Joy I do it all the time.  Use my age as the excuse but have done it for years.

Mary Ann I put a slide show of photos in the slide show discussion, it has a number of photos.

Mary Ann

Jack, I'll look for it.

More beautiful pictures,  Bubble.   I still am so fascinated by that intricate way of making lace !!!  Thanks for sharing that.

Wonderful photos of Belgium.   Had to laugh when I spotted the lace making.  It took me half an hour to sew on  a button yesterday.  I even had to go out to buy needles with a larger eye, was unable to get the threader into the few needles I had.  Usually put aside a job like that for my daughter.

Mary Ann

Bubble, at one time I thought I'd like to try making bobbin lace and bought a kit complete with the spindles and a collar-shaped thing to work on.  I failed bobbin 101 so my dad tried it.  I think he did better than I did, but it wasn't his "thing".  I don't know what happened to the kit but I have no parts of it any more.

Interesting pictures of Belgium.  Is the one city a canal city?

Bubble, I've been to Brugges about 3 times--mostly at the beginning or end of tours of Belgium and France.  It's one of the most charming European cities IMHO.  Very tourist friendly with reasonable B&B's, and yummy restaurants.  Thanks for the pictures and tell me, how much chocolate did you buy and eat while there?  That is one of my favorite things about Brugges.

A short trip.   Just kidding, this is from another app on windows 10, and yes it is Mimi, the paper and article are inserted.

Jack, Mimi sure gets around, doesn't she?  It isn't every dog that makes the front page of a newspaper!

I have not visited Brussels so really enjoyed that trip.  Interesting lace making.

Jackwv. Beautiful pictures  of Phipps Conservatory.  Would love a walk through there.

so_P_bubble

Sue, in Brugges I gorged myself with mussels and chips. Yummy!  The chocolates I reserves for Brussels where I had two different well stocked shops on each side of my hotel :D

Jack, you are a wizard with those Windows apps. Mimi sure fits in every circumstances :)

Junee and there is so much more to Brussels and Belgium.  Why don't you show me your corner of the world?

This is a photo of a large display of sculptures taken when I was in Warsaw.  This depicts the freedom fighters emerging from the sewers to do battle with the occupying Germans. It is quite dramatic but sadly defiled by ignorant tourists who took great pleasure in climbing and cavorting all over these creations.

...A very powerful and dramatic sculpture, that captures what their lives were all about, there toughest times ahead fighting for the future of  their country...

jackwv

Don that is impressive, and a shame some will show so little respect.

I met these two fine gentlemen at Mamila which is an ultra chic shopping centre directly across from the Old City. The join for three years at age 18 and are armed and ready for action. So young!

Well do not know where we left off, food or travel. We had a discussion about strawberries.  I have been eating quite a few.  Appears it is the season and they are great and priced right.  I did go overboard and was afraid they would get mushy so I checked the internet.  I followed their instructions.  Washed them dried them on paper towels and put them in plastic bags removing all air possible.   The results they were a waste.  They turned soft, and even tried a few partially frozen.  I then went on the web and asked if deer ate strawberries and found they did and no warnings.  Took them to the park today and here are the results.

Jack, that is a good way to dispose of mushy strawberries.  If you eat them on cereal, I often chop up the berries and add a little sugar to bring out the juice.  You don't have to sugar the cereal that way.  I think they last a little longer that way, maybe it depends on how often you would eat them.

Nice pictures of the deer.

Mary Ann

Joy

Jack,  I think I have read how to freeze strawberries this way.   Wash and dry them well.  They have to be completely dry.  Lay them out on a cookie sheet and freeze them first.  Then, put them in freezer bags.  I have bought whole frozen strawberries that were fine.  Might be worth a try !

Mary Ann and Joy, thanks but think that is the last time I freeze strawberries, I may try the ones in the store freezer section.  The deer were not picky.

Well I learned that deer  like strawberries too :)  Good pictures!

This is still in the travel topic. But we seem to have exhausted that.
Any new suggestion?

jackwv

Bubble that is an interesting picture,  appears to be a man holding a ladder.  Did you stop to determine the meaning, if there is one.

How about your picking the next request.

so_P_bubble

Yes it is a man holding a ladder.  I could not stop to investigate: it is in the middle of roundabout!

What about art, statues, sculptures?

jackwv

#479
Bubble a good idea.

I do not have to go far for one.  This is a sand sculpture of a Golden Retriever that I have sitting in front of the ashes of My Jessie and Zoe.

Hope to see some interesting photos from all.
