Going for my MRI Scan for my Multiple Sclerosis Wednesday 3rd Jan...

MarsGal

We are having something of a heatwave for the next four days. Right now it is 44 and heading up to 54. They are calling for Wednesday to get into the mid-60s before the temps drop back down. Sounds like a yardwork opportunity to me.

Well, that's disturbing. I was greeted, this morning, with a news report that the suspect in the Idaho murders was arrested in the Poconos on Friday. It also said he graduated from DeSales University (my Alma Mater) with a 2-year degree. Well, after my time, but still, I feel a bit embarrassed for the school.

Recipe For A Happy New Year

Take 12 fine, full-grown months; see that these are thoroughly cleansed from all old memories of bitterness, hate, and jealousy.

Cut these months into 30 or 31 equal parts.
(This batch will keep for one year. Do not attempt to make more than one batch at a time-many people spoil the entire lot in this way.)

Prepare one day at a time as follows:

Into each day, put 12 parts of faith,
11 parts of patience,
10 parts of courage,
9 parts of work
(some people omit this ingredient and spoil the flavor of the rest),
8 parts of hope,
7 parts of fidelity,
6 parts of open-mindedness,
5 parts of kindness,
4 parts of rest
( leaving this out is like leaving the oil out of the salad, "don't do it" ),
3 parts of prayer,
2 parts of meditation,
And 1 well-selected resolution.

If you have no conscientious scruples,
Add a teaspoonful of good spirits,
A dash of fun,
A pinch of folly,
A sprinkling of play,
And a heaping cupful of good humor.

Pour love liberally into the whole,
And mix with strength.
Cook thoroughly in a warming heat.
Garnish with a few smiles and a sprig of joy;
Then serve with quietness,
Unselfishness,
And cheerfulness.

A Happy New Year is a certainty.

Marilyne

THANK YOU BUBBLE!
Wouldn't the world be a wonderful place if everyone followed that recipe?
We can dream, can't we?

Jackie - Hoping all goes well with your MRI on Wednesday, showing very little progression of your MS.   Please come back and let us know the results?

Joanne/Tomereader . . . HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Hoping that your daughter is recovered from her bout with the flu, so you can spend some time with her today?     Even if she can't be with you yet, be sure to buy or make yourself a birthday cake and watch a good movie! :cake:

Tomereader1

Marilyne, going to make me some Pumpkin Bread and call it birthday cake.  My daughter has improved, but still not 100%. There is so, so much of that flu going around in this area, and it is HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS. If you can take the Nyquil Nitetime or Daytime, pick up some if your pharmacy/drugstore/grocery store has some.  There is a BIG shortage and that is NO JOKE. Also if you home test negative for Covid, your doctor will prescribe Tamiflu. My daughter uses the Tele-Doc service and they did a fantastic job of diagnosis, outlining all the symptoms and sending the prescription in to her pharmacy.(At 2:30 AM.

Tomereader1

Best Wishes and Prayers for a good outcome on the MRI!

MarsGal

A belated Happy Birthday wish for you TomeReader. Hope you had a nice day and that your daughter continues to improve quickly.

Tomereader...

Beverly

Good morning from sunny Florida.

Belated Happy Birthday Tomereader!

My granddaughter, Emilie, and her 5 month old son, Wyatt, have the flu. They tested negative for Covid and they're treating the baby with Tamiflu. They took him to the ER. I'm waiting to see how he's doing this morning

Jackie - Hope your MRI results are favorable.

Bubble - Thanks for the recipe!

Tomereader1

Thank all of you for the Birthday Wishes! Especially you, Jackie, from across the sea!  I did not watch the Ball fall in Times Square; I forgot to watch the Rose Parade.  In my heart of hearts, the only thing I actually missed was hearing Guy Lombardo's orchestra play Auld Lang Syne. To me, that signalled when the New Year actually began.  We've outlived our times I guess.

MaryPage

A belated Happy Birthday, Tomereader!  What a great start to a New Year you were for your parents!

My Christopher was a January 3 baby.  Sixty-nine years ago!  Where did it all go?

I watched the BBC at midnight.  Their fireworks were beyond amazing!
 Wow!

Denver

A good Wednesday HELLO from one of the very guilty missing posters😩😩

I have read every one of the posts and thank all of you for checking in and sharing your day's activities with us. I hope to do better in the future. It certainly isn't because I do not think about you ALL and hope you are doing well‼️

JACKIE, I,TOO, wish you the best as you wait for the results of the MRI🙏

TOME, belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY WISHES to you‼️

Last Friday I met with the oncologist who ran all of the blood work on me to see what my blood issues might be?  5
The wonderful news I got was what I was praying for, and I got it🙏🙏🙏. He questioned why I had the original bad report as I did, but he assured me that I am just fine and to move on knowing I do not have any concerns about having blood cancer‼️

Yesterday I met with my cardiologist and she assured me that I am on the right track with improving my health by starting this CPAP therapy and my weight loss and for me to continue to keep up the good work and I do not have to see her for 2 months‼️

As you can tell my days have been pretty much associated with preparing for my surgery tomorrow.  At this time tomorrow I will be being prepped for a 1 PM surgery.  I have to admit my anxiety is high, but I know I have to do this with hopes of a good outcome.  Sadly, it isn't going to be instant gratification.....not many surgeries are😩🤪 I have been doing research on this and the outcome will take month to show any improvement if there is going to be.  All I can do is pray that I will be one of the lucky ones that will have success🙏🙏 My incision is going to be quite large....I don't worry about adding more "railroad tracks" to this shoulder as there are already two good sized ones, but getting this one healed and the limitations of what I can do while it is.  Sadly my only good form of exercise is swimming and that of course is out😩 FORGIVE me for rattling on about this....I think it is meant to console myself🤪🤪🤪

I wish you all a wonderful day and the best wishes for health and happiness in 2023.
