Lake Michigan is kind of choppy this morning, lots of whitecaps.  The Algoma Buffalo is now in port, or at least it's not visible on my screen.  There is an aggregate stone company along the Grand River in Spring Lake and that might be where the Buffalo went.

I debated as to whether get up at 7 am or stay in bed until 8:30 am and getting up at 7 won.  I overslept on a nap yesterday and sleep didn't come easy last night so I was up and down during the night.  Even Kendrick avoided me because it disturbed him.

MarsGal, I'm happy to hear Oscar is OK.

Dot puts out decorations for every holiday, but inside.  Nothing too elaborate, just the right touches.

Good morning from an Interior where it's snowed. We had been receiving weather snow alerts for a while but none for in the valley or below 1500 feet. No one told Mother Nature about that because at five-thirty yesterday afternoon, we had a snow squall for about an hour, and here we are. I wondered because we had snow clouds, fog and rain all last week and yesterday you could see snow in the foothills from the valley. "Usually," if that's still applicable, the first snow melts, and then the second and remaining snow comes later.

Farrah has taken to napping on the couch behind my head. And remains there for a time as long as you follow the no-touching rule. This is her version of being a lapcat. The only touches allowed and preferred are head and belly rubs and scratches in the bathroom or on the rug with no picking up wanted or needed.

Ravens are the only birds I've seen, but Dora and Tamra have seen owls in the trees where they live in the foothills. Tamra's owl was the size of a toddler according to her and similar to a Great Northern owl. I've only seen two owls in my life but would love to see one again.

MaryAnn, I saw the freighter after your first post yesterday and wondered why it was there. Thanks for your post and later explanation.

MarsGal, I'm glad that both George and Oscar are home now and doing better!

We just returned from Mr Burger, aka The Cholesterol Pit, and we had our usual, pie (Coconut Cream - yum) and Tuna Melt.  Dot said Norm was the one who coined the name for the Cholesterol Pit.  And I think any hamburger place could claim that title.

Tom was home when I got home, which is unusual because he either comes home at 12:30 or goes directly somewhere and I don't see him for most of the day.  I know he enjoys his new chair and he has a chance to read in comfort now and that might keep him home more.

It is a beautiful sunny day and I left the front door open.

Tom is leaving for a Memorial service for a friend from where they grew up.  We had a conflict with my visitation for a friend, both today, but Dot said she wanted to go to the funeral, so that relieved the situation.

It was World Wide Communion Day today and we had an increase in congregation!

Patricia, Kendrick doesn't get many chest/tummy rubs because I am afraid of his claws.  He may not mean to claw me, but he does and it hurts.  He gets plenty of head and back rubs, also tail pulls which he seems to enjoy, or at least tolerates.

I'm glad you're getting the snow instead of us.  But I know our time is coming.

I'm going to need a nap soon!

Mary Ann

angelface555

MaryAnn, Farrah lets you know she's ready when she runs a little ahead of you, flops on her side, not her back, and stretches both front and back legs lengthwise to the side. I don't think I've ever seen her on her back as its probably too trusting for her.

When she's in position, you're expected to give a long tummy rub or a long scratch or two or three. I've learned when she makes her little forward dash to stop suddenly or veer to the side. I learned because, at first, before she had me trained, I attempted a few faceplants. :o

It's snowing heavily again and this is early snow instead of at Halloween.

Amy

Patricia, please keep the snow your way. Leaves are taking on a lovely area of colours here..I know snow is coming but still have outside work to do.

Amy, from the fires to the crazy 6.5 weeks of rain and flooding to an early fall and unusually early snow, I'll try but I don't think Mother Nature is listening.   :-\

Amy

Patricia, we could use more rain, some wells are going dry. Bad time of year if one could say there was a good time but we need more fall rains here..lakes, ponds ,rivers are low..

Good late afternoon.  It has been a kind of cloudy, dreary day.  No sun and gray sky.

It has been a very lazy day.  Like Mary Ann, I had an up and down night.  I had gone to bed about 11:30 and by 1:30 I was wide awake.  This usually happens when I go that early . (early for me)  So, then I was up and down from the recliner to back to the bed.  Read for a while.... got something to eat, and tried to go back to sleep, Around   5,  I did finally fall asleep and slept until after 8.  Been a lazy day ever since.   I did manage to fix a jello salad and found a frozen chicken pie way back in the freezer. So, I will have a good supper tonight.

I have 2 sore fingers... one on each hand and it sure is making it difficult to type, fix something to eat and just about almost anything I want to do.  One is on the very tip of the finger and I do have a bandage on it and that is getting in the way.

Just wanted to make an appearance and I will try to get back tomorrow.

Have a great evening !!

I'm late getting in to say "Hello" today.  It's already about 2:30, and finally I'm able to log some computer time!  Shelley and Claire left about an hour ago, so things are back to normal.  We had a great time while they were here, and I was sorry to see them go.

We spent most of yesterday afternoon at the antique shop, and then to the Cottage Craft Boutique, which is a large store filled with various handmade items for sale, from lots of talented ladies in this area.  Such things as quilts, sweaters, hats, lovely handbags & totes, and lots of hand embroidered items like pillow cases, baby clothes, etc. Shelley and I like to buy gifts there, to have for future birthday presents, Christmas, etc.  Then we all went out to Double D's for dinner last night and had hamburgers or Spaghetti and meat balls.

Joy - Sorry you've been having such erratic sleep patterns lately. I'm another one who never knows if I will sleep, or lie awake most of the night.  Lately I've been up and down all night, but I must have been tired  from all the company and shopping yesterday, because I actually slept well last night.

Mary Ann - I think you'd like the food and atmosphere at Double D's. It's a sport's bar restaurant, with games playing on different TV's, according to season. Nice comfortable booths, and good food.  It's right here in town, but we haven't been going regularly, in recent years.  It burned down a couple of years ago, and took a long while for rebuilding, so we got out of the habit of going there.

Amy - good to see you posting here!  We desperately need rain here in Northern California, also.  However,  I don't expect to see anything measurable for at least another month.  In the meantime, we are always on the alert for wildfires, because our humidity is so low this time of year.  That, plus N/E winds, brings fire!

Patricia - We had Lily, Shelley's long haired calico cat here for the weekend.  She is a sweetie, but I need to build up an allergy tolerance for the long hair!  I sneezed a lot while they were here . . . as many as ten sneezes in a row, which is exhausting at my age.  In spite of that, I love having Lily here.  She is another cat who likes tummy rubs!

MarsGal - Happy to hear the George, is feeling much better.  That must have been a bad scare for him!  I hope he sees his regular doctor this week, for a report on what could have caused the problem?

Mary Ann

It's almost 7:30 pm here and I'm starting to get hungry.  If Tom doesn't come up with a better idea, I think I'll fix some Sloppy Joe mix - hamburger, onion, something tomato and whatever else I can find to put in it.

It's been such a nice day, even now it is 60 degrees  I just hate to see it get dark so early.

Joy, you're right, it is hard to type with sore fingers, especially the tip of any of them.  I often have up and down nights and I try to limit my naps to an hour, which I usually do, but there are still almost-sleepless nights.  Especially Saturday nights when I have to get up the next morning.  Otherwise, I could continue sleeping.

Marilyn, we go to two or three Sports Bars but we go at noon.  Sometimes one is so crowded, we go to another one.  I think we missed eating outside at the Score this year and I don't know why.  The games and such are usually at night and Tom may meet some school friends there but I don't go then.  I eat well wherever I go, however.

We've had enough rain lately, enough to get into the level of the pump house where the pumps are.  I thought the Board had rearranged the pump house so the pumps were at a higher level.  Not being on the Board any longer, I don't know any more than anyone else.

Patricia, most states have a motto "if you don't like the weather, wait 10 minutes and it will change".  You seem to have hit the jackpot in varieties.

A good Sunday night HELLO.  BUSY day, so I am just getting in here.

We spent the night with the grands last night.  They are all a delight to be with and do very well for themselves, so not much for us to do at all.  Dave and Michele had a wonderful time at the friends 50th Bday celebration and we were so happy that they were able to get out socially and enjoy themselves.

My Broncos finally won their first game of the season today, so I am feeling much better about them.

Jonah turned 10 months old today.  He is walking more and more and even woke up with his two bottom teeth coming through❣️

Tomorrow Matthew has a playoff football game.  His team is 6-0.  They anticipate winning again tomorrow and the championship game will be played Wednesday.  He has really enjoyed playing and wants to continue again next year.

MARILYNE, happy you enjoyed the girls visit.  If you were sneezing like that it seems you might be allergic to that long haired kitty, Lily...pretty as she might be❣️

I guess I had best say goodnight and sleep tight.

Getting a late start here this morning. Sleeping until 8:00, feels like the middle of the day for me!  I must have needed the rest, because I usually wake up between 6:00 and 6:30.

No messages here yet today, so I looked in Soda Shoppe, and read a post from  Mary Ann, plus all others who post there.  Someday, in the not-too-distant future, I'm afraid that SS and B&T, will be the only folders left that members will be posting in??  Maybe the Photos and More, and occasionally a Q&A in the computer discussion.  I'd like to keep the Library Bookshelf, and the Television folders alive, but nobody has much inclination to post there?  I know that everyone turns on the TV at some point every day, but whatever they're watching, must not be of much interest??

Jenny - I see that you're the last one who posted here, which was last night!  Looks like you had a nice weekend with the "grands", so Michele and Dave could get a night out at the birthday celebration.  So good to see that Michele is feeling well enough to have some fun with friends!  I know you and Bob will enjoy yourselves at Matthew's football game today!

FlaJean

It is a little cooler here today.  I think we will soon see some fall weather.

I'm up and down a lot at night also.

Mary Ann, that coconut cream pie you had Sunday sounds so good.  I'm going to buy me a Marie Callender frozen coconut cream pie and just cut a frozen slice when I want one.  I'm the only one in my family who likes cream pies.

Marilyne, your shopping (or looking) trip sounds like fun.  Larry and I use to love looking in the various antique(?) shops.  Lots of shops in Central Florida but not much in this area.  We saw some beautiful china at one shop but the price was unbelievably high.  They did have a nice complete set that was reasonably priced, but when we went back to buy it for everyday use, someone had snapped it up.  We ended up buying Lennox everyday Butterfly Meadow which we really enjoy.  I haven't used my good china in years.  It just sits there in the china cabinet looking pretty.  I remember you saying you had several sets of china.

Patricia, is your first snow of the season still with you or is it melting away.  How do you manage with your grocery shopping in the bad weather?  Do you all have a senior bus or transportation where you live?  My son-in-law's mother lives in senior housing and they have a bus that makes shopping runs, but she always looks forward to my son-in-law's visit every couple of months to take her around to different shops or restaurants where she never gets to visit.  She tearfully gave up her car which was difficult for her as she is very independent.

I know from your posts that Alaska's weather varies, but Larry's niece and husband were on an island somewhere in Alaska for a couple of years.  They had to take a ferry to the nearest town.  From her letter it was very cold and snowy.  I wish I had kept her letter.

Jenny, glad to hear Michele and Dave had a fun night out.  She hasn't had many in a long time, it sounds like.

Hope everyone is doing well.

angelface555

Good morning from the Interior, where there is still some remaining snow. It's hard to answer your questions as to the types of weather that have changed. Many, many new animals, vegetation, and trees are moving North, and some animals who used to migrate yearly no longer do. Glaciers and sea ice are melting and or disappearing, and polar bears no longer move to the lessening sea ice in the summer. A new phenomenon, polar bears, and grizzlies are now sharing some northern territories and interbreeding.

It used to be that we had spring ranging from the end of March to about Easter and Summer went from Easter to the end of July. August was a month of rain as temperatures dropped, and September was cooler and beautiful without summer's haze. Trees and vegetation would start turning colors in the first part of October, with early snow falling around Halloween with the other permanent snow in the first couple weeks of November. January and February had our coldest temperatures, and the more light after the winter solstice, the warmer it became. How much snow we had depended as last year,(2018); saw the end of a twelve-year drought.

This year we had raging forest fires, 6.5 weeks of rain and flooding, and then snow before many insects and birds had even thought about migrating south.

CallieOK

Merry Monday,  Gorgeous Fall day in Central Oklahoma.  Beginning to see some red leaves on the Bradford and Cleveland pear trees. So pretty!  The "collection" of dead leaves from the many Cottonwood trees behind the fence?....Not so much!

FlaJean:  there was an article in this morning's paper about What To Do With Fine China Nobody Wants.  Lots of suggestions about decorating and using for flowers.

I am so NOT a shopper/browser.  Used to try and go with a group of friends (because lunch was included  ;D ) and usually ended up sitting by the entrance and waiting for them to ever so slowly work their way down the aisles, picking up this and that and discussing it -and then putting it back.

Jenny,  I have such good memories of play-off and championship games for Miss Emily's League Softball team.  Never got to go to Nationals with them but loved hearing about the trips.

Marilyne,  several of the t.v. shows I like have begun new seasons.  Guess I'd better scoot over to the Television forum and comments.

CUL8R, Everyfriend.  Enjoy your day.

Mary Ann

Patricia, it sounds as if you have more than four seasons but I don't know what to call the extras.  It is in the high 60s here now, a beautiful fall day.  I can leave a door open without getting a lot of chill.  I did not leave it open today because when I came home, the mowers were here and it was noisy.  I don't know why they're here on Monday, but I don't have to know.

Dot and I went to a funeral this morning and it was very nice.  I really expected more people than there were; it seemed the family mourners equaled in number the number of non-family there.  And I didn't see a lot of people I knew.  Weekdays are not good days to have funerals because many people cannot attend then.  We had a nice lunch afterward and then we came home.  Tom was home when we got here.  He's working now and I had been taking a nap until my phone rang.  For the first time in a long time, it was not a robo call, however, it was recorded.

Marilyn, when I come here in the morning and no one has posted, I just go to the Soda Shoppe.  I post in both folders and both folders need my help.  I can see the folders dwindling to just a few, but since I don't visit some of the others, I have no idea how busy they are.  I don't go to the Library folder because I cannot read.  Even when I did, I was very selective in my reading, reading non-fiction, preferably biographies or auto-biographies. Now my vision would not allow me to read much - and it drives me crazy.

Jean, that is a good way to take care of a pie.  Tom would help me eat a pie but his preference is apple and mine might be cherry.  I do say I make a good apple pie, just tart enough for me.  Cherry pie is easier because all I need is a crust and a can of cherry pie mix.  With apple pie I have to slice the apples.

I had a good lunch at the funeral, but writing about pies is making me hungry and I don't have the makings in the house for any pie.

I live in a five-story Independent living building of one-bedroom apartments for disabled seniors with seven studios, on the first floor reserved for adults, not seniors; who are mentally disabled but able to live independently. A foreign company owned this building, part of seven around town and nine others in Southeast. When tariffs and trade wars erupted, the company sold out to the State and moved into South America.

Now, being state-owned, we've lost many perks and services but still retain 24/7 security and maintenance. They no longer provide housekeeping, but I understand it, and CNAs are available through Medicare. The first-floor kitchen closed and no longer offers breakfasts and lunch for fees nor 24/7 coffee and treats. There is no longer a service co-ordinator, but various groups working with seniors attempt to take it on for brief periods.

There are libraries/ reading rooms on each floor that a church, craft, or other groups can reserve for talks or libraries or other activities. I do not care for state-owned over private because there are so many disadvantages and especially loss of prompt service. There are cameras in all public areas, and the doors automatically lock, so you need to have a key fob with you at all times.

We no longer enjoy the use of the previous company's van. The bus company has Vantran for those unable to ride local buses, and the Senior Centers jointly offer a similar service. Both on a schedule, one-stop only, and a small fee between two to five dollars each way. The regular bus is free to all those sixty and over.

As to cold areas vs. warm areas, it depends on location. There are four separate geographical and geothermal areas or regions in Alaska. They could have been in the Aleutians or somewhere else on the west side of the state or in the far northern regions. I live in an area of arboreal trees ranging for thousands of miles and also in a watershed valley. This valley is surrounded by three sets of foothills and four mountain ranges, some the highest in the world outside of Everest.

MaryAnn, just four seasons. Highs now in the low forties and lows in the early thirties. Our trees, plants, etc. used to change in October. This year they changed and dropped in September. This is also the time of year when the dry climatic becomes readily known as static electricity is everywhere. We have rarely had that much if any moisture or humidity locally.

Marilyne

Jean - Vintage American dinnerware and china are my big passion.  "Vintage", in my case, means 1930's through 1970's.  I also like things that go along, like glassware, tableclothes, and old kitchen stuff like canisters, mixing bowls, pitchers,  Pyrex, etc.  I love your Lenox Butterfly Meadow!  It's so pretty and colorful.  I remember when they sold it at Macy's, and I used to always look at it, and also the newer patterns by Villeroy & Boch.   My daughters both share my passion for dishes, so we all enjoy going to the antique stores to look at the old patterns, or to the department stores to look at the new.

Callie - I'd like to see that article in your paper - "What To Do With Fine China Nobody Wants".  It certainly is true that nobody wants the real fine china anymore - whether it's vintage or brand new.  I've read that today's young brides, don't list china or sterling silverware on their gift registers anymore, like they did in the past.  Times change!

Patricia - We also suffer from static electricity from low humidity.  So far, no wildfires here, except for a quite a few brush fires in the lowlands. The air seemed smokey to me this morning, so probably a brush fire somewhere near here?  That smokey air is extremely hard on those of us who suffer from allergies or respiratory problems.

Mary Ann - I'm going to make an effort to post in other folders, as well as here in B&T.  I love to read, and also we watch TV every evening so I usually have something to say in the Library or Television folders.  Also, there was something I've been meaning to post in the Music folder, but now I can't remember what it was or why I was going to post it?  It will come to me! (I hope?)

When Norm was in Germany, he sent home a set of Rosenthal "Pine Needles".  I preferred a rosebud pattern, but wanted a white background instead of the cream that was available.  I paid for the china.  I think I wanted a rosebud pattern because I have an MS (X?) Austria plate that my grandmother brought with her and I wanted something similar.  I love my everyday dishes and have had them since 1945.  That was when Grandma came to live with us and Dad's brother and wife were coming to visit.  Our hodge-podge of dishes was not fit to use when they would be here so I bought Johnson Bros with American photos on the plates - Niagara Falls, for one, and we use them every day.

Did I mention that I look at Grand Haven at night and see the catwalk lit up?

Marilyne, basically, the article suggested hanging plates on a wall in a "pleasing' pattern and using cups, sugar bowls, turreens, etc. as planters for small house plants. I only have my own pattern and a combination of my grandmothers' plain white (different brands - similar pattern) china and can't see any possibility of using anything as a "decorative piece".  Guess I'll leave the disposition to whoever cleans out my cabinets after I'm out of the picture.

Has anyone else noticed that the YouTube web cams for the St. Clair River have changed "addresses"?  Fortunately, I caught the link posted in one of the chats and have changed it in My Favorites.
Here it is:  https://www.youtube.com/streamtimelive

One reason I don't post anywhere any more often than I do is that I'm usually reading on my Tablet and it's harder to use the keyboard and a stylus on there than do regular typing on the pc keyboard.  After all - my pc is a whole 25 feet away from the recliner!  ::)  ( I heard that "Lazy!: comment !!!!  :2funny: )

MarsGal

Good Morning everyone!

This morning I found this interesting short illustrating how one of those self-discharging bulk carriers gets the cargo back out of the ship. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ud6QiHw7SU0

George's mom had a collection of depression glass, some of which I would have liked to have, but I didn't ask. Among her pieces were the rarer pink glass. I think they, along with his dad's Jim Beam bottle and stein collection, the silver service pieces, and the gold silverware service all got sold for a bulk price to the local auction house along with the antique furniture and antique Christmas decorations, etc.

My Mom was not one hang on to things, but she did keep remaining pieces of a favorite Staffordshire china set and the Japanese bone china set that Uncle Lou sent to us when he was stationed in Japan. I have the Japanese set now, though packed away. In fact, most of my extensive mug collection is still packed in boxes for lack of a proper place to display them that the cats won't disturb or enough kitchen shelves to store them.

It is another wet morning here, but I expect it to clear out later on. It is 53o and is expected to get to 67o. I might start going through more boxed stuff in the upstairs back room before I take the air conditioners out of the windows for the winter. George thinks I should just keep them in and cover them. I tried that several times, but never seem to get them covered well enough to keep a draft out. But considering my arthritis doesn't get any better, I may just try it again this year.

Good morning from the Interior! The weather hasn't changed, and the cat and I have both fed and showered. My mother had two sets of china, both Lennox, but the one I remember had a grey trim and small pink rosebuds.

She also had a nice teacup collection with different patterns and a
milk glass collection. In later years, when Corelle came out, she used that, and her china stayed in the hutch. When they were making their wills, we were asked what we would like, and all of that went to my older sister.

MarsGal, thanks for the link!   MaryAnn, I've recently noticed some new Michigan cams, not on the water but in town. A railroad crossing in Portland and a street view in South Haven, and in Marshall. It's barely seven AM here, so I'm off to see what needs doing.

SCFSue

Good morning, Bait and Tacklers.  I'm still sitting here in my "nighty" while looking in at the different posts.  My every 2 week cleaning lady was here earlier.  She (and I helped) changed the sheets on my bed, dusted all the furniture, damp mopped my hardwood floors and was out of here in about 35 minutes.  Now I need to go into the laundry room and put the sheets into the dryer.

It's going to be another scorcher here in Auburn.  We're having unusually hot days right now.  I hope to get my walk in before the heat is just too high!

Have a nice day, Every One.
Sue

P.S.  Hi Angel Face.  I was typing when you were checking in.  I hope you have a nice day!

This was haircut and shampoo day.  When finished, I joined Tom, Jan and her mother.  Tom and Jan did most of the talking so her mother and I sat there like bumps on a log.  Jan's mother's memory is going, but she still is aware of what is going on.  And she can follow the conversation but just not add anything.  Depending on the conversation, I do not add anything either.

My stylist got my sweater and top wet when she washed my hair and they are still damp.  I don't mind, but I can still feel them.  It isn't her fault; it is that I am too short for the chair and wash area.

Robin will be here later and she will change my bed.  I have a few other things for her to do too.

Patricia, you'd laugh at me, but this morning I looked at the YouTube site for Lake Hood and I was surprised o see it was still dark.  It was 11:30 am here and about 7:30 in Alaska.  If it is dark at 7:30 here, it certainly in in Alaska.  I have not noticed the new cams in Michigan.  Portland is where many family members will meet next month to meet the new boy to be born next week.

It's another lovely day today and we are in the low 60s now.

It Was a little cooler this morning but the temps are climbing for an afternoon high of 90.

Callie, I read an article about using the china for various types of art.  The most interesting thing in the article I read was about the woman who noticed a perfectly good old set of china on the curb waiting for trash pickup.  She took the china and came up with a novel idea of using the plates in two and three tiered dessert stands.  She started a business making the dessert stands out of old china plates and is doing very well with the business.  She also has come up with ways of using other china pieces.  There were photos of her dessert stands and they were so pretty and useful.

Things are very quiet here in our little town.  However at certain times of the day we have a lot of traffic with cars going to and from the gulf coast.  A lot of local people work in the Destin and beyond areas and have to go thru Niceville to cross the Midbay bridge.  The city hall, library and other county government is off the main road and no traffic there.  Such a small town and I have been surprised with how much motor traffic moves thru this area.

I have an appointment with a Hematologist the end of the month and amazed at how much paperwork I have had to fill out.  They probably won't even look at half of it, but it has to be done.  I was unhappy that I have to go to the county seat 20 or so miles away to see a hematologist and then read this morning that in one rural area there is only one medical doctor to cover 11,000 square miles.  Shame on me for complaining.

Patricia, really enjoyed reading your posts about Alaska.  That is one of the few states that we missed during our traveling years.

Hope everyone is enjoying the day.  Have a good one!

Mary Ann - you got your haircut over and done with, and I went out early and got my flu shot!  That's something I usually put off until toward the end of October, but decided to get it over with a little earlier.  Nobody at Safeway Pharmacy except for me, but I still had to wait, which I hate.  I'm an impatient person!  The pharmacist tried to talk me into getting the shingles vaccine, but I didn't want to get it today.  I may get it in a couple of weeks.  I had a light case of shingles when I was in my early 60's, but I know that doesn't give me forever protection.

MarsGal - I would have also been interested in George's Mom's collection of Depression Glass. I love that old glassware - especially the pink.  I have quite a few pieces that I have on display in a small china cabinet.  Antique Christmas decorations are also highly sought after.

Patricia - In spite of all of my many sets of dishes, I also use Corelle, for our everyday meals. I used to cycle through  all of the old sets, but now that I'm old, they are too heavy for me to manage comfortably, as far as loading the dishwasher or putting them away in the cupboard.  Also,  I now have a tendency to drop things, so I avoid picking up and carrying anything heavy.  Corelle is lightweight, and almost unbreakable!

Amy - We are on high alert for fires here, so our utility company is going to try turning off electricity in danger areas, when the humidity gets low, and the wind comes from the East.  Tomorrow (Wednesday) is predicated to be a high danger day, so we may be without electricity during the day and night.  :(

A friend sent me one of those flyover videos, and I couldn't find one to return. But
I did post this one. It has two Interior videos in the page's middle.

Flajean,  I forgot about using old china for tiered dessert stands.  That was mentioned in the article and I think "a lady" who has a business making them was also mentioned.   Where she lives may have also been mentioned but, unfortunately, the papers have already gone to the recycle bin and I can't check the facts.
The article also mentioned using plates for holiday treat gifts. That sounds  like a "regifting" situation that could eventually circle back to the original owner.  ;D

One of the guys who successfully auditioned for The Voice last night was from Niceville FL. I was about 3/4 listening and didn't catch his name.  Maybe they'll mention him in tonight's episode - or it will make the local paper.

Another lovely Fall day in central Oklahoma - but due to change in the next 48 hours or so.  Snow has even been mentioned - but just in the far northwest part of the state, which is far enough away that I don't plan to get out the parka....yet.

Wishing Everyone an Enjoyable Day.
