We are having some nice weather.  Things are pretty much the same here.  We only go to the grocery store so not much excitement.

Marilyne, I hope AJ got thru his operation OK.

Because of the pandemic so many things are shut down in our little town.  Yesterday we had to go to a different town to get our passports renewed.  Since our oldest daughter and family live in Canada, we thought we better get them renewed because you never know what may happen in the future.
To get my driver's license renewed I have to make an appointment and also go to a nearby town for that.

I notice the Goldfinches are back.  Am seeing them regularly at the feeders. They are only here during the winter months.  Sometimes we see some unusual birds that only winter here but I guess it is a little too early yet.

I wonder if Jackie got her "jab".  Maybe she will post soon and let us know how everything is going.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Shirley

Jean, what do you feed the goldfinches?  I see them down along the river during OUR season with them but never at the feeder I see from my kitchen window (I'm always at the sink & do love that window). I put a general type bird food in the feeder because the squirrels clean it out regularly. We have lots of cardinals, blue jays, sparrows, house finches, doves & few other types that like the mixture, but several of the people that used to feed all the time have died, so many more hungry birds now. One neighbor always kept grape jam/jelly in a feeder for the Baltimore Orioles but I'm not going to start that. The humming bird feeder got put away because ants invaded something awful.

I also have to renew my driver's license soon & quite an ordeal to do it from the card I got in the mail. Got the title work taken care of this week, awful what the county/state get for the tag & that tax... sales tax was a choker.

Had a call from my best friend here in town, same age as I am.. she's in the hospital after passing out last night. Said she messed up her face .. so went to the ER & tested positive for COVID... She's been sick for more than a week but sure it was something she has every year... allergies.... and ended up being dehydrated but feeling much better already. She hopes so go home tomorrow. I hope she does as well as she thinks.

I got ambitious today & cleaned the sliding door here in the family room, where I look out when on the computer. Also that front window over the sink in the kitchen & the double entry doors. Had a mess to start, forgot Lesson #1... don't try to clean windows when the sun is shining on them... I tried ammonia water & it dried as soon as the mop went up & down, before I could squeegee, off so mud streaks ... Windex didn't work, either. So I tackled the double front storm doors, since they & the window were in the shade. Looks sparkling clean. Left the ladder & equipment out back so I can do that door before the sun gets overhead. Not going to do the rest of the sliders or windows, they don't bother me that much!  ;)

I'm worn out, youngest son usually tries to come over on Wed evening. He never wants to eat but when I have something he really likes he does. He works out & says it's harder if he eats first. Tonight I deviled 4 eggs for him to take home & sent some Velveeta cheese dip & guacamole dip from Sam's Club.. spicier than most I tasted... so he & girl friend can enjoy while watching TV. I always fix more than I can eat so keep my sons supplied.

Wishing all a better tomorrow, better year ahead... this year has not been nice at all.

MarsGal

Good morning everybody. This morning I was up a little earlier then normal, only a half hour, but it made a difference in my Tembe cam viewing. I counted five adult zebra and two foals, six elephants, a family of waterbuck, and a herd of either nyala or kudu, I couldn't tell which (yet). Last night there was a male, female and baby impala family that occupied the spotlight most of the time I checked (when I was switching back and forth between while waiting for Elon Musk's "backyard project" to go boom; I wasn't disappointed). I have determined that it gets dark at Tembe when it is around noon here on the East Coast and the sun rises there sometime around 11pm here.

The cats and I will feast on turkey for Christmas. They refuse to eat canned turkey cat food, but are always eager to get a share of fresh roasted bits. I still only have one decoration out so far.

Not much else to report this last week or so.

FlaJean

A sunny and cool day here.  Everything quiet here so far.

Shirley, my husband takes care of the birds.  He buys several different kinds of feed, dried mealworms for the bluebirds, sunflower seeds, nuts and berries mix, and another kind.  They eat better than we do. 😊.  But he loves the birds and we both enjoy seeing them fly in and out.

I hope Beverly is doing OK.  We haven't heard from her in a while.

Gigi and Jeff have their outside Christmas decorations up with little candle lights along the walk and lights along the roof.  We just don't bother anymore except a wreath on the door.  We did manage to put our little tree and a couple of things on the hearth and a neighbor brought us a pretty red poinsettia yesterday.  That is it for us.

HAPPY HANUKKAH!

Marilyne

MarsGal - I spent a long time this morning watching the Tembe cam.  It said 5:30 pm there, so was still light, and the pond was crowded with six or seven giraffes, including a couple of babies.  I love to watch them bend over to drink!  Way in the back by the trees, I saw a herd of some dark furry looking animals, but couldn't tell what they were?  I haven't seen any elephants yet.

Jean - I don't think there are any Goldfinch's, in N. California?  I looked at all the pictures online, and I'm sure I've never seen one.  I'd love to see something so bright and colorful.  All of our birds are very drab in color, except for the blue Scrub Jays.  I hope you get some photos to show us?

Neither AJ or I are doing too well this week.  His hand has not healed like it should, or like it did in the past surgeries.  Covid is so bad here, that doctors are not seeing patients at all.  Only Zoom appointments . . .  I hate those things!  My ENT doctor is calling in a prescription for me for a Z-Pak.  I hope to feel better by tomorrow?  AJ is waiting for a call from his hand doctor.

Still no rain. North Bay Area has had about a half inch - none here in the South.  Dry and warm during he day and cold at night.  I finally bought a humidifier for the bedroom, but it doesn't seem to be helping either one of us.  Sorry for all the complaints!

I hope we hear from Beverly today?  Also Jenny and Callie and the other missing S&F members!

MarsGal

Maryline, I've had Z-Pack several times. They worked really well for what ailed me, but I forget what.

I checked the Tembe cam a little while back, before dark there anyway, and was rewarded with five giraffe's. They sure were skittish. One in particular seemed very finicky about getting a drink. It didn't want to get right up to the water and most of the times it tried to bend down, it seemed insecure of its footing and backed off. Other than that I haven't taken the time to stop and visit the ship cams when there were a bunch on the St. Clair. Shortly, I will be able to catch two or three at Marine City and Algonac.

CallieOK

Good "mornnoon" (it's right at 12:00 CST  ;) )

Sorry I've been missing.  You'd wouldn't think I'd have a problem finding time for anything but the hours seem to slip by in a hurry.  Maybe that's because I'm never IN a hurry!!!!  :D

I spent most of last weekend putting out decorations I could  manage by myself...or thought I could!  Grumbled quite a bit remembering when I could do all of what I did and more in less than one day.  :(  >:(
Thank goodness, my massage lady came and helped "iron out" the kinks.

Then tried to start on Christmas cards but had to clear off other desk work before I could do so. That included getting some gift cards on-line, some of which have to be printed out.  All but one have arrived and "tracking" says it's "in transit".

Today is absolutely gorgeous but rain/snow/whoknowswhatelse is supposed to move in overnight - and Miss Emily is coming for lunch tomorrow.  Also needed to pick up a med refill and get some cash at the bank.  Just got home from doing that and AM going to get busy with the cards after lunch.  :knuppel2:

Miss Emily is coming because I'm not going to Kansas for her Commencement Exercises next week and wanted to give her a card and gift in person.
I'll be able to watch the ceremony on-line and you'll probably hear me cheering when she's officially "Dr. Emily".

I was able to see the giraffes at Tembe this morning and rewound to see some of the elephants.  Was able to watch filming of either a movie or a t.v. show on one of the Times Square webcams earlier this week.  Spent about an hour and half watching them do retakes of a couple walking along talking with extras going here and there plus all the workers alongside the filming area.  There were 4 guys dressed like "super heroes" but I never did see them actually acting.
Ellen said that was unusual because companies don't really like to use Times Square for filming.  However, there haven't been the usual crowds during weekdays.

I'm sure my birds are feeling neglected.  I've about given up trying to keep the squirrels off the feeder.  Ran out of seed and, since I've put seed and a new feeder with nothing to cling to on the sides on my Christmas list, have about decided to just leave it empty for a while.
I only put black oil sunflower seed in the big feeder because I have 6 pairs of cardinals and quite a few other birds that like them. Also have a tube feeder with safflower seeds and suet feeders with fruit added to the seed.  I know squirrels don't like safflower and, so far, they've left the suet alone because it doesn't have the black sunflower seed.

Off to do something Useful.

I am another one that has enjoyed the  Tembe cam. Watching the way the giraffe tries to get a drink, one bending legs while another spread the for t legs to get at the water.

Marilyn, hope you both feel better soon.

Good afternoon from another Interior snowy day. I've been a grump after dealing with various internet support staff who don't know one end from the other.

Last night I watched a live Youtube event where a giraffe gave birth. And we think we had it hard.

Now on to input my Hanukkah and Christmas greetings in Cards.

patricia19

And my day is done. I added two Christmas cards and one Hanukkah to cards, I miss the days when Bubble, Phyllis, Gloria, and I were the cardmakers per Pat, and we did birthdays and all types of greetings. Sometimes others would drop in to add their own greetings before lack of interest shut us down.

I also added two more rosy photos in pictures.

Good morning EVERYFRIEND from snowy and cold Colorado 🌨 ❄️

HAPPY HANUKKAH, BUBBLE and FAMILY, and anyone else that celebrates this special holiday.

Unfortunately, I have already lost a long post of my catching up after being AWOL for a few days. It was much too long anyway, but dern it make me mad when I loose a post I have been working on for so long😤. The telephone rang and I was on it for quite awhile.....and when I returned it had POOF.....gone away, and even though I had saved it I could not bring it back!

Sadly, the telephone call was to tell us one of our Boston Granddoggies is going over Rainbow 🌈 Bridge at 5 PM EST.  My heat aches for the family as this is so very hard to have to do and is the first time the two grandsons have to experience this😩😪 It is still a blessing that we can do this for our animals, as hard as it is to do.

CALLIE, happy to read Miss Emily will be visiting you today....please give her my congratulations on becoming Dr. Emily.

MARILYNE, I am sorry that you are feeling a bit under the weather and that AJ'S hand does not seem to be healing as well as it did the last time he had this done.  I hope you both feel much better soon.

SHIRLEY, happy to read that you have your new car all paid up and ready to roll.  These days with Covid restrictions it has been a real problem for car and driver license renewals and the like.  Good luck to you on renewing your license.  We need to do our passports and I am starting to wonder if we even need to do it as I am not sure we will ever be going out of the country again😪

Our CA son has just been chosen to be one of 15 PGA Professionals to be on a two year board, and Dr. Dave just finished his two year MBA program, so has a few more letters to go behind his name.  We are proud of both of their accomplishments.  So nice to be able to have something to smile about with all the sadness going on these days.  Dave will not be attending the commencement ceremonies due to Covid restrictions.  He has graduated so many times already, that I do not think he minds missing this one 🥰

I wish you all a good rest of your Friday, and please take care and be safe from this awful virus😩

Jenny - congratulations to both of your sons!  Moving up in their chosen fields, shows that they are both good at what they do, and they are being recognized for their efforts!  I know you and Bob are very proud of them . . . and proud your other family members as well!

Both AJ and I are feeling better today.  He had to go back for some stitches, and a  pressure bandage, so he feels very relieved.  I started my Z-Pak yesterday, and I think it's beginning to take effect!

Patricia - I've enjoyed looking at the lovely Holiday cards that you and Bubble have created, in the Card Shop.  I hope everyone visits that folder, and takes a look.  I also liked seeing your latest pictures in  Photos!  Something about the pale pink sky looks so very cold.  I know it IS very cold, and glad that you and Farrah are safe and warm.

Callie - such a nice long message from you!  Lot of good things happening in your family this month.  Congratulations to Dr. Emily!  Too bad you won't be going to her graduation, but this is definitely not the time to travel out of town.  I remember last Christmas, when you had that fun trip to see Miss Ellen, in the Christmas musical!  I hope she is doing okay in NYC, and hasn't lost her job to the closures again?  I don't think NY has closed down as tightly as we have here in California?

Amy and MarsGal - I looked at the Tembecam for a while last night before I went to bed.  It was early morning there, but nobody had arrived at the pond yet.  I do see lots of activity in the background amongst those trees, but can't tell what they are?

The rain/sleet/whatever turned out to be very light drizzle that cleared away by late morning.

Shirley, such a hassle with the car - and the windows - and the leaves - etc. etc.    I agree with those who use vinegar for cleaning windows.  The angle at which the HOA sprinklers are set (which I can't change) leaves a "scum" on my back windows and vinegar takes it right off - plus keeps it from forming again for a while.  Don't know how long I'd lived here before I found out that the bottom panes can be lowered to the inside for cleaning without having to take off the screens.

Jenny,  I'm so sorry about your granddoggie.  We've only had two fur babies; one went to a new home when we left Colorado but we had to have the one we had here put down because he developed diabetes and complications.  It was so hard.

Congratulations to your two sons.  I also have a Brag.

While Miss Emily and I were enjoying lunch, she received e-mails saying....Well, I'll just quote her post on Facebook:
Officially checked off two more requirements this week on becoming Dr. Emily with the passing of the Oklahoma Jurisprudence Exam and Part 4 (and final) Boards! 🥳
Last stop: GRADUATION! 🎓

Not only that, but she told me she has had offers to join the staff of the chiropractor where she's been interning - as well as joining the practice of a family friend.
So proud and happy that things are going so well for her.

Marilyne,  So glad you and AJ are feeling better and hope each of you continues to improve.

Miss Ellen is doing just fine in NYC!  The store where she worked when she first moved to NY contacted her to see if she was available. She works almost every day and the store arranged her hours so she gets off in time to continue her Nanny job seeing a girl home from school and staying until the Mom gets home. She will return to work after she goes back from her Christmas visit home.
Recently, she and her long-time roomie took the third one (who moved to NYC  earlier this year) to "experience" her first Christmas in Rockefeller Center.
She called her sister this afternoon for a "consultation: because she was out Christmas shopping.

I got on the Tembecam this morning to see three rhinos chase the giraffes away from the pond - twice. The giraffes kept trying to sneak back.  Only problem was that the camera kept moving away from the animals.  I guess it was on "automatic".

Good evening.  Dreary day here again and we are now getting more snow.

CALLIE, thank you for the kind and understanding words regarding the family pet.  The remaining doggie is just lost today with the loss of his buddy that has been there his entire life😩😤

Sadly, we learned that a dear family friend from our Scottsdale Life passed away today.  It upset all of our family as we were very close.  Two of their two boys are the same age as out two youngest.  We do not know what he passed from, but I sure hope it was not Covid!  I just heard Charlie Pride passed away today also....

I got quite a few gifts wrapped today....two have to be mailed so we hope we can do that tomorrow or on Monday for sure.  Many PO's are suppose to be open Sunday we heard.

MARILYNE, happy to read you and AJ are feeling better.....hope that continues.  Thank you for the supportive word about our sons....yes, we are very proud of both of them.

One of our local restaurants closed their doors today....the put all of the furniture out side and filled a outdoor fountain with bottles of wine for the taking....how sad.  So many businesses just can not make it with the restrictions they are under for no indoor dining.  I feel very sad for them today.

Pleasant dreams to you all.

Marilyne

Got up early this morning, looked outside the slider in the kitchen, and saw a beautiful sight!  RAIN!   I stepped out on the deck, and took a couple of deep breaths . . . that fresh clean smell was so refreshing.

Yesterday, we enjoyed an early Christmas celebration, outside on our son and dil's lovely backyard patio. The have comfortable furniture, and those tall heat lamps, so it was a pleasure to be there once again.  Besides the four of us, Sandy was there, and Shelley and Claire drove over from Merced.  Ordinarily, they come to our house for a few days over Christmas, but this year they're driving up to her oldest daughter's house, (our oldest granddaughter), near Lake Tahoe.  Shelley hasn't seen her grandkids, since they came to our house for dinner last Christmas, so she is anxious to spend time with them.

I think I mentioned before that our dil's mother, is very sick with a debilitating neurological illness, so they will be going there for Christmas. Jackie, (dil) has three sisters and one brother, and they are all coming to see their Mom for the holiday.  So Brad and Jackie will be very busy with her extended family, and of course with her Mom & step dad.  Her step-dad has three daughters, and two of them will there as well.  :o   With all those people, I don't know WHAT they can possibly do as far as staying safe from Covid is concerned??  I shudder to think of all those people coming from far and wide, so I'm trying not to dwell on it!

Jenny - Nice to see you checking in here yesterday.  You were the only one, so it was double nice!     Sorry to hear about the passing of your family friend.  Most of our old friends are gone now, and the ones who are left, are not doing well at all.   I keep telling myself that that is the way life is meant to be.   I understand, but it's so very difficult.

patricia19

Good morning from an Interior with no current events. The weather is the same, flitting between highs and lows, and the lockdown remains in effect as those surging new cases and deaths are climbing. There are only so many photos I can take out my balcony of rosy skies and snow altho there's still plenty to see.

Without my local daily calls and texts and my Kindle or computer, those silent halls and empty streets would have me raving so much more than I or most of us could withstand. Farrah has been my confidant, psychiatrist, and source of entertainment.

Jenny, I'm so sorry for your loss. Many times in our lives, acquaintances become family and are as hard to lose.

Marilyne, RAIN! Did you do a little rain dance to keep it coming? How wonderful a Christmas gift! You're lucky in your family and that they're in such proximity. My family is scattered hither and yon, having left long ago. We exchanged money cards and club accounts for many years until I stopped it this summer.

They're all doing well, and those cheese, fruits, and coffees of the month were more than I wanted or needed. I've gotten Christmas cards, which is nice when most of them, in their forties and thirties, haven't seen me since childhood. Two of them have settled permanently in Europe. My local friends' circle is family, many of us dating back 51 years and earlier to school and exes.

The scams have already started re the vaccine. Remember

1. You likely will not need to pay anything out of pocket to get the vaccine during this public health emergency.

2. You cannot pay to put your name on a list to get the vaccine.

3. You cannot pay to get early access to the vaccine.

4. No one from Medicare or the Health Department will contact you.

5. No one from a vaccine distribution site or health care payer, like a private insurance company, will call you asking for your Social Security number, your credit card, or bank account information to sign you up to get the vaccine.

6. Beware of providers offering other products, treatments, or medicines to prevent the virus.

7. Check with your health care provider before paying for or receiving any COVID-19-related treatment.

8. If you get a call, text, email — or even someone knocking on your door — claiming they can get you early access to the vaccine, STOP. That's a scam.

Amy

Patricia, there are those in this world that would try to pull off these scams and unfortunately there are those that would fall for them.

Marilyne, that sounded like the perfect and safe celebration for Christmas!! Nothing nicer than the fresh scent of rain.

Today, I am getting away on my own to get my husbands Christmas gift. What I have in mind may take some doing if I get it as I need to hide it out of sight. Guess that bridge will be crossed when I get there..

Enjoy your day and stay safe..

Patricia, I forgot to tell you ,the other night when watching the news they had a couple on from Alaska. They would go on a walking trial with their llamas!! They had 3 beautiful llamas that had ropes tying them together ,one had a pack, which I assume had water and some snacks. Other participants of the trail said they had never come across  this before but thought it rather unique to see. I didn't catch the area in Alaska though. :(

Just stopping in to say HELLO and see what is going on in here?

We kept busy today getting more gifts wrapped.  Still more to do tomorrow and then a couple more will be delivered before we are done.

MARILYNE, how wonderful to read that you did get some rain.  Your early Christmas Celebration with the family sounded very nice.  So happy you were all able to get together and enjoy some special time together.

We did manage to get more gifts wrapped today....and will do a few more tomorrow.  Then we can take a break until two more arrive on Thursday.  I can not believe how quickly this month is asking.

AMY, hoping your shopping trip today was successful and you found the gift for Kyle and have it safely stored so he can not see it!  I have a friend here that owns a couple of Llams and they walk them just as you said the couple did in Alaska.  We once had a neighbor that grew Llamas ....cannot remember now why she and her husband had them but Bob seems to think it was just a hobby.  They had quite a bit of money and she supplied all of the horses for the mounted police in our county.  She paid for their living spot as well as their food and care.  She was a wonderful lady.  She lived in the condo building that we lived in but pets were not allowed so her cat lived in another condo near by.

It is late....pleasant dreams to all.

Bummer! We are to get 12" to 18" (maybe even 20") of snow. It is only just now starting to flurry lightly. Hopefully there will be enough to bother going out to scrape off the sidewalk this afternoon so as not to have so much to do tomorrow. It actually isn't going to make much difference because this is a snow emergency route and the plows have a habit of throwing the snow right up onto the sidewalk again.

George is under the weather. Sounds like he has one of his periodic sinus infections. He won't be going up to Mansfield on Thursday as he planned, that's for sure. I expect the Governor will be declaring a snow emergency and shutting down the roads. I already told the mailman to hold my mail for a day or two until I get shoveled out, but if the roads are closed, he won't be attempting to wade through the snow to deliver. I sure hope the electric doesn't go down.

Sue and Jim are celebrating their 33rd wedding anniversary today. I forget what she is making for dinner, lobster, I think. For Christmas she is doing Cornish Hen. I've got my turkey breast to do for Christmas. The cats will be very pleased. Don't know yet whether or not George will be joining us. Hard to believe it is only nine days away.

Marilyne

MarsGal - Looks like you'll be confined to quarters, for the next week or so!  I hope you can enjoy the Winter Wonderland from inside your warm house, with no loss of electricity.  Sorry to hear that George is not feeling well, and probably has a sinus infection.  I can relate, because that's what my problem was last week, when I was prescribed the Z-Pack.  I'm prone to getting sinus problems in the Winter, when the air is super dry.  I hope he feels well enough by Christmas, to join you for your turkey dinner.    Congratulations to Sue and Jim, on their wedding anniversary!

Jenny - Our rain "storm" was short lived and only left us a half inch.  :(  Better than nothing, so I'm definitely not complaining.  No rain in sight for as far ahead as they can predict, so we'll have to set the sprinklers again!
I hope all is well, or at least stable, as far as Michele is concerned?  Last time you mentioned her, she was having a bad time with her maintenance chemo?

AMY - Many families with llamas, here where I live.  Not in my neighborhood, because we are almost right in town, with smaller lot sizes.  However, in our surrounding rural mountain areas are lots of ranches, with plenty of land, for horses, and farm animals.  Llamas are popular, and I hear they are very gentle, and make nice pets.  I hope you found the perfect Christmas gift for Kyle!

Good mid-morning from an Interior at plus four. We have been bouncing between pluses and minuses for the past couple of weeks, never straying far from zero. There has been absolutely nothing worth noting other than yesterday, graders and dump trucks finally broke up and cleared away the snow left on the sides of the roads and even sidewalks since that freak storm in early November.

They spent all day in the streets in my neighborhood. My pessimistic side says it happened due to all the rain and resultant ice, while my more pragmatic side says they're short-handed and finally found the cash and workforce. I hate it when I can't get in a good sulk just because of that bully, reason.

We also have llamas and alpacas here and have for some time in the local farms and wood bison and Icelandic and miniature horses. Llamas are not that nice. They tend to be grumpy, and they spit with perfect aim.

Jenny, I'm hoping Michele is doing better with her meds. Have they found a better combination for her?

MarsGal, I'm sorry to hear George is under the weather. It's probably good for him to stay home, especially nowadays.

I, too, have sinuses issues and finally broke down some weeks ago and bought a humidifier, which has made a huge difference. Yesterday was the last day of my food restrictions, and while I didn't want to start them in the holidays, I've felt so much better; more sleep and better skin and attitude that I don't want to go off the restrictions! The only problem that was promised was weight loss, and I think it was because fresh, non chemically addicted food is, well, addicting!.

Good evening 🎁

We watched the national news tonight and they were showing all the bad weather headed up the Eastern Coast.....sure hope you all are safe and keeping warm.

Another busy day that came and went quickly.

MARILYNE, Michele has started the chemo pill regiment again and as far as I know it is going OK.  She will see the oncologist this week. Thank you for asking.

PATRICIA, I have heard about the perfect aimed spit of a Llama🤣 Thank goodness I have never seen or felt it in person🤪. Thank you for asking about Michele.  She will see the oncologist this week and hopefully I will hear a report on how these meds are working for her.  Glad you got a humidifier and that is seems to be helping with the sinus issue.  We talked to our Boston son yesterday and he is not feeling well at all.  He thinks he just has a bad cold/sinus issue but he went to get a Covid test just in case.  The children can not go to school until he gets the report.  He was to hear this morning, but at 2PM he still had not heard.  We are holding good thoughts.

SASHA, it is a funny thought about the kitty living in its own condo!  Betty, the owner passed away a few months back and we still talk about that kitty!

Have a good rest of your evening and pleasant dreams to all.

I just looked to see what the snowfall count is as of this morning. The local paper says Enola led in Cumberland and Dauphin Counties as of 8:45pm last night with with a recording of eight inches. That is about the time I noticed that the snow had turned to sleet/freezing rain which, in the end, kept the depth of the snow at lower levels than expected. I also noticed that the township has been scraping the snow/ice from our road this time rather than the state vehicles which means, so far, that they haven't yet pushed the snow onto the side walks. If the state plow have been through, it would have pushed the snow farther off the road. I guess the state is concentrating on the more major routes for the time being. Eventually they will show up and force me to shovel off the sidewalk a second time.

George has been calling twice a day to give me an update. He sounded a little better yesterday morning, and sounded like the congestion was loosening up last evening.

Lucy isn't eating well again. She seems to have her own sinus infection going strong again, so she isn't eating much of her wet food. That means she is not getting enough of her thyroid meds. If it is still going on after the snow melts some, she is getting another trip to the vets for a shot. His practice is on a hill I don't want to negotiate until the snow clears. Both she and Oscar had runny eyes which seem to have cleared, but their noses are still a problem.

MarsGal - Looks like the weather predictions were correct, and you're getting hit hard in PA.  I haven't turned on the news yet this morning, but will also check The Weather Channel.  They might be featuring your part of the State.
Sounds like George is doing much better . . . did he get an antibiotic from his doctor, or is he toughing it out?  Sorry your cats are having health issues, as well.  Not a good time to drive to the Vet, but I know you will if they get worse.

Jenny - I hope we hear from you today, that your Boston son tested NEGATIVE for Covid!   The ugly virus is totally out of control here in California.     Last night, the local news was just so frightening!  Our ICU's are mostly full here, and there are a lot more fatalities, than in past surges.  :'(    Nothing we can do, except to stay home, and follow directions from our County Health Department.

Patricia - I wonder if we possibly ordered the same humidifier?  I looked on Amazon, and was confronted by at least a hundred or more selections!  :o   What does one do, when confronted with so any choices!  I didn't want to go with the cheapest, or the most expensive, so sort of hit in the middle, with one that had good recommendations. it's called either Pore, or Pure.  Hard to distinguish whether its an O or a U?

Sasha - like you, I did a lot of speculating about the cat and the condo?  :D   Did the cat live alone in a condo, all by itself?   Inquiring minds want to know!

Marilyne, I doubt you will see much on PA weather as it is mostly moved on to the Northeast, but Jim Cantori was in Philly reporting and there was someone, Ed something?, who was reporting from Harrisburg last night for The Weather Cnannel.

The sun is shining quite brightly today and the snow, 8" to 10" of it in my yard seems to be melting rather well, considering. I reshoveled from the house to the main walk and off the porch again. Then my neighbor who got a new electric snow blower, let me try it on the rest of the walk way and behind the car. "I want one of those". It was light and easier to use than I thought. I brushed off the car windows and the front hood. I still need to finish the car and clean off the road behind my car sometime before Monday, when my monthly Amazon order of cat food and litter will show up. I almost feel like going back out this afternoon, but I already took my shower and don't want to overdo the exercise all in one day.

Denver

Good morning!  Partly cloudy here and more snow is headed our way!  Thankfully nothing like New England got😳

MARILYNE, it is true....the kitty lived alone in the condo and Mama Betty would go over daily to spend time with her and take care of her needs🤩

Just tried to call my son.....still no word regarding his Covid test😤 Doesn't he know his mama is wondering?  I did see a picture of his back yard today.....WOWZERS did they ever get the snow!

Have a good day.

Marilyne and Jenny, I didn't get the gift I was after but did get a g/c .They may get more stock in after Christmas but we shall see. The g/c is easy to hide but I am sure if the other was available the neighbours would hide it for me.

Jenny, lets hope and pray that this time the meds work for Michele and gives her no problems this time. I remember when my friend took pill form chemo  the Dr had to play around with the dosage and strength of it. Once Michele gets on a steady regime she should be ok.

We didn't get the snow.......yet...apparently it is coming this weekend. I hope it is male and gets lost as we all know men won't ask for directions :))

Patricia, if I was farming I would have the alpaca, they are so cute!!

Managed to get the marmalade finished and it looks good The recipe is here. He has a lot of fantastic recipes that take every day items that we have on hand.
