Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

Very nice, Marilyn!

I am now having issues with my brush folder. After importing a brush for the following tut, (And after checking to see it was listed as imported!); I found that it was not listed in the dropped down, even when it was listed as imported, I re-checked! Then many of the brushes and my brush avatars were on a slant even when I could find no setting to change their style such as with test. I did find a new brush but it was not the look the tut was going for.... :knuppel2: :knuppel2:

Lifetime

I decided to take a break from tuts and do my own thing for a moment, so here is Lady;

angelface555

Now all my Andrew plugins say they were not installed correctly! I will just delete those nonviable and simply apply those needed for tuts and make sure they work before using. Anyway, it is very humid outside with a flush of barometric pressure and my head is aching so I'm not dealing well with frustration right now. On an up note, even with little rain and simply a dampness to the air has caused the buds on the trees to begin to unfurl and there is a new green cast to the hills that is very welcoming.

Sarah is still ailing, not really eating but drinking water and eliminating. She has spent a few moments out here several times which is better than Sunday's hiding, but I am both broke and concerned.

Anyway, I finished my first lesson for the Wini group and it looks like their picture so I am happy, no deviations here which are my normal style. I wonder how Phyllis is doing and if she will be back? I was looking forward to her work! She inspired me to take lessons as well.

I'm here, Angel.  Had some household things to tend to.  Also, I've had my head stuck in PSP working on tuts.  I'm glad to hear that you have joined that class.  I'll keep watch for the lessons you send to the group.

Here are Lessons 5, 7, and 8.

I had a lot of fun with the following one.  I used one of my snagged tubes and that made the foreground and background colors from the tut look wrong so I changed those.  Then the heart ping that was supplied was in the wrong color so I played with colorizing and then paint brush to paint little pink flowers to match the girl's hair ribbons.  Took me a long time but I enjoyed it.  The effects that the tut writer used in this one were interesting to me.

This one is really lovely Phyllis.  Great composition

Thank you, Bubble.  I'm enjoying working on PSP again and I'm slowly getting things installed back into the program that I had lost.  I found some of the gradients that I used to have and used a lot on Deviantart.com the other day.  An artist named Elvensword used to make and share loads of wonderful gradients.  But, my plugins are a mess and I have avoided doing any deleting of unusable effects for fear I'll end of messing up the whole thing!

Bubble, Solitaria is really scary!

I should edit and say I can see where you put a lot of work into this graphic and that shows...but I reiterate that it is scary!

angelface555

My lesson 2, I'm enjoying relearning and finding that my biggest issue is me and not paying attention to details!

phyllis

Ditto that, Angel.  I tend to skip over things and then have to go back and go back and go back....on and on.

:-[ Speaking of that Phyllis, I redid lesson #3 twice incorrectly and finally, in despair sent it to my mod asking where I went wrong!

My mod wants to work with me on yahoo messenger on lesson #3, but I don't know how to add her. So I tried writing a message using the name she sent and yahoo said it wasn't valid. That's for another day I suppose.

This next three are from my playing around, mixing, misting, using plugins and what not. This first one turned out really well in my own humble opinion!  ;D  8)

angelface555

This one was misting, mixing and using eye candy 5, eye candy 7 and flaming pear's flood.

Sometime soon I want to get back to relearning and using arithmetic.

This one might have done better with a more defined frame. But I was thinking simple because of the busy background.

I want to thank Bubble for her very much needed and loved assistance and for the jealousy from graphics past that made me keep trying to come back!

angelface555

An attempt at room design, this shows how much I've forgotten....

Rumba or ballet?

I love that frame in the last Angel, looks just fitting.

406 and 406 are gems.  Bravo!

The dancers would need a little more "floor", she seen=ms on the verge of touching the wall :D

The tulips caught my attention.
I tried to visualize them with the same background but a bit lighter or maybe "foggy" ? such as when adding a light cream layer that will have lower opacity.
That is what I do when I like an amage and want it for desktop but without being obtrusive.

so_P_bubble

As for my Solitaria, it is that ghastly green that makes is so witchy scary   :2funny:
But then her body was that green.  Yes, I would not have liked to meet her face to face, even with the art work!

406 and 406 are gems? I hope you meant it to be #405 as I really liked that one. Perhaps we are viewing my dancers through a doorway?  ;)

I am still struggling with lesson #3 but I don't have time today as I am taking Sarah to an emergency vet visit. She hasn't eaten since Sunday although she drinks and eliminates. She seems feverish and last night she started crying out at times as if in pain. She comes to me and cries and I just cry with her because I don't know what's wrong. She never leaves the apartment and she doesn't jump up with her amputated tail to the plants so I can only believe I brought something in with me on my hands or my shoes.

Who knows what filter conjured up that background for those flowers? I never write these things down when I'm playing...

I understood what you were saying, however. Here is another attempt using Eye Candy7 for all effects other than 3D shadow and rectangle selection. I used a reflection effect along with a marble effect on the background and a glass on the frame. I also softened the opacity on two layers.

so_P_bubble

I definitely meant 405 - it was a gem, as I said before :)

Yes, that background is much to what I had in mind, but why soften the tulips? they were striking as they were.  Now that dark line is really bothering me :D .  I am a pest, right?  I have to add that the frame is good on these tulips.

This one had me tearing my hair out, pacing the floor and saying a few choice words!  One of the plug-ins would simply disappear when I tried to install it.  Finally, after hours and hours (and I mean that literally) I discovered that it was installing in the wrong folder.  When I finally got it to install where I wanted it to go it worked.  And after all of that, I don't think its effect was enough to warrant all of the trouble I went to.   :tickedoff:

Beware, Angel, when you download the NIK Color plugin for Lesson 9.  You have to run the exe and be sure you know where the file is going.  I finally found it tucked away in C program files and when I moved it to MY Plugins folder it showed up, at last, in the PSP effects.

Phyllis, it does look impressive.
I am not good at melting pictures together.
