Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Kelly, I've known about the license fee for TVs for a long, long time. Just now, I am wondering if that is a yearly license or a once and done fee?

MaryPage

Kelly referred to it several posts back as a yearly thing.

MarsGal

Ah, thank you MaryPage, I skim back over the older posts, but must have missed it.

Kelly

Hi MarsGal
But then to have digital channels we use in the UK mainly a company called Sky.

I pay for that about £83 or $117 a month

Kelly

Really? Ewww. Did you know Rupert Murdoch owns 39% of Sky?

So there isn't any Verizon in Europe? I'm surprised. I'd have thought those crooks would have branched out globally.

Yes, MaryPage, it's a yearly fee. They had until now allowed those over the age of 75 to cease paying, but according to Wikipedia, they're re-evaluating that. People living too long, I guess, and Auntie Beeb IS greedy.

Kelly

Hi deedee
Yes not a fan of Rupert Murdoch at all, but if we in the UK and Isle of Man want the best choice of programmes we have to pay for it.

There is Freeview, but nowhere near the choice Sky has.

No Verizon

Idem here.  You have to pay to see anything.  We can connect to Sky - for an extra fee of course.

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE, Well its 6.30am here as I type.  Just passing through today, its been an unusually busy week, nothing exciting but since the weather was mostly fine it was nice to get out a bit.  I was cheered to get your messages and wish I had been sensible enough to make notes.    Think the days when I just remembered each of them are mostly over although I do remember some but that's not good enough because I don't want to offend anyone.   I promise to do better next time!
Mary
NB  We used to have TV and Radio licences for new appliances ages ago, lots of people circumvented paying by buying secondhand sets...and the powers-that-be gave in.    Love your flag Kelly, different.

Kelly

Hi maryde
We like our flag also!

KELLY    from a newbie to a hero, how did you manage that?

so_P_bubble

maryde, by being prolific ha ha ha

maryde

BUBBLE   Doesn't 'prolific' mean something like producing freely, in abundance?  Now I remember, didn't  I read that he is a gardener, obviously he has fertile fingers on his keyboard too.

so_P_bubble

ha ha ha good one, maryde!

Kelly

Hi maryde
All done by voice recognition as fingers not able to type.

I think not fertile fingers, but I can talk and talk and talk!

Oh have I sent everyone to sleep!

Hi everyone.  While the household is arising this morning I have a couple of minutes to stop by and say good morning, or good afternoon, whichever is appropriate.  My sister and brother-in-law arrived before we were expecting them.  We had gone out to a late lunch after 2 pm as my sister had indicated they would not be here for the evening meal.  They called just as we were leaving the restaurant and still had to make a trip to the supermarket saying they were near our house but their GPS had quit working and needed a few instructions.  I told them how to find the house and that we would be awhile before we got home.  I called Scott and he went on out to the house so they could get in but in the meantime I had told them of the Greenway walking trail that has access from our cul-de-sac and they are both walker so took advantage of the time to have a nice walk and by the time they got back Scott was here.  They didn´t want dinner as had eaten a very late mid-afternoon lunch so we all ended up having some homemade pound cake with fresh strawberries and a scoop of ice cream.  We had a nice evening of visiting.  We have no fixed schedule for the next two days other than staying away from Augusta due to the MasterÅ› traffic.  We will likely go to Ruby TuesdayÅ› for a late lunch today and then have a light supper.  They will be with us until Saturday morning.

I was able to read all of the postings from my phone this morning before arising.  Just glad to see all of the postings and hope all have a good day.  We had some heavy rain during the night but it is bright and sunny this morning and will get into the mid-70Å› this afternoon so should be a very nice day.

Kelly

Hi Larry
Have a lovely time with your family today.

Kelly.  I notice that you have over 780 posting since we started only a little over a week.

Have you been to bed yet?  That is a Record....

Kelly does a new post for each person he writes to. We use one post, but post the names of each person we speak to. Kelly says "Hello" or Hi or How are you. and that is posted. He has done that ever since he joined us. Clever, correct Kelly ?????
As long as we are here, let's dance.

 :) Good Morning everyone!

I noticed yesterday that the light had changed from Spring to Summer with that haze in the sky and the budding on our trees. We are told it will continue to be warmer throughout the next couple of weeks and folks are back out walking and playing and working, all enjoying the sunshine and warmer temperatures.

Enjoy your day!

so_P_bubble

I hope you too can enjoy the caress of the sun and breathe the clean air of summer.

Kelly

Hi June
I prefer a post to everyone and not on a list of names.

With someone taking the time to post to me, the least i can do is reply to them on a one to one message.

Regarding Hi or Hello it is the greeting I prefer as it is the way I post, been doing that since I started email many years ago.

We are supposed to get up to 81 degrees today, somehow I doubt that.  Tisafter 1 now and only 67 degrees.

Hope you all have a good day.  Hugs all around,

Kelly

Hi WesternJoan
Much hotter where you live than here!

Kelly

wjoan

Hi Kelly, we have hot Summers and cold Winters.  A bit different from where I grew up.  <San Francisco, CA>

Kelly

Hi WesternJoan
Thanks for the information.

Kelly

wjoan

Well, surprised me.... We got up to 83 at 5 p.m.

Kelly

We got up to 48F or 9C at 3.0pm!

Beverly

Just a quick "hello" since I haven't posted for awhile.

I had one of my front teeth extracted Monday (the one that broke off at the gum line) and the implant inserted. It went well for the most part but still have a lot of soreness and some aching today. I could probably remedy that but I don't like taking a lot of pills.

June - Hope your stomach doesn't give you any problems tonight.

Larry - Enjoy your visit with your sister.  Your son must enjoy having you live nearby, especially since he's alone now.

Mary de - How nice to see you posting! One of my favorite memories of SeniorNet is getting to meet you and John in person after all our IM chats. Would never have thought at that time that we'd actually meet when we lived a world apart!

Kelly - I was also wondering about the TV license and see that you've answered that.

We will be changing to another TV, computer and phone service. I can't remember the name of the one my husband chose. It's less money than we pay for Comcast and Comcast just had another price hike!  :o

We're having beautiful weather here in Florida. My son called the other night (from Vermont) and they woke up to 5º in the morning. Another good reason to stay where we are!

Good night everyone!

I hope no one here is planning a cruise to the Caribbean Islands:

There is still so much unknown about that virus. I can't believe the danger is only for pregnant women.

Kelly

Hi Beverly
Sorry to hear about you needing an extraction.
