Patricia...that's correct, a nine hour difference...soon be mid-night here, as I call it " the witching hour "

MarsGal

Good evening everyone!

I just thought I would drop in with my report on the St. David's Day luncheon Sue and I attended. We met a lovely bunch of people, but there were not many. They were terribly excited that Sue and I came. Like us here and on SeniorLearn, we are suffering from a dwindling membership. The current president of the group said that no one one has yet stepped up to be nominated for the position of president. Her term is up next month (they serve for no more than two year terms). Another hopeful possibility for attracting new membership came up when one of the servers identified himself as a free-lance writer and is interested in doing an article about the group for Harrisburg Magazine. That is a plus if it comes about because I don't think their efforts for the past number of years to attract new members has been very effective.

The luncheon was very good. A chicken dish, green beans, garden salad, potato and leek soup, Welsh Rarebit, strawberry pie, and a dessert which was called a Welsh Raspberry Cake. The "cake" was a one layer wedge of some kind of base that was more like some kind of bread, but not quite, with a raspberry spread and cream topping and fresh raspberries atop that. Tea, coffee and iced tea were available. There was so much left over that everyone was invited to take some home. Entertainment before and during the meal was provided by two women playing a harp and bells. Very nice.

Once again, it has clouded up for the night, but I can just see a bit of the moon trying to shine through. Two planes just went by as I looked out, one vectoring in to land at the airport, the other holding steady just below the clouds heading East. Just before dawn I have been viewing Jupiter near Antares (in the constellation Scorpio). Saturn and Venus are not far behind, but with the dawn coming close behind them, I usually don't see them. Venus was spectacular to see during the weeks it was on view at night. Now it is too close to sunrise to notice. As it is Jupiter is still a bit to the East of me now when the dawn arrives; I can still see it for a bit, but most everything gets washed out.

Well, that is pretty much it for my day. The afternoon got taken up by a nap.

Doing my own calculations, plus the fact I know the information anyway, I am four hours ahead of Patricia (7:18 now) and five hours behind Jackie (12:18 am).  If England does not change when we do, Jackie will be six hours ahead of EDT.

MarsGal,I think if I had your viewpoints with no external lights, I'd be more interested in the stars and planets, but because I can't see them, I ignore them.

Patricia, I couldn't find it, but it seems a piece of Alaska is on Hawaii time.

I doubt I'll be back tonight, but you never know; some topic may show up that I feel I MUST respond to!

MaryAnn with Cloudy skies during winter and 24/7 daylight otherwise, I can't either but...

Is anybody out there??

MaryAnn, "Parts of the Aleutian Islands, 2740 kilometers (1703 miles) west of the state capital Juneau, use Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time (HAST) and Hawaii-Aleutian Daylight Time (HADT) during DST."

Mary Ann

Patricia, interesting to speculate if anyone is indeed out there.  My first thought was the air would be so rarefied out there that "whatever" would not survive.  But I am sure by the time someone does figure out to get "whatever" to our planet, there would be something to make it possible.  It will be beyond my lifetime.

MarsGal - your St. David's Day Luncheon sounds interesting . . . with lots of delicious food to enjoy.  I can imagine that they were happy to see you and your sister.  Too bad that attendance at such meetings, and group get-togethers has dropped off so drastically in the past couple of years.  As you said, it's the same with postings on message boards like S&F and SL. I've read that people don't join groups or clubs, or participate any more in activities of that sort, like they used to.  I don't know if book clubs are still active, or if they are now all online?  Women are so incredibly busy now, with so many different activities, besides working a full time job . . . I guess no one wants to committ to joining an organization, much less being one of the officers.

It's now a little after 8:00 PM here.  I don't feel much like watching TV, so I think I'll read for awhile, then set my bedside clock ahead one hour, and hope for a good night's sleep.  See you all in the morning.

Just stopping by to say good morning, posting at 7.35 am Sunday...now lets see how long before anyone else makes a posting..

Edited: 8.15 am, no one else around, I am feeling kindof left out and lonely on here..;D

Mary Ann

Jackie, it is 8:16 am EDT here and you posted at 1:36 EST (my time) and I was sleeping soundly at that time.  Marilyn's post was at 10:15 EST (my time).  We all should get our acts together and things will return to whatever is normal soon.

Marilyn, I don't have any TV favorites either Saturday or Sunday nights so last night (Saturday), I thought of different places I had been on tours/trips and watched cam shots of several of those places - Isle of Mull (Scotland), Oban (Scotland), two for example. On a tour you hit the highlights and I recognized hardly anything in the videos because we did not get off the beaten path.  I may do the same tonight with the northwest corner of the US and Canada.  I've been to Seattle and Vancouver BC, also Vancouver Island BC (Jim's sister lives there).  It was a nice way to spend an evening.

I have five minutes before I have to start getting dressed.

Mary Ann

MarsGal

Mary Ann, I do have light pollution, including a street light just 10 yards away, so I can only see the brightest of stars. Winter nights are much clearer, when there aren't any clouds, than summer. I just do naked-eye viewing. George gave me a 4-inch telescope years ago, but I seem to have misplaced some of the parts when I last moved. They are probably tucked away on one of the storage boxes I never got around to unpacking. (I have been making a weak effort to go through some of this stuff and pitch or give away what I have not used in years.)

Marilyne, our library offers book discussions. I went to one once. I was the only one that showed up. As far as I know, the local used book store still has a regular Urban Fantasy book discussion group. It is about time I checked to see what is going on there.

It is raining here today and 35o right now, to go to 53sup]o[/sup]. I plan on working some more on my taxes. Other than that, I have lots of reading to do.

Marilyne

I can see that this is going to be a strange day, due to the time change. Usually it's a smooth transition, but for some reason, everything seems out of place this morning. Hard to explain, so I won't try. ::)

Nothing happening here today. Sandy may come today instead of tomorrow to do her weekly laundry.  She has a dentist appointment tomorrow, as well as a job interview, so that will take the slack out of her day.  Brad, was planning to come over this afternoon, and bring their new Lab puppy for his first visit.  However, I doubt if he comes, because it's still raining, and supposed to keep it up all day.

Mary Ann - You're probably home from church, and your weekly brunch at the Cholesterol Pit?  I'm still looking for a decent tuna melt, somewhere near me?  So far I haven't found one.

I see that Larry hasn't posted this morning?  I'm hoping he'll be in later, after he adjusts to the time change.

Vanilla-Jackie

Marilyne..Larry Hanna hasn't posted on the Christian site either today.. :(

Hi Everyone. Had just started my morning posting and eating my breakfast when Scott drove in. It was 12.15 when he left. Pat has been yhaving problems keeping her laptop connected to the internet. He worked on it for awhile and hopefully got it fixed. It this doesn't solve the problem then going to switch her to my computer that I am not using now and put hers back to factory condition. However right now don't have the energy to work on it. I have read through the posting but not going to offer any indivual comments.

We are having a beautiful sunny day in the 70s.  Mary Ann, I would love to visit Vancouver Island BC, but not enough to go on an airplane to get there.  We drove to Alberta CA in 2003 and spent a week touring in the area around Lake Louise.  Then we drove to British Columbia on our way to the states and Calif. to see our oldest daughter who was living in the Santa Cruz area.  By the time we got to BC we were just anxious to be on our way to Calif.  Now our oldest daughter, son-in-law and grandson live about an hour's drive from Vancouver (City) and we (husband and I) do not want to go on an airplane to anywhere.  I've traveled by plane too much over the years—to and from North Africa, to and from Guam, to and from Calif., and I hated every minute.

Anyone who who has been in the forums about cooking knows I hate to cook.  However, for some unknown reason, I enjoy watching good programs about cooking.  Last night I watched an old Julia Childs show that was really entertaining (I don't think it was supposed to be).  She had a HUGE rolling pen and was wracking a cold lump of dough.  I thought she was going to break the table.  And pushing out that dough when she was kneeding was different to say the least.  Then I watched a couple of Test Kitchen shows that made the most delicious looking chocolate cakes and pies.  By this time I had to go eat one of my turtle candies.  That was my Sat. Night TV watching.

Glad to hear from you, Larry.  Hope everyone is having a good day.

It's good to see a post from Larry.  You had a good excuse for being late.

Dot and I did our usual.  We expected we'd have a green pie but there were none on the shelf.  Maybe next week.

Marilyn, all tuna melts are not alike, even here.  It may be that the one at Mr Burger was the first one I had and I compare others to that, but even another Mr Burger's is not as good as the one I get at our nearby Mr Burger aka The Cholesterol Pit!

We must be having some weather because I notice there are some closings due to weather.

MarsGal, our light pollution is due to a building up the hill from us where there are six lights at the back of the building and two in front that shine down on our complex.  It is necessary to have curtains on our bedroom windows or it's like daylight when we go to bed.

Jean, I'm not a plane fan and if you would drive to BC, there is a ferry that goes to Victoria so you could even take your car there.  I know it is a long drive and you don't care to make such a long drive, but you  don't have to fly to Vancouver Island.  I don't mind the airports, but the planes are confining.

Jim's sister lives in Victoria and any time we took a tour in that area, we'd end the tour by going to Sooke, where she lived at the time.  Her husband died two or three years ago so she has sold her house to her daughter and SIL and is in Victoria.  I won't be going up there again, myself, but I loved it on the Island.  In 2012 Jim's family and I flew there just for all of us to be together.  What fun!  Jean, actually, if I wanted to go somewhere bad enough, I'd fly.  I flew alone many times and could do it again.  I do order a wheelchair and that helps.  Fortunately, I don't have any place that calls me at the present time!

Julia Child did a lot of unconventional things.  I didn't watch her regularly, but once in a while would watch when she'd do something out of the ordinary - and I don't even remember what happened.

I'm watching the PGA Arnold Palmer Invitational and of the first 10 players, only three are Americans and the first American is #5.  Two Brits, an Italian and an Aussie.  That is very unusual as the Americans usually dominate the American courses.

Good late morning from a partly cloudy Interior showing 40 above. I checked various temperature sites and was very confused as each one had a different report.

We ranged according to these sites from mid-twenties to mid-thirties with only Accuview Weather showing plus 37 at the airport. My recessed northwest facing balcony device says 40 degrees,  which is par for the course with so many pockets of water throughout.

Farrah still is vocal and needy since the vet. She not only follows me from room to room but wants more than the usual attention. I believe the dental issues were hurting and she didn't feel like doing that much then, but now she does. Alan came by to pick up some items I was donating, and she hid the entire time! Usually, she's right out there so this is new behavior.

We have a lot going on here due to the University as well as the wilderness and waterways right at our doors. There are a lot of European settlers, Asian, East Indian and  Russian mainly and both Eskimo and Indians of various tribes call this area home.

Friendship day which is usually tied to the Indian/Eskimo Olympics is filled with vendors,  both Native and European showcasing both native foods, artwork, and native costumes. You will gain weight just walking through the venue! There are various programs, both Native and European showcasing their native dances and sports.

There are,(Because of the locale); multiple painters and photographers locally, so there are different exhibits and shows throughout the year as well as programs at Creamer's Field; a  Migratory Waterfowl Refuge. It is a 2,200-acre bird sanctuary, located partially within the city limits. It consists of wetlands, fields, and forests, with both paths and raised walkways. There are twelve acres available for monitored public use.

This city is like most; the center has mainly offices and transportation hubs while everything interesting is on the outside rungs or in the foothills as with the University. The city is engulfed with five different military bases, and it's only been a city since 1903 so reasonably young in the scheme of things. The various military bases and the University brings the medium average age to mid-thirties.

Marilyne

Jean - I understand that you're through with flying, but you might enjoy another means of transportation, such as train, car, or RV.  A car or RV trip would take forever from FL to BC, but if you stopped for a few days at a time to see sites and landmarks along the way, it could be very enjoyable.  I'm not saying I would do it . . . my traveling days are definitely over.  I might consider it if I had a family member living on the opposite coast, but would probably opt to fly. Does your daughter visit you often?

MarsGal- I laughed when you said you went to a library book discussion, and you were the only one there.  I can relate!  Many years ago, my town library was holding a book signing, by John Gray, author of, Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus.  My cousin and I had both read that book, and she especially liked it.  So, John Gray, was here to promote his next book, which was a follow-up to "Mars/Venus". (I don't recall the title now?) I decided to go, and buy a signed copy for my cousin's birthday.  I went, and poor John Gray, was sitting there all alone, with a stack of books in front of him.  Nobody, had been there before me, and I found out later, that nobody came after me!  When I walked up to the table, he laughed and said,
"At last, at last - I'd given up hope"!  He was really a very pleasant and gracious man, and I was glad I had made the effort to go.

Mary Ann

Marilyn, that has to be embarrassing to an author to have only one person show up at a book signing.  I remember the book but not the author's name.  I did not read the book.  I have two books by Mitch Albom and he lives in Detroit, but I'll never get there to have him sign either.  Both are first editions, but I doubt what you buy are authentic first editions, ones that would be collectors' items.  One book is "Tuesdays with Morrie" and the other is "Have a Little Faith".  Mitch Albom is a sports writer for the Detroit Free Press but has written those two books plus a few novels - I don't read novels, only non-fiction.  And with my eyesight now, I don't read anything!

Patricia, I looked up the Wedgewood Resort in Fairbanks and the video looked like the suite Jim and I had; probably they're all alike.  I still remember the vegetables and flowers I saw, how large they were, because of the growing days.

Tom has just left to meet Annie and they'll either go to supper or a movie.  They do that every so often and Tom just bursts his buttons thinking of the relationship he has with both of his kids, but especially Annie.  He knows many fathers are not as lucky.

Mary Ann

JeanneP

Jean.
I just was watching that Julia Child show. Beating the dough. She had to have been the worst pie baker. Did you notice her trying to put the dough in the Pan? I always watched her if only for fun. did you ever see the one where she dropped the , it was chicken I think. She picked  it up, wiped it on a towel and said "No one would see me doing that. As if not on TV. I am amazed she still on after all these years. i spend all Sat. Sunday in winter watching cooking shows.
JeanneP

Lindancer

Good evening almost 9:30PM  rained all day. I will go to bed and read until 1, while watching TV with my TV ears on  got the picture, cat in my lap.  Most likely watching Johnny Carson or Murder She Wrote. No more Victoria to watch, until next time they bring the series back.

Marilyne, MarsGal, I am starting to notice membership going down in most of the clubs I belong too. Except Homemakers, we still have a waiting list. Lassies  and Red Hats do not have the turn out like they use too. Lassies (park women's club)Now they decided not to meet during Jan. and Feb and during the summer. to me it was more important to get together in the winter months, it was not like we had to go out on the Main roads,I belong to two RH Chapters, but after 20 years I guess we are just getting older and no one wants to take over with new ideas. First few years we went to lunch and TV shows in the city.

As for book clubs, they still seem to be popular. Of course the library has one Glenwood village also meet at the Rec. hall and even one of the ladies that volunteers at the library has a book club in Homemakers

MaryAnn I carry my tracfone all the time but very seldom use it.  Did use it when I was in the hospital, as I could plug and ear piece in it so I could hear

Mary Ann

Gloria, it seems so many organizations are declining.  This is far out, but younger people are so glued to TV and their phones, they don't have time to meet friends and socialize.  I wonder what the world will be like in 100 years and I am glad I won't be around to find out.  Our retirees (4-5 of us) don't get together in the winter but one reason is two of the women go south.  Probably in May we'll start up again.  You are right about people aging and don't want to get out like they used to.

Tom said he is subbing tomorrow, but he doesn't know where yet; he will e-mail me to let me know.  It isn't that I have to know, but I like to know.  If I need to get in touch with Tom when he's working, I can always call him.  I would not call him except in an emergency but I often do e-mail him and he can answer when/if he wants.

I was glad to see your post tonight because so often when I check in at this time, no one has been anywhere in S&F.  I am now going to bed.

Well as usual I am closing the gap..Mary Ann last posted going on six hours before me...The dog woke me up this morning, guess around the 6.30 am, mark, something Toby has never done ( come into my bedroom, he is a Richards bedroom dog, ) he was in my bedroom, on the floor, looking up at me, wagging his tail. After calling him up on my bed, another thing he has never done, well not with me still inside it, after several attempts of jumping up, he is only a small cocker spaniel, he was up allowing me to make a fuss of him...I got out for my usual bladder emptying and left him there, no sense in me trying to get  back in with him, knowing him, he would jump back off the bed I am sure...

Doubt he would be too happy if he knew where he was going this morning, Richard is taking him to the vets for his annual vaccination - check-up, which will include his anal gland emptying, getting him weighed and picking up this years flee-tick collar, something our dogs never needed back home, ( we are in tick County ) and these collars ( Seresto ) dont come cheap..

Mary Ann

Jackie, you're surrounded by ME!  You posted at 3 am my time (EDT) and it is now 8:45 am here.  I've had my snack of coffee and cookie and I'll have my breakfast later.  I spent some time this morning watching the Two Harbors Boat Launch and there were six vehicles parked when I looked in.  I saw three men pull sleds toward the lighthouse and another man had a riding mower pulling a sled.  Two men joined him and one had a sled that they attached to the other sled.  Two of the men had dogs and the dogs had great fun playing in the snow.  Eventually they all headed out onto the lake and the two extra men got on the mower too; they all went out with the dogs running along side of them.  By the time they got to the lighthouse they were all fly specks on my screen, especially the dogs.

Jackie, my cat comes in about 7:30 or 8 am and gets up on my bed and gets settled to go to sleep.  I put my hand on his head to let him know I'm near but I can't go back to sleep.  He must have sixth sense because I will know I am going to cough or sneeze but before I can actually do it, he senses it and leaves.  ESP?

On my agenda today is to try to get two passwords straightened out so I can contact the companies and my chime clock battery wore out so I must reset the clock with a new battery.

Tom thought he was going to teach today but he's still here.  He might have gotten a late starting school or class.

I think we're going to have a nice day today.  The highs are a bit higher each day and I saw a notice we may hit 60 degrees before the end of the week.  That should take care of some of the snow.

Mary Ann

Joy

Good Monday morning.   It is a pretty sunny morning.

Messages have been slow in here.

Nice to see you here this morning,  Jackie.  Sure hope Richard doesn't  have any problems getting the dog to the Vets.  That was always a big chore when we had a dog.

Mary Ann,  I did check the boat launching dock on Sat. but did not see any signs of the men I saw last week  And, did not  notice any breaks in the piles of snow like they made last week to get the air boat out  onto the lake.  It was really foggy early in the morning.

I have not looked at it today, yet.

Nothing much happening so  far today.  Need to get a  few chores done before it is time to get my hair done.

Have a good day.

Hi Everyone.  I am getting a late start this morning as this was the morning for my shower.  That always wears me out.  It looks like we will be getting up to 72 degrees this afternoon and we are in for another cloudy day with the potential of some rain from time to time.  The housekeeper is back this morning for a couple of hours and will help her with her sewing room.  She is trying to arrange things to make getting her   fabric more accessible.  I have no plans for today.

Jean, I am with you in not wanting to get on an airplane anymore.  Yesterday we had a notice from the DMV that we should go ahead and renew our drivers license as the ones we have now will not allow us to go on a plane or leave the USA.  We don't plan on getting them renewed until next year when they expire as we see no need for it.  I always liked to watch cooking shows although I have never been a cook.  However, the Food Channel doesn't have the kind of shows anymore that I enjoyed and seem to just show the same shows for an extended period of time.  Julia Child was a unique person and has an interesting history.

Mary Ann, what is green pie?  The USA no longer has all the best golfers although we have some good ones.

Patricia, nice to see that Farrah is now her peppy self.  It sounds like some interesting events going on in your area.

Jackie, I hope the trip for Toby today goes well.  You all take great care of your dogs.

I didn't try to address everyone today but will try to do so in the days to come, probably not everyone everyday as no longer have the energy to do that.

Marilyne

Good morning!  Lots of friends here this morning.  I'm lagging way behind, so I guess DST finally caught up with me.  I didn't get up until 8:00, which is late for me!  Of course it's really only 7:00, so that makes it okay!

Larry, Good to see you here, with one of your longer morning messages.  I hope that means you're getting stronger every day. Seventy-Two degrees for you today, sounds wonderful.  I hope you can get outside and enjoy some sun.

Jackie, I think Toby was hoping you would hide him, and keep him safe from the dreaded Vet visit.  He knew there was no hope of avoiding it, as long as he stayed near Richard. ;D  Cocker Spaniels, have such adorable faces.  We had one named Sunny, when I was growing up. He was the beautiful red color of an Irish Setter.

Joy - I haven't looked at the boat launch site today either.  I hope to see more going on there today, than a bunch of men, standing around talking.  I just realized that I've never seen a woman, or not that I was aware of?  I guess that ice fishing is strictly a male sport?!

Gloria de - I don't think I have the TV channel that shows Murder She Wrote, or Johnny Carson?  I would love to see either of those reruns, as they were both favorites of mine, back in the long ago.  I believe that Angela Lansbury, is still living, and is up in her mid-nineties now? I like to watch her old movies, when they play on TCM.

Mary Ann - I want to comment on Mitch Albom, but my breakfast is ready, so I'd better get going, or I'll get even further behind this morning.  You didn't mention the name of my favorite Albom, book!  I'll be back later to tell you the name.

Mary Ann

That is a nice long message from you today, Larry, like old times.  With St Patrick's Day coming Sunday, I expect one of the pies at Mr Burger will be green, maybe with mint flavoring.  Around Halloween and Thanksgiving we've had a pumpkin pie, but not as we are accustomed to; a cream pie with some pumpkin in it to give it a light orange color.  Or at Christmas, the pies would have Christmas trimming on them.  They have a variety of pies and Dot tries to get something different each week.  People accuse us of having our dessert before our Tuna Melt.

Kendrick just came in here for his morning loving and I see cat hair all over my fingers.

Joy, I doubt the people fishing are the same every day.  You may never see that air boat again.  The riding mower I saw before is not the same one I saw today.  One man came in pulling a sled, put everything in his SUV and drove off.  It was about 7:15 am for him and I figured he was heading home before going to work.  It was fun watching the dogs; they had so much energy and it seemed obvious they knew each other because they played well together.  They looked like black labs - black, anyway.

Marilyn, with the clothes they wear, I doubt you could tell a woman out there, however,  the women usually are shorter and smaller and I've seen a couple I thought were women.  They probably would not be in a group but with one other person.  I do think ice fishing is mostly a male sport.  The reason I haven't mentioned your favorite Mitch Albom story is the two I have are non-fiction and that is all I read.

After the hurricane that devastated Haiti, Mitch Albom went there and had a building built as a haven and school for some of the children; I even think it is an orphanage.  He has things going on in Detroit to make money to fund the orphanage.  He has brought back to Detroit two children, at least, who needed major surgery and he and his wife housed the children (not at the same time).  One of them died, but the other was able to go back to the orphanage.  He writes a column every Sunday in the Free Press that I try to read.  He also follows the sports teams because he is a sports writer.  I believe he and his wife have no children.  He has done a lot for the City of Detroit.

Richard is back early from his dopler scan of his neck blood vessels, he passed with flying colours towards his future open heart surgery preps, Richard said this was the first thing she said to him " so you are due a " little " heart surgery soon, he said to her, " yes, but I dont know about LITTLE " :o

Marilyne...
...at that point Toby didn't know of his coming vet appointment..

Larry Hanna...
...I would have more dogs in my life if our situation wasn't as it is...

Joy...
...there is a nice large field area that lays back behind the vets surgery, just perfect for a dog walk, on or off the lead, Richard said he met some other dogs and had a runaround with one or two...This was his after the vet treat...

Another warm sunny day.  Rain that is north of us looks like it is heading in your direction, Larry.  We had a light rain during the night.  I never watch the FOOD network anymore, but found on Cox cable a public "Create" channel that shows a lot of good cooking shows.  I love the "Test Kitchen" shows among several others.  It is channel 694 so didn't find it until I started looking at Cox channel list.  Too many channels and most of them not worth looking at, but to get certain ones you have to take them all.

To visit Lowe's or Home Depot we have to shop in Destin.  This means crossing the Choctawhatchee Bay on the Mid-Bay 3.6 mile bridge.  We live just a mile or two from the bridge and Lowe's is a mile or two from the other side of the bridge.  Very close and convenient but can get expensive.  With a bridge pass it still costs us $3 each way.  We do occasionally shop in Ft. Walton Beach but not nearly as close or convenient.  Destin is right on the Gulf of Mexico.

Anyway, we did visit Lowe's over the weekend and bought some dwarf red azaleas.  We have four in front of the bay window in front and we want to plant these along the sidewalk by the garage wall to the house.  Once we get this bed done, we are done forever, I hope, except for adding mulch and filling a pot or two with some pretty flowers.

Marilyne, our oldest daughter has not visited us since we moved here, but we visit on FaceTime once a week or so.  And we message a lot.  She works part time for an online college and she has some health problems.  It's always good to be close to home when you are not sure about your health.

JeanneP, you must also have that "Create" channel on your cable TV. Have you ever seen the movie "Julie and Julia"?  It's a true story about Julie Powell's pledge to cook all of Julia Child's recipes from her first cookbook.  It also has a lot about Julia Childs.  I really enjoyed the movie.

Love everyone's posts.
