Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

What a wonderful photo of Junee.  Enjoyed so much the photos of Aviv.  I love that cabin.

It is so hot this summer.  We took these photos of some otters having a "cool off" and having fun!

Sandy, I know PJ died before Norm.  I have his obit in a file but have not looked to see the date or year.  I've said before that the problem with S&F is not that people die, but that we don't get any new people.

Jean, otters are so cute and they do have so much fun.

Thank you all for liking "my" photos!

Mary Ann, I believe PapaJohn passed away 5th Jan2015.

Mary Ann

Thanks Bubble, and Norm died in November 2015 - same year.

Shirley, I saw your note in Vimeo but I couldn't find the reply they used to have.  It is so hot here and those otters were sure having fun.

Jean, I am in a constant state of confusion with all electronics. I finally found my Vimeo password & used it last time I posted a message in there & for some reason I didn't need to sign in to tell you how much I enjoyed the video this time. By the time I get back over to the Soda Shoppe I don't remember what all I wanted to say. Jack tried to tell me how to down size files to post, buy didn't get the hang of it.

Just got done making a pot of spaghetti sauce & washing the pots & pans... & running water through the Brita pitcher to make a pot of coffee before going to bed. I'll have some with a "Ding Dong" before going to bed but got to take a shower & wash my hair first. Sunday mornings comes early... don't want to make the coffee then, I can't tell the difference so just "nuke" a cup with breakfast while the cats are eating, must get out the door by 7:00 to get a parking place anywhere near the church! It was so humid tonight when I walked the cats down to the river, I could hardly hike back up the hill. The humidity must be same as the temperature, felt like I needed part the air.

Sure miss those guys with all their kidding around... (Papa John & Norm), Jack with his experimenting with all the new stuff on Windows 10. Sato left a message in the Soda Shoppe so hope he posts photos again. I know I have not taken many photos as most years but plan to start some serious painting for a while but have to organize this house first. I think I have been spending too much time on the computer & taking care of cats. It has been too hot to be outside this year, much more humid that normal.

FlaJean

Shirley, I bet Jack would have liked that photo of you on the scooter.  I sure do miss his posting.  He left a big hole we can't fill, I'm afraid.  Sato Instant messages me every couple of days with pretty flowers and a video which I always enjoy.  I think resizing photos is a problem for many.

I do believe Jack wv still looks in but i do miss the photos of Mimi and Ogle Bay...

Jeanne, I no longer fly (unless an emergency), but on all three major airlines, I was a "frequent flyer" (just sign in to that, you don't have to be a frequent flyer) and when you do, they ask some questions, among them regarding the need for a wheelchair.  When you check in, mention the wheelchair, one comes and you are sped to the gate.  You are put on the plane first, there is a wheelchair when you land (usually the flight attendant will come to you to tell you there will be a chair waiting for you)and you will be wheeled to where you are picked up and the attendant stays with you until you are picked up,helps you with your luggage.

I will say I don't remember if I had it in Europe or not and I flew to England and Germany.  It worked in Canada.

Think about it because it relieves a lot of pressure from you.

Jeanne, my daughter and I recently flew from Dallas-Fort Worth to Seattle and back.  When she made the reservations, she mentioned a wheelchair was needed at both airports. They were waiting at check in, wheeled me thru security and right to the gate and to luggage pickup.  In Seattle they even wheeled me to the rental car place. We also flew economy and aren't frequent flyers. It's been 10 years since I had flown.  I couldn't have made the trip otherwise.

Mary Ann

MaryTX, that has been my experience with wheelchairs.  I have a Frequent Flyer account, but I am not a frequent flyer.  I think the only perk I've used is the wheelchair and I've really needed it.

I highly recommend getting a wheelchair for any older person.  Don't be ashamed to be seen in a wheelchair; it's faster than walking and easier on the legs and back!

My experience was so bad on trip to Texas from Illinois about 10 years ago . Had myright leg in cast and had requested a Wheel chair Was O.K from local Aport but then in Chicago a lady picked me up. spoke Spanish. Took me to the wrong area for Texas Flight. Got lost finding where to go. Had her take me to the main office. Chewed them out when told me next flight would be 3 hours. Was going to a School Graduation that day. Now I am really mad and told them that better get me on next flight to Houston be it any plane. First class or private. My family in Texas had their company attorney on the phone also.  Talk about a Airport moving. Every Airport coming back had heard about it and i really did get first class treatment. Never used on again. I am short but can get mean...
JeanneP

Mary Ann

Jeanne, as my mother used to say "you're short, but, oh my!"

I did have an experience once where the chair was at the top of the gateway and it was hard to walk up.  Just before I got there, another woman took the chair.  I forget what I did, maybe took one of the moving carts.  But usually I had good service.  Whether it was because I was registered in the Frequent Flyer program or not, I don't know.  I do know that when there was a tight connection, having someone pushing me in the wheelchair got me to the gate on time.  As I said previously, if you're in a wheelchair, you go on the plane before others.

Shirley

What great photos, Bubble! Your Illy looks like such a fun person, I'm guessing a lot like you. I'm also guessing you enjoyed your kids as much as she does Aviv. How lucky for kids to be SO loved and SO enjoyed! Tell her I said "thanks" for sharing these days with us. Since I also have a house on a river, I was happy to know we didn't have to worry about flooding, does that area ever flood?  The area behind my house that runs into the water does flood over so can't put anything down there I wouldn't want to float off. Besides, I live in the city & the "Parks Dept" retained ownership of the land into the water. A mile away they allowed owners to built to the water & had problems with people not maintaining & had hazzards. That cabin/house is darling.

so_P_bubble

I never heard of flooding in Sweden. I know they spend a lot of time on the water and even have a little yacht to go around the islands. Aviv and mom spent three days like that in one and loved sleeping while floating!

FlaJean

Enjoyed the photos, Bubble.  The little yacht sounds so interesting.  "Sleeping while floating"—-blissful!

JeanneP

My Texas family had a houseboat on a big lake in Texas. Had ssmall boats anchored to it. When stayin I always slept on one of them. Loved the rocking that the waves made during the night. Can always sleep good when near water.
Bubble . Now how long your family going to stay? Won't school be starting soon? Ours all eent back yesterday in my area.

All schools start September 1st in Israel. They are coming back on the 23rd via Istanbul. Tomorrow they are moving to Copenhagen for four days.  I'll probably get more photos :)

angelface555

School starts Monday the nineteenth here however many students are hunting or fishing, preparing for winter so many cities, towns and villages traditionally don't see the majority of students until mid-September.

I've really enjoyed seeing their vacation photos!
