Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

Actually, I googled it just now and both spellings are correct....and both spellings are incorrect.  His parents changed the spelling to Aron when he was born and he tried to change it later and, after going through life with the spelling "Aron" he discovered that it had never been changed from the traditional spelling of "Aaron".

What about #15,  You didn't comment on my answer for that.

Patricia - I received an email from Kelly, who wanted to answer two of the questions.  The first one is

#1:  James Taylor wrote "Fire and Rain".

#11: was already guessed by Joy - (Amsterdam.)

angelface555

I was just thinking about Kelly as he was a major part of these quizzes. Tell him hello from me and that he's credited for #1 and still has a second question available in his turn.

2: Who is the father of modern oceanography?

3: Which planet in the Solar System has the highest density?

4: What is the song, "What's the frequency Kenneth?" about?

5: What is the deepest point from the sea level on the Earth?

17: How many Oscars did the Titanic receive?

so_P_bubble

7. Five times 9?  I mean 99999

angelface555

Bubble you are correct, and that leaves only two remaining. Anyone?

#4: What is the song, "What's the frequency, Kenneth?" about? Extra points if you know the aftermath.

#17: How many Oscars did the Titanic receive?

Marilyne

#4:  Patricia, all I remember about the "Frequency Kenneth" song, is that it was on an album by REM, about a true story involving news broadcaster Dan Rather getting attacked by a stranger??

angelface555

You are correct in part, Marilyne, for #4. But there is more to an odd, strange story of a mentally ill man who went on to kill a camera operator outside of another film studio. He heard voices in his head from he believed television.  And desperately thought that he could make them stop if he found the frequency. Today he remains locked up and hopefully receiving the help he needs and sought.

I'm surprised that number 17 is the last remaining question.

#17: How many Oscars did the Titanic receive?

Marilyne

#17: Titanic, won 10 Academy Awards

JaneS

17  I think Titanic won 11 Oscars

And

#4I think that song is about drug use

angelface555

Thanks Marilyne! I had just gotten an email from Kelly with the answer so I'll credit both of you!

Thank you, everyone, for a great quiz experience! I have an appointment, but I'll be back to list the finalization of the quiz.

I hope that others will submit their quizzes for all of us to enjoy as well.

angelface555

Jane, I haven't time to Google now on the Titanic Oscar wins again.

Also, the info on #4 is as stated, the man in question was a paranoid schizophrenic and imprisoned after killing the camera operator.
