burst of energy when I first got up.

After breakfast I did straighten up a bit and then finally unloaded the dishwasher and washed up some dishes in the sink.

Then I baked a pan of brownies.  I was craving something "chocolate ".   And, brownies were my lunch.

I finally stopped and sat down and that was the end o my work.  But, I get so tired of standing and once I sit down, that seems to be my downfall.  There is always tomorrow.

Marilyne,  When I was at the doctor;s last week,  they did a culture and when it came back, it showed NO UTI, but I was still having the symptoms.  It seems there was still bacteria, so now I am taking a low maintenance drug for 3 months.  It is called HIPREX. I have an appointment on Oct. 31.  Not sure if I will still stay on it, but I hope so.  It is not an antibiotic, but helps with the bacteria. They do not like to give antibiotics too long, as you can get immune to them. I also take an probiotic (Walmart brand) a cranberry capsule and eat yougurt and trying to drink more water.  The doctor said that that the cranberry juice doesn't really help as most of the brands are a combination of a blend and not pure cranberry juice. The capsules are more concentrated. I think  maybe a health food store may sell the pure cranberry juice, but I imagine that it has to have some kind of a sweetener.  So far, it does seem to be working.  .

I sure hope you can get some relief soon.  It is sure isn't fun !

I sure am glad that your husband will be coming home tomorrow.  That will give you some relief. I don't think there is anything more tiring than to sit in a hospital room all day.

I need to look for some dinner  Hope everyone has a nice rest of the evening.

Stopping in to say Good Night. Yesterday I had an appointment with the eye doctor. They took pictures of my retinas, etc. I have regular check ups for the M. D. Still dry, which is a very good thing. Had an uncomfortable day with my eyes being dilated. They were still dilated when I went to bed.

A nice day today but hot. Then we had our usual showers later in the day.

Jenny - Hope the rest of your trip went well. It's always nice to get home!

Good night Mary Ann, Marilyne, Joy, Patricia, Jean, MarsGal, Jenny and Sandy.

Hope the timing gets right otherwise these will all clash this morning-mid day...First I have a home charity collection, i have been donating to this animal rescue charity as they actually will come to my home to collect, as i cant get myself to any of them, no Richard, no car, no transport as too isolated plus my MS situation...Second, i have a home supermarket shop delivery, i was very lucky ordering yesterday and finding this one hour delivery expected with a one hour slot which was the only next day slot still vacant so i jumped at it...Third, i have an Age UK man coming to my home to help me get a pension that i might be allowed from Richards ex company, i have already started the ball rolling but they are asking me to send proof and this is what i am needing extra help on...all this digging out paperwork etc etc, and having to photo copy everything before sending these paperwork's off is doing my head in...I just hope all the timing gets right, i would not be happy if it clashes as there is only a short time between them all...

Jenny...
...hope you will not be too jet lagged by the time you and Bob reach back home...give yourselves time to recuperate before you jet off again...

Marilyne...
...i know you will be both a lot happier once your hubby is let out of that place they call hospital...just to be back home in the environment that feels like home is a real health booster....I understand the shock of his surgery being so soon but, count your blessings as if it was here in UK, and done on our NHS, he would probably still be waiting...Not that i am now complaining about our NHS as they are wonderful doctors and nurses as i will never complain after seeing how they, the medics tried to bring my Richard back to life on that fateful morning-mid day of 11th April...they never gave up just sadly it wasn't to be...

Mary Ann...
...because of how far out i now live, there is only one or two large supermarkets that will deliver shopping to my home, thankfully i am now using one of them as and when, as otherwise I would totally come unstuck, no car, my MS, although i am also lucky to have an organic box, weekly if i choose home delivery that he leaves the box outside my door, he comes very early in the morning...this company is called riverford...organic farmers...

This morning watching the ships at Marine City. Three right away with more on the way. I missed the tall ship HMCS Oracle which is now around St. Clair. I am betting it is heading for the Sarnia Tall Ship Festival which begins Aug. 9. I have not checked to see where the ones that were at Kenosha are yet. Two more, so far, at Algonac. Wonderful, very high humidity haze on the river both places, but not at Port Huron.

Mary Ann

It was good to sign in and see so many posts this morning.  Lying in bed this morning felt so good, so I just stayed there.  I think Tom is out for breakfast and who knows where Kendrick is.  The sun is shining and it's the start of a beautiful day!

MarsGal, when I've gotten up earlier, I've seen more ships.  I don't think they schedule things that way, but it sure is nice to see several ships at once.  I enjoy the Boatnerd site when they have someone running the camera.

Jackie, it was good to hear from you because I began to wonder where you were.  You will be lucky if everything falls into place.  I know it isn't easy.

Beverly, I've got to make an appointment with my optometrist but I hate to, since there is nothing she can do for me.  But I know I should see her just to see how things are progressing, however bad they may be.

Joy, you worked yourself out of that "burst of energy" you woke up with.  I think I never have a burst of energy, but go at the same speed all day.  Not much gets done by me but I manage to fill a full day.

Patricia, I looked for your post about the gold and could not go back far enough but I found the label for my new earrings and it is Lifetime.

Onward and upward!

Mary Ann

MarsGal

Good afternoon everybody.

I just checked Marine Traffic and the only two tall ships I could locate right now are Bluenose II and Appledore IV; both are well on their way to Sarnia. I see that that the HMCS Oracle kept on going out into Lake Huron. I hope someone got to see it.

I decided to send my old 7" Kindle Tablet back for a trade-in. Well, that went well. First, after I de-registered it, I also managed to accidentally de-register my 10" Tablet. On the Website it didn't look like the 7" de-registered. Well, it did, but because I never changed names on my tablets, the names looked too much alike. So I now had to de-register from the 10" tablet itself because it didn't see that I de-registered it from the website. Only then could I re-register it. Phew! Everything seems to be there except I will have to bookmark the ship sites again on the browser. Next, I took the old 7"er to the UPS Store. I said to myself, okay, since I don't have a small box to send it back, I can just buy one at the UPS Store. Big mistake. That little box cost me more than the trade in value. I will not be doing that again. If a little box is close to six bucks, I hate to think what they charge for a big box. That was just the box. Thank goodness I had a free shipping label from Amazon to send it back.

I took a picture of Lucy and one of Lucy and Shan playing this morning. I am very surprised to find that the pix are still there. I thought they would have been wiped when I de-registered the tablet since I didn't upload them to the cloud yet. I'll get around to posting them here in a few days.

Temps are supposed to be a bit cooler the next couple of days, so I guess the mowing is back on my to do list. right now, I feel a nap coming on.

Mary Ann

MarsGal, you lost me as you went around second base with your de-registering and re-registering!  Not really, but you did have a time there.

Years ago, I put together 4" genealogy notebooks for my three nephews and myself.  One thing I had was my dad's diary while in WW I service at Curtis/Wright base as he advanced up the line to Sgt?  Jan's father died a couple of weeks ago and he was very interested in war history.  I happened to mention the diary to Jan and she said she'd like a copy.  Actually, if she knows where Terry's book is, it should be in there, but she thought I should be able to find it quicker on my computer.  Wrong!  I looked in the computers and am now looking in separate flash drives where I might have save it.  That is about all I've done today and I'm ready for a nap.  Tom should be home soon, I hope!

Mary Ann

FlaJean

It is really hot today.  According to the weather app, we will hit our peak of 90F at 1pm and then it will gradually go down.  They say it feels 100F!!

I went to the library yesterday evening and got four books.  That should keep me occupied.  I also want to spend a little time on the computer.

I hope AJ was able to come home from the hospital and life resumes as usual.  I know when Larry had his gall bladder operation before we moved here and the doctor kept him an extra day because of a problem, I was so worried.  I felt so good when he was home and life was normal again.  I think that episode was one of the reasons my daughter wanted us to move close by.  She couldn't take off work and no one was close by to help in case of emergency.

Mary Ann, even 'tho Tom keeps busy, I know you are glad he will be there if you need him.  I hope he keeps healthy for his sake and yours.

That Marie Callender TV dinner yesterday was disappointing as most TV dinners are.  We ate at a Marie Callender restaurant when our daughter lived in Calif.  we were sitting in a position where I could see the front counter.  I noticed during the hour or so we were there a number of people came in and picked up fresh pies.  Her frozen pies are good so I'm sure her fresh made pies are even better.  Of course, I realize it is a company run business now, but they do make good frozen pies.  The TV dinners—-not so much.  I think I might prefer Stouffer's.

Patricia, are you feeling any better?

Jackie, it was nice to see a post from you.  Sounds like things are slowly getting better.  Hopefully, you will get things worked out.

MarsGal, sounds like you will get a little relief from the heat.  Fall will be here before long.  I love the fall, especially October which is my favorite month.

Good afternoon,

Have been reading posts on my Tablet and commenting "in my head"  ;).  Decided to come to the pc and put them in writing.  Am getting used to the differences in Windows 7 and Windows 10 (on my new computer) and have found most of the locations where installer transferred things from the old computer. He was creative!!!!!

Jean, I definitely prefer Stouffer's meals and entrees.  Have you tried the panini sandwiches?  I think you're supposed to fold them over after microwaving but I just cut them into quarters and eat "open-face".

Jackie,  glad to see you are finding ways to work out the challenges.  Time really does make a difference.  I'm sure all of us in your situation wish it would happen faster!

Marilyne,  I, too, hope AJ is back home and things are stabilized.

MarsGal,  :D  while trying to keep up with your registering/unregistering/etc. but glad you got it done. :)
I missed seeing the boats as they went through this morning but was able to back up the video and see some of them in "rerun".  Interesting how so many are in the Duluth are or the St. Clair area at the same time.

Beverly,  I went to the eye dr. last week because I kept feeling as if there was a film over my left eye and it was "stuck shut" when I woke up in the mornings.  Some kind of "itis" (not conjunctivitis) and I'm to apply an ointment at bedtime and scrub my eyes with baby shampoo in the mornings.  (Reminds me of the old excuse for not going out with some one because "I have to shampoo my hair".  Guess my excuse would be "I have to shampoo my eyes".  :) )  Seems to be working but he said it might take 2 weeks to clear up.

Jenny,  hope your flight from Boston to Denver was uneventful and you are home safely.
Miss Ellen flew in from NYC this morning for a week's visit. Flight actually left LaGuardia a few minutes early and St. Louis change-over was on time.  Much better than when she was here last Christmas and it took her 2 extra days to get back because of weather.

Joy,  I keep the cranberry capsules on hand for times when I feel I need to stave off a UTI. I found some OTC test strips at the pharmacy for checking that but haven't needed to try one, yet.

Patricia,  missing you and hoping things are better in your world...personally and "atmospherically".

This is supposed to be the hottest day of the summer....so far (according to the weather gurus).  Last time I looked, the temperature was 100º with a heat index of 107º.

I badly needed to fill the gas tank plus get stamps and groceries so ventured out about 10:00 a.m.
Fortunately,  I remembered I can get stamps at the super market and the closest handicapped parking space was available when I got there.  So it wasn't too bad but I'm glad I didn't have to be out in the direct sun any longer than it took to walk in and out of the grocery store.

Just glad I didn't run into (literally or figuratively) one of the Lime scooters that, as of Monday, are now allowed in a 10 square mile area of the main part of town.  This includes the main east-west street that goes past the local university and a popular shopping center just east of the campus.  I cannot imagine trying to maneuver through that area when students are back on campus.  :o

Now in for the duration - or at least tomorrow, when I play Bridge.  Think I'll be a Recliner Radish for the rest of the afternoon - checking ships and reading e-books.

Hope Each of you is having an Enjoyable Day.

Callie, I have Windows 10 and don't use any part of it except S&F and Firefox and I have no use for other sections of the computer; I'm not a programmer.  A few days ago I had two upgrades - Windows 10 and Firefox.  At first things were so mixed up that I was ready to throw this computer in the pond.  I don't know if the upgrade straightened itself out or if I got used to it, but now things are OK.  I hate it when there is an upgrade because I never know how things will turn out.  Sometimes there is no change.

Tom just came home from Holland; he spent the day there.  Now he's napping and we'll eat about 7 pm which is OK with me.  At least he got home before I fixed my own supper.

We've had a warm day and I really don't know what the temperatures have been, which is not bad when you're in air conditioning nearly all day.

I have spent most of the day looking for a flash drive with my dad's info on it and I haven't found it yet.  I think Jan is going to have to look for my genealogy book where I am sure those papers are.  What I'm looking for could even be on a floppy and I still have a desktop that uses floppies - the only thing is:  I don't use the desktop!

Quote from: Beverly on August 06, 2019, 10:24:52 PMStopping in to say Good Night. Yesterday I had an appointment with the eye doctor. They took pictures of my retinas, etc. I have regular check ups for the M. D. Still dry, which is a very good thing. Had an uncomfortable day with my eyes being dilated. They were still dilated when I went to bed.
  ......................
I also saw my Opth (eye Doc.)... yesterday. This was a follow up from a month ago when he dialated my eyes. Hard to drive after that. I put on a baseball cap and use sun glasses.  The follow up was for increased pressure in the eye, which was higher yesterday. --- So, am scheduled for a laser surgery to put slits to relieve pressure.  Ain't it fun getting older? But it beats the alternative.

I'm not a regular with watching the ships but do look in at times. I think I'm too "antsy" to be a regular.  I do watch some Youtube stuff on Smart TV. Lots of good stuff including music. Marilyne, - do you guys have a Smart Tv?

Hope all are staying dry.  Big storms here tonight and it looks like they run south to Virginia.
It's the WINDMILLS
