 G'Day to you all.just looked in and saw it was a new layout ! at same time  I had a problem with the PC !, caused a slight problem ! sorting things out ! , so this is a bit of a test run, now it's just sorting out the font size etc, not a good idea on a grey cold miserable day !, still very mild here but the forecast is not looking good !, however no snow is forecast for the near future !, hope it stays that way, now to sort out this font size !  :-\
                                                  CHEERS  ROLEY.

This was not the day to test my brain waves, REALLY!  Have a yard full of leaves to bag, turkey & all the trimmings to fix because 5 of the clan are showing up to help eat turkey tonight (all had reasons to be here & happened to be a meal time).... so I need to clean the house as well (at least a path).. Have coverings on the couch in the "family kitchen" that cats claim so want to wash fur off & put covers back on. One of the bunch has allergies. I'm sitting here thinking.  :-\

Have to tell you what Tom has been up to all morning (more than 3 hours)... he's sitting at a new gopher hole watching to catch the critter in action.  Old LaurenKat was really good at this but Tom doesn't realize they can hear his moving around above where they are digging. The mound of dirt has gotten bigger in spite of his diligence. They have 9 new mounds of dirt in the last couple days, not sure what makes them dig where they do, I have more piles than any area in sight.

Better get moving, will check in when I need a rest.... y'all take care. This is to be our nicest day for a while so have some outside jobs to do when the oven is doing it's thing with the turkey.

Amy, I lost a big "wing nut" off the snow blower a few years ago & couldn't figure why it wasn't working right until I thawed out. Not a chance of finding it in that snow, but a year later it showed up on the edge of the driveway. Had a different type "nut" holding that part together in between.... same "nut" driving it.  ;)

Hi Everyone. It is a beautiful sunny and chilly day here in South Carolina.  When I got up this morning it was 32 degrees, our first freezing day of the season but we will be in the mid-50's this afternoon.  I am late getting here this morning as have been dealing with paperwork involved with the DMV and the sale of the PT Cruiser to my son.  As normal his first trip generated more paperwork needed so he was just here and hopefully that is taken care of.  I have already taken the vehicle off of the insurance policy so now officially only own one vehicle. The housekeeper is here this morning and Pat and I plan on going out for lunch today to enjoy the nice weather and to keep the kitchen clean for at least one day. I may pick up a couple of prescriptions from Walmart when we are out.

I see the software update has been done as had to sign in again this morning and see the changes in the appearance of the site.  Thank Oldiesmann.

deAngel, I think the only thing we lost in our move here to SC was an old briefcase that had some papers Pat had from her mother and sister.  There was nothing of any value to anyone else but was sad to see Pat lose those papers.  We should have brought it in the car or packed in in a box.

Jane, you are indeed a dynamo in the candy department. I see your evening of being a bag lady was a success. Click on the second A with the up down arrow in front of it in the controls and you can change the size of the font. Just hover over each control button and it will tell you what it does.

Gloria, I am looking forward to a nice quiet Thanksgiving since we won't be doing a meal.  If you will email me the size, color and other information that you use on your postings I will fix the code for you and email it back.  I just have my code I use each day saved and then copy and paste it at the beginning of the posting each day.

Mary, your formatting looks fine. It iw very readable.

Callie, after rainy and bad days it sure is nice to see that sunshine.  Glad your trip to the grocery was a success and you are ready to prepare your Thanksgiving dish(s).

Shirley, I have never wanted a pool for the reasons you indicated yours has become a real burden to you.  Glad it got winterized.  If you get rid of the stock pot you wouldn't get stuck with the job again.  I just folded up our kitchen towels and dish rags this morning.  Pat always washes them the day before the housekeeper comes and we have a basket full of them.  I also constantly wash my hands when I do things in the kitchen and clean up as I go along including putting the containers back on the shelf or in the refrigerator when I am through with them.  I don't like to leave things sitting around for later. Pat wanted the room darkening drapes and has now ordered the shears to go with them.  Those are the only windows in our whole house with drapes or curtains on them as Pat decided not to do the window treatments when we moved here as she wasn't able to handle the work involved with keeping them clean.  AT&T seems to be putting the high speed lines in many new locations.  They cut out part of our sidewalk at the edge of our property and there is still a warning cone on the spot.  I wonder when they are going to fix it. Shirley, why don't you put that crew to work tonight and a lot could be done in a short time. I bet they would be happy to be able to help you.  (Don't mean to meddle)

Amy, glad your neighbor will be able to help you with the driveway as he will want to make good use of the plow on his truck. I use a ballpoint pen that is a put out by Uni-Ball and has a micro roller point.  It is very similar to writing with a fountain pen.

Roley, it is always frustrating when our computers don't act as they should.  It looks like you got things straitened out.

CallieOK

Hello, Soda Shoppers.

Lots of different things to learn with the new site.

Another sunny lovely day in Central Oklahoma.   I was so busy yesterday that, other than getting a perm this morning,  I don't have any place I need to go.

Guess that means I'll "have" to do some desk work.

I clicked on Preview and got the row of smiley faces and ways to do Bold, Underline, etc.  I could read what they all were by holding my mouse marker over each one.  The box with the A in it is for font size, color, etc.  The two to the right of it are for inserting things.

Hope Everyfriend Everywhere is having a Fabulous Friday.

June Drabek

I am so confused, I clicked on size 6 and it still comes out unreadble for for meAmy, it is me. Ifeel like I am back in[ kindergarten./size]

Well, here goes!  I don't know how it will come out but I'm too tired to change it.  I decided today that I can do all the necessary shoveling or I can go to work and work the HARD registers.  I can't do both.  I'm truly beat right down to my sox today.  I haven't done a blessed thing since I got home except to cook supper.  I have enough for a couple day to come.

I'm going to post this and see what happens...if I can figure out how to post.  Wish me luck!

Hi Everyone. I am going to go ahead and post this evening as I have plans for tomorrow morning and won't have much time before I leave.  We are having a fund raiser at our Church to raise money for our Bolivia mission trip next year.  It is called "Pancakes for Bolivia".  I plan to attend that and then go on to my Saturday meeting.  Pat and I did go out and have BBQ for our late afternoon meal.  Now just enjoying a quiet evening.

I want to share how I post as it might be helpful to come of you having difficulty.  I always two tabs for each discussion I write in.  On one of them I go to the "Quick Reply" posting box at the bottom of the page with the newest posting.  I then go back to where I last posted in the other tab and read each post.  If I want to comment on  something I just click on the other tab and write my comments.  Before I start any posting I add this coding:  [ size=14pt][ b] [ color=black] but without the added spaces before size, b, and color.  You can replace the size with another size or change the color.  Once you have your coding as you want it you could save it on your desktop or in notepad and then just copy it from where it is saved and paste in the posting box.  If you hover the mouse over the little symbols on the strip above the posting box it tells you what the function is.  If you put the coding at the beginning of your posting you do not have to highlight and no closing coding is needed.  If you wanted to highlight a sentence with a different color then you would need to highlight and the click on the applicable code symbol and select what you want.

When you click on the Preview box next to the Post box before the message you will see how your posting is going to look and have the opportunity to make other changes.  If someone posts while you are preparing your posting Those posts will show up.  Just don't forget that you still have to hit the Post box after doing the Preview to send your message.

I hope none of you will be discouraged and stop posting.  In the preview mode you do have access to the emoticons that you do have see in the Quick Reply box.  If you need help please feel free to email me and if you will give me your phone number I will call you and walk you through this.  Over the years there have been several update of software and that is what has happened here. Don't be afraid to click on the various symbols in the strip above the posting box or where it says "Attachments and other Options" below the box.

I may take the day off from posting tomorrow but don't worry about me as I am fine.

June, hope what I wrote above is helpful to you and others who may be confused by our new software appearance. Click on the "Preview" button below the posting box and you can see how it is going to look and your message box will be below that box. You will not have posted until you actually hit the "Post" button.

Jane, hope you get a good rest tonight and have the day off from Walmart tomorrow so you don't have to push yourself so hard.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I think I must be rested up because I woke up naturally 15 minutes before the alarm went off this morning.  The doggies have been out and had their pills and I have a fresh cup of coffee in front of me.  I ready to meet this day.

I got gumdrops and I'm going to try AMY's gumdrop cake but I'm not going to make it until Tuesday because if they turn out good, I want to take one along to my daughters on Thanksgiving and get a second opinion.

LARRY, I have one question about the website.  I thought I signed up to be notified when there are new postings but I wasn't notified this morning.  I'm going to try something different today and if it works, I'll let you know.  If it doesn't, I'll be back asking questions.

Coconut centers are on the schedule for today and I'm hoping that my daughter calls about going to the Amish Store sometime today because I need to stock up on dipping chocolate and that's the cheapest place to get it!  I haven't decided if I'll go with her or ask her to get some for me.  I can't think of anything else I need except doggie treats and that's not urgent yet.

OK here goes the posting.  And the try at getting notified.  Enjoy your day, Everyfriend.  Make it your own in every way!

Well, this will take some getting used to.  I did highlight each time that I made a change....... Bold...... Color.....and Font Size .

It sure was easier to be able to do all 3 steps at the same time,  but doing it this way, it worked out ok.

Old people just take longer to adjust to changes. LOL

Have a good Saturday.

Good morning everyone...

Looks to be a lovely day and they are calling for more flurries..oh well, it is winter.

Laundry and baking today after we go to town for milk .

Joy, that looks good to me! Muscles are telling me what I did yesterday..they will get in step soon I hope.

Shirley,we do learn all this rather quickly I might add. Hard to believe that a man could get his large hands into the spot where I had a dickens of a time putting my small ones!

Jane, you can make them ahead of time and just wrap in plastic and keep in the fridge.

Gloria, I am glad you daughter liked them, whats not to like they have chocolate in them :)

Enjoy your day everyone.

AMY, you haven't seen my fridge!  There isn't a spare inch of space in there with all the chocolate fixins taking up space.  I'll have to start giving it away pretty soon or stop eating.  I'm off to try to make som headway.  The coconut centers are the messiest and I was really hoping that my daughter would text before I have my hands all goopy.  I'm off!

Good morning everyone. Sunny now but does not last, next minute it will be cloudy again. We ended with 8 inches of snow yesterday, surprised with so much rain when the snow stopped. Of course I had to bundle up and go out. I picked up a handful of it and thought it was perfect for snowman making. Yesterday my CNA and I made some No Bake Candy Cookies. Very easy but I had not made them since I moved here. Came out good, Think we will make another batch to take to my grandson's for Thanksgiving. Have everything I need to make some Ambrosia. Brought that to my son's at Christmas a few years ago and everyone enjoyed it. Will make more this time, a few more people will be there this year.

ROLEY  yesterday I did not know where I was when I got here. Getting too old to like changes where I am used to going.

SHIRLEY  time to tell your family that it is time for them to do the cooking for family get togethers holidays or any time.sing your pool I would not bother with it. When we had our pool it was an above ground and I was the one who took care of it. We all loved it and it was is use every day. For me it was a chance to get outside.

CALLIE  if I could sit long enough I would get a perm, Getting to the stage hard to raise both arms to brush and comb my hair.

LARRY we will be lucky to out of the 30's today. This cold has come so sudden after the warm weather we had till a few days ago. I have never used codes except for a link to the Card shop or Photos. I had them saved on the desktop but after my grandson took this lemon home in December and wiped everything out I lost many things and then had to reinstall what I use all the time. He also installed Win. 10 and I still miss t. I knew where everything was on that but things are different in 10.

JOY  so right you are. Takes longer for new things to sink into our brains tha            yard so full of a life time of evrey thing we have learned.

AMY  my daughter t old me yesterday that the ladies enjoyed the Moose farts. A few had one and said it was good, another one asked who brought them and another assked what they were called. They laughed at the name. They were the hit of the meeting. Thank you again for posting the link for them, I have the recipe printed out for me if I get ambitious to make them.

JANE years ago I made something with coconut covered in chocolate and my daughter said they were better than a Mounds bar. They were messy to make and I never made them again.

Have a good day everyone.

hahaha, June, I remember there is/was a way to change the size on our own computer pages but alas, don't remember the "how to" part. I'm anxious to see how those photos load, but do think we are still only supposed to post them over in the "Photos" discussion, is that right?

I need to start loading my car to take stuff to the party.  Last night when Andy & wife were here to help eat the turkey meal, they took the cake home with them to save me carrying it around. Those cakes weigh a ton! I still have the big pot of turkey noodles to load & another turkey breast that "anyone that wants can slice or cut chunks to munch".... I baked that on Thursday, baked the whole turkey with dressing & whole works on Friday... so this morning was just put all those wonderful drippings & flavors into the stock pot, plus cans of chicken broth & stick of butter.. it really is good stuff.... 4 16 oz packages of Reams Homestyle egg noodles (bought 3 & decided I better throw that extra one that I keep in the freezer into the pot... it's "sell by" date is 12/1/18 & I don't plan to fix any more ..EVER. This time I mean it  :crazy2:

SHIRLEY......are you SURE are you REALLY SURE?  You just have to get ridof the pot.....that will be your only way of getting out of it!  The soup sounds delicious....I mean REALLY delicious so no wonder everybody loves it.  I know I sure would!  Your family gatherings sound so delightful....makes me wish I was a part of your local family!  I hope you can take a breath and enjoy yourself today.

YIPPEE, JANE is going to the Amish Store.  That always makes me smile!

We are headed out in the REALLY cold weather this afternoon to watch our Granddaughter Kate dances at The Starlighting Ceremony in Castle Rock this afternoon.  The temps are in the 20's.....so far it is only slick and messy with no snow accumulations....it is going to be miserable BUT we GOTTA go see our girl.

IF I do not freeze to death out there I will be back later to check on you all.

Enjoy your Saturday.
