Oldiesmann: Relevant links can be found in topics in the Homemaking, Food & Garden board. I'll see about moving them over to articles here when I get a chance.

Oldiesmann: Found them. They're on the CP site: https://www.christianphotographers.com/recipes/recipeindex.html

Oldiesmann: I'm not finding anything related to recipes on the site. I'll do some digging through the Internet Archive and see if I can dig them up. It's possible that got lost in the big server crash back in 2016

Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Oldiesmann: The chat can be accessed from the menu but I don't kow how often anyone is in there

You always used to be able to use NMI or nmi or n/a or na as a middle initial.  There are literally millions of people who do not have a middle initial!

When I had my legs done last year.  Checking arteries and veins etc . The told me to start wearing Compression hose. Now I have  done that for a long time when flying or driving hundreds of miles.  She gave me a prescription to get them from the Medical centre.  $149 a pair. unbelievable. (insurance does not cover them only if problems with Diabetes). Passed on those. The one on a company on a . web sight. Can't think of the name they sell some at $49.  There are the ones that cost less. I have some that work quite well and so will stick with them.
Legs do feel good if you wear them.  My mother had a deep vein problem and died from  blood clots and so I watch mine good.

I sure miss my Spell Check.

Thanks, Bubble.  My favorite ice cream flavor is coffee.  Just plain coffee.  No bumps or bits or pieces of anything in it.  Just nice smooth coffee.

Hershey's chocolate syrup goes well with it.  Not a necessity, but nice.  Has to be Hershey's and cannot be chocolate fudge.

Hey, why don't we hire a plane and ALL speed over to Tel Aviv for Bubble's ice cream social?  Let her know your favorite flavor so she can be all prepared.

Kelly

Hi MaryPage
It might mean about three flights for me to get to Tel Aviv!

Kelly

MaryPage

Oh, not in our cyber plane, Kelly.  We'll just swoop down on The Isle of Man and scoop you up.  Easy!

Kelly

I always have to pay the IRS because I don't claim any withholding during the year.  I only have federal income so don't pay any State income tax.  I just sent the check for $269 for 2015.

I figure I'd rather have the money during the year than receive it back at the end.  :)

Jaywalker, I usually have to pay both Federal and State so I was pleasantly surprised to find I get refunds from both.  MaryPage, as for using NMI or such, I tried putting in Ann and that was too many letters.  It was Turbo Tax that wanted the middle initial.  I tried putting in a zero, but I had to have a letter, not a number.  I hope it doesn't goof up my return or refund.

I hear rain outside and we are expecting snow tomorrow, but I doubt early in the morning; later when there's a lot of traffic.

Hi Nita, come and join us for ice cream.

MaryPage, I too am sticking to coffee or mocha  with no other additive.  When they insist that an order is for two flavors I'll add vanilla.

Kelly

Good morning everyone from the Isle of Man or in Manx, Ellan Vannin

HI EVERYONE     Happy to see so many familiar faces, Mary from Downunder in New Zealand where its Daylight Saving this weekend and we have to put our clocks back for Autumn. Hope you are enjoying Spring in the Northern Hemisphere, Mary

Kelly

Hi Maryde
Lots of rain and wind over the Isle of Man over the winter and also in many parts of the United Kingdom.

Kelly

Hi Kelly, we have had a lovely Summer, even though the weather was changeable today there were blue patches of sky and temp of 25 centigrade.  Global warming has had an impact but unlike some other years there has been enough rainy spells to keep our water tank topped up.  We get plenty of rain in the coming months, keeps the countryside green, Mary

so_P_bubble

Maryde, I hope you'll enjoy  the Autumn.  Do you have also those wondrous colors in the trees like in US and Europe?  Here we miss that unfortunately.

Kelly

Hi Mary
It is 9C and showers here.

Most of the change in our weather patterns are the result of global warming.

But the Island got plenty of rain before that!

Hi everyone.  It is a cloudy morning and we had a little rain a hour or so ago.  Yesterday we ended up with a little over 4 1/2 inches of rain in about 24 hours.  Needless to say things are a bit soggy here.  It is to get up to only 70 this afternoon and we are to see the sun.  We just stayed in all day yesterday.  Not much on the agenda for today.  I do need to make a quick trip to Walmart to replenish the breakfast drink I have each day.  I am looking forward to watching the two games of the NCAA Final Four that will be on this evening.

Kelly, we had some rain yesterday that could have been shared as that was really too much for one day.  However, our soil here soaks it right in.  I haven't had raspberry swirl ice cream in a very long time and don't see it in our stores but may be there from time to time.

Nita, glad to see you posting and hope you can let us hear from you often.

I know we are missing Molly's postings.  I just sent her an email with the links to the two discussions that I know she posts on often and telling her she would have to re-register.

MaryPage, interesting is how when there are a few extra dollars something always seems to come along and claim them.  I have worn support hose up to my knees for sometime now and ordered them at around $17 per pair.  Of course they are not prescription grade but firm and have sure kept my ankles from swelling during the day from the heart failure.  I would scream at $78/pair also.

Bubble, I have never seen those flavors of ice cream in the stores here.  However, some of the old favorites are rather hard to find anymore.

Mary Ann

Good morning from Grand Rapids.  My thermometer reads 35 degrees right now and from the Weather Channel, we are to have snow today.  If that is true, it would be this evening as things will warm up a bit during the day.  Actually, the sun is shining and it looks like the start of a nice day.

I finally finished my income taxes and I've had word that both were accepted.  Now I can get on to other things, but I don't know what those will be.  I have showered and washed my hair and now I am waiting for my body and hair to dry.  I'll try to be dressed by 10 am.

Mary Ann

MaryPage

I do my taxes myself, send them in by snail mail, and have the refunds deposited directly into my checking account.  I used to manage my government pension by telephone, but now I do it on line at their web site.  I prefer NOT to owe, so I have a little more in taxes deducted monthly and thus assure I will not.  That gives me peace of mind, and getting the small refund is fun.

But as you say, Larry, and apparently your life experience has been similar to my own, money has a way of spending itself before you can get to it!

Does anyone remember Tutti Frutti ice cream?  It was both a common flavor of ice cream and of chewing gum when I was a little girl.  Ordinarily, I do not like pieces of ANYthing in my ice cream, as I like to just lick and swallow (cones), but I did love, love, love Tutti Frutti!  I am also fond of Butter Brickle.

so_P_bubble

LarryHanna, lately for unknown reason I cannot find the coffee flavored ice cream.  Very annoying as it is the one I prefer.

And we do find tutti frutti from time to time.

MaryPage

Well, that's life, is it not, Bubble?

Lucky in some ways, and not so much in others.  We never have Tutti Frutti any more.  I have seen it advertised by a local frozen yogurt emporium, but I do not care for frozen yogurt.  Would love, love, love to have it one more time in a real ice cream cone!

But I feel almost in deep mourning over your not having access to coffee ice cream.  A lot of our ice cream parlours are getting too fancy for words these days, and they add everything but the kitchen sink to their coffee ice creams.  They even have expresso ice cream!  There is coffee caramel swirl, Ben & Jerry's coffee, coffee, coffee, BUZZ, BUZZ, BUZZ! and all manner of heathen concoctions.  Would like to ship you a case of Haagen Dazs just plain Coffee.  Yum, yum!  Creamy and goooood.

Andie

Coffee ice cream is also my favorite and was hard to find when I first came to Arkansas.  The closest thing I could find was Baskin-Robbins' Jamocha Almond Fudge.  I asked the manager of a local market if plain old coffee ice cream was available. The following week I found he had ordered some and that I was not the only customer looking for it.

Ben & Jerry's coffee ice cream is much too sweet here and even that is hard to find.  Yes the trend is for all kind of weird concoctions.

MaryPage

Feels strange to know that trends are the very same here as there.  Or there as here.  We sure are a global community!
