Amy, why did your mother stand out in the cold to beat the fudge.  I can't see anything in the directions that suggest beating it cold, or did I miss something.

Sorry I am late with this.

Good evening everyone. Had a busy day even after my early appointment. Talked to my daughter earlier. Surgery went good yesterday, a hysterectomy. She told me the doctor and her were both in a hurry to get the surgery done and they confirmed that there was cancer in there and they got it all. Thank God. She did not tell me that before because she knows how I worry all the time. Tonight I will be able to sleep once again. This is the first surgery for her at almost 64 years old. 12-27 is her birthday.They will be heading home tomorrow. I do feel better now.

HAL  I used to make fudge like you mentioned for Christmas and anytime I had the urge for some. I also at times added peanut butter to it and make peanutbuter fudge too. I tried divinity several times but it never came out right. These days Icannot stand at the stove to kep stirring so cannot make it.

LLOYD  I have had bought fudge but it is not as good as home made.

JANE  wish I had a recipe for you but I never made many casseroles.

LARRY  watching Jepardy and the catagory on New England I knew all the answers, made me feel smart for a change.

JOY  yesterday and today were bith cloudy damp and windy. Winter coat days. sounds an easy cookie to make.  care to share that recipe, would like to try it.

AMY  I had a recipe for penuche fudge that is made with brown sugar and it was so good but some how over the years I lost it.

Thank you all for the Birthday wishes. I'm starting the 93rd. year now.

And a very Happy Birthday to you my Jenny girl.

Gary and Dori and their son R.J. came over to have lunch with me. I am SO grateful. Dori brought a huge tray of the best home made cupcakes I have ever eaten. I intend to ask her for the recipe to pass on to those of you who still bake. I have a lovely new light weight flannel nitey and new house slippers. I feel so very Blessed. R.J. is a 6 foot policeman, and huge. He was wearing his uniform so got lots of comments from the residents.

Not to happy health-wise, but it could be worse..sort of a sore throat and cough. Spent the rest of the day at home. Avoided close hugs and kisses....darn.

Gloria, I am SO very happy that your daughters surgery was a success, and she is free of the cancer. Thanks be to God.

I am off to bed and book, after I gargle with salt water...it really does help. I love you all "a bushel and a peck, and a hug around the neck." God is with  us all. Thanks be to God.

Well, I have been meaning to post my Happy Birthday Wishes to both June and Jenny.  Please forgive me for being tail end charlie.
June, 93 years, you have seen a lot of life.  Both the good and the bad.  And you raised a good loving family.

Jenny you to.  You have have a good family to sustain you in these the twilight years.

June, don't let that cold get a hold.

GLORIA, so good to read that Regina’s surgery went well and they got all of the cancer out.  My thoughts and prayers for a full and speedy recovery for her.  Hugs to you, mama.  I know it is hard to not be there with your little girl.

I've been doing a lot of typing today and I was jut going to say Good night. but I MUST wish the "two J's"  a very happy birthday before it's too late.  I see June's day was lovely and I hope Jenny's was too!

Gloria, we can say "Thank you God" for answering all our prayers for Regina with a yes.  I hope she has a speedy recovery.

And now my friends, I wish you a good night and remind you that I'm still collecting recipes for my granddaughter if you have a crock pot or casserole to share.  I have 2 from Canada.  I think she'd like them from ANYWHere.

Unless you're both up really late, this will be a belated wish because I haven't been in yet today but it's just as  for each of you:


The weather cleared yesterday so DIL and I had a great time shopping. We didn't even need coats!  When we got back to my house, she helped put my meager outdoor decorations in place.  Then we visited for a long time before I shooed her home so she wouldn't be in the commuter traffic.  'Twas a lovely day.

Busy morning with various things and then had to be ready to go out for the evening.
Sons and Spouses and I went to the OKC Philharmonic Christmas Show.
It was sparkly, lively, beautiful and absolutely delightful.
On the way to bring me home we drove through downtown OKC to see all the Christmas lights.
What a delightful way to begin December.

JaneS,  I plan to send you a recipe or two for your granddaughter.

Joy,  I used to make those peanut butter cookies for Miss Ellen because she is gluten intolerable and somewhat dairy intolerable.   I couldn't believe those three ingredients would actually make cookies!  They're really good.
