Oldiesmann: Relevant links can be found in topics in the Homemaking, Food & Garden board. I'll see about moving them over to articles here when I get a chance.

2024-05-02, 00:07:54
Oldiesmann: Found them. They're on the CP site: https://www.christianphotographers.com/recipes/recipeindex.html

Oldiesmann: I'm not finding anything related to recipes on the site. I'll do some digging through the Internet Archive and see if I can dig them up. It's possible that got lost in the big server crash back in 2016

JeanneP: I am trying to get into the Archives of the Recipes that where moved over from Senior net few years ago, Can't find them

Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Oldiesmann: The chat can be accessed from the menu but I don't kow how often anyone is in there

We all obtain different perspectives on what we watch on the telly.  I sympathize with DeeDee's take on it.

No need to 'sympathize' with my opinion.

Like Lawson, I found the show obsequious and narcissistic.

Vanderbilt is an opportunist, and a very clever one.

Good for her.

Hi Everyone

Never heard of the person

Hi everyone on this cloudy Sunday morning here in the Southeast.  We had a brief lightning and thunder storm and some rain occur around 7 am and there is a good possibility of more later this morning.  As a result I will not need to water my yard tomorrow. We will go to Sunday School and Church this morning.  Today is youth Sunday and the youth will be doing most of the service although the Pastor told us Thursday he will be bringing about a 10 minute message.  We will likely go out to eat after church and then have a restful rest of the day.

Kelly, I hope today finds you well on your way to "chipper" if not completely there yet.  :)

Good morning everyone. We have had sunny days, cloudy afternoons and mild rainy evenings. Today looks to be more of the same.

I haven't been really sleeping, a bit depressed; but this will pass.

Good Morning Everyone from the
warm but cloudy,  soon to be rainy,
rocky coast of Maine.

I enjoyed seeing Anderson and
his Mom Gloria Vanderbilt ...

(Thanks for reminding me MaryPage , aka "MOM")
and I also enjoyed the
White House Correspondents  Diner.

Good thing about TV here in the USA,
if you don't like it,  You can shut it off
and watch something else.

Here is to FREEDOM!
And  God Bless America!!

My daughter Erin is going to be couch
hopping for a while as she tries to get
another apartment here in the City.
She will only be spending a couple of
nights a week with me.      i enjoy
having the company,  so I am looking
forward to her coming.

Have a great day,
EVERYONE!

Sandy

Kelly

Hi Larry
Hope your day is going well.

If anything I less chipper than yesterday and yesterday was not a chipper day!

Kelly

Lindancer

Good afternoon, It is May Day, with rain all day to day into tomorrow, and cool.  Only good thing no wind.

Kelly, so sorry you are not feeling chipper. :(

Patricia, I understand your feelings, it does take time, when we lose a beloved pet.. My Toby was only 3 years old when I had to put him down. I waited a month and got Taffy, not that I was replaceing him, but I needed something to take care of, and say goodmorning too.

Hi Lindancer
Thanks for best wishes.

Hope you have a good day.

Sandy

Kelly,

I am so sorry to hear that you are
down in the dumps  and hope that
you start to feel better soon.

I have been fighting off an upper
respiratory infection for a few days,
but it looks like things are getting
better now.

It is that time of the year again when
Spring viruses  take hold and go on
and on for quite a while.

I hope everyone is feeling better soon !

Mary Ann

MaryPage, thank you for what you wrote about the Vanderbilt/Cooper document.  Gloria Vanderbilt was part of my childhood.  Not that we knew each other; of course, we did not, but she is two months older than I am.  I read papers and magazines in those days and during the trial the papers were filled of news of her.

I watched the Washington Press dinner until after the President's talk.  I did not think he was a funny as he might have been.  I went to bed shortly after he finished.

Damp and chilly here today - 52 degrees.  Dot and I went to church, the OTB.  And that may be my activity for the day.

Mary Ann

MaryPage

I did not think the President was as funny as usual, either, Mary Ann.  But it was enjoyable to see everyone.  More someones than I am accustomed to seeing in one place at one time!  I did think the sketch with Boehner was funny.  No one expected that, and their quips were hilarious.  I felt as though I had been filled with helium when he tried to tempt Obama with those cigarettes.  The look on Obama's face was priceless!

Sandy

I thought that it was a good
combination of President Obama's
humorous side and his serious side.

The host on the hand,   eh?
Not one of my favorites.

Kelly

Hi Sandy
Not down in the dumps, seems not being chipper means feeling down.

The problem is pain issues with the condition I have.  Best not mention how I feel in relation to my condition.

Kelly

Kelly

Hi Sandy
Sorry to hear you have an upper respiratory infection
Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Kelly

MarsGal

I hope both of you (Kelly and Sandy) are feeling better soon.

angelface555

Gloria, I totally agree with what you are saying!

I'm sorry for those feeling ill or dealing with pain and conditions and I hope everyone gets to feeling better soon!

Sandy

Thank you, everyone..

But I am fortunate to be well on my way to
recovery and soon will be able to
hold my little bundle of joy ("Fe")
in my arms.

I am just waiting to be sure  I am germ free.

Kelly

Hi angel
I will be fine with my discomfort, best I don't mention it again.

kelly

FlaJean

I always enjoy the Presidents at the Press dinners.  They have good comedy writers and are always better than the paid comedian.  The year that Nancy Reagon surprised everyone by her visit to the press club dinner and sang  Secondhand Rose was priceless.

Beverly

Kelly - Actually, this is a good place to mention the difficulties and pain we are enduring. This senior forum has always been a place to share the good and bad with our cyber friends. Norm had peripheral neuropathy and shared his ups and downs. He would be the first to ask about your problems. We are good listeners.  :)

Sandy - Sounds as if you may be having allergies. It's prime time for them in New England!

It's been a beautiful but very warm day here in Florida. A good afternoon to stay in with the A/C.

Sandy

That may be very true,  Bev....
It comes and goes very quickly for me,  unlike a
real upper respiratory infection that can last
a week or 10 days.

I just hope that it stays away long enough
for me to see "Fe"   (Ophelia).....
She is already home from the hospital!

Hi Beverly
As good as your thoughts are and I appreciate it, I was told on the old S&F I mentioned my disability too much.  Afterwards I checked and three times in three years i mentioned it.

I was trying to explain about different types of modified computer equipment, for which there is much, much more than the voice recognition I use.  Also I was going to explain about other equipment to assist with injuries to the wrist.

And to explain that you have to say what problems a computer user has.

As a person who has something to offer to assist others regarding computer use for those who are not able bodied, I feel now reluctant to mention it at all.

Thank you for you post Beverly.

Kelly.  I think what the forums want people to do is when something is getting to personal or  asking/giving advice it is better to send the person a "Personal Message"by writing about it in there first. That way it is Offline. Can be seen by just the 2 people.  Not everyone wants to read everything.

MaryPage

Oh, Patricia.  My heart hurts for the hole in your heart.  You will miss her every day forever.

Kelly, we are here for one another.  Complain away, Dear Friend.  We each have our good days and our bad ones.  If you cannot let your pals know which one you have having on any given day, then we are not your pals.

Phew!  I see a television show from time to time, but then off it goes and I open a book or a magazine.  Not so Sunday nights.  Why, oh why, do they put all of my stuff in one night?  Consider this a complaint, if you will, Kelly!  I protest having 60 Minutes (Anderson Cooper had a segment tonight) followed by Call The Midwife, followed by Grantchester, followed by Selfridge's, followed by Luther, ALL in one night!  With most shows, I can catch them another time on On Demand.  But not my PBS shows, for the most part.  Bummer!  Not fair to old ladies who need their down time from that flickering box on yonder chest!  Some nights there is nothing at all on, and my telly gets clicked off right after the evening news.  But Sunday nights are like a traffic jam right here in my very own bedroom.  There oughta be a law!

halkel

MaryPage, you don't have a recorder.  We record many shows to watch at a later time and without the commercials, of course PBS doesn't have commercials  :2funny:.  Well not most of the time "within" the programs, except when begging for money.

MaryPage

No, I have no recorder.  Hal, do you ever feel you have reached the limit in the number of gadgets you feel you can handle?

You know what just popped in my head?  A bit of what I think was a song back in the dark ages.  Did we have a song that went: "Yes, we have no bananas; we have no bananas today!" ?  If we did, what was it all about?  Just sillieness?  I kind of miss silly songs.  You never hear them these days.  The Hut Sut Song and Three Little Fishes and Mairsiedotes and Doesiedotes and so many others.

Kelly

Hi JeanneP
If you look on the boards people ask for advice on different topics, if they do then is not correct to offer advice if you have used software or hardware that might help people

I have been to 'workshops' on modified equipment and all I offer is advice if required and how it had helped me and more importantly others who attended the workshops.
