Happy Thanksgiving to all - wherever you are on earth!  We are driving "over the desert and through the cacti  to oldest son's condo we go".  They move home in June so we will miss them next year.  One grandson will be with us as he has taken a week off school and work.  Yes, full time - full throttle ahead in school and work.  He needed this break.

Dressing is cooked and only need reheating - we will stay for a while but do not want to drive through the desert area in the dark.  There can be "campers" out and about.

Take care everyone.

Shirley

Wishing all Senior Friends & Families a Wonderful Thanksgiving..... eat hardy, be another year before those delicious smells invade the house.  I baked a turkey yesterday, used the broth & giblets along with the drippings & lots of turkey meat to make the base for the noodles.  I went down to my "pantry" in the basement where I store large cooking pots, crock pot & even canned foods, only to discover my large stock pot was missing.

I vaguely remember offering it to my daughter last year in a moment of extreme weariness.... so I called to see if it was true.  Twas... so I took up the big crock pot up & find it would only hold the broth & turkey bites but would have to drag out the biggest pot that came with the set of pots & pans I bought about 5 years ago (still new to me!  ;)

Turns out that pot is much larger than I remembered so after leaving the broth to simmer all night in crock pot, this morning I scooped out half & put in the other pot & looked like it could hold the whole batch of turkey & noodles (2 16 oz bags of Reams frozen egg noodles) so that is on simmer & will bring up the huge bowl of turkey already sliced & the dressing to heat in the oven so all warm & ready to eat when I arrive at the gathering.

I suggested to my son that I take a good photo of his family & mother in law because "we never know if this will be the last year his wife's mother will be able to join them.  Alzheimer's is racing much faster than expected. I had not intended to do all the baking & cooking until my DIL said her mother wanted to join the dinner, I knew it would be an emotional time for all and just wanted to make it a little easier for them.

The sun is bright, going to warm up to upper 60s (after a hard freeze night before last) and record breaking for tomorrow (70s).  Guess I'll have to rake leaves if it isn't too windy.  Right now my sidewalk to the front porch is so full of leaves when I opened the front door to invite Callie Kat in to eat, she took a look at the pile of leaves, shot into the air like a gazelle & landed on the porch.  I really don't mind raking leaves but would be nice in everyone on the street did the same.  The wind keeps blowing them different directions & the way this house sits, leaves end up staying here.  One house across the street has the same problem & my buddy at that house & I are the only ones that bag leaves.

I'd better go put a camera by my purse or I'll forget.  Remember the good years and enjoy today.  Love ya all.......Shirley

Hi Everyone and Happy Thanksgiving for those of us in the USA. Of course, everyday should be a day of Thanksgiving.  We will be having our Thanksgiving dinner probably in the late afternoon.  Pat decided this morning to bake the turkey rather than fix it in the crock pot. Jennifer is a football fan so I will have someone who enjoys watching the games with me this afternoon.  A few days ago I read the following about Thanksgiving and wanted to share it with you all today.  It contains some beautiful pictures and wise words:   http://www.ba-bamail.com/content.aspx?emailid=13127

Sandy, thanks for your comment on the piece I posted yesterday.  Some things we get are just too good not to share.

Hal, sorry you had to change your plans but we must do what is best for us.  At least you will be sharing the day with one of your children. It sounds like you are going to have some truly fall weather with the frost.

Mary Ann, I am now having to get things out of the oven for Pat.  Sometime ago I got these silicone oven mitts so I don't burn myself.  However, they are a bit clumsy and I wouldn't want to hold something too hot for too long.

Callie, nice you could do some of the preparation the day before.  The chocolate dessert sounds good.  I liked your little Thanksgiving graphic.

Amy, I guess today is just a normal Thursday up your way since you all celebrated your Thanksgiving last month.  Hope the vet appointment goes well for golden girl. Glad we will not be on the roads today. Those are nice pictures on the panels.

Carol, I wonder if lard will make a comeback in cooking now that "they" say it isn't as bad for us as once thought.  Pat gave our granddaughter the portable Bernina that she wasn't using anymore but don't think our granddaughter has used it.

Mycheal, well spoken.  As June said we are indeed blessed.

June, glad you are happy to celebrate Thanksgiving with the other residents there where you live.  I love a good macaroni salad and haven't made one is quite awhile.  Glad the doctor found you doing well and certainly something to be very thankful this day.

Lloyd, with all the food we have at Thanksgiving it is hard to not eat a little too much.  Glad to read that Nancy isn't having to do all or most of the cooking.  That will be the same way at our house today as our son and granddaughter will do most of the work although knowing Pat she will probably do a little too much.  However, I think she will be more of an adviser than active worker today.

Beverly, your posting as well as all of those who post here whether regularly or occasionally are always welcome.

Carol, glad you will be enjoying the day with your grandson as well as your son and DIL.

Shirley, how many folks do you have at your Thanksgiving meal.  From all of your cooking in large quantity is sounds like you could feed a big crowd.  :)  I bet it is all delicious.  So sorry that your son's wife's mother is being overtaken by that dread Alzheimer's. Getting that special pictures sounds like a good idea.

Joy, thanks for that nice post.  I hope you enjoy your day as well.  Will you be with family?

Thanksgiving greetings from Canada.  I agree with Larry; we have much for which to give thanks.

Tomorrow I start my first Santa gig. I'm not sure when, but I will be having my picture taken with one of my great grandsons. I'm looking forward to that.

Good Thanksgiving morning Everyone!
Truly a beautiful day here.   I thought you all might like to read some of George Washingtons first Thanksgiving Proclamation

George Washington’s Thanksgiving Proclamation

Nov 22, 2017

RUSH: The George Washington Thanksgiving proclamation establishing the national holiday was October 3rd, 1789. That was the date of the proclamation. Here’s how it begins: “Whereas, it is the duty of…” By the way, let me say something here at the outset. The Pilgrims, George Washington? They’re not just distant figures in history. These are the people who, among others, founded this country. This is genuinely awesome. That word’s thrown around, but what they did, how they got there, is historical. It’s not some distant group of people.

They are us.

“Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor â€" and whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me ‘to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.’

“Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be. That we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks â€" for His kind care and protection of the People of this Country previous to their becoming a Nation. For the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of His Providence which we experienced in the tranquility, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyed; for the peaceable and rational manner, in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted â€" for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed…”

This is shortly after the Constitution was official, giving thanks for that as well.

“And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions â€" to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually.” And “to render our national government a blessing to all the people, by constantly being a government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed. To protect and guide all Sovereigns and Nations … and to bless them with good government, peace, and concord.

To promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the encrease [sic] of science among them and us â€" and generally to grant unto all Mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best. Given under me hand at the city of New York on the 3rd day of October in the Year of Our Lord 1789, George Washington.” How many of you have heard that our founders were atheists or were agnostics? So that’s the first Thanksgiving, the official proclamation for it. It has traceable roots right back to the Pilgrims.

My all of you have a blessed holiday
Hal

Larry, as it turned out, I put the oven door ajar and the pies cooled in the oven and it was I who took the pies from the oven.  Tom’s offering to take them out was because he thought he’d take them out immediately after they finished.

Tom has said we will leave at 2 pm to head for Holland.  Holland is only about 40 miles from here and I am sure the Interstate (I-196) will be as busy as other traffic.  I'm just glad we are not flying.

James asked his dad if I had a carving set, which I do, and if I did to bring it along.  My carving set came by way of one of Mother's cousins and has mother-of-pearl handles.  The one my folks had was very utilitarian.  I have a cake/pie holder that we will carry the pies in.  We hope to bring some food back.  I just hope I don't eat too much as it's not good for me to overeat.

Have a good Thanksgiving Day, everyone.

God afternoon, from sunny Long Island, finally the wind has let up, and the Macy's parade went well, as usual. I watch it every year, then the dog show comes on which I enjoy.  So HAPPY THANKSGIVING to each of my cyber friends, which I need to keep me going.

Hal that post was great, thanks so much.

This has been a very quiet and slow day at Rowntree. We had a huge turkey dinner downstairs. Not very tasty though, and I was not alone in that. No aroma, turkey was stringy, vegetables over done..I'm glad I was not the Chef. I woke up tired, and still feel that way, so I aplologize for my nothing-ness today, while praying that you all had a most memorable, happy Thanksgiving. Looking forward to seeing you all again tomorrow. Prayers, Hugs and Lots and lots of Love. June
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Good Thanksgiving Evening to all,

I didn't have time to stop in this morning so am hoping Everyfriend had an Enjoyable Day.

The dressing was ready to go in the oven when #1 son called to say he was on the way.  It was done by the time he got here - and had put my new car tag on.

I didn't count but I'd guess there were about 25 at dil's sister's home.  Not a spoonful of chocolate dessert was left - the only empty dish among the 7 pies and cobblers on the dessert table.  There were two other pans of dressing so about a third of mine remained and son took it home with him.

Grandson/girlfriend brought me home and he brought the two big tubs of Christmas decorations from the garage to the guest bedroom.  Plan is to "undecorate" Fall before the housecleaner comes next Tuesday and then begin putting out Christmas things.

Sleep well, Everyfriend and have pleasant dreams.

Mary Ann

We had a nice day in Holland with Tom's son, DIL and their twin girls.  The DIL had fixed the turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, dressing.  We took a pumpkin pie and a cherry pie and Tom fixed the green bean casserole.  We also had rolls.  We left home about 2 pm and got home about 8 pm - that was a long day away from home, especially for me.  Anyway, a good time was had by all.  Tom's granddaughters are so cute; we haven't had a baby in the family for 21 years and it's kind of a new experience.  I have to make sure I have a good hold on the babies because I don't want to drop them.

It's just after 9 pm but when I finishe with S&F, I think I'll go to bed.

Had a good Thanksgiving and from the sound of it I was not alone.  There was on six adults and two kiddo's at the table this year.  Talked to the other part of the family in Del Rio on "facetime" on the IPad for at least 30 minutes so we saw them as well as talk to them.  We had a very good dinner and some wine, I had about 1/3 of a glass, a nice white but a mite sweet.  a big ham, two types of potatoes, candied yams, green beans, rolls and other stuff and two kinds of pie, ice cream, and cup cakes.  with me partially under the weather and my granddaughter also suffering from vertigo and not feeling well at all it all turn pretty good.  We were home early and I am tired as can be.

June, sorry you dinner was not up to par.  You still have Christmas to give them a chance to make it up.

Good Night everyone, God bless and Sweet dreams.

JaneS

Happy end of Thanksgiving Everyfriend!  There were 7 of us at my daughter's for dinner and enough food for a small army!  We tried our best but we didnt even make a dent in it.

I came home, took care of the doggies and rested up a bit then started to make dog food and the pphone rang.  It was my granddaughter in Texas and we chatted and reminisced about Thanksgivings past for about a half hour.  That was pretty neat!

I;m off to bed.  I have to brave the crazy Black Friday shoppers tomorrow and I'm sure glad I have my spot reserved!

God bless us, every one!

Good Morning everyone.
hope you all were wiser than I, I ate too much. holiday meals are as bad as going to a smorgasbord board, was great tho plenty good food and I took small portions of everything and amounted to too much. I am afraid to step on the scales to see how much I gained back. have a great day today hope not too many tummy aces.

Gloria

Good morning everyone. I enjoyed Thanksgiving at my grandson's home. My son came for me early to go to his home. They had my great grandson overnight so his parents could cook without him bothering them. Now that I really enjoyed Don't think I have ever seen a 2 1/2 year old as smart as he is. First time I really have had time to enjoy him like that without a lot of others around. My rollator still fascinated him so I sat on the couch with it in front of me, he would look at me and look at it with an impish gleam in his eyes. He would put a hand on it and pull it back. I told him it was OK so he got in back of it reached for the handles and gave it a little push. I asked him if he would like a ride on it and he said yes.  His "Papa" put him on the seat and  i pushed him around the living room. Of course he loved it. He got off and  kept looking at it, asked if he wanted to push it and of course he had fun pushing it in the living room. My son has a new TV, Their living room is huge so the TV is, too. 60 inches wide and beautiful sharp picture. He had the Macy Parade on and the colors were so bright. First time I have seen part of the parade in years and I did not enjoy any of it. When did they start with those "singers?" where you cannot understand where the rhythm of music is or what any of the words are?
Their younger son was in the back room watching football and my little one was hollering Uncle so he came into the LR to see what he wanted and showed him how he could push the rollator around the room. He was the best part of my day. I do not get to see him that often. The meal was wonderful at grandson's home, he does most of the cooking, and has always enjoyed it but his wife does it during the week and they work so good together. Her parents were there and very nice couple. When they brought me home I was worn out but I enjoyed the whole day. Sitting so much got to my back and when I got home I got ready for bed and by 8 I was in bed. Christmas will be a repete but at my son's home.

LARRY my olderson has a big fridge with side by side doors but both open the fridge  and the freezer is on the bottom. They can get a lot of food in both. Other son has a side by side  and it was what his wife wanted but he does not care for it. I don't think it is the cooking I minded doing for holiday meals, it was the clean up after, putting food away and then all the dirty dishes. My daugher in law got smart this year and had pretty Thanksgiving heavy duty paper plates and they have a dish washer. My DIL started getting paper plates, too, with the big family meals. When her family get together for those mealsw they all bring part of the meal and the has been over 50 people at times. She has 5 sisters and one brother. A close family, I had already known most of them before my son and DIL got married 43 years ago. Love what you posted. Tried to copy it but this darn computer will not let me.

HAL  sorry you were not able to spent the holiday with most of your family. Not being able to sleep in your own bed  is bad enough but being away from home and trying to sleep is not good. Hope you enjoyed your day.

MARY ANN  no pies yesterday at mu grandson's. Apple crisp my DIL made, a  carrot cake, home made from scratch from his MIL and a cheesecake. I had a small clice of cheesecake. When we were ready to leave my grandson handed me a bag. I opened it when I got home and it had some of all the food we had and a big slice of the carrot cake. I think it was the cheese cake I had that had my food intake yesterday over the limit. I know I felt uncomfortable when I got home. Too much sitting, after a meal like that I needed a walk but too much trouble getting the rollator up and down the stairs again. That JL card was the hew one for this year. I love the way they animate those cards.

AMY  years ago when my daughter and I were into painting and decorating Tshirts and sweatshirts I bought some material with wolves on it,some gig and some small. My daughter sewed a large one on the back of a sweat jacket and some small ones on the posckets. I still have it.

CAROL  at 18 my daughter was the head cook in the best nursing home in this are. She started working there at 16 washing dishes. The owner saw she was a good worker and always finding things to do to keep busy. When the cook retired her assitant got the job but then she started telling the owner what to do and he was not happy with her so he fired her and gave my daughter the job. She not onlly cooked but she was always busy doing something. When her and my SIL set the date for their wedding she gave her notice ot quitting to the owner a month ahead. He told her that was not enough time to find someone to replace her and he ended hiring 2 people.  She still enjoys cooking but at times she will get into a spree of sewing and her cooking takes a back seat.  My SIL never had good meals before he married her, his mother's cooking was TV dinners. She taught him to enjoy a variety of fruit and veggies and meat.

AMY  even if those photos do not show the panels in their beauty I love the snow ones and I can see why you like the wolf one.

LLOYD  I did eat too much yesterday but the food was soooo gooood.

HAL  last night it got down in the 20's. You think you were cold?

BEVERLY   miss you and wish you would post more often. Not enough of us Yankees post here.

JEANNE LEE  we are thankful you are home and posting again.

SHIRLEY  I woshed I had a camera yesterday I would have been taking dozens of them of my little great grandson. He has those big dark eyes that you can see the imp in them and wonder what he is thinking what to do next. Makes me wish I could see what my other 2 great grands of my older deceased grandson are like now, they are 11 and 9 now and last time any of the family saw them the oldest was 4.

LARRY  I enjoy Babamail. So many good items in every one of them.

DON  hope you are enjoying being Santa today. I think that is your favorite role.

GLORIA de  my biggest thanks for yesterday was the time with my great grandson at my son's home with only my son and DIL there. I do not get to see hin often and I wondered if he would be shy but he wasn't.

JUNE  sorry your meal was not tasty yesterday, the is not a nice feeling. Last year at my younger son's home was like that for me. His wife seems to like making vegetable that she knos I can not eat, full of onions and at times you cannot tell what she used for veggies.

CALLIE  glad you had a bood time yesterday. Glad your grandson took your Christmas decorations into the house for you.

MARY ANN  yesterday was the first time since my great grandson was about a week old that he sat on my lap. He climbed on the couch next to me and ended on my lap and I got hugs from him.

HAL  I ate too much yesterday and was uncomfirtable when I got home. Was only cocmfortable laying down so was in bed at 8. Was surprised I went right to sleep and slept good.

JANE  hope you have happy people in your line today.

LLOYD  like you I had a small helping of every thing yesterday but should have passed on the dessert. If I ate like that every day I would put on a few pounds that I do need.

Hi Everyone. It is another beautiful and clear morning here in South Carolina.  So all of those shoppers looking for all of those bargains around here will have a nice day to be out.  I won't be among them.  I do have to make a quick trip to the grocery store for some bread and hot dog buns but that will be it as far as being out today.

We had a nice afternoon and early evening with Scott and Jennifer.  Jennifer's first efforts at making pumpkin and pecan pies turned out very well and the turkey and all of the side dishes were good.  There were not many left overs and most of those we sent home with Scott and Jennifer.  Now that Thanksgiving is over I will start playing some of the many Christmas songs I have in my Spotify playlist.

Don (Santa), I hope you enjoy every minutes of your Christmas jobs.  Will the picture with your great grandson be with you as Santa?

Hal, thanks for sharing the into on the first Thanksgiving proclamation. I misunderstood your posting yesterday so was surprised to see that there were 8 of you to share the Thanksgiving meal.  Isn't Facetime great as it seems like the other people are right across the table from you as you talk.  I use it all the time to visit with my friend in Georgia.

Mary Ann and deAngel, I replied to your posts in the B&T Discussion so won't repeat myself here.

June, I wonder if your Thanksgiving dinner may have been cooked the day before?  I hope you got some extra rest yesterday.

Callie, that was quite a group for the meal.  The chocolate dessert must have been a real hit.  Nice of your grandson to bring in your Christmas decorations.  Our son will help Pat get hers down from the attic although we won't decorate too much.  At least Pat didn't last week.

Jane, it sounds like there were a lot of good leftovers from your dinner.  Hope you were able to bring some home for another meal or two. I don't envy you your day with the cash register.

Lloyd, when there are so many different dishes it is easy to have a lot of food even with small portions.  Glad you enjoyed your day.

Amy, hope you were able to get some Christmas shopping done.  You probably don't have the frenzy up there we do with the Black Friday and other sales right after Thanksgiving.

Gloria, what a special time you experienced with the young great grandson.  At that age everything is an adventure for them.  Nice you let him play with your rollator.  You didn't enjoy the parade for the same reason we don't watch it anymore.  It sounds like you had a wonderful and memorable day.  Nice you were sent home with some leftovers.

larryhanna

Hi Everyone. How about a little senior humor for today.

1. I changed my car horn to gunshot sounds. People get out of the way much faster now.

2. Gone are the days when girls used to cook like their mothers.  Now they drink like their fathers.

3. You know that ?thingy? little feeling you get when you really like someone? That?s common sense leaving your body.

4. I decided to stop calling the bathroom the?John? and renamed it the ?Jim.?
I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

5. Old age is coming at a really bad time. When I was a child I thought ?nap time? was a punishment.
Now, as a grownup, it feels like a small vacation.

6. The biggest lie I tell myself is...?I don?t need to write that down, I?ll remember it.?

7. I don?t have gray hair; I have ?wisdom highlights.? I?m just very wise.

8. Teach your daughter how to shoot, because a restraining order is just a piece of paper.

9. If God wanted me to touch my toes, He would have placed them on my knees

10. Why do I have to press one for English when you?re just going to transfer me to someone I can?t understand anyway?

11. Of course I talk to myself; sometimes I need expert advice.

12. At my age ?getting lucky? means walking into a room and actually remembering what I came in there for.

13. I am what is called a ?Seenager?(senior teenager) I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 60 years
later. I don?t have to go to school or work. I get an allowance every month. I have my own pad. I don?t have a  curfew.
I have a driver?s license and my own car. I have an ID that gets me into bars and the whiskey store. The people I hang
around with are not scared of getting pregnant.

14. Life is great. I have more friends who I should send this to, but right now I can?t remember their names.

Good Morning Everyone!
Seems everyoe had a good Thanksgiving. And plenty to eat.  I got a call from my doctor bright and early, he got my email I send Wednesday afternoon and he increased my dosage on my water pills and wants to see me Monday.  No more pills to help me rest, maybe the water pills will help.

Janie, I don't envy you today, WM will be a mad house, I'm sure we will see some ights on the news tonight.

Texas got one of their troopers killed yesterday afternoon about 4.  They caught the guywho did the deed.  I feel bad for the family, bless them and comfort them.

Gloria, proud as a peacock you are, and so you should be.  I smiled all the time you were talking about your GGrandson.  They are great especially when you can spoil the dickens out of them and then send them back to Mom and Dad ;D.   Hope you are all rested up this morning.

Amy, hope your day is going well and hubby is feeling chipper. Bet you have a big fire roaring in the fireplace.

Lloyd, hehehehehe. How long have you said you are going to get that old skidster running.  Hope you getter done tis time.

Well I am going to check out some of the Black Friday prices online, just for grines and maybe wish a little for Santa to bring it to me......

Mary Ann, good looking family and pretty lady in the center.  ;)

We had a nice Thanksgiving too.  Tom and I drove to Holland to be with his son and family.  Tom’s daughter also came from Grand Rapids to be with us.  There were five adults and the babies had food of their own (they’re 9 months old).  Hal’s mention of candied yams made me realize I didn’t have to eat sweet potato casserole (or maybe it was candied yam casserole) which is not one of my favorite foods.  We took along a pumpkin pie and a cherry pie.  The pumpkin pie was rather bland and it was not until we were on our way home that I realized I had read the ingredients for the spices off one of the labels and did not double the amounts as we made two pumpkin pies.  My fault.

Lloyd, I was afraid I would overeat, what with all of the good food, but I made it through the night by being able to sleep so I was nothing worse for wear.

Amy, good for Golden Girl being in good health.  I love Goldens; my nephew had one years ago.

Jane, I hope you were just busy enough today to make working enjoyable.  I have avoided Black Fridays for many years.

Gloria, I watched some of Macy’s parade and I feel the same way you do about the singers singing songs we can’t understand, in fact, I think I heard only one singer I was familiar with â€" Smokey Robinson.  And it is only his name that is familiar, not his music.  Not only were the singers unknown to me, most of them had people in front of them so it was hard to see them in the first place.  I’ll bet you did have fun with your great-grandson.  Where I was, the babies are Norm’s great-granddaughters.  They’re only 9 months, so not talking yet, but they are into wiggling all over the floor, smiling like crazy, interested in the buttons on my sweater and both of them were interested in my pearl necklace which I stuck down the neck of my top; we didn’t need pearls all over the floor.  Tom had watched the first half of the football game and we drove to Holland during half time so we could watch the second half there.  Gloria, I find that age has its privileges because I don’t have to help anymore.  Yesterday Annie helped Alicia, but James and Tom got into the act too.  I just sat there!

Gloria, I think it is interesting that we have people posting from Israel, England, all over the US, Canada, Japan and Australia.  When I was on AOL, we had a group where a woman from Hawaii posted and here we had people from New Zealand.  I hope I haven’t missed any countries.

Hal, thank you for the compliment.  Now when I say I’m short, you know it!  I wish the picture was more compact so the faces would have shown better, but I’m happy with the results.

If anyone else wants to see the picture of part of my family, go to Norm’s Bait & Tackle.

Lots of whitecaps on Lake Michigan, but no kites or surfers that I can see.

End of book.

Gloria:  I love the story of your granddaughter - she is a winner!  You made me feel good because I was just internally griping about always having to be the one to "be in charge of house jobs".  Being the oldest child and only girl - I had a mental pity party for a short time and now feel refreshed from reading notes in here.

Larry:  Love love love your words of wisdom today.

Sandy:  It is sunny and record-breaking hot in Tucson today.  It may cool on December 4th. but is going to be 90 degrees soon.  100 year old records being broken.  Stay cool.  You have a beautiful family !

Don is exhausted from yesterday.

Good Afternoon.  All of a sudden the morning has vanished and I am no further along than I was several hours ago.

I had a very nice Thanksgiving.  My son and I went to his son's house and got to see my little great-granddaughters, who I haven't seen for a while now.  <y grandson has a new little baby boy, who I hadn't seen yet.  It was mostly my grandson's girlfriends family there,  that we hadn't met yet.  But, it all turned out well. Everyone was very nice and friendly and I felt comfortable with everyone.  Several friends of my grandson's came who I hadn't seen for a while either.  Had a delicious dinner with a big variety of all kinds of good food.   It was a long day, but I really was glad that I got to go and really the whole day.

Now, have to rest up today.

It looks pretty and sunny out, but I understand it is chilly.

I am so glad to read that everyone had a nice Thanksgiving spent with lots of family.

June, I am sorry to read that you didn't enjoy your meal that much.  That was very unusual, wasn't it?  You usually will say that you have had some good meals there.  Did they change chefs, do you know?  What a disappointment for everyone.

Since it is past lunch time, I do need to pull myself together and get on with the day.  As usual, when I go out for a day, it takes me all day the next day to recuperate.

Hope everyone will enjoy the rest of their Friday.

I'm home and rested and since they now start the Black Friday sales at 5pm on Thanksgiving, we were not busy at all.  As Larry said, we were just busy enough to keep things moving and make the hours pass.

It's been a busy place here since I got home.  My granddaughter who lives in Maryland came by to spend some last minute time with me and she brought along her Aunt Cathy (my daughter who lives here).  We had a little visit and she left with a bag of peanut butter chocolate saltines to hold her over until Christmas

While they were here, my SIL and grandson came over to deal with my leaves.  My yard looks great and all it cost me was a couple of hugs!

Now I'm going to go do a couple of errands and when I get back,I'm going to collapse and watch some TV through my eyelids.  Unless I think of something else to get into.

LLOYD Wal-Mart incorporated in the 70s and thereby became owned by the stockholders just like any other corporation.  The living Walton family members are the majority stockholders.  That means that they still have a controlling interest in the corporation.  You might say that I'm one of the owners.  I've been buying into the stock program through payroll deduction for about 20 years now. When we do that the company also contributes a percentage.

They are NOT owned by China!  Whoever told you that, please set them straight.

I'm going to go finish cleaning up my kitchen and throw a load of wash in the washer.  Then I'm going to bed early.  I think I'll be back to say good night.

just lost my post, so I'll try again. I am unfamiliar with the term "black friday", but assume it has something to do with shopping. I had my own personal black friday. Woke up tired again, so I just took the day off and stayed home. I had a light lunch and will have a light supper too. My housekeeper did the linen change and cleaned the bathroom....next week is what they call "deep" cleaning..meaning vacuuming and  and dusting of everything, including blinds, pictures, etc.

I am hoping to wake tomorrow feeling like a human being again. I resent the days when I feel like I will soon be 93 years old. I'm thankful for getting there, but days like today, and yesterday, are not what I want. Makes me a crabby old lady. And ashamed for being a crab.

Time to heat up some supper, but want to tell you all how much I love you, and how thankful I am that you are there.  :-*
As long as we are here, let's dance.

June, don't worry about turning 93 next week.  I have days where I feel like 193 and others that I feel in my 80s.  Last week as Tom and I left a building, I told him I felt like an old lady.  He said, "well, you are"!  And I am!  Just keep on keeping on.

Do you have a word program on your computer?  I sometimes write my message in Word and when I'm finished I copy it and paste it onto Reply in this folder.  The message in Word stays there until I delete it so if I do lose it, I can go back to Word to retrieve it.  I have a PC and I know you have a Mac so things may not be alike.
