Hi Everyone. We have a cloudy morning and expected to be partly cloudy all day with a small chance for rain.  I had a better day yesterday than Saturday although, as they say, not something to write home about.  I didn't do as much coughing yesterday but experience that extreme exhaustion.  I did get a good nights sleep.  I only have two or three small things I want to accomplish this morning and then will take it easy the rest of the day.

Pat's new walker did arrive as scheduled yesterday but I didn't feel up to getting it out of the box and assembled.  Mainly it is putting on the front wheels and the back brake type feet.  I am anxious to see if it is going to work for her as it only weighs 12 pounds.  I also need to shred up another pound of cheddar cheese.

Sandy, nice to read that you are now enjoying some cool and Fall like days up your way.  The way I handle the hot and humid days is to stay inside where it is cool as much as possible and my car has a very good A/C so in a couple of minutes after getting into the hot car it has cooled down.  We keep the car in our garage so it isn't hot at the beginning of a trip away from the house.  I agree that technology is great.  The home I grew up in wasn't very big but it was heated for a number of years with a pot bellied stove that would die down at night.  Tiger was certainly on a roll and it looked for a time that he would win not only the Tour Championship but also the Fed-Ex Cup.  He has now won 80 professional golf tournaments.

Patricia, I am very thankful I live in the South and not in Alaska.  Had I not changed jobs and come back to the lower-48 after my contract was up we might well have stayed in Alaska.  While we enjoyed the tour I am glad we made the move back when we did.  It sure sound like that helicopter was a training mission for a pilot. It sounds like it must be a bit noisy where you live between the planes and trains.

Marilyne, that heat wave does sound concerning and sure hope it doesn't spawn new wild fires.  Speaking of getting medical records, when we moved from Georgia to South Carolina Kaiser would have made my records available to me but would have charged a pretty large fee.  However, there was a form that the doctor could send to them and they would furnish at least a summary free directly to them.  I watched mainly the golf yesterday other than to check in occasionally to see how the games were going.

Jean, isn't the health record online a great feature.  We have the same situation here and we can actually so back and look at all of our previous blood work results and other information.  Of course the doctors have access to a lot more detail on what has been said by other doctors or from other tests.  I think we have excellent health care facilities and doctors here.  I haven't been in the hospital since we moved here but Pat has and all went well.

Mary Ann, I think I fit into that category that prefer college football to the pros although do watch some pro games on Sunday afternoons.  The night games come on too late so usually don't watch any of them. Nice you could have some special time with Sue and Annie over a good meal.  I am not sure how much of a medical record doctors actually transfer to a new doctor.  I know my new cardiologists didn't get access to my heart caths from Kaiser.  I also remember being in many work situations where we had no A/C and how hot the offices got and then having the cigarette smoke didn't help.

deAngel, did you get some breezes from the ocean when you lived in Charleston.  A couple of years ago we talked about getting a porch swing but realized we would not get much use from it so didn't follow through.

Mary Ann

Larry, I expect we will have some days nice enough for me to sit out on my deck, using the furniture I bought this summer, but we have some covers for the furniture that require removal before we can use the furniture.  The covers are rather heavy and I think spoil the looks of the deck.  However, they do protect the furniture cushions from rain.  The cushions are covered in olefin, which is waterproof, but I wouldn't want to sit on them if the sun came out immediately after a rain!  The covers will be on all winter and if we have some heavy snows, the covers will be covered in a foot of snow!!!

The sun is shining here but at 10:45 the temperature is only 60 degrees.  I think and hope our hot, hot days are over, but I don't want cold weather yet.

Mary Ann

Good morning from the Interior where conditions sadly remain the same.

Larry, I guess we all have our proclivities due to what we are used to. While I enjoyed my time in Tennessee, Georgia, Kentucky, and Texas, I prefer Alaska for the same reason you enjoy the south. My time in 43 of the lower forty-eight states was memorable, but it wasn't home. If I were to choose to move south, it would probably be to one of the northern tier states.

We never had A/C when I was growing up, and we had a coal furnace during my early childhood before converted to oil. When you go into shops and malls in the summer, these days you freeze or at least I do, they have the A/C set so low!

About the medical records, not online but written, all you need is to request them in person, sign a form and pay between $2.50 and $5.00. When I asked for my hospital records in 2000 after my cancer, I paid $5.00 for 49 years of records. It's Alaskan law per method, price, and availability.

Joy

Just getting here for today.  Had a busy day with a nurse and PT.  THe PT walked with me down to our library, which is a good long walk. She said I did very well.  I only had to stop one time.  Took some books back and picked up a few more.  Then the nurse was here and everything was good that she checked out.

Mary Ann, I was thinking of you yesterday. I did watch the end of the golf and I guess everyone was happy that Tiger won.  He seems to have settled down from rsome of his earlier behaviors.  I heard one announcer mention something about how he used to get angry and throw the golf clubs around. And, I do remember he wasn't   very responsive to the crowds. He did seem a lot more sociable and smiled a lot.

Larry, I sure wish I could send you some of my energy.  I can hardly believe that I have so much more energy and feel like doing things.  Hope it lasts.

Hope Pat will like her new rollator.  My DIL did bring the walker she bought, but it wasn't what I wanted. She  was able to take it back.  On Sat. my son is taking me to the store where she had gone to, as she said they had about 20 on display. That way, I can pick out one that I am comfortable with.

Getting on to dinnertime, so just wanted to say "Hello" for today.

Have a nice evening.

Joy

BIG BOX

Mary Ann

Joy, I have read that Tiger has mellowed in the years of his not playing golf and that he is more receptive to the fans.  I am happy that he won and things may settle down now, but he is not nor ever will be a favorite of mine.  For golfers, he is getting on in years.  A few more years and he can join the Senior players!

I'm glad your therapy went so well today.  I walked to the mailbox today with no trouble.  I guess that is my therapy, however, my aches and pains are in my shoulder for the most part.

Tom is fixing supper and it smells good.  I think he has not ordered my Instant Pot so I can't see how that works.  I'm looking forward to using it for my lunch, especially, since Tom is here more for suppers.  With few exceptions I might be able to discontinue frozen dinners.

Good afternoon, feels like Fall, which of course it is.

Mary Ann, I also have covers for the out door furniture, but I agree things look neater with them off.

Larry, please just put your feet up and take the day off,  I will not say watch TV, as the news is like watching one big soap opera

While I don't watch the news on TV, I do read it on the computers.  I am surprised at what constitutes "news" these days - movie and TV stars pregnancies, movie and TV stars murders and/or suicides, Melania Trump's shoes and clothes.  There is some real news (not fake?) lots of Opinion and Politics, Sports, even some Good News.  I skip over a lot of what is there to read.

Mary Ann

Hi Everyone.  We are to have another partly cloudy day getting up to around 90 degrees again this afternoon with very little chance of rain.  We didn't get a drop yesterday.  Our main activity for today is for Pat to see the GP for a regularly scheduled appointment around 10:30 this morning and then we will go from there out to have our main meal of the day.  We haven't been out to eat since the last Wednesday night dinner at the Church if I remember correctly.  Nothing else is on tap for the day.  I did feel a lot better yesterday afternoon and did not have a recurrence of the wheezing and coughing and I am hoping today will be even better.

Mary Ann, I think it has been two years since I took the covers off of the metal table and chairs we have on our back patio.  I do have two chairs that match the others and a table on the front porch but very seldom sit out on the porch.  I know I should replace the covers as they are getting pretty old but still seem to be doing the job.  It sounds like you have a very inviting and pleasant place to set out on your patio.

Patricia, I don't think we ever had A/C while I was growing up either nor did Pat and I have it in our home or car when we lived in Oklahoma early in our married lives.  However, once we had it I sure didn't want to give it up.  You certainly have reasonable charges to get copies of your medical records.  I know I had three very full medical folders of records at Kaiser before they started using computer records systems.

Joy, it sounds like you are doing great and got good reports from the nurse and the PT person.  Last week when I took my friend home from coffee I was surprised to see a bookmobile parked at the facility where he lives.  I had no idea that our library system here had such a service but glad they do.  He lives in an assisted living home that has around 50 residents and I don't think they have a library for the residents so this service I sure is much appreciated. It appears that Tiger enjoying playing golf now as I am sure there was a time when he thought his career was over.  He certainly has the fans.  Nice to see your energy level has been restored as know you were not feeling at all well for awhile.  I did assemble the rollator yesterday with the exception of putting the locks on the handle bars as will wait for our son to do that for us tomorrow evening.  I didn't think Pat would like it but she was able to sit on it and said she thought she could use it.  I haven't tried to get it in the car but think it is light enough and folds up enough to go behind the driver's seat of the car.  We will keep it as I realize I may need to use it from time to time when I am out and there is no place to sit down.  Pat is going to give it a try and I hope it serves the purpose for her for at least awhile. Sorry that the one your DIL got for you wasn't what you wanted and certainly would be better to go and actually see what you are getting before buying.

deAngel, I did just what you advised yesterday of laying down with my feet up and did very little besides what was required.  I do watch the news and read online but recognize the bias in the coverage and usually just look at the headlines.  I don't watch soap operas.  :)

angelface555

I have to look a bit askance at the term fake news as everything you hear is put out under the slant of the owners and managers of the news sites. A good example is Fox news that had been charged as recently as 2016 by the government for obvious news slants. Fox paid the fines each time and reiterated that "their staff was not reporters but commentators."

We see and hear everything through our own biases and often agree with what resonates with our biases and disagree or dismiss what goes against our biases. And publications know and use this.

I know that the newspaper here since it was purchased by an outside group, is oriented to that same junk that you mentioned with very little actual local content. In Anchorage, one of their newspapers has real news and often has articles about Fairbanks that aren't printed here. So much so that the Anchorage paper is a bigger seller here than the local paper. Their other newspaper is pretty much the same scandal sheet as our local paper. You know that the kids are growing up with this type of filter, slanted news will not expect anything different.

MaryAnn, in a country where the National Enquirer and People Magazine are the largest selling magazines, you know they are going to publish what sells and unfortunately that doesn't seem to be any real content other than gossip. What filters down to us as news is what is bought and sold and filtered through politics and publicists. I have daily news briefs from CBS, NBC, Asian News, and Euronews and CNN, as well as the BBC. The same slant exists there, but it is impressive to me to see stories about the US seen through a more objective, less right or left wing lens.

FlaJean

DeAngel and Mary Ann, you both amaze me.  If I attain your age, I sure hope I can be as cheerful and optimistic about life.

Joy, I’m glad you are feeling so much better.

Larry, I always look forward to your posts.

It is rainy and a little dreary today in our area, but much better than a drought.  Marilyne, I wish we could send your area some of our rain.

Jean, I make, but  make myself go some times, but after I arrive I have a nice time :)
My DIL in Niceville has ask me to come down there. It is just so far from LOng Island. We did look at a few assistance living place down there was one I really like. I think it was in a town just west of Niceville it even had and inside putting green that sold me. It was reasonable, we then were looking for a place for my MIL, She didn't want to leave Charleston,  We did find a nice place in down town Charleston, thought she liked it. So we put a deposit down till and opening came. We came back to NY, she got a call there was a place for her and she ask for our deposit back I guess that is more then you wanted to know, sorry

Jean - As long as we're experiencing climate change, I wish it would change in California to less sun and more rain.  Instead we're getting fewer rain storms every year, with very little measurable rain. Old Mister Sun, seems to always be out, with temperatures continuing upward every season!  Expecting 100 degrees tomorrow.

Joy - Good to see you looking in every day and saying hello!  I'm glad that your energy has returned, and hope it stays with you.  I have those days when I'm not feeling well at all, and find it hard to make it through the day.  Then seems like I will bounce back, and feel wonderful and full of energy for a few days.  I've learned that I'd better take advantage of those good times, and get as much done as possible, because I never know what tomorrow will be like.

Larry- I'm glad you're feeling better.  Like Jean, I always read your long newsy messages, and I miss them on the rare occasion that you don't post.  I don't always comment, but I look forward to reading them every day.

Mary Ann - I've been neglecting the webcams this past week, and don't think I've taken a look at any of them?  I usually follow "Paul", on his route through the Soo, and back again to Duluth, but I've lost track of him.  I'll have to look at the schedule, and start in all over again.

Gloria
I missed all the excitement of Tiger winning the tournament last weekend, however, I did see it on the news Sunday night.  I was never one of his big fans, but I do believe that he is one of the greatest golfers of all time.  Starting as a child, like he did, his whole life has been about golf.  As someone said, he will probably be joining the Senior's before long.  I have no idea how old he is now?

Two Polyps were found.  Since she had two cameras doing their job I do not have details as yet.  The second camera was down her throat since she has had a terrible cough for 8 years and previous visits to doctors have not diagnosed it nor treated.  One doctor told her not to drink water after 5 p.m.  Not sure but since that did not work she ignored it.  LOL  More when I talk to Candy.  She is in bed sleeping right now.  Dan took her and brought her back.

Patricia, I've gotten to the point I read news articles and accept them as written but I'm still not sure if they're true or not.  Nothing I can do about it anyway.

Joan, maybe some of Candy's pain will be gone with the removal of two polyps.  Anyway, it does seem that someone is acting instead if ignoring.

Marilyn, we just had a little shower, not much, but every bit helps.  The Soo cam has been out of order recently and it has kind of been repaired, except it is a good view of the sky.  I have looked at the Duluth cams and seen a couple of ships come in or go out.  It gets discouraging when I look and find everything is going to happen "tomorrow" or beyond.  I was happy for Tiger that he won after so many years, but I would not want him to dominate the tours again.  I believe he is 42 years old.

Jean, actually I lead a very quiet life and do very little.  Tom does the cooking and I do some of the cleanup but not much.  When I go out for lunch, he is the driver and accompanies me.  We take Dot out occasionally.  I don't walk like June D does nor do I do crafts like Gloria de.  I am at the computer more than I should be.  One of these days we're going to do some sorting in this computer room.  Tom has the idea that I will need a Rollator some day and we want to have space for it to be placed.  My walking consists of going to the mailbox, although Tom got the mail today.  The walk is probably the equivalent of three garage lengths each way.  My mind is still quite good for which Tom is very thankful!  Norm's short-term memory was not good at the last, but his long-term memory was fine.  I will say he and I seldom had the same memories of the same thing but we didn't argue about it.

I really feel quite good except for the distance I can or cannot walk.  I have A-Fib and I wish I didn't but I make do.  Jean, thanks for thinking Gloria and I are doing so well - so well for 94 anyway!  I know we both cope - so does June D - and Junee in Australia (I marvel at Junee).

I didn't mean to get so carried away - sorry.

Mary Ann

Between the polyps and the cysts no wonder she is in pain.

wjoan

UPDATE:  Polyps, were removed according to email just received from Candy.  :)

Mary Ann

Joan, that's good to hear.  I hope things are on the up and up from here on.

Marilyn, I just saw the Duluth schedule and Paul is scheduled to depart Thursday.  I just saw a ship arrive at Two Harbors and another one (Presque Isle) leave Duluth.  I can't see there is much activity at the Soo, however, the camera is in position again - at the original site.  Better than nothing.  Kind of boring.

Joy

I am just getting around to saying "Hello",   I had a PT visit at 8:30 this morning,  I had gotten up, had breakfast and dressed.  After she left,  I had a nap and read for a while.  While she was here, she had said she had wanted me to make a meal the next time she came.  She reminded me of that.  Since I had already had breakfast, she said I could just make a cup of tea.   Well, that went quick.  Made it in my Keurig coffee maker andi it took about 5 min.  She said I did very good. LOL   She did tell me that I can put the walker in front of the fridge when I am trying to put something in or out of it.  That was a good suggestion, as I had just been sitting the walker just in front of the stove, which is next to the fridge.  So, that was a good idea.   Prevents me from just leaning over to try to reach something.

Then, I found out the hairdresser was here today, and I was able to get my hair done this afternoon.  She usually comes on Mondays and I hadn't been able to go yesterday. So, that worked out good.  She had had something to do yesterday and had left a note that she would be here today, but I didn't get to see the note.  So, that was a nice surprise.

My dinner is about ready, so I will go eat.

Have a nice evening.

Hi Everyone.  It looks like it will be another hot day here in South Carolina.  At least we have a 50% opportunity for rain this afternoon.  Pat plans to attend her Gifts group this morning so I will take her and go on down to coffee with the guys.  Yesterday I found that our downtown drug store had medical equipment on display so we stopped there after Pat's doctor visit as the doctor told her she definitely needed the Rollator and gave her the prescription for it.  She found just what she wanted and I am going to be able to get it into the back seat by placing it on the seat rather than between the seats.  I don't know why I hadn't thought of that before.  I can slide it in and out and not have to lift very much.  So that is a problem solved.  We will be going to dinner at the Church this evening with Scott and then look forward to our weekly visit with him.

Patricia, you are right about seeing things through our own biases.  Unfortunately it seems there isn't any room anymore for letting other people have their own opinions and if we don't agree then we are bad people.  I am appalled that some of our public officials are hounded and forced to leave places to eat with their families by people shouting at them.  It appears our civility as a society is breaking down.  Perhaps it has always been like this but now everything to reported.  We have three different newspapers but I don't subscribe to any of them.  I do visit their websites to obtain some local news and do watch the local newscast each evening.

Jean, thanks for the nice comment about my postings.  I know I often just chatter on too long.  I hope we will be getting some of that rain you are experiencing.  We do have a good chance this week for more rain.

deAngel, sometimes I have to push myself to get out and go but then find I put my focus on something besides how I am feeling and am glad I did go.  As our population ages and people live longer there is certainly going to be a demand for assisted and independent living facilities.  It was nice of your DIL to make the suggestion.  At least that gives you an option to consider.  I can just visualize you on that putting green.

Marilyne, I have always thought of California as a sunny place and I guess it is living up to that reputation.  Stay cool today as 100 degrees is hot where ever one is. I can certainly relate to what you said about having good days and bad days. I sort of bet that the golfers on the Senior Tour are shuddering at the thought of Tiger becoming old enough to play in those tournaments. Sunday I did look up how old Tiger is and found he is 42, if I remember correctly. I see that Mary Ann has confirmed that I remember correctly.

Mary Ann, it is interesting how two people experiencing the same things recall them with differences.

Joan, so glad that Candy is beginning to get some answers.

Joy, making a cup of tea in a Keurig coffee maker would hardly seem equivalent to preparing a meal but glad you passed the test.  That is a good idea to use the walker in front of your refrigerator since that requires a lot of bending on occasion and you will have something to steady yourself.  I had a similar experience yesterday when the lady in the drug store came out as I was trying to put the new Rollator between the seats and she suggested putting it up on the seats, which worked great and solved a problem.  I thought to myself, why didn't I think of that.

Sandy

Good Morning Everyone,
from the much cooler and overcast,
rocky coast of Maine.

I  got some good news yesterday.
My Drive Rollator which got lost somehow
in the mail,   (delivered all the way to California,
in stead of to me here in Maine)!

We it is now officially on the road home to
me,  and should be delivered next Monday.
Coming from California,  all across the USA to
Portland, Maine.

What a relief to find that it is now
on its way.   Fingers crossed that this time
it makes it to me, before the first snow
fall...    :knuppel2:

All is well here.

Have a good day,  Everyone!

Sandy, I wonder if your Rollator being sent to California meant they were going to send it to Portland Oregon although it seems they would have been able to ship it direct.  Someone didn't mind their Ps and/or Qs.

It's only 59 degrees here, but the sun is shining, so it will be a nice day.  Radar does not show any rain in our area for days to come, however, I know Mother Nature can surprise us at the drop of a hat.

I'm very glad your Rollator is headed your way and I hope it travels the straight and narrow to Portland Maine!!!

I just looked at Grand Haven and there are big white caps and people are flying kites.  Good weather for that because it is windy.

SCFSue

Sandy, we lived in the Brunswick, Maine, area twice as my late hubby was a U.S. Navy pilot and assigned to VP squadrons there.  The first time we had to buy a small house in Brunswick as there were no rentals available except a one room apartment over a butcher shop in downtown Brunswick.  We had a toddler and I was pregnant again and realized I couldn't live there so we borrowed enough money from his parents to make a down payment on the house.  My father-in-law didn't want to lend the $1,000 down payment, but finally did and I went without a heavy coat and had really cheap boots from a convenience store in Brunswick.  I worked like a trouper to pay that $1,000 payment off.  We were there 4 years the first time.

The second time Bob was stationed in Brunswick we rented a house out on Orr's Island as all the places at the Naval Station were occupied.  We had 3 sons at that time and our youngest was in Kindergarten.  He had a hard time zipping his jacket and his cranky and ill-mannered never married teacher wouldn't start the zipper  for him--and every kid at that school had to go outside and play in the snow after lunch.  She also wrote in the report that followed him to every school he attended in the U. S. that I was an over-protective mother who babied him.  Needless to say, I resented that a lot!

Now on a happier note, I'm glad your Rollater is on the way and I know it will be a blessing for you!

Sue

Sandy

With any kind of luck,
the rollator will be here Monday.
I will let you know!!

Sue...  That sounds like you had quite
a time of it....   I hope that did not color your
years spent here in Maine.

Maine does take some getting used to,
because of the four distinct seasons,
and being situated near the North Atlantic.

We never know here what the different
seasons will bring us....  we can just hope
and prepare for the worst,  and embellish the
best.

For the most part,  I stay inside when the
weather is inclement...  and usually that only
lasts for a few days at a time..

When I lived in Port Townsend,  Washington
(45 miles North West of Seattle),  I found the
Summers lovely... but the rest of the year there
extremely boring ... temps in the forties, cloudy,
and pretty much the same,  day after day..

I really learned to appreciate New England and
its changing seasons,  in spite of sometime it being
too hot or too cold.

I believe it is all in what I got used to growing
up and that will stay with me forever.

Sandy, I agree with you in that it is what you get used to.  I was born in West Virginia and I think they have similar weather to Michigan's, although probably a bit warmer, but I have lived in Michigan since I was 16 months old.  We have the four seasons and beautiful fall leaves, many lakes, hills, trees of several kinds.  I visited Norm and Dot several times in February and/or March in Florida and while I enjoyed the pleasant weather, I did not like Florida because so much of the scenery was man-made, not much natural.  I am a Michigander (Michigoose?) and proud of it.

I would have gotten used to West Virginia if my folks had stayed there but I have always been convinced that they picked Michigan because family was in Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

I also would have loved to live in any of the New England states.

Good afternoon started out with rain, last night was heavy rain and a lot of flooding. In Port Jefferson a town a few miles  from us on the Sound flooded and people had to be rescued down town from 2 restaurants and a playhouse.  even the firestation was under water and they  had to call for help from a couple other fire departments

Joan, so happy to see something has been done for Candy, Perhaps she is on the right road now.

Joy, yes Tiger is in his 40's and with the PGA, that getting old. He is ageing well, not so one focus and I think he has come down to earth. he is also now keeping his children out of the spot light

Mary Ann, I must say I enjoy my computer it keep me entertained. I talk with all my friend, look up information, play games at night also enjoy the web cams

Larry, I think Pat will enjoy her pushmobile (that's what I call It) more and more, it is so nice to just set down when you get tired

A quick good afternoon.  Been a busy morning and early afternoon.  But, I do not have any more visits for today, so I am planning on going out and sitting in the near perfect "summer day" sunshine. Not too many days like this are left.

Sandy, what a shame about the delay in getting your rollator, but glad to know it is, at least, heading in your direction.  I know it will be a big help for to get around better.

Larry, glad that you didn't have any problem getting the rollator into the car.  Sometimes you just have to try a couple different ways to see what works best for you.  I hope Pat will be happy with it.

We do have the book mobile come to our facility about every 3 weeks.  It used to be a truck-like vehicle, but that broke down and now they just come in a SUV.  They have the books in plastic crates and just sit them out on the sidewalk.  Not sure how that will work in the cold weather.  You can also call the library and order any books and they will bring them to you on the day they come.   I haven't gotten any books from them for a long time. When they had the truck, it was just a little difficult to get in and out of it, although they did have a small ramp.  But, then trying to maneuver around with the walker was a little tight.  We have a nice library here at my place and I do have my Kindle.  So, I make out pretty well.

Joan, A an so happy that your daughter is finally getting some of her problems looked into and sure hope she will start feeling better soon. I know it has been a good while when she hasn't been feeling very well.

Wishing everyone a pleasant afternoon and evening.

In each of the five common rooms in this building, there is a single computer on a timer and waitlist as well as a coin-operated printer, cards, jigsaw puzzles, magazines and a variety of donated soft and hardcover books. The local library arrives on the third Wednesday of each month to the third-floor common room. They bring book requests, a selection of books, audio tapes, and videos for a 30 day checkout period. I haven't seen the vehicle they arrive in, but I know they go all over town where needed.

You can order a book online as well as by phone or when they are here. There are several local libraries that consolidate for these trips.

My issue is that the cookbooks I tend to check out spur me to order my own copies from Hearst or Amazon.

Joy, I wish I could join you on your almost summer-like day, but here it is 55 degrees, a little cool to sit outside.  Maybe if I put on a sweater, it would be a bit more comfortable.  Inside I do not need a sweater.

Kendrick and I took a nap about an hour ago and he is still sleeping on my bed.  The phone rang and I thought the voice said it was Tom, but it was a toll free call when I saw what was on my phone.  I get very few phone calls and most of those are from "unavailable".  Of course, I don't answer those calls.

Tom ordered the Instant Pot today and I am anxious to try it out.  There is a recipe book that comes with it and I'll have to read that to see what foods I should order.  I want to use it for my lunches and I hope Tom will use it too.  People here on the computer have been very enthusiastic about it.

I switched couple of drawers in the kitchen last night.  Tom has a hard time getting the paper products from the bottom drawer so I put them in the former junk drawer.  The trouble is the former paper drawer is deeper than the former junk drawer, which is wider and things don't fit the same way.  The junk drawer contents are still on the kitchen counter and i'd like to get them put away before the day is over.

Mary Ann, where did you live in West Virginia?  I was born in Nitro in 1937--my Dad was employed by Monsanto and I am the oldest of 3 sisters.  My parents split up when I was 6 and my youngest sister was only 1.  My middle sister is 20 months younger than I am.  We lived with my Dad's mother from the time my mother left us until I went away to college.  Then my other 2 sisters eventually moved away from Grandma's house.  She lived in St. Albans which is on the confluence of the Kanwha and Coal Rivers.
