Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

Me, too, Bubble.  I wish you were here next Tuesday evening when all the little goblins, hobos, princesses, etc. come trick or treating at my house.  However, now that the merchants uptown give out candy, I don't get many T or Treaters--except for kids who are driven in from outside the city limits.  I'm ready with small individual candy bars--the kind I like in case not many show up!

Jack, whether it be the program or you, the pictures are outstanding.  If you finished them off with the oil painting finish they would look like high grade art paintings.  They would be great to display in a home.

Shirley

Don't know why I can't find time to get in here & post... every time I come & check Photos the phone rings or doorbell & I don't have time to post.  By the time each of my kids call in the evening ... daughter usually calls before dark & the boys call from 9:00-10:00 pm and then I'm sleepy.  Tonight I fed the cats their "midnight snack" early but Tom disappeared while I was talking to the kid that just got back from Singapore.... no idea what room of the house or basement he's sleeping in, but I did check the living room.  They all know it is off limits with a white couch & chair!

Jack, you amaze me with all the tricks you've learned about the computer & photos.  Both the colorful fall & now the snow collages are beautiful.  How about putting all of your "Golden Girls" in one?  Does it just arrange or do you have any control over what part of the collage each photo places in?  Interesting.

Bubble, love the photos of your kid.... & need to get some of my gr-grandson to share with you, the boys are about the same age & so alike.  Jace now has the 2 little sisters that do take the spotlight from him.  The youngest is walking & talking now & the older girl is exactly like her gr-mother was at that age.  My daughter never talked "baby" talk.... & Amelia talks & thinks "attitude" the same.  Jace is very good with them, doesn't seem to show any sign of resentment, I expected it since my daughter packed up her Barbie doll case & was going to move a few days after we brought her first brother home from the hospital.  She had enough of "that baby crying all the time".  They are fun to watch grow up, aren't they?

Marilyn, I giggle every time I scroll past Freckles photo.... I'll bet the patients & staff at the re-hab thoroughly enjoy & appreciate that costume.  Such a good thing you do to bring happiness, even if a short time, the memories last.

Jack, yesterday when I went to Sam's Club the entry part had a group of people & quite a few dogs & pups doing a fund raiser for "service dogs".... & I stopped to ask if the Golden was on duty or could I pet it.... the man holding it's leash was pleased that I knew about Goldens & I explained about your girls.  He said after having this one, his first guide dog, he will always want Goldens.  My neighbors had raised a couple pups (at different times), Goldens, their first year before the serious training starts.  I guess the theory is they want to be separated from the first family so they will bond with the person they are assigned to.  I couldn't do that, part with one I raised & loved for a year.... but certainly a good thing for the people that need them.

I was up early & better get myself to bed before I fall asleep in this chair.

I think I have a collage app on my computer. I will look and check to see what it will do.  Yours are so neat, Jack.

jackwv

Hal thanks, I might give the art bit a try.  I also did a spring collage and will post.

Nita if you have windows 10 and go to the Windows Store they have a number of them but type in COOLLAGE APP.   it shows a photo of a camera.   It is free.

Shirley the app lets you control the positions and number of photos. I may revisit the photos of my Golden Family, still hard looking at their photos.

Bubble Love your group of Ghosts, but as I mentioned they do not scare, they all look like Casper the friendly ghost.

so_P_bubble

Jack, I hope we are all friendly here?   ::)

Here is the collage I did of Spring.  Not planning on a summer one.  This again was just a matter of picking 5 photos, putting them into the app and letting it do the work, with a few adjustments.   I did remove the app  name on the bottom right and inserted the title of Oglebay Spring.

Jack, your collage is so pretty - just what we need this time of year when everything looks and is so cold.

Take a look at the Grand Haven site (from below) and  you'll see what I mean.

Mary Ann I took a look at Grand Haven and agree with Bubble.   Have told you that the water even in the summer is not warm enough.

Some sunshine today, still in low 40's but took a short walk.   The flowers are all gone, the beds turned over and tulips planted.   Rather drab for the present, but soon there will be flower lights around the park for the light show.   Here are some today waiting to be placed.

They look like soldiers in formation!

Jack wv...
...that middle row, have to admit, they look like they are marching...while wearing a pair of heavy boots... :)

jackwv

Bubble, and Jackie, I am surprised I do not have a photo with the flowers lit, will keep it in mind.   Like going up after a snow and this is a photo from prev. winter showing the "marching" flowers standing at attention along the path.   You will also note they have lit hanging baskets.

Jack, regarding Lake Michigan temperature in the summer, you're talking like an 80-year-old.  When you're a kid, it is not too cold and when you've gone in the water for years, it is the right temp for playing.  There is a limit as to how far out your can go (those white posts you see) and no one really swims anyway - they just splash around and that keeps you warm.  The last warm temp I saw was 73 degrees and I'd go out in that.  I'm a Michigander and I don't mind the snow - as long as I'm inside.  I did drive to work in snow and ice for many years.

Love the collages, Jack.  The autumn and spring colors are so pretty, but I do love snow scenes.

jackwv

Mary Ann  my 87 year old brain still remembers cold bath water after my 6 sisters used the warm.   I will pass on Michigan lakes.

Was looking for an app to apply a painting effect to a photo.  Came across a free one for windows 10   Matissa.  It has a number of effects and will play with it a bit but here is one applied to a photo of Mimi.

How clever, how beautiful, Jack!  You really do not need to be a painter these days!

Vanilla-Jackie

Clever, it gives an oil paining affect...

jackwv

Jackie and Bubble  I like the apps.  I gave up on Photoshop, too involved for me and never had the memory for PSP.  My problem now is forgetting to tag the photos to know what app I used.

so_P_bubble

This "Phototastic Collage" free from Microsoft gave me this arrangement:

[attachimg=1]

Now I'll try Jack's collage

I used only 3 photos but they did not blend like yours Jack.  How did you do it? There is not many explanations on the site .

jackwv

Bubble one of him is not enough :)   I played with 5 photos and pushed the automatic button under the photos.  It did the blending but you can change the arrangement and even tinker a bit with size.

Leaving in a few minutes, but tried and was happier with 5 photos, give it a try.

This is with 5 flowers.  It works better with flowers than with people but it loses the sharpness. lol

this is the original and the next with some effects

more effects, like watercolors

jackwv

Bubble, you can use paint to remove the Coolage and Matissa names and put in your own title.   The blending on the coolage does cause a loss of sharpness, but you might put the photo into Windows 10 photo app and try to sharpen, lighten etc.     Have fun, on my way to 3 or 4 gin and tonic and hope it does not blur my vision. ;)

so_P_bubble

I don't know how to stop it from resizing by cutting part of the original (in Matissa). It is annoying!

Enjoy your gin tonic - and sing after that lol

jackwv

Bubble I just keep playing, did my new avatar.
