As someone who has just lost someone very close ( five weeks ago ) my heart goes out to Pats close family...It doesnt matter whether we are expecting the death to take place or whether the death occurred suddenly, the loss and emptiness alone is hard to comprehend when that person has been part of ones life for so long...

Rest In Peace Pat Scott Halbeck...we have much to be grateful for, you set up this fine friendship forum for us...

It is so hard to lose such a good friend as Pat.  The only comforting thought is that she is now free of pain.  We shall miss her very much.  To Paul and all of her family my deepest sympathies.

I have so many wonderful memories of my long friendship with Pat from the very first days of SeniorNet where she and I had the opportunity to work together.  The first time we met in person was at Williamsport where are little group of SeniorNet volunteers did everything together.  Over the years we have had the joy of having her visit in our home as well as she and Paul staying overnight with us several times.  I know she will be greatly missed by Paul and her loving family especially by Judy and John and her children and grandchildren.  While I will miss her I today celebrate her life of as one of very strong faith as evidenced by the way she lived her life and gave so willingly of her time and money to keep our wonderful cyber family together over these years.

I have not been in this or any other social media for 2½ years now, but Bubble has just notified me about Pat, and I am drenched in sorrow and memories.  She was so ALIVE and full of energy and zest.  It made my heart happy when she moved to my home country of Winchester, Virginia; which I will visit no more forever.  Well, we are all moving in just the one direction, and I like to think of a reunion where we will prance and dance and hold hands and SING songs of Joy.  Pat will be pounding away on the piano with a huge smile on her face.  And hey, mebbe I'll even be able to sing in Key;  something that has always eluded me in this life.
Memories are everything to us these days.  I cherish the Pat pictures in my heart.  They will not leave me.
Sail away with Love, Pat!  And thank you for all your many kindnesses.  love from MaryPage

I did not know Pat in person, but felt her faith and love from Senior Net and FB.  She had a long hard road but kept her faith. Sending cyberhugs and prayers to all of her family.

Sending my sincere sympathy to Paul and Pat's family.  As it has been mentioned above, Pat was the glue that has kept us all together for such a long time.  She will be missed.

(Mary Page, how nice to see you here. Your special messages have long been missed here.  Whenever I think about or hear anything about Annapolis, I think of you.  I was just down that way a couple weeks ago.  Sure wish you would come back and spend some time with all the Seniors and Friends that miss you.)

Thank you Pat, for providing us with so many years of friendship here on Seniors and Friends.  I appreciate that you gave your time, and your money, to provide us with this site.  I'm sorry that I never had the opportunity to meet you in person, but I hope that some time, in the future, in another place, we will meet.  Until then, rest in peace, with your loved ones who have gone before you.

FlaJean

Sending my heartfelt sympathy to Pat's family.  We have lost so many of our Senior friends these last several years.  Pat was a special person and we will miss her and think of her often.

I came because I heard Pat had gone Home. I send sincere condolences to her family and friends.  No more pain for her, and she is in the presence of Jesus, the One she loved with all her heart.  Heaven is richer today.

Sorry to read that Pat has left us. I knew she had not been well for quite a while. She is at rest now. Been quite awhile since we were all together on Seniornet. What a great group. So many are now gone.

We will all miss her terribly, she did so much for us here at S&F.  I never got the chance to meet her, and that would be my loss.  My condolences to Paul and the rest of the family.

I had the pleasure to know Pat for several years and the even greater pleasure of having her as my guest in my home here in London on two occasions and once at her home in Virginia where we celebrated Paul's birthday.
What more can one add to the life story of one who led by example and was unwavering in her faith. The world is a poorer place with her loss, but those who knew her are richer for having known her as a  friend.
May Eternal Light Shine Upon Her.
