Good afternoon. 4:57 here. I did post earlier but deleted the post as I thought I'd been too whiny. My doctor says I have Steph, yippie! It is also due to rain for another week, (We had five inches the last three days); and while there has been some low lying flooding, most of the rivers are running bank full with lots of sleepers, debris, and erosion. I'm looking forward to winter!

Patricia, I think you're entitled to a good Whine.  Have some cheese and crackers to go with it! <affectionately teasing you a bit  :smitten: >

Edit...  just remembered when my son was having one strep infection after another.  The doctor told us to change his toothbrush..
He was reinfecting  himself .  Makes sense when you think about it.....for strep and other infections.

Beverly...prayers and good thoughts for your daughter....and for you and Chap.  I think the hardest thing about parenthood is seeing an adult "child" going through a health challenge and knowing you can't fix it or make decisions for them.

Just caught up on all your posts.

Jean - I don't like to cook either. Between my husband's diabetes and kidney disease, it's next to impossible to plan meals. I always said if I could hire household help it would be a cook. I never wanted someone to clean house but I may be forced into it in the near future. (I actually enjoyed cleaning my own house.)

Rammel - So true! I hadn't heard of the procedure you mentioned. Hope it helps.

Patricia - At least now you know what you're dealing with.  :(  Hope you can get rid of it soon and start feeling better again. A little sunshine might be good, too. We're getting a lot of dreary weather with intermittent sunshine.

Callie - I'm going to try Stouffer's panini sandwiches. I've tried the pizzas but wasn't too fond of them.

MarsGal - Can you post the pictures of Lucy and Shan in Photos Then and Now?

Mary Ann - I have Windows 10. I've become used to most of it but still don't like the way it handles my photo files. The updates always seem to cause problems!

Today is my daughter Donna's 61st birthday.  She had her first chemo treatment Monday and today the fatigue is setting in. She's prepared mentally for what the next few months will bring. To top it off they had a severe thunderstorm and lost power for 3 hours this evening.

Good night all.

MarsGal

Mary Ann and Callie: I know. What should have been pretty straight forward turned into a fiasco. When I panic, I don't think to well, so I was confusing myself as it happened and trying to describe it all and make sense was difficult. I should never panic. I don't think well when I panic.

Beverly, I discovered, surprisingly, that I did not lose my two pictures during the Kindle debacle since I hadn't yet uploaded the photos to my Amazon cloud. Last evening, I did crop the pix a little, but I am not sure they will fit the web page as I had taken them landscape style.

Rammel, I love watching the ships on my SmartTV, except that I don't see the online chat info. Often I will consult my tablet for that and to see where the ships headed before or at the same time. It goes without saying that the cat videos are a priority too. They and the bird videos often attract the attention of my critters. My favorite music videos are Classical, Space Ambient, and Epic, especially 2 Steps from Hell. I love seeing the artwork that fans include with the music, but my very favorite to watch is the recording session footage. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGh4FcZKekA This is my very favorite album cover: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pICAha0nsb0 Shouldn't be surprising since I am big on Space and Science Fiction.

Okay, now I am getting carried away by the music. Will check back later. Hope everyone is doing well/better.

I've been up a half hour and I don't think I'm awake yet.  Kendrick is out on the deck; actually, the bell went off and I just brought him in.  It rained overnight, less than a half inch but I should not have to water my outside plants.

My parents were married 97 years ago today - in 1922.

I wrote something last night and something happened to the modem so I didn't write it again, not important but in answer to something written.

Beverly, I hope all goes well with your daughter with her chemo, and wish her a Happy Birthday for me.  I should have quit having birthdays years ago, but still they have kept on coming.

MarsGal, I hope things have settled down for you by now.  Things can get a bit hectic at times.

Beverly, I'm not fond of cooking, but can put a meal on the table if I have to.  I am not creative and cannot make something out of nothing.  I remember being in Farmington Hills MI at Terry and Jan's, saw several things in the refrigerator and her mother was there, pulled out all of the several things from the refrigerator and we had a delicious soup.  Now Jan's mother is in the early stages of dementia.

Patricia, whine away as much as you want - that's what we others are here for - to listen and provide comfort.

If I didn't know, I'd think it is Thursday because I hear lawn mowers.  I don't think the grass has grown much but they come anyway.

Mary Ann

Marilyne

I wrote a l-o-n-g message yesterday, saying hello to everyone, but never completed it.  It was a hectic day, because we brought AJ home from the hospital, so had to get organized before and after.  He's feeling well, except for some discomfort and weakness.  I can tell that it will be a challenge, to try to keep him from overdoing it in the coming days.  Right away, he spotted the fact that a board in the fence between our neighbor and us, has fallen and left a big opening.  Shelley propped it up a few days ago, and I was hoping he wouldn't notice it for a while.  No such luck, and now it will bother him until he can fix it!  That will be a long while, however, as he is not supposed to do anything strenuous.  Mostly he walked around the house, and the backyard and deck, and watched TV.

My dil, Jackie, brought a huge dinner over last night that she had prepared - a delicious Basmati (sp?) rice casserole, shredded chicken, and a couple of delicious cooked veggies.  AJ can't eat fresh veggies or fruits yet, but the rest of us had a nice green salad with avocado and tomatoes.

Right now it's time to make coffee, and start getting ready for the day. I will return later and plan to respond to all who posted yesterday!  Some interesting messages from everyone, that I really enjoyed reading.

Mary Ann

Marilyn, I'm happy for you that you could take AJ home.  Both of you will be more comfortable now.  I hope you can keep him from doing anything strenuous - I know it won't be easy.

Tom just came upstairs and has an appointment or meeting (I never know which) for the afternoon.  He'll be back before suppertime but I think he will be eating out with a friend, maybe even Annie.

Mary Ann

FlaJean

Marilyne, glad to hear that AJ is home and, hopefully, things will be back to normal soon.

We had rain yesterday but today is hot and sunny, at least for now.  Being so close to a large bay and then the Gulf gives us a lot of changes in weather, at least it seems like that to me.  In Ocala we had mostly sunny days and often not enough rain.  Here we have plenty of rain.

Patricia, this has been a bad summer for you.  I agree with Mary Ann, Complain all you want or need to.

Beverly, it has always been a mystery to me how my mother cooked dinner for us until she was close to 90 years old and made it look so easy.  I use to do whatever I could to help, but she preferred to do most of it herself.  Just before her 90th birthday, she fell and broke her wrist.  Larry was retired and I would come home from work and he would be fixing dinner with her sitting by telling him what to do. 😊

MarsGal, I suppose you took advantage of a few cool days and got your lawn mowed.  I'm glad in our senior years that we have a very thoughtful son-in-law to handle that job for us.

Callie, I haven't tried the Stouffer paninis, but will look next time I grocery shop and see what is available.

Mary Ann, I always look forward to your posts.

Have a good day, everyone.

Marilyne

Jean - How wonderful that your mother enjoyed cooking, and wanted to do it.  I would have loved (and still would love) to have someone here to cook dinner every evening.  I'm nothing but a basic cook, and I get the job done because we have to eat, not because I like doing it! Ha ha. As for being creative or wanting to try interesting recipes . . . never anything I cared to do.   Of course when my kids were young, I did a lot more, but now I prefer to take the easy way out . . . ready to eat take-out, deli sandwiches, or simple foods that are easy and quick to prepare.

I meant to comment on the Marie Callender frozen dinners!  I'd like to remain loyal to Marie C, being as she's directly related to AJ, but I have to agree that the frozen dinners now, are disappointing, and barely edible. The food in the original restaurants, when she was still living and her son Don was in charge of the business, was delicious, IMO.  However, when she died, he sold out to Con-agra,  one of the big food distributing companies, and that was the end of quality in both the restaurants and the frozen foods. Then the restaurants started closing here a couple of years ago, and there are none left now.  Still some in Southern California, and maybe other parts of the country?

Mary Ann - Like Jean, I always look forward to reading your posts every day!  I have a visual picture in my head of your condo, the chair you sit in with your laptop, and your bed, with Kendrick lying on it.  :)   I also see your deck and the stairs leading down and into the area where Tom lives.   I'm sure that in reality,  your condo looks nothing like what I imagine, but I like my idea of a nice cozy place, with lots things around, that gives a pleasant lived in appearance!

I still want to comment to Jackie, Rick, Beverly, Jenny and Patricia, but have to get off the computer and help with my patient!

Vanilla-Jackie

Marilyne...
...your " patient " takes number one priority...commenting to me can wait...

My mother was not a great cook; she was of English descent and I've always felt that the English did not have much taste.  However, we always ate.  She was a stay-at-home mother except when her church group met.  Dad usually got the Sunday dinner, after taking us to Sunday School.  He'd come after Norm and me then go back after Mother when church was out.  Once a month, I'd work on the Sunday dinner after Dad got it started and he'd go back to church to be with Mother.  That was routine for years.  I learned to bake rather than cook and years after would bake different kinds of cakes.  Cakes were our desserts, along with pies.  Mother was known for her lemon pies and lemon tarts and while we always had some of them, mostly they were for Wednesday evening dinners at church.

Marilyn, my condo is small - 900 sq ft on each floor.  Enter into a hallway and to the left is a U-kitchen.  At the end of the hall is the dining room and beyond that the living room and sliders to the deck.  There is a short hall to the right with the computer room, bath and my bedroom (my chair is by the window).  From that short hall beside the dining area is the stairway going down to a family room, Tom's bedroom, furnace/laundry room, shower bath, storage area.  I would like more area but Tom thinks it is too large for when he inherits the place.  He is thinking of taking in a house mate when that time comes.  There is a slider to a patio in the lower level.  We are comfortable here and near all necessities - fire station up the hill, strip malls nearby, church is 4-5 miles away and Dot is the driver since I sold my car.  Tom takes me elsewhere.  Supermarkets within a couple of miles.  Good restaurants (but not fancy, expensive ones) nearby.  My dad used to say Grand Rapids was like a small town as we are divided into NE, NW, SE and SW for addresses.  We live in the NE, in fact, in a suburb now.  We're about four miles from the house where I grew up - once a northender, always a northender, at least for us.

I think I mentioned that my parents were married 97 years ago today.

As to Marie Callender, I have bought only her pot pies and dessert pies and I like every one.  My favorite is her Chicken Mushroom Pot Pie.  One is really too large for me, but I usually eat only the insides.  I like her crusts, but I can eat all of the filling without the crust at one meal.

Jean, we had rain overnight, but not the storm we expected.  I did not know it had rained until I saw the deck was damp.  I haven't been out there today because I did not want another wet seat, wet enough I had to change clothes.

For nights that Tom is gone, I'm going to try the Stouffer paninis.  Usually I'd rather make me a peanut butter sandwich than eat some of the dinners I've ordered; they're so tasteless.  I do have some tilapia in the freezer and it takes a half hour to bake or microwave and I will say I'd rather eat more instantly than a half hour when I have to fix it myself.

Well, I wrote so much that you have much to read.  Thanks for enjoying my posts because you got enough to read!  I have to say I always enjoy reading the longer posts, regardless of the content.

Now I'll see if there are any ships on the St Clair River.

Jean, I tried to add this to the last post and it didn't take - but I got a kick out of reading about your mother telling Larry how to fix dinner after she broke her wrist.

Denver

A good Thursday HELLO tO all.

I wrote a post in the SShoppe last night, and I always copy it and change what is needed and then post it here, or Visa versa.....well, it seems I never got it posted there so of course it is not here either.  I can not guarantee anything as I have remained on Eastern time and find myself ready for bed at 7 PM MDT!

Anyway, we made it home safe and sound....had to get an Uber to bring us home.  My Kitty, Smokey was beside himself he was SO HAPPY to see us.  He never meows.....but has started just when we get home from being away and he just keeps crying until he is horse! Not to mention he bugged me all night long as he wanted to make sure I knew he still loves me🥰🥰

We have been on the run trying to get caught up with things.  Kurt and the boys were going to fly to Denver on Friday, so we had to take his vehicle in, the one that he left parked here in our driveway as he was returning so soon, to the dealership for a air bag recall.  Decided to have the oil changed at the same time...... well to make a long story short, they just called to tell us the car was ready, BUT OF COURSE they did not get the airbags changed out as they did not have the parts!  Now he made this appointment a good month ago!  Now Kurt is not going to come as both of the boys are sick.  Things change drastically in our lives it always seems.

The kiddos started back to school here yesterday, so we are on the hook to pick Matt up every day from football practice and take him home.  Michele still has another month of chemo, then she will have to do some radiation, so not sure how long this will be our weekly job.  Matt's school is about half way between his home and our home.  He is a bus student.  Of course Kate has to be taken to dance and picked up as well, at the same time, so mama, dad and friends are taking care of that.  Oh this busy life we lead!

I know I commented on several other things in my post last night, but I do not remember now.  Will come back later if I figure out what they were.

MARY ANN, Bob's Mother was a English citizen, coming to the US two weeks after the Titanic sank.  She was never a very good cook.....everything she made was very bland.  When she went into assisted living she thought the food there was excellent...... we think it was because it tasted just like she cooked!

MARLYNE, I am so happy to read that AJ is home from the hospital and doing well.  I know you will really have to keep an eye on him so that he will not over do it. I can well imagine that the fence repair will drive him  Nuts, until he can get out to fix it.  You take care of yourself now too....and not over do it! We always loved Marie Callender's and ate there, and picked up pies for years, then they started going down hill and they closed all the restaurants here.

It is really clouding over here now and we are under a storm watch......hope Matt will not be outside in the lightening at football practice.

JACKIE, we do not plan to jet off anywhere too soon, but I am not sure we are getting properly recovered from our wonderful time in Boston, as we had to hit the ground running!  I hope you know that I have you in my thoughts and prayers daily, and know that you have a lot on your plate with trying to get everything done legally after Richards passing.  I am happy you are getting a bit of help in doing so.  Also happy you were picked up and taken to church.....I hope that will continue for you.

Phone calls, and now it is time to go pick up Matt.

Take care now and have a good evening.

Good late afternoon from a soaked Interior! Next week is supposed to be partly cloudy with rain returning the following Saturday. We'll see as it will be plus 76 and sunny one moment and be pouring so bad that the rain bounces halfway up again the next.

I am full of steroids, antacids with simethicone, congestion pills and lots and lots of clear fluids. It's a wonder how I got sick when I never saw anyone for quite a while. Alan and Dora canceled my luncheon, which hurt because Dora is a whiz with fresh fruit dishes. She had a cake but laughed and said that was so me about the icy fruit. I'm on quarantine presently because I'm contagious. Thanks for the toothbrush idea but I would need to buy a bushel of brushes. I had an Amazon order come in, and instead of having me come down to pick it up, security brought it to my door and then called me on the inhouse intercom to tell me.

Callie, that bit about cheese with your whine was one of my dad's favorite sayings. Perhaps a Midwestern saw? These days I have nothing to write about other than Farrah being my best bud and chirping at me to move out of her spot on the bed, couch, or chair. Yesterday she was very excited about a pigeon hanging out on the balcony rail. The ravens have also returned, following the cooler weather down from the mountains.

Marilyne, I'm glad AJ is home!

Hello to everyone else!

Never thought of watching the ships on the Smart TV - probably because i linked from here (computer).  If you liks easy jaz try https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npVdlUFJkVg . Put - Night city jazz - into the search at Youtube. Good background listening while net surfing.

JACKIE - I hope that the three things you had planned for Wednesday, all worked out in your favor.  Nice of you to donate to the animal rescue charity.  I wish I could donate my household items or clothing  to  any group having to do with animals, but we don't have anything like that, that I know of?  Of course we have the Humane Society, SPCA, and various rescue groups, but to my knowledge, none of them collect donations?  They all encourage monetary donations of course!  ::)    I'm glad you started getting grocery delivery at home, as I know it would be next to impossible for you to get out to a supermarket.  I'm thinking of starting delivery from my closest store, but haven't yet tried it.  I hope you will be able to get a pension from Richard's company?  Let us know how that turns out for you?

BEVERLY - Your daughter and my oldest daughter are the same age - both born in 1958!   Shelley turned 61, on May 7th.  I will be thinking about Donna, and holding positive prayers, that the chemotherapy will not be too hard on her.  Please keep us posted on how she is doing?  Meant to ask before . . . does she live close enough that you will be able to see her during her course of treatment?

RICK - Yes, we do have a Smart TV, but I've never watched any YouTube on it.  I'll have to figure out how to get it, as I would like to watch the ships.  It never occurred to me until you mentioned it.    Mostly we just watch Netflix and Amazon Prime, and all the other usual programing.  Sorry about your serious eye problem!  Laser surgery sounds like serious stuff!  Is the pressure caused from glaucoma?  I'm going to take a look at Night City Jazz, when I sign out tonight.

PATRICIA - You have had a miserable Summer so far this year, but I guess Summer is almost over in Alaska?  (Your summer I mean, but I hope your strep and other problems are almost over too.)  I can't imagine having so much rain, because we are almost always in a drought!  We never have enough rain at one time, to actually get tired of it.

MARSGAL - I wrote you a long message in the Library folder, and then accidently deleted it.  >:(   I'll go back tonight or tomorrow morning and try to recreate it!

CALLIE - I'll see you in Library too, but probably not until tomorrow.
Wonderful that Miss Ellen will be  visiting for a week!    I hope you get lots of "Grandma Time"!

JENNY - I'm quickly running out of steam here, but before I call it a night, I want to say that I'm glad you and Bob are back home again.  Now you'll step back into your normal routine, what with school starting. It sure does seem early for school to be starting?  Sorry to hear that Michele still has another month of chemo, but I know she is ready to do whatever it takes! I'll be praying that after the last round, she will go into remission.

...this month August i will be stuck here inside my home as there are no U3A groups this month nor can the only car driver that covers my area will be available to take me to church this Sunday, his time is being taken up by a long-term friend who has now come over from Canada... I am gutted as this Sunday the lady Bishop will be coming to the church and i wont be able to get there...This is the same lady Bishop who came to a previous church three years ago the day i was giving the reading, my first ever reading from ACTS, which i was told was one of the hardest from the bible to read, i would have loved to have seen her this Sunday to mention about my reading and if she remembers me but, it is not meant to be...I have been on a real downer these last couple of days...

Marilyne..
...yes all three went to timescale, nothing clashed but, although the main appointment went well, this might be a drawn out slog as Richards bank has now been closed, the solicitor now has his money but my Age UK man says we need to get onto the solicitor to ask the bank for his last statements because this is what his insurance company are requiring, i have given him the permission of liaising with the solicitor but will she or wont she do this for us, again this will be costly and more time consuming ...Even then this information has to go to the board room meeting, so this could be another drawn out and a will i get it or wont i get it...all this is just adding more stress on my already stressed out MS body...

Marilyne...my stuff i have been donating has all gone to their shop...they have taken quite a lot of items even some stuff i thought i would have trouble getting rid of, even a bag i had ready to be taken by someone to the refuse drive in tip, the man said he would take which consisted of metal door knobs and metal large curtain rings left by the previous owner and some of our armchair wooden screw on legs...I double checked with him that all money made goes to the animals, he said yes...It is a well known Dorset animal rescue charity and re-homing...they have been to my home a good three or four times now...
Do your animal charities not have shops that sell clothes and stuff to the public...although over here not all have a man with a van to come to the home to collect, many expect you to take stuff in, that is ok if one can do this, i cant and it was only after doing some research on the computer i was lucky to find this local to me charity which has a few shops scattered around Dorset...

I've read all the posts this morning, but won't have much time to respond just now.

Marilyne, I am glad to hear that AJ is now home. May he have a speedy recovery.

What an exciting day it was at Port Huron yesterday. Lots of shipping activity, and Appledore IV arrived in the late afternoon for the Sarnia Tall Ship Festival that starts today and goes through the 11th. As of last evening, NAO Santa Maria, Picton Castle, and Bluenose II had not arrived. The three that have moored at Sarnia Marina as of last night are Fair Jean, Appledore IV, and Empire Sandy. Best look at the moored ships is on the BoatNerd live webcam when it gets lighter. I am not posting the link, because it it hanging up on me just now. Hope that is fixed before I get back.

Now I must get my grocery list ready.

We Could Be Witnessing the Death of a Tectonic Plate, Says Earth Scientist

More earthquakes and other seismic activity,  The Juan de Fuca plate is long, stretching about 600 miles (1,000 kilometers) along the Pacific Northwest coast, from Vancouver Island, Canada, to Cape Mendocino, California. "No part of it is above the water. It's a total oceanic plate" that's subducting, or diving beneath another plate, in this case, the North American plate (a continental plate), Hawley said.

I didn't realize that I hadn't been here for a couple days.  Everything is ok and I am feeling a lot better. Right now, I don't have a lot of time to write very much.

I did just want to make an appearance and say "HI ! "

Marilyne, Glad that your husband is home and hope he continues to recover nicely.  I have one of those Smart TV's and I do not like it.  My son got it for me without letting me know.  I just cannot figure it out.  It has a voice controlled remote and I can never find the station I want.  It takes me through 5 or 6 steps before I can even get into it.  I am so used to just pushing the numbers of the channel I want.  It is in my bedroom and I just don't use it at all.  I guess I am just not "Smart enough" for my Smart TV. LOL

I hope every one  will enjoy the beautiful week end weather.  It seems to be what will be over the whole country.  Best week end of the summer, our local forecaster has said.

I do plan on going to our local Farmers Market tomorrow.  Looking for some good Maryland tomatoes and peaches.

I hope everyone is doing as well as they can and get out to enjoy the nice weather.

HOpefuly, I will try to get back later.

Not much going on in this part of the country and I hope it stays that way!

Joy, glad you are feeling better.  About the smart TV—-just pretend it isn't smart and just put in the channel you want and it might go to that channel and if it doesn't push The OK button (or whatever it is called on your TV).  You don't have to use it as a smart TV for streaming, etc., tell your son exactly how you want to use the TV and he can show you what to do.

Glad things are getting back to normal with you, Marilyne.

Mary Ann, I enjoyed your post.  Tom is lucky to have you as his aunt.

Got to go help my hubby with something.  Oh, and Denver glad you had a nice vacation,

CallieOK

Good morning (for 3 more minutes if I type fast)

Joy, if my children give me anything that's voice activated I'll give it right back to them.  I talk to myself too much to take a chance on having something weird happen because I'm "sounding off".  Our dog used to come in when I was "expressing my opinion" and I could almost see him shrugging and thinking, "She's at it again" as he turned and walked out.

I awoke to thunder and heavy rain - and it continues to be gray and drizzly.  I think the temperature is much lower but the humidity is not. <squeak, creak, Repeat....... :( >
Glad I planned to stay home today.

Marilyne,  Miss Ellen is mainly here to be in a friend's wedding tomorrow night and see the Wisconsin cousins (Mama's side) who are making their annual family visit. She plans to spend time with me on Monday or Tuesday - but I don't yet know which.  She has celiac problems so I don't try to cook for her - but I do make peanut butter cookies that only take a cup of sugar, a cup of peanut butter, an egg and vanilla flavoring.  Can't lose my "Cookie Grandmother" status.  :)

I read in the comments on the Port Huron site that there'll be a parade of Tall Ships into the lake and back again between 3:00 and 5:00 this afternoon.  At least, I think it's this afternoon. Might be tomorrow. The time of posting doesn't show.

MarsGal

I got back from gathering groceries, had lunch and now am see what is what this afternoon.

Callie, thanks for the tall ship parade time. All ships are in except the NAO Santa Maria which is making its way toward the St. Clair I can probably just make it out if I look close. I can see the tankers anchored of the Sarnia Anchorage and the Santa Maria is in line with and closer than them. On the MarineTraffic map, it shows that Picton Castle and Bluenose II are docked between Empire Sandy and Appledore IV. Funny I haven't been able to make out their masts on the BoadNerd site. Will have to try harder. I really thought they would berth the Picton Castle down where Fair Jean is docked (below where the Duc D'Orleans docks) because it is so big.

Patricia, I had no idea that the Juan de Fuca was such a small plate. Interesting article.

Albert Speer and James A. Barker should be passing Algonac soon. Going to go check it out.

Mary Ann

How nice to see so many posts now.  I ate my lunch on the deck and the cushion was dry so I didn't sit on a wet one.  A corner of the back cushion was damp but I wasn't close to that corner.  I did not wear my dark glasses and I'm having a hard time seeing.

MarsGal, you are paying much more attention than I am to the various tall ships, however, I do intend to look in on the parade whenever it happens.

Tom just came home from lunch and wherever and he'll be her all afternoon.  I don't know about tonight, but I'm not included.

Whoever said Tom was lucky to have an aunt like me; I am lucky to have him.  He takes good care of me.  I give him a home and he allows me to stay in my own home.  Turn about if fair play!  I think I need a nap!

As you can see on the Upcoming Calendar, on the Forum page, tomorrow will be Junee's 97th birthday!  Junee, used to post a lot on S&F, but not much in the past year, since she moved into a senior living facility.

I've stayed in touch with her on Facebook, and today, I sent her a message, in hopes that she would look in tomorrow on her birthday.  I don't remember if she posted here in B&T in the past, but I'm sure that some of you remember her?  A 97th birthday is quite a milestone, so I plan to leave her a birthday greeting here and in another folder, and I hope others who knew her, will do the same.

Mary Ann

Marilyn, thank you for the reminder of Junee's 97th birthday.  I am sure she did post in B&T because she and Norm were friends.  I think she was in the US one year and was at Grand Haven with two or three others - Whimsey (Sally Hales) for one.

I'll try to send her an e-mail of best wishes.

I'm waiting on the boat channels to see if there will be a parade of sailboats.  I had thought it would be Tall Ships, but I don't think there are enough Tall Ships to create a parade.  Many regular sailboats.  i wonder if the ships will have their sails up.
