Good afternoon, raining and cold.  There was suppose to be a lot of parades. A big ceremony at Calverton Nat, cemetery, which is about mile from me. It is something to see, with a flag on every grave. I will try and go next week

Gloria, I still say Decoration Day. I wonder when they will change 4th of July for a shopping day?  Thanks for the poem. Do you still miss our lemon donuts, from Joan?

Jane, I am too late for and Italian Hoagie?

Seems like when I was a kid, all summer I was in a parade. Patchogue was a small town, so I guess parades were a form of entertainment and it was durning the Depression.Decoration day we went to 3 cemeteries, and the men from the legion rifle squad would pick a few veteran graves, and shoot salute. ( of course this would be WW1 and civil war) this was 90
years ago)  beside 4th of July we had a Pet parade and of course the Firemans parades, which all the small towns out here still have  on Friday nights. Once a year the circus came to town and the would parade through. Guess I wrote enough of my memories of parades

I am back from Church, filled with the joy of sharing the worship with others. I just love living here at Rowntree gardens. On my way home  met one of our workers in the hallway. She seldom smiles. So I said,"I need a hug" and reached out to her. She just melted in my arms, and thanked me so much,  so we hugged again. Encounters like this are like a gift from God. I will treasure the nudge God gives me to reach out.

Now it is time to go down for a special Holyday lunch. Talk to you later. June

I was confused about the Holiday menu, so ate plain. The reason I am confused follows:

Memorial Day or Decoration Day is a federal holiday in the United States for remembering the people who died while serving in the country's armed forces. The holiday, which is currently observed every year on the last Monday of May, will be held on May 28, 2018. The holiday was held on May 30 from 1868 to 1970. It marks the unofficial start of the summer vacation season, while Labor Day marks its end.

There is a saying, "you are never too old to learn." I am proof of that statement.

I had such a nice phone visit with my son Dan. He had a torn achilles tendon worked on, so he is on crutches for quite a while. His wife hates driving the car, so they bought one without a clutch,so Dan can drive. He is building a new Banjo, so he can keep himself occupied. Nancy has now a husband and four dogs and a lawn to mow now, besides the usual chores of home ownership. So Dan has even more reason to love her.

I wil have to notify Gary, as I know Dan won't.. and Gary and Dori will put Dan in their prayers. So off I go......

good Night everyone. I had a hard time getting this sight to let me post tonight.
sweet dreams and hope to see you all tomorrow.

Amy

Good morning everyone..

Happy Memorial day to you.

Foggy here this morning. The thunder storms and rain didn't happen here, we did get a little rain but not enough to help the garden.

Today we are going into town for an oil change on my vehicle. Then home to corral those pesky dust bunnies. May have a quilt delivery if all works out too.

We will get another load of wood delivered today too..

Enjoy your day everyone.

Good morning Everyfriend!  I just deleted my post right after I wrote it.  I'll try to reconstruct but who knows what this old mind will remember.

I'm running late this morning because I ran late last night.  I was trying to do something financial and the site kept taking me to the learning part of the site.  I still don't know what I was doing but I did finish what I wanted to do.  I was getting so frustrated that I knew I wouldn't sleep if I didn't persevere.

AMY,  I hope those bunnies don't resist the corral.  They should know better by now.

You should all go see Mary Ann's twins in photos.  They are growing up fast...and cute!

The coffee's ready and the doggies have been fed and are out for the second time this morning.  I hope that's it for a while.

I don't have a lot planned for today but I'll see part of my family later.  Everyone take the day and make it yours in every way.

Hi Everyone on this Memorial Day.  I think we have had rain all nigh and this morning it is still raining.  Our county, along with several others nearby in Georgia and South Carolina have been under a flood watch but it is being lifted shortly although more rain is forecast for different times throughout the day.  I have nothing particular planned for today but will probably finish an ebook I have been reading and just take things easy.  We did have a nice little birthday party for Elizabeth yesterday afternoon and then she, Jennifer and Pat played Farkle for a couple of hours.  I think Elizabeth was surprised and pleased with the fresh strawberries, cake, ice cream and toppings.  She enjoyed a second helping.

I thought Pat might sleep in this morning but just now got up as her back wouldn't allow her to lay comfortably in bed.  We got the ice to her back and I fixed her breakfast.  In a little bit I will fix some coleslaw and she is going to put some ribs in the Instant Pat to cook and then put BBQ sauce on them and pop them in the oven at dinnertime.  We will also have a couple of ears of the sweet corn I picked up at the produce stand.  That will make a good dinner tonight that won't be too much work for her.

Gloria, I have given up on the prescription and will wait until I see the doctor in a few weeks. I have plenty of nitro pills on hand so will use them when needed.  I am surprised you still have outside clothes lines available to the residents of where you live.  I never see them around here.  So sorry to read that your son will have had a good crop of apples this year. I sure miss not seeing the lilacs and peonies bloom each year.  I guess it is just too warm for them to do well here.  That was a nice Memorial Day reading you shared yesterday.

Joy, like you I don't like to leave things unwashed in the sink.  I really dislike having plastic containers washed in the dishwasher as they never dry well and usually water accumulates in the little ridges that is easy to spill on the floor.  So I have started trying to just wash them up as they are emptied.  It isn't hard and it makes unloading the dishwasher much easier.

Jane, I have never been any good at memorizing poem.  However, when I was active in the Masonic Lodge I did learn a couple of the lectures that were given with the degrees.

deAngel, last night on the NBC news they showed a Veteran's cemetery where there were I believe around 150,000 grave sites and this year for the first time every grave had a small American flag in front of it.  It was quite a site.  I looked up the article and here is what I found:  About 5,000 Boy Scouts solemnly marched through Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on Sunday and filled a large grassy circle around a towering flagpole near the center of the 331 acres of graves. Temperatures soared into the 90s as they stood quietly under the glaring sun listening to the bagpipes, flag ceremonies and speeches. They waited patiently before their instructions to disperse and place flags at more than 150,000 graves. I know the same thing is done at many other National Cemeteries and the young people and others probably will never forget doing it and will have a better sense of what protecting our country really involves.  I enjoyed your sharing about your memories of the parades you participated or that occurred in the towns near where you lived.  There seem to be a lot of parades in Augusta and North Augusta.

June, I bet you made that workers day with those special hugs.  We can never know what burdens people bear that are weighing them down and a hug says someone care for them.  I hope Dan does well in healing from the tendon repair.  It sounds like Nancy will be keeping busy.

Mycheal, I remember JFK giving that address where he used those words.

Lloyd, glad you were finally able to post yesterday and that your computer cooperates with you today.

Amy, it sounds like you have a pretty full day ahead and will have more wood to stack.

Waiting for my son to show up to get his little camper ready to roll, poor kid, everyone wants all of his time and never time for his own pleasures.  He is going out to CO ahead of my younger son & I..... only way he can get a little peace.  He said "early" & I thought that meant EARLY.... the pool teams wanted gates unlocked at 6:00 am so I was up before 5:00 to feed cats & myself before.... I had 3 hours & 25 min sleep last night, half an hour MORE than most of last week.  I am ready for a nap.

When putting out my flag this morning the through crossed my mind, didn't we used to also call this "Flag Day"?  Because of my brothers being in WWII, we really were patriotic & I still get tears when I hear the military bands play.

One of the nicest sights I ever hope to see was when I got to the street my parents lived on and saw every single house with a flag flying at the curb... the medium size on a stick....  The Boy Scouts had done it and they went up about a thousand points in my opinion that day!  My parents were so grateful, me, too, and since most of the neighbors were "older", no doubt every one of them melted at the sight.
  God Bless America!

Jane, thank you for mentioning the girls' picture.  It is the latest one I have, taken Easter Sunday, and they were 14 months old at the time.  They walk a lot, maybe teetering is a better word, but they do get around.

Shirley, Flag Day is June 14.  I guess any day we put out flags is Flag Day, but that's the official one.  I don't have a flag any more.  When I lived at home, we had a 48-star flag that we hung from the porch and I even hung it here at my condo, but I gave it to my oldest great-nephew at one time (Geoff - Terry's son).  As far as I know, the flag is still in Michigan until he finally gets settled in California.  When I give something like that, I always mention the background and I told Geoff the flag belonged to his great-grandfather (my dad).

Tom and I went out for breakfast this morning and both of us had eggs, hashbrowns and toast.  Later Tom will be at a friend's for a cookout in 95-degree weather and he's not looking forward to that!  It is only late afternoon where the shade takes over in her back yard, but even so, it will be warm.

I hope everyone enjoys whatever you have planned for the day.

Gloria

Good morning every one, looks better this morning, overcast but not as gloomy looking as yesterday. We did get quite a bit of rain in the afternoon and I just stayed inside.

JOY  hope your picnic was not rained out yesterday. Just heard on local news that Maryland had a lot of rain and flooding yesterday.

JANE  glad Hats Off brought memories for you.

Gloria de  yes I do miss my lemon DD's Not many of that chain make the lemon ones any more.

JUNE  today we are having a cookout for the veterans living here, have 10 of them. This not from the company either.

AMY  busy day as always for you.

JANE  I couldn't get to sleep ladt night so got up and online and made a grocery order and because it was close to the tome to pay for more minutes on cell phone I did that. Got to bed after 2am.

LARRY  I know how your Pat feels My back has has been worse than ever  the past week. Only time it feels ok is when I lay down and I would get nothing done if that's all I did. At the veterans cemetery here they had buglers around it playing Taps in the rain. One was a vet from WW2 playing his bugle. Beau I don't  know how many were there bur they were s tanding an intervals around the 4 mile circle and each started  a little after the other.

SHIRLEY  Flag day is June 14th. On that day last year we had a birthday party here for a lady who  turned 100 on that  day.

    Memorial Day

By Michelle Kiem

As we stand here looking
At the flags upon these graves
Know these flags represent
A few of the true American brave

They fought for their Country
As man has through all of time
Except that these soldiers lying here
Fought for your country and mine

As we all are gathered here
To pay them our respect
Let's pass this word to others
It's what they would expect

I'm sure that they would do it
If it were me or you
To show we did not die in vein
But for the red, white and blue.

Let's pass on to our children
And to those who never knew
What these soldiers died for
It's the least we can do

Let's not forget their families
Great pain they had to bear
Losing a son, father or husband
They need to know we still care

No matter which war was fought
On the day that they died
I stand here looking at these flags
Filled with American pride.

So as the bugler plays out Taps
With its sweet and eerie sound
Pray for these soldiers lying here
In this sacred, hallowed ground.

Take home with you a sense of pride
You were here Memorial Day.
Celebrating the way Americans should
On this solemnest of days.

Good afternoon, started in cloudy and about 1PM the sun tried to come out

Gloria, use to have picnic management paid for it, every body wanted to come, and eat, but few volunteered to help. So now we only have the 4th picnic management buys the hamburger, hot dogs, corn and soda and beer. We are lucky like June where I live.  We are considered a 5 Star park in NYstate.  The owner/management is here every day and you can just walk in and talk to him  We have some strict
rules, but most of them are for our benefit.

Mycheal thanks for post

Larry, I forgot to mention the NRA parade (Nat. Recovery Administration) I was on a float . in costume for that one. Guess you were to young to hear about that one It was FDR'd idea to simulate business during the depression

Mary Ann and Shirley  every one on my circle has there flag out, most all night also as we  keep the porch lights on.  The man across from me work in Calverton Nat. cemetery and had 3 different size flag poles with flags on them.  When this park open 50 years ago each trailer came with a flag pole.

Gloria, I remember we had to learn the poem  IN Flanders Field

Larry, the Boy Scouts  and Legion help put the flags out.  For the first time I see in the papers they are asking anyone who would like to pick them up and fold for storing at the cemetery'.  Also when I was a kid I use to go with my grandmother to decorate my grandfathers grave. Something else I remembered She had some kind of a gadget that would hold 3 flags on the radiator cap. Boy! am I reaching back. Wait till  you get 94 and see what you remember :)

Gloria de - my father was the printing teacher at the high school I attended.  All boys took printing when they were in the seventh grade and probably their first project was setting up and printing "In Flanders Field".  It may not have been in the seventh grade but the ninth grade because I took the class in ninth grade and I remember setting type for it.  Another memory of the printing class was when someone dropped the type case.  Often Dad would ask me to sort pi after school, then I'd get a ride home.  Otherwise, I walked home - 1 1/4 miles, not bad in those days (impossible these days).

One memory brings on another, doesn't it?

An Obituary printed in a mid-western newspaper...or, given the state of the media in our country, more likely just online. Nevertheless, absolutely brilliant!!

           ****************************
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years.
No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.
He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
- Knowing when to come in out of the rain;
- Why the early bird gets the worm;
- Life isn't always fair;
- And maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable
strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place.

Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school
for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in
disciplining their unruly children.

It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a
student, but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses, and criminals received better treatment than their victims.
Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.
Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot.
She spilled a little in her lap and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death,
-by his parents, Truth, and Trust,
-by his wife, Discretion,
-by his daughter, Responsibility,
-and by his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 5 stepbrothers;
- I Know My Rights
- I Want It Now
- Someone Else Is To Blame
- I'm A Victim
- Pay me for Doing Nothing-

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

Another day has running shoes on it and away it went!!

I did deliver the quilt to a lady and oh my her yard was full of forget-me- nots. I commented on how beautiful they were and she said her husband would dig me up a few pieces...I now have them planted on Buddies and Sassy's graves, our dogs the have gone on. Managed to get 3 lovely zucchini plants and they too are in the ground...now to wait for the zzz's!!

Our load of wood came and I managed to get a little bit piled but tis 91° out there and I am sure it will be cooler in the morning to do some of that.

We had high winds last night and it took down a lot of the crab apple blossoms.

Jenny, I have ran into so many people that have lost common sense !Makes one wonder just how they get along in life.

Amy, I have a few for-get-me-nots along with some purple violets by my patio on the lower level of my condo and they are so pretty, especially together.  A neighbor had a patch that was probably a foot wide and several feet long - it made a striking display - while it lasted!

We've had 90+ degrees here today too.  We set a record yesterday at 93 degrees but I haven't heard anything about today.

Mary Ann

Amy

Good morning everyone.

I am up but not at'tem just having my morning tea. Yesterdays temps 90+ is going to grace us again today. Wood to be piled today after VON leaves.

Mary Ann, I too have the pretty purple violets around the perimeter of the vegetable garden. Each year they multiply more! I don't have the heart to pull them.

Gloria ,sad to read of your sons trees, all the hard work pruning and looking after them for nothing in return.

I had better get out and see if the wood pilled itself during the night if not then I had better give it a lift :)

Joy, how was your weekend?

Enjoy your day everyone.

Good morning everyone. Yesterday heat would have felt good to get the dampness out and today is to be in the 80's. Did go out for a short walk yesterday and had a winter jacket on.

GLORIA de  your brain is still working great to remember all you do.

JENNY  love Common Sense. I have saved that quite awhile ago. Sad how life has changed since we were young.

AMY  my daughter plants zucchini every year and makes relish with it. She sent me a jar of it and it was so much better tasting than anything bought.

Glad my CNA will be here later. I need the back massage she does. This one seems to always fing the spots that are bothering me the most.

Have a good day.

Hi Everyone.  We have another overcast morning but no rain in the forecast until this afternoon.  My gauge says we have had 2 inches in the last two days and more on the way.  Flooding is now the problem in some counties around the Augusta area.  Our big activity for today is to get Pat to the dentist for the semi-annual cleaning at 10 am.  Then if her new shoes are ready we will stop and pick them up.  Then we may go out for lunch.  I do need to empty the ice bin in the freezer and also grind up some more cheddar cheese.  That will be it for today.

Shirley, that was not very much sleep you had Sunday night and hope you were able to enjoy a nap or two yesterday.  I do hope your son can find some time for himself.

Gloria, hard to understand why the donut shoppes have stopped fixing lemon filled donuts as they are about the best.  I suppose they just weren't selling and thus not profitable for them to make.  Nice your facility had a cookout in honor of the veterans you have living in your building.  We had on our local news a story showing a man playing the Bugle at a Veteran's affair with covering provided by a man standing behind him with an umbrella.  Our county seat has an annual Veteran's Day parade but it apparently was called off in anticipation of the rain that didn't materialize until late afternoon. That must have been quite a site with the veterans standing around the 4 mile circle.  That is a fine Memorial Day poem.

deAngel, it is good to have your management on hand in your park.  Do you have many of the homes moved out and replaced or are they permanently in place and have to be sold when someone moves or passes away?  You must have a very fine park to be rated 5-star.  While rules can be frustrating they usually are for the benefit of the owners and help keep a neighborhood looking nice and desirable.  Our small housing development has a professional company deal with the homeowner's situations and management, which I think is a good things.  I have heard of the National Recovery Administration but you are right I was too young to pay attention at the time.  Our memories serve us well, especially the good ones but even some of the not so good ones reminds of that we have had and are having a full life.

Jenny, thanks for sharing the Common Sense piece.  It is too bad that so many people refuse to accept responsibility for their own actions.

Amy, nice of the lady to give you the plants and you sure don't waste time getting them planted.  I hope you don't get overheated with that wood piling today.  I bet you don't find that the wood had piled itself.  :)

Mary Ann, your mention of violets reminds me of how pretty the violets, including those growing sort of in the wild, were back in Missouri.

Carol

We stayed in yesterday because of pending storm - there was some small hail but all passed quickly.  Just enough to ruin any picnics and visits to the cemetery.  We will take our neighbor to the Fort cemetery when weather and appointments calm. Today is another VA appointment  and this is different because it is in the afternoon.

One DIL is driving back  from  Texas today - she had to take care of her mother's affairs - her sister living in TX does nothing.  Sounds like what I had to do with my parents affairs.

Larry:  I have compiled a list of recipes for an Instant Pot but have not decided if I want another thing in the cabinets. --Two inches of rain is a lot.  I hope it doesn't bring mosquitoes.  I only sew with cotton and now working on batik southwest colors of rectangles.  All leftover fabric - you see, I need to keep on using the stored fabric.

This week, we will visit youngest son and meet the latest rescue German Shepherd - Zuus or whatever.  Looks like a big Teddy Bear.  They have acreage and live only ten minutes from us - or what used to be ten minutes is now ghastly because of all the migration here.

Not feeling up to par yesterday so I did binge watch WWII movies - am a history buff and I even took a class in WWII history once.

Amy

Larry, wood is all piled , hubby came out and helped but it sure tuckers him out.  We just need one more truck load and that will be it for the winter.

Have the dust bunnies corralled and the floors washed.....now I can go play in my sewing room .

Gloria, I too make a zucchini relish/pickle and it goes down rather nice, even just between two slices of bread . :)

Wonder where Lloyd is?? Hope he is alright!

Carol, hope you feel better today..

My computer was down all day yesterday...something to do with the server we do business with.....not our fault. So it is a special treat to come in this morning and find most of you here posting. We are having a cloudy day, high of 74.

Yesterday was a very quiet day here, so the computer was doubly missed. There are a few activities today, but I am expecting a repair man so I will stay at home. I can get out and walk the hallway for exercise and still see the repair person arrive, and I feel the need to walk right now, so I will do so. See you later.

Good afternoon, warm and cloudy.  Did get to set out on the deck and read my morning paper

Larry, we have about 580 homes here in Glenwood village We have a nice rec.  hall in it we have a pool, game room, big exercise room, a setting room library with a fire place also a stage and big screen for movies and entertainment. As I said I am here 36 years, but the park is 50 years old.  So when someone sells a trailer, the management puts in a modern mobile home.  some of the the new  have wrap around porches,  You are not allowed to rent or if you have someone living with you
they have to be registered with office. When you sell management has to check out the person to whom you are selling
Again, that is for our protection.  We do not own the land. I am leaving mine to my two daughter in laws which have been so good to meThey are the type that will share with there children.  That will be agood inheritance. If it all works out.  Larry I bet you are sorry you asked me a question

Gloria, the place where you live sounds just lovely. Some things are very similar to what I have here. It makes me happy for you, and your plans for the DIL's, sounds like what I do. I had a trust drawn up by my lawyer.....everything I own will be divided between my two sons, and if they die early it will go to their wives,  and what their wives decide to do is none of my business. By then I pray God will have accepted me into Heaven and given me some praying to do.

We never did see any sun today, and I never did have a repair man come and check out the conditioner sound. I think I solved it myself. My neighbor has a conditioner box located directly in line with mine, I'm guessing about 12 feet away. And she told me she uses hers almost constantly due to a breathing problem. So I closed all the windows that I leave open in that area, and i hear very little sound. I have five windows in my sun room where the conditioner is so I have closed two that are closest to hers.

My oldest son will be 70 years of age tomorrow. He was the sweetest baby of the three, second one born. He thinks 70 is ancient....I just laugh, but I think my 93 years encourages him. I hope so. He had to have a cast put on his foot, shattered tendon on his left leg.

My Darling Dori is in New Hampshire at this time, visiting relatives. I hope Gary is not too lonely.....he does have the dog to take care of, plus his Church.

I am eating at home tonight...have some hard boiled eggs to use up. so that will be my supper, plus fruit, etc. Have a Blessed night my dear good friends. I love you all so much. June

I thought I left a message earlier today but don't see it.  I've spent most of the afternoon & evening watching radar because of storms in KS..... my oldest son picked up his camper from my extra garage about 3:00pm & headed out of town for the mountains of CO.  It started raining just as he pulled off & by the time he made his way to the highway he had to "float" through an intersection flooded to his hub caps.  A spot that has flooded ever since we've lived here (more than 50 years), main north/south street.  You'd think they could have fixed it with all that time, but he chose to go that way because other main streets heading west were full of those orange barrels & several places one lane traffic.

Anyway, I checked radar after our first chat & saw he was driving straight into a tornado ON THE GROUND around Dodge City, so called to warn him to watch the sky.  He said his phone would do that & warn him.  He called while ago to let me know about a detour & said all's well.  He will drive until near the mountains, sleep in a Walmart parking lot & go on into the mountains in the morning after he buys his supplies.  He buys all his food at Walmart so may do that if the one he stays at is an all night one, I think it is.

Anyway, we always spend our first night in a Walmart parking lot in Salida & buy groceries before we head into the mountains in the morning.  We have reservations next to each other & have used both sites before, so comfortable with how we need to set up. It has been in the 90s here so the cool evenings in CO will be pure heaven! Youngest son & I leave over the week end & Andy's son plans to drive out on Thursday & stay until Tuesday.  I'm very happy they don't mind old Mom being around, but I do push them to go on their hikes & do other activities (disk golf, etc) that I don't want to even watch.... wears me out!

Still thundering so guess the cats will all sleep inside tonight.  Callie is in the garage, not sure what happened with her bed that usually sits up high (on the camper)... Poor baby, wish she was travel experienced but she isn't, I hate going off & she sits by the garage door watching.  Two neighbors said they will put food out if they see her, only one will she go near.  Enough of my rambling.

June, tell Dan to get out his camera and enjoy capturing the sights around him, he is such an amazing photographer.  My sympathy & prayers for him.  The photos people sent in to TV of the sky tonight are awesome... also photos of golf ball & baseball size hail.

Sweet dreams to all and God Bless...... and thanks to all that explained "Flag Day" is NOT Decoration Day!   :crazy2:   I really was not thinking that day..... on the other hand, "they" have changed names & days of our original holidays so never sure what's on tap.

Every time I scroll back to where I read before & go past my post with the peace doves flying backwards, I wish I could remove it.  I did not notice that when I posted.

Amy,   I did write a message here earlier, but when I checked back, it was gone.   Not sure how that happens.

My week end was nice, but very tiring. The rain did not pose a big problem.  My son took a couple canopys and since the rain wasn't  a blowing rain, we were still able to sit outside to eat the steamed crabs.  They were very good, and everybody got their fill.  We had gotten 8 dozen and they were all eaten.

It was nice seeing my grand daughter and her family, but it was a lot of little ones.  Once we went back inside, it was very noisy and a lot of commotion with all the little ones. They were all good and got along real well.

I was very tired  on Monday and rested most of the day.  But, still went out to dinner to celebrate my son's birthday. The restaurant wasn't very crowded so we were able to have a nice leisurely dinner and wasn't rushed.  I felt  more relaxed  better when I came back home.  Still feeling tired today, but  better.

I guess I just have to try to realize that I can't do all the things that I want to do anymore.  Hard to have to slow down.

I did go down  to play cards tonight.  I do enjoy that.  Now, I am getting ready to go to bed.. But, I want to check my e-mail.

Hope everyone will have a nice restful night.
