Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

Shirley, no problem if you send them to me for posting, I'll be glad to do it.

Shirley

Thank you for the offer, Bubble.... I was going to pick out a couple "thru the window" shots & send you but my daughter called & came by, she just got in town today to baby sit her grands while the parents take a 2nd honeymoon (10th Anniversary) to Hawaii... be here all next week so I will make my reunion in MO & be right back to visit with her while the kids are in school & youngest in day care... sort of early school now days.  Was wondering how Don is doing, do you hear from him often?  Tell him we miss his cheery messages.

Yahoo mail is working right again, guess these updates had more glitches than Microsoft realized & having to do a lot of fixes.

Shirley has the same camera, a fixed lens that means you do not have to carry several lens.   I took several photos this evening, the first a long shot at the Oglebay Lodge and you can see the moon in the sky.  I then zoomed in on the moon from the same location and that is the second photo.

Great shot, Jack... & I was in such a hurry I forgot to see if you mentioned whether that was hand held on the zoom.  I was watching out my kitchen window while ago, it faces the front so saw the eagle light down on the very tall cypress tree across the street.  It landed on the back side of the tree so not positive it was the eagle or osprey.  I thought the osprey had already gone on south, but the eagles stay here for the winter.  They are SO sneaky & try to keep out of view if they see humans anywhere below.  We have 2 neighbors that have 6 chickens... both 5 now... as pets & enjoy the fresh eggs.  No question they are much more expensive eggs than what they can buy at the store.   ;), ... and I'm sure the eagles can see a meal down there on the ground,  >:(   .... may see them more often this winter.  If so, I'll have a camera sitting on the table & hope to get a shot to share.  Thanks for the comparison.... I still think these are the best cameras for people like us... that just enjoy what we see.

Shirley that was just hand held.  I never carry the tripod, need one hand for Mimi.

Thanks for all the wonderful photos.

I'm glad to see Sato is posting his lovely flowers again.

Shirley - You have one photo on the river that looks like a piece of art! (edit:) Just went back to look and it's the one named Chalk Creek.

Jack - Mimi looks prettier than ever and has learned to pose so well! I can just see her saying "There's Dad with the camera again".  :) Good friends of ours lost their beautiful golden to Cushings disease at the age of 7.  Recently they decided to get another one, but this one is smaller and has shorter hair. She's a lovely dog.

Gloria - That photo of you with your husband is a treasure! You both look so happy.

Jackie like that tune, listened then also caught Sinatra singing it.   Thanks.

FlaJean

You did really good with that zoom, Jack.  I don’t do as well with the 200 on my zoom shots.  My hands don’t shake but my arms get tired.   :(  I’ve been using my phone and smaller camera more lately.  My small camera has a pretty good zoom.

Sato, another lovely flower.  Love roses and especially yellow roses.

jackwv

Jean I have had some luck with the 200.  I watch the monitor to see the zoom and then click.  Will sometimes do several times since some are poor.

Lindancer

Sato, another beautiful Rose

Beverly, thanks for you nice comment. My memory has gotten bad, we would have been married 73 years on Columbus Day

Jack, I always enjoy your photos

Pretty rose, Sato, I haven't seen any late blooming roses around here.  In fact, my yard has turned brown this week, it is mostly Bermuda grass.  I do have some mums starting to bloom.

Jane, no idea what the problem is but will take Emma from any angle.

Mary Ann

Jane, a little doll!  It was easy to rotate the picture until Emma was right side up.  She is cute at any angle.  Seeing I don't know how to post, I can't help you.

Jane, I also don't know what you did, but I flipped it for you. She's not "scary" at all! :)

Shirley

That is one cute baby, Jane!  I clicked on the tiny one & it got big to see her better.... She still has that Reba grin & I expect her parents thinks she looks like you, right?  Hope they forget to take her home & you get to keep her a while, will enjoy watching her grow up.  Thank them for sharing with us.

Another unusual & beautiful rose, Sato.  I've never seen petals like that. Great detail.

JaneS

Thank you Angelface, for puttting Emma right side up and thank the rest of you for the kind words.

Angelface, could you email me what you did to reposition the photo?  Please?

Jane unless you have PSP2018 by Corel, it wouldn't help. I rotated then flipped the photo using PSP as an editor. Bubble also uses a Corel PSP program so I'm not sure if there is something else available.

FlaJean

Beautiful rose, Sato.

Jane, adorable.

Lindancer

Jane, she is a keep,  she will keep you young
