Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

Mary Ann, we are 33 right now and doubt it will get any higher.  Did not do a long range look/see so after our 17 tonight I have no idea.

Marilyne

joan - We spent one Christmas at Camp Hanford, just outside of Richland.  (I don't think the Army post exists anymore?) I remember Christmas morning, watching the neighbor kids playing outside with their new toys and bikes.  I don't think it was ever as cold as what you're getting now? We got some snow when we lived there, but not until Jan. or Feb?  Can't remember because it was a long time ago - Christmas 1957!

Mary Ann - You mentioned not understanding everything that Guy Fieri had to say, and I'm wondering if you turn on your closed captioning when you watch TV?  We have cc on constantly, except for live programs.  Neither of us can understand the dialogue anymore at all without it!  Really helps to make viewing more enjoyable.
That reminds me, last night I watched an old Christmas movie on TCM, from 1940.  It was called "Remember the Night", starring Barbara Stanwyck and Fred McMurray. It was really very good, and at one point in the story, the actor Sterling Holloway sang the old song, "When You Come To The End of a Perfect Day".  It was so pretty and he had such a nice voice.  Years later he worked for Disney, doing voices for various cartoon characters.

Mary Ann

Marilyn, I don't usually wear my hearing aids at home and I don't pay that much attention to what the people are saying, so if I really wanted to understand Guy Fieri, I'd pay more attention.

Funny, but I don't remember any particular cold Christmas.  We probably stayed inside with our new toys (for all ages) and we probably had snow, at least most of the time.  I'm more likely to remember certain Christmases - such as the first Christmas without my mother and when I was six and got a Baby Dimples doll and when Norm was in Germany and the many things he sent us.  Maybe I don't remember a particular cold Christmas because to my knowledge it was always cold!  I only remember Christmas in Michigan!

I still don't know what we're going to do this year, nor when, for Tom and his kids and I guess, for me, it doesn't matter.  The get-together part can be done at any time.  I expect to get to church tomorrow, with Tom's help, and that doesn't change.

MaryAnn, North Pole is a small town about 26 miles south of us, and it's major claim to fame is back in the fifties they made Christmas the town's theme. That's why all the light poles and street lights are painted like candy canes, and the street names always refer to Christmas. Also, they have a city tax, and we do not which is why many folks drive here to shop. I Googled restaurants, and this is what I found. I wonder if Fieri ever made it further north to us?

Patricia, while I heard the name Fairbanks, I doubt Fieri got up there, at least for the program.  I really didn't pay total attention to the program and I don't think the Thai restaurant was one featured.  I noticed two of the restaurants had Chinese cooks and maybe others did too.  One of the restaurants had a woman cook and she and her husband owned it - The Cookie Jar.  I had the program on as the lesser of several evils; I didn't like what was on the other channels I watched.  I think I can get well over 500 channels and I watch only a half dozen.  I would say I'm a TV snob!

Guy Fieri may have been to Alaska, but not on this trip.  He has been to Hawaii several times.  You can tell when he's away from the lower 48 because he has a different car.  They try to have a red convertible, but I've seen him drive a Jeep.  He also has been to Mexico.

I was in North Pole when I visited Alaska in 2006 and I bought a sweat shirt with the Alaska flag on it (stars).  They had a lot of Christmas stuff but I think the sweat shirt was the only thing I bought.  And now I don't wear sweat shirts; maybe I should get it out of the drawer and wear it because it's going to go to single digits this coming week.  Brrr.

I live in a Township and we don't have an income tax, either, but the city does.

Mary Ann

angelface555

A quick note; Jennifer Jolis who went to my church, is a well-known caterer and owns restaurants here and I guess in North Pole, named The Cookie Jar. It has to be the same person but I didn't know she had or was married. Her desserts are wonderful!

Marilyne

Patricia & Mary Ann: Tonight, the Guy Fieri show from Alaska was playing here . . . the same one that you watched last night, Mary Ann.  Both Elf's Den and The Pagoda were featured.  Then he went to a town called Fox.  I don't remember the name of the restaurant there, but there was a brewery also?  Finally he ended up in Fairbanks, at The Cookie Jar!  He was in the kitchen with Jennifer Jolls, while she was making a delicious looking cinnamon roll!  Lots of desserts, but her restaurant also served regular meals, as well as cookies and pastries.  All of the food everywhere, looked absolutely fabulous. The presentation at all the places he visited, was very well done.

Marilyne, I almost wish I had a TV. Perhaps I can find it on the computer? Fox is a small, tiny town, (ex gold mining camp); up on a ridge east of town, the opposite of my balcony view. The folks who live up there are independent, contrary types. A collection of homesteaders, hippies, Russian emigrants and some Old Believers who are very similar to Mennonites except they left the Russian Orthodox church roughly the same time that the Amish left theirs.

Jenifer Jolis is a lovely lady who must be in her early seventies now but is a fabulous cook, and her Cookie Jar restaurant here has had to go to reservations only. All the food is from her recipes or her adaptations. She catered my second wedding so has been in business a long time since I have been divorced a long time.  ::)

This area is becoming known for its microbreweries. In the summer and fall, you can go on several tours similar to the wine tastings in your area. Fox's water has a reputation for purity and there is a famous stream there that many who rent dry cabins use for a small fee.

I was sitting here, doing a PSP Christmas card for the card section here when fireworks went off right outside my balcony window! It took me a few moments to calm my heart and realize that they were following that inane custom of celebrating on the weekend rather than the actual day. This was a Winter Solstice party to celebrate the returning minutes of light. The exact date was the 21st. But I guess they thought there would be more money if it were on the weekend.

Farrah calmly sat up and watched the show on the table by the window. I went over and picked her up, and she was very calm, no heart racing or trembling. I was surprised as every other cat I've had would have gone immediately as far from the noise as possible.

There were the usual swish sounds as well as the booms and "thunk" sounds for about an hour, and the fireworks were very well thought out per shapes, colors, and styles for nearly an hour. We have firework shows for the Winter Solstice, Christmas and New Years and since they use Golden Heart Park, just two streets over, I have a front row seat from my living room. Winter is the only time you can see fireworks as the summer is 24/7 daylight for three months.

Mary Ann

Thank you, Hal, that was lovely.  I do think my furry friend would not appreciate the cookies or milk, but it's the thought that counts!

Marilyn, thank you for the information about Guy Fieri's visit to Alaska.  Patricia, on the program, the owner and/or chef is usually identified.  I am sure Jennifer Jolis was named as owner, but later a man also was named as owner.  I could not have told you the names of either one, but I assumed (never do that!) they were a married couple, as often is the case.  Guy is always at some out-of-the-way place, not some well known restaurant - hence the name of the show "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" which he often refers to as "Triple D".

Time to get ready for church.

Mary Ann

larryhanna

Hi Everyone. It was 55 degrees here this morning when I got up and we are headed to 65 degrees this afternoon.  Yesterday we got to 75 degrees and a very beautiful day.  We did get some rain last evening and perhaps during the night as I see the streets are still damp.

Yesterday after my meeting I stopped at the grocery store as planned.  I was so relieved to see that three electric carts were available as it is a large store and I wasn't feeling up to par.  We expect Scott and Jennifer over later today.  Jennifer is planning on spending the night so she can get an early start on the Christmas dinner.  This will be the first time in about 34 years that she has spend a night with us.  She and her folks lived with us from the time she was about 6 months old until she was a year old when her mother left to visit her mother in Kansas City and never came back.  I expect to have a quiet, unhurried and restful day today.  I will probably watch some football this afternoon.

Marilyne, I can visualize your program with the coffee as a couple of times I have forgotten to put the cup under the spout of the Keurig coffee maker.  Fortunately it puts out only one cup but that is enough to make a mess so I can image what a whole pot of coffee would do.  I have also been know to forget to put int he coffee and just end up with a cup of hot water.  Nothing is gained if we beat ourselves over little mistakes.  In the long run "how important is it" as it will get cleaned up and you will end up with an interesting story to share with your friends.

Joan, that sounds like a nice snow event to put everyone in the mood for the holidays.

Mary Ann, Walmart now offers someday online ordering but you have to allow them 4 hours to get the order ready.  Since Tom isn't feeling well it is good that the online ordering is available and he won't have to walk the grocery isles.  I think that is what caused me to have a bad day yesterday as had to walk the isles in Walmart the day before.  I guess in the future I will have to wait until an electric cart becomes available. Some of our traditions have to chance as time progresses. Sounds like it is time for those winter garments when you start getting down to zero.  We have had Christmas celebrations from Alaska to Maryland and Virginia and many places in between.  That was when we had a lot more energy than we do today.

Marilyne, have you and AJ ever tried the headphones when you watch TV.  Pat and I use them a lot where there is dialogue to hear and she can set the volume she needs and I can set mine lower.  We like many of the British show and the headphones let us understand what is being said.  We have had ours for several years and they are wireless and made by Sennheiser and were reasonably priced.

Patricia, I guess in my mind I have always thought of the North Pole as being North of Fairbanks.  Interesting information on how the town has capitalized on Christmas.  Nice that you have a front row seat for the fireworks displays.  That is a lot of fireworks in a very short period of time.

Mary Ann, it is a shame we have to pay for so many TV channel when there are only a few that we watch.  They have good marketing in placing the channels people really enjoy like the Hallmark Channel and ESPN in the higher tiers.

Hal, that is certainly a cute Christmas video you shared.  I am going to send that link on to friends.

FlaJean

Hal, that video was so cute.  I shared it with my family.

Marilyne, I use a measuring cup to fill my Mr. Coffee, so the carafe is always there.  But I have forgotten to put in the coffee a few times and ended up with hot water.  Oh, this getting older is not fun.  :(

Merry the day before Christmas

Dot did not go to church this morning, so I had Tom take me, then pick me up afterward.  If he felt better, I would have asked Tom to go with me, but he is feeling so miserable that I knew he wouldn’t want to go under any circumstances.  Tom and I went to Mr Burger after church where I had a Tuna Melt and he had a breakfast combo of eggs and pancakes.  I ate ¾ of my sandwich.  Usually Dot and I split one.  Three or four of Dot’s friends asked about her whereabouts this morning.

Marilyn, I can relate to your coffee problem, I think in more ways than one.  When I would visit Norm and Dot in Florida, I usually put the water in the coffeemaker as I got up before either of them did.  Dot always put the coffee grounds in the container and put that in the coffeemaker.  My job was to measure the water and put that in the coffeemaker and turn the thing on.  During all of my years of going down there, they got one or two new coffeemakers and I know one time I put water in and we ended up with water all over the counter.  Another time, I think I pushed the wrong switch and the coffee was cold.  My way of fixing coffee for me is much more simple â€" I drink flavored coffee so I heat the water in the microwave, then put the powdered coffee in the water.

Larry, there was some sort of glitch in Tom’s picking up the grocery order yesterday but I don’t quite remember what it was.  I think it had to do with the pickup time and it wasn’t ready when they said it would be.  They called Tom before time to let him know so he didn’t make a false run.  The order was ready a couple hours later and as a result, they gave him a nice holiday grocery bag with handles!

Since our cable is included in our monthly fee, it doesn’t matter that I have so many unused channels other than there might be others I’d be interested in if I knew about them.  Actually, I can go to 1000 and work my way down the list but many show as Not Authorized or Pay.  We are to get High Density included in our lineup with no increase in price.  Because the condo pays the bill for everyone, we pay less than if we were billed individually.  Comcast does get less money that way, but they don’t have to send individual bills to us, which should save on postage and clerical help.

It might be snowing at Grand Haven because when I looked at the site, I could not see a thing except for the snow on the beach.

Mary Ann

Marilyne

Patricia - I'm glad I watched Guy Fieri last night, and had a chance to "visit" a few towns near you.  I likely wouldn't have watched it, so I thank Mary Ann for mentioning it yesterday.   The woman who was doing the baking at The Cookie Jar, must not have been Jennifer Jolis, because she was definitely not in her 70's!  She may have been introduced as a daughter or granddaughter, and I didn't hear that part?  She looked to be in her 20's or 30's, and was a blond, with a pony tail.  The town of Fox, sounds like an interesting place.  I think the owner of the brewery/restaurant looked to be in his late 50's or 60's?  If it plays again, I'll make a point of watching it, and will take names this time! 8)

Larry - That's so sad, that Jennifer's mother deserted the family, when Jennifer was just a baby.  I'm sure she has struggled a lot to have a normal life since then.  I'm glad she's now with her father, and has you and Pat nearby.  I wish her the best in the years ahead.

Mary Ann - Interesting that we had Guy Fieri's Christmas program, on different nights?  Maybe that channel repeats the same shows over the holiday season?  I think HGTV does  that too?  A couple of years ago he came to San Jose, and did his show from some of the well know/older restaurants in town.  Now I can't remember which ones, or if they are still there??

FlaJean - What a great idea, to leave the Mr. Coffee carafe there, and fill from a measuring cup!  From now on, I plan to do the same thing.  I agree that getting older is filled with all sorts of problems!

Hal - Thanks for posting the Christmas video.  Very cute!

This morning I arrived at Whole Foods, at 8:10 am!!  The store was already busy, but not as bad as it will be as the day progresses.  I needed to get some things to go with the ready to eat turkey, that I got from the Honey Baked Ham store.  Of course I bought a lot more than I planned, but lots of things that will look and taste good for tonight and tomorrow.  Three traditional California Christmas things, are tamales, guacamole and Satsuma mandarin oranges.  We got the tamales at Costco this year, and AJ and I sampled a couple last night.  I was a little disappointed, but he thought they were okay.  I prefer to order them from one of the many Mexican restaurants around here, which is what we usually do.

I hope you all have a nice Christmas Eve, and a perfect Christmas Day tomorrow! :christmastree:

MarsGal

Ho! Ho! Ho! Everyone, Merry Christmas to all.

Hal, I enjoyed the video. Like Marilyne said, it is so cute.

angelface555

Good morning from a still dark, but warmer Interior! Absolutely nothing planned for today other than to see what comes along. Sunrise will be at eleven AM and the sunset at two PM, it will be a couple of more days until the minute daylight gains become noticeable. In the past, the Winter Solstice not only brought the light but it also heralded warmer temperatures with the lessening of darkness. In the Arctic, less cold is always a good thing. In today's climate, we are lucky to get snow and haven't seen really cold temperatures in years.

Marilyne, I imagine that the blonde was either an employee or less probable, a relative. Jennifer is slight and dark haired. As far as I know, she could have retired and sold the restaurant slash catering business and the intellectual properties such as the use of her recipes. I know it is a small, cozy, perhaps 25 to 35 tables, in three areas; a restaurant where you can eat good food in a quiet serene atmosphere with friends, family or colleagues.  There is no piped in music, sports bar or loud talking which is one of the reasons it's very popular.

I received a postcard from Alan and Dora with a Rhine castle on the front. They are having a wonderful time although Alan says he has carried so many bags that his arms have actually lengthened a few inches!  ;D  He says they have already shipped boxes home twice! Dora is living her dream and Alan is probably enjoying just seeing that. They will be home in early January.

There has been a controversy here regarding the up to now free lunch. They tried setting a small piggy bank out asking for two dollars per meal or a donation per meal to offset costs. Then the town required a license which required some training which required inspections and precise bookkeeping. Now they want five dollars per meal paid by purchasing tickets, either one or five or seven. You can get a discount if you purchase a monthly ticket.

This would be fine until you take in their clientele of seniors, many of those on SS and small pensions which are probably the majority of those having the lunches. As you can imagine, this has caused quite an uproar and probably the demise of the lunch program.

Tonight I plan on trying to make some mulled wine to enjoy my Christmas tomorrow with friends.  Other than that I expect the holiday to be blissfully quiet and serene. I hope that your Christmas will be as wonderful for you.    :christmastree:

Mary Ann

Marilyn and Patricia, I just remember seeing a picture of probably a younger woman with a title that I think would have been either owner or chef.  I don't pay that amount of attention to the names since I would not being going there anyway.  Later I saw a man, identified as owner (and I think the woman was owner, not chef, although she did some cooking or "putting together" of foods.  The only thing I remembered was the name of the restaurant was "The Cookie Jar".  If Jennifer is older, the woman I saw was not Jennifer.  I really had the program on for lack of anything else to watch, but I do enjoy watching the program for some of the antics with him and the chefs.

Tom has left for his lady friend's and said it would be late when he got home.  I cautioned him about staying too late because he feels lousy.  I think I can count on him to come home earlier if he doesn't feel good.  The bad part is that his lady friend is sick too, but he said her problem is not the same as his.  She has laryngitis and insists on talking too much.

When I turned on the computer, I found our temperature is 20 degrees.  And it will be cold the rest of the week, down into teens and single digits all week.  I guess we have to expect it because it is December, heading to January.  I've always said if I could get through November and December, I could take what January and February have to offer.  The proof will be in the pudding because I got through November and December is on its way out.

If I don't get back - a Merry Christmas to you all.

Mary Ann

Lindancer

Good late afternoon, already dark out and its -4:30 Christmas day the forecast is sleet and rain, very little possibly of snow. Nor easter with 50 mile and hour gust of wind.

Patricia, when the fire works goes off at the race track in the summer, Taffy is under the bed, also same place if there is a thunder storm. She does not like to hear the garbage truck early in the AM

FlaJean, I have also perked just water. Now I have to tell you about a senior moment at Red Hats, this week when getting out of the car I looked at my shoes and I had two different  shoes on :-[ I was rushing around getting dressed as I know cathy always arrives early to pick me up.  The shoes were the same moccasin type, but one was all black, and the other real dark green on top. I only told Cathy, and I hope no one else noticed.

MaryAnn, I had a turkey melt at Friendly's the other day, and it was good

Click for Riverhead, NY Forecast

Mary Ann

Gloria, I've never had a turkey melt, but I would think it is the same principle as the tuna melt.  I like turkey sandwiches and often get them.  We haven't gotten over 20 degrees all day and things are heading lower.

Tom and I were at the Cholesterol Pit about 11:30 to noon and I've only had a cookie since.  I'll have to see what I can scrounge up for supper.  The tuna melt was filling so I don't need to have anything substantial.  With his cold, Tom is likely to lose some weight but we both know when he's back to feeling good, he'll put the weight back on. He really is trying to maintain his weight and maybe being at his lady friend's he won't eat too heavily because she is known for fixing organic foods and low cal things.  Some taste good, some do not.  We were talking about excesses during the holidays - easy on but, oh, so hard off.

Kendrick and I are holding down the fort.  He comes in every once in a while to check on me.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT

Mary Ann

Patricia and Joan, thank you for your Christmas wishes.  May I add my wishes to everyone, too, and I hope the weather is good for everyone.  I keep reading about bad weather in some areas.

Our church has a 10 pm Christmas Eve service so those who celebrate Christmas Eve at midnight can be with their families.  I don't go.  Years ago, after our family gathering on Christmas Eve, Dot and I went to the service which was then at 11 pm, but it got to be a hassle with some family not leaving until after we had left, so we gave it up.

MERRY CHRISTMAS to all!

Mary Ann

I know I have become unregular (irregular?) But I would like to take this time to wish everybody here a very MERRY CHRISTMAS.

And ET may I wish you a wonderful Hanukah for you and family.

May your season be full of wonder! Wishing you a warm and wonderful Hanukkah filled with love and laughs! Wishing for the festival of lights to shine down upon you and your loved ones. May your life shine with the light of the Menorah candles.

(I cant really take credit for the words above, but it says what I wanted to say to you. I lifted it from the internet)

Mary Ann

Merry Christmas to all.  Hal, thank you for those words for Bubble; I could not say them better and I'll only echo what you said.

Bubble, that is a beautiful "Merry Christmas" you posted.

Shirley, thank you also for the wishes.

Now, I'll put a sour note on the day, however, not too sour!  Jan, Terry's wife, was in an auto accident yesterday and she and her mother are in the hospital.  Her dad is OK.  Her parents are 85 and 86 and in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's and it is fortunate things are not worse.  Jan was driving and could not stop at an intersection because of the snow.  She t-boned a car at the intersection and totaled her car (one that was owned by Norm).  Tom told me last night that she had rib and pelvic injuries.  Her mother has a black eye and some cuts on her face.

No one's injuries are life threatening, and it's bad at any time of the year, but it does put a damper on the season.  Daughter Erin is here from Indianapolis, Son Geoff from CA will fly in today, Sister Liane is either here or will be soon.

We are thankful injuries are not worse than they are.

Mary Ann

Hi Everyone. Merry Christmas to each of you.

We have a beautiful bright and sunny Christmas morning.  It is 38 degrees when I got up and is only to get to the low 50's this afternoon.  Scott ended up having to work yesterday so they didn't get here until about 6:30 last evening and he was exhausted.  Pat had put together a simple chicken enchilada soup in the crock pot for our dinner.  After dinner he told a nap and the ladies played Farkle while the peanut clusters were being prepared in the crock pot.  Jennifer spent the night so she is here to start the Christmas dinner preparations to help her grandmother.  Later this afternoon we will have our Christmas dinner and after the dishes are finished and the food put away we will have our traditional gift exchange.  There are no big presents under the tree this year as Christmas came early for all of us but of course there are some small packages.  So we should have a very nice Christmas.

Jean, it sounds like we all do some silly things sometimes.  I usually just chuckle at myself and try not to beat myself over the head.

Mary Ann, sorry that neither Tom or Dot were feeling up to going to Church with you this morning but at least you got to go.  I expect the grocery stores were slammed yesterday.  At least they let him know his order would be delayed.  I went one time only to find out the order wasn't ready.  We usually get a notification at the beginning of the hour it is to be picked up so we know it is ready.  So sorry to read of the accident that Jan and her mother had.  Glad they weren't seriously injured.

Marilyne, Jennifer's mother didn't desert Jennifer as she and the grandmother raised her.  She died of cancer when Jennifer was 16 and then Jennifer came to live with her father and step mother for a year and then she went back to live with her grandmother.  We would get to see Jennifer usually twice a year when we went back to Missouri to visit family.  I have never heard of those California Christmas traditions for food.  I hope you all enjoy the turkey as know it will be good as well as all the other goodies.

Hi MarsGla and Merry Christmas to you.

Patricia, it is nice to eat in a quiet restaurant.  It seems so many of them around here play the music too loud and have the open metal ceiling that magnify the noise.  Sometimes sit is hard to hear and I have very good hearing.  Nice that Dora and Alan are having such a good time on their extended trip.  They should have a lot to talk about when they return.  Was this a lunch program at a Senior Center?  I hope you enjoy your day with friends and the mulled wine is good.  What a beautiful graphic you posted. I love the bright colors and the message.

Joan, hope you all have a nice Christmas today.

ShirleyN, we are happy to see you post anytime.  Merry Christmas to you.

deAngel, not a very good forecast for Christmas especially with that wind to accompany it.  I bet if anyone noticed your different shoes they just had a nice chuckle and wouldn't something like that go with the carefree nature of the Red Hats? It always sounded like you all just enjoyed yourself at your affairs.

Bubble, thanks for the Christmas greeting and I just looked up to see when Chanukah was and see I missed by several days in wishing  you a Happy Chanukah but perhaps better late than never.

Hal, hope you and your family have a great Christmas celebration today.

so_P_bubble

Thank you for participating to our joyous Hanuka, thanks  Hal for those lovely words.

Mary Ann - I am so sorry about that accident to your kin.  It is the third I hear this week, luckily none fatal.

Marilyne

Good morning and Merry Christmas!

It's about 8:45 here, and I've been up for a couple of hours. AJ is reading the paper, and Shelley and Claire are still asleep. Yesterday afternoon, our son and family came over, and also our youngest daughter.  We had a traditional Christmas Eve dinner of tamales, Spanish rice casserole, and a huge green salad, plus lots of "goodies" like pies, fruit cake, cookies and See's Candy.  Younger granddaughter Jessie, works pt at a candy shop over Christmas, so she brought a big tray of chocolate covered strawberries.

Today will be turkey, with all the trimmings, plus left over desserts from yesterday.  The weather is cold and sunny and dry, with no rain in the forecast for the remainder of the year!  When everyone leaves tomorrow, I'm going to have to turn on the sprinklers, and water the lawn, and everything else.

Larry - Sorry I misunderstood you about Jennifer.  You didn't say, so I thought Jennifer was left behind when her mother went to Missouri.  I'm glad that she was not deserted!  Sounds like your Christmas has been a good one, and will continue to be! Nice that Pat has help with preparations for dinner.  I also have a lot of help from my two girls.  I wouldn't be able to do everything by myself.

Mary Ann - What an unfortunate thing to happen to Jan, on Christmas Eve!  I'm so sorry that she's in the hospital, but good that her injuries and her mother's, are not as bad as they could have been.  I hope that she heals quickly, and will be able to go home today?  Keep us posted on how she is doing?

Thanks for the greetings from Hal, Shirley, Joan, Bubble, Gloria de, and Patricia! Merry Christmas to all of you, and to everyone else who looks in!

wjoan

We have a white Christmas here.  Tis about 6 inches deep out there this morning.  Will try and post a pic on FB.
Son made two  apple pies for us and they are on FB also.  Merry HO HO all.
