Good Morning Everyfriend!  Annie woke me early with her scratching.  I guess today is the day I have to call the vet.  She is so itchy that she has spots of hair scratched off her behind and her tail!  I tried a couple of home remedies but they only last an hour or so and she's back to itching.

We woke up to a mist rain and temps in the mid 50s not supposed to get above the low 60s today with heavier rain predicted to begin late morning.  I like the temps and we really need the rain but I do not like to drive in storms!

We're up and attem early this morning because of Annie's itching.  I also have a dentist appointment later this morning and a couple of errands to do on the way home!

I hope you all have a lovely day!

Good morning everyone..

Nothing important  to  do today other than meeting a friend for coffee  after I take hubby out for his. We will just pop over to the store down the road ,then I will head into town to meet her. She has fabric for me and I have books, plants and a few other things for her. Then home to clean  out more drawers.
Jenny, I am sorry things didn't work out for you this time but will soon. We go tomorrow to hear the results from the oncologist .

Lloyd, wise decision to share that candy.the odd piece won't hurt you but I bet it sure put a smile on those young ones face.

Gloria, that was not nice, hope they can give you more warning next time. We have a fellow here that went to have surgery but since he was on antibiotics , it couldn't be done so home he came.

Phyliss, that is all one can do ,put one foot ahead of the other. Hope today is a better day for you.

Roley, thank you for the stroll.....love these.

Better get ready for the day..

Enjoy your day everyone.

Good morning everyone, 49° cool this morning, yesterday almost turned on the AC. My son came yesterday with the last of the season tomatoes from his garden. Yummy, I will enjoy every bite knowing there will be no more till next summer. Wish there was a way to keep some through the winter to enjoy a tomato sandwich. I know about canning and freezing but no matter they cannot beat biting into a fresh picked one.

JANE  I did relax yesterday, does no good to get worked up about something I cannot control. Got good news from my DIL yesterday, she is coming this morning to cut my hair and boy does it need it. Much too long for me and since I cannot use a blow dryer or curling iron anymore I sure look like an old witch about now. Hope you remembered the milk yesterday, that is something I make sure I never run out of.

ROLEY/PETER  nice seeing you this morning. I will enjoy your new walk when I finish reading the posts, I always enjoy watching all the walks you give us to enjoy.

JANE  yikes you posted after 8:AM then Roley posted and the next post was from you after 8:PM 12 hours with only 1 post in between. I know I do not post as often as I used to but life here is pretty dull lately so nothing to talk about.

JENNY  I don't think I mentioned your new avatar yesterday. She is a beautiful girl, loo older than 9 years old. By the time she is a teen Dad will have his hands full keeping the boys away. Sorry you cannot have the trip to see Jonah like you wanted. As the saying goes-things work out for the best. We got out flu shots here last Friday, glad that is over for this year.

LLOYD  hope you got more sleep. I know I woke too early this morning but that's OK.

JANE  we had some rain yesterday and today is to be cloudy and damp, sure not my kind of weather.

AMY  the scan is now scheduled for tomorrow at 10 AM but I will call this afternoon to find out if the insurance came through first. If not I think I will forget the whole thing.

PETER  beautiful church, thank you.

Have a good day.

Once again.....Where is everyone?  I posted at 6:30 this morning and there have only been 3 posts since that time.  I listened to Roly's bell ringer and read what Lloyd was up to and followd Amy's adventures and then nothing!

I've been to the dentist and he's sending me back to the oral surgeon for another biopsy of some tissue that has collected where I had a couple teeth pulled about a year and a half ago.  Makes me a bit nervous but they didn't find anything the last time so there's hope that it's still OK.  However, I'd appreciate a little prayer when you think of me.

I got all finished with errands and chores today and when I sat down on the sofa after supper, the zzzzs grabbed me!  Now I'm all zonked out and ready for bed  Tomorrow is another Wally World day.  I hope it's a good one.

I wish all of you a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow and I pray that God is looking after you....ALL!

Forgot to mention that we had rain all day.  Kind of dreary but much needed so I can't complain.  The temps stayed down in the low 60s and high 50s all day!

Also forgot to mention that I finally got to the Amish farmstand again and got so Honey Crisp apples.  I paid $2.50 for what would have cost me around $7.00 at the grocery store.  And they were right off the trees, not right off the truck from Oregon.  I had one for lunch and it was uum uum good!

Jane ,glad you got to the Amish store..tomorrow I hope to pick up some apples on our way home from a road side market.

Good morning everyone, well it is morning and 48°. I should still be sleeping but have to be out of here by 9 this morning. Finally going for the CT scan, have to fast for 4 hours before but I do need  something in my tummy before the fasting starts. Guess 1 piece of toast will hold me till I can really have something solid to eat. My DIL was here yesterday and cut my hair. Boy did I need one, now it will look decent again for a couple of months.
Better get a move on and get the toast and then into the shower.

JANE  my son went a picked apples a few days ago and brought me a bag full. Some Honey crisp, cortlands and some empires. A nice mix of flavors for an apple crisp and applesauce.

Have  a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone..

We are off to the city to meet with the oncologist for the results of the CT scan. Each time I say everything is going to be ok but it sure doesn't stop one from worrying.

Yesterday Kyle raked up the pine needles as we bagged  4 huge bags to take to the dump tomorrow. Still need to tackle the garden so maybe that will be a job for Sat also.

Shirley , Joy and Phyllis are amongst the missing......hope all is well with them. Mary Ann hasn't posted in a while either..

Better get a move on.

Enjoy your day everyone..

Good Morning Everyfriend!  We're up and moving.  The doggies have been out and had their morning pill.  Now they're waiting for the boinger and breakfast.

AMY, it wasn't the Amish store where I went yesterday.  It was a farmstand.  They still trust people.  Everything was clearly marked and it there was a place to leave money for whatever you took.  It's a busy place.  Someone was just leaving as I arrived and another man finished up as I started.  When I left someone else pulled in.  I think they must do OK.  They not only have produce, they also have flowers.

AMY, prayers go with you for good news!  Let us know!

I missed our friends, too and was hoping all was well with them and they just had it other things to do.  Sometimes we just get busy...or sleepy....or interested in something...or company comes.  I hope that's what happened with them and they'll be back today.

I wish you all a lovely day!

I am doing better today and for the first time in over a month I will try to go to the grocery store with David. I'll see what the body and head say when time comes to go.

We hit a 100 degrees yesterday..all time record for so late in the season.  Supposed to have a "cold" front come in late today.  Please, let them be right this time.

Fingers crossed, Amy.

Must get some breakfast and do my exercises....are you paying attention, Jane? ;)

Take care, All.

I'm here, but just.  I had a skin cancer removed from my nose Tuesday and while I haven't felt any effects from the anesthesia I've been tired and doing some sleeping.  Tom and I did go out to lunch Wednesday and ran into friends.  I had a huge bandage on my nose and she wondered if Tom had slugged me.  Of course not!

Other than that, I've computed, trying to find something interesting to do on the computer.  Now I have to see what's going on with Norm's B&T, that's been too quiet of late.

I wish I could go to the Food Markets with you, Jane, we have a Farmer's Market store near us, but Tom is so busy, I don't ask to go.  Besides, it's hard to walk around the store.  But I'd like to get some fresh produce.  On the other hand, I've been happy with what I've gotten via our online shopping.

Phyllis, I'm glad to see you up and around and I hope you can stay that way.

Amy, prayers for a good report for Kyle.

Have a great day

In light of the fact that we CONTINUE to have Squirrel issues, I did have to chuckle when I read this in an email this morning.

In La Jolla area,   a band of squirrels had become quite a problem

The Presbyterian church called a meeting to decide what to do about their squirrel infestation.  After much prayer and consideration, they concluded that the squirrels were predestined to be there, and they shouldn't interfere with God's divine will.

At the Baptist church the squirrels had taken an interest in the baptistery.  The deacons met and decided to put a water-slide on the baptistery and let the squirrels drown themselves.  The squirrels liked the slide and unfortunately, knew instinctively how to swim, so twice as many squirrels showed up the following week.

The Lutheran church decided that they were not in a position to harm any of God's creatures.  So, they humanely trapped their squirrels and set them free near the Baptist church.  Two weeks later the squirrels were back when the Baptists took down the water-slide.

The Episcopalians tried a much more unique path by setting out pans of whiskey around their church in an effort to kill the squirrels with alcohol poisoning.  They sadly learned how much damage a band of drunk squirrels can do.

But the Catholic church came up with a more very creative strategy!  They baptized all the squirrels and made them members of the church.  Now they only see them at Christmas and Easter.

And not much was heard from the Jewish synagogue.  They took the first squirrel and circumcised him.  They haven't seen a squirrel since.

Hi! Just stopping by to let you know that I have not forgotten any of you.  Just have not had much to say and having some lazy days. I know things here a little slow, so I know I should make myself heard more than I have been doing.

I had a good night, but was still so sleepy when I first woke up. So, I went back to bed.  That will mess up the rest of the day.  It is a pretty sunny day, but has gotten a lot colder.  But, will I know I can't do anything about the weather.  Then I read for a little while and fell back to sleep, again.   It seems when I do get on the computer, that does tend to wake me up.  I just got something to eat, and realty need to get a few things done.

My son just called a little while ago, and he was upset as he had to put his horse down this morning.  He has had that horse for a long time and he was pretty upset. So, that didn't help me feel much better, either.  Always sad when you lose an "animal friend".

Do hope all the friends here will have a good day.

Good Friday morning to EVERYFRIEND.

AMY, I thought about you and Kyle during my non sleeping time last night and certainly hope and pray that Kyle will get a clean report this morning🙏

My non sleeping had quite a bit to do with the fact that Brian and Cathy we flying back to the US from Hong Kong.  I just got the word a few minutes ago that they have landed in San Francisco, so this mama is relieved.  They still have the last leg into Denver to go, and we can not wait to see them.  They had a wonderful time but boy have they missed their Doodle Oliver.

GLORIA, thinking about you as well.  Thankful you will get your scan today.  I know you must have felt awesome yesterday after your hair cut!  Best wishes for a good report from the scan.

Yesterday my best friend was in town and we went for a nice brunch to celebrate her recent Birthday.  When she left home she forgot her shoe bag, so after we ate we went to a couple of stores to try to find her a pair of shoes!  She finally had to buy one that she was not that thrilled with but all she had to wear was a pair of open toed sandals.  We came back to the house to chat then all three of us went to dinner at Sweet Tomatoes, her favorite place to eat and where we always go when she visits.  She scored two Birthday meals and she was very pleased.

MARY ANN, I hope your wound on the nose is healing well.  Was this a Mose treatment or might they still be waiting on a  biopsy to know if they got it all? I hope it is DONE and you are through this time!  I know you try not to ask Tom to do extra things for you, but I bet if he knew you would like to go to the farmers markets he would gladly take you.  I understand tho that walking around places like that can sure be a challenge.  Any chance Dot might be interested in going and might drive you?  Just a thought.

PHYLLIS, I hope you do well on your outing today at the grocery store.  I am sure it will wear you out, but hopefully you will really enjoy it.

Oh NO, JOY.  I am sorry to read the sad news about your son having to put his horse down.

We are going to take Oliver to his home, then go to the airport and pick up Brian and a Cathy, so I guess I had better get a move on.  Need to get a little breakfast then in the shower, so I will wish you all a good day.

Jenny, I know you are happy to have Brian and Cathy back in the "good old USA!"  Have a good reunion!

I was told the doctor was going to use the Mohs system, but I don't think the nose is thick enough where he worked to use the Mohs.  The cancer spot was about 1/4" square and I remember smelling burning skin, so I know he burned it out.  The spot now is about 1/2" square and open meaning the skin will have to grow together to heal.  That was my choice, otherwise he would have had to patch it.  Right now I put Vaseline on the cloth part of a bandaid and put that on the wound. It does not hurt and with the bandaid, it looks much better than the large, thick bandage I had on for the first two days.  It was nothing like the other skin cancers I've had in the last 14 years.  Thanks for asking.

Dot does go to the Farmer's Market nearby but she has her own achy problems.  She and I will go to a funeral Monday and she will sit in a comfortable chair at the back and I'll sit up further where I can almost see and almost hear!!!

In November several of us family members plan to meet in Portland MI to meet the new arrival - a boy to be born October 14 by C section.  This is the great niece who went to the doctor and found she was four or five months pregnant!  Her dad died almost five years ago and I hope she'll name the boy something after Tim.  I don't wish for much, do I?  Of four 2x greats, only one has a family name and it is of his mother's side.  But, at least it's a family name.  And since he is a boy, he should retain his last name of Tock.  So far we have Avery (girl), Johanna and Eleanor (old names on purpose) and Isaiah (Biblical).  The last family also is expecting in November.

I'd better quit!

Mary Ann, we both have Great Great Nieces (according to my chart that figures such things) named Johanna and Eleanor.  Mine are 3 month old twins and are to be called Jo and Nell.  Saw pictures of them at the Amarillo funeral and they are darling. They have two older sisters ages 5 and 3 and their Dad seemed a bit overwhelmed.

Jenny,  I understand the worrying when family is flying over the ocean.  So glad Brian and Cathy are back on this side!
Have you seen pictures of the two wildfires near Salida and Vail?  Terrible!!!  One article said smoke from the Salida fire might reach Colorado Springs and that I-70 was closed in both directions west of Vail.  Hope none of your family is affected.

If I knew how to post pictures, I'd share two of Miss Emily, who has received her first business cards from the Cleveland Chiropractic College in Overland Park Kansas where she is one year away from her Doctorate.  I knew there was a "white coat" ceremony (she got that a year ago) but had never heard of one for Business Cards.  Apparently, she is now a "clinical intern" and can begin accepting clients in the college clinic.
Her parents went up for today's ceremony.

No "Ditto" for today!    Weather was cloudy and almost chilly this morning - so I began what I plan as a 3 day project.....cleaning annuals out of flower beds and replenishing bird feeders.  I've accomplished 1/3 of the goal

An e-book I'd had on Hold has appeared in my reading list.  Guess what I'm doing the rest of the afternoon.  :study: and probably

Mary Ann

Callie, our twins are Jo and Ellie.  Even though they are not identical, they look much alike.  It is easy to tell them apart because Jo has curly hair and Ellie does not.  We have noticed a wave at the bottom of her hair, but it will not be curly.

Maybe getting a Business Card is another step toward being a full doctor.  How thrilling for Miss Emily.

Denver

I am SO happy to be home tonight.....We got Brian and Cathy home tonight safe and sound, but the day had way too much excitement than they ever wanted.  When on the plane taxiing out to leave San Francisco they were told they were going to have to return to the gate as the6 had a maintenance issue.  Then a bit later they announced they would not be returning to the gate as the problem cleared up.  GREAT.  As they were nearing the Denver Airport the plane pulled away and circled around a couple of times at which point they were told to prepare for a emergency crash landing! They went over all of the safety information about the oxygen dropping down, etc., and how to lean forward and brace yourself and to make sure you had no scarves or anything hanging on you or sharp things that could cut the emergency shoot.  Then they told them not to worry as the emergency vehicles would be there to greet them and that every thing would be OK.  Then the entire flight crew started chanting BRACE BRACE BRACE BRACE until the plane landed and all was well.  They had to sit there and wait for the emergency vehicles inspected the plane then they were allowed to go forward to the gate......quite a frightening experience needless to say.  We were all just so thankful that everything turned out OK....

AMY, I am so thankful to read the news that Kyle is clear of any cancer🙏🙏. Prayers answered❣️ Go to bed and sleep well knowing your prayers have been answered.

Yes, CALLIE, we have been watching the news about the fires.  They are so frightening.  I saw the picture of Miss Emily on Face Book.  Sweet.  None of our family are in Vail right now, but the fires are ver6 concerning.

I wish you all a nice evening.

Good morning everyone.

Foggy and frosty here this morning..

Yesterday was a huggy day. Started off by stopping to get Kyle a coffee to go. We have met and talked with the 3 gentlemen that stop there in the past. Each time we meet I give the Dad a hug, this time we were leaving and they were just pulling in so I backed up and kidded him about trying to get out of a hug. He gave me such a hug and a peck on the cheek while the other 2 looked on.!! The Dad in his 90's used to drive the son but both are not able and thankfully they have a friend that brings them out.  Then after meeting with the Dr we went to the Chinese buffet where I got another hug from the lady that runs it.While eating a man came over to our table and gave me another hug, my cousin and his wife had also chose to eat there. Have enough hugs to keep me going a grinning like a Cheshire cat!

Today is to take all the bags of pine needles to the dump, laundry and maybe baking..depends on how the energy lasts.
Jenny, oh my what a ride , that is one they won't forget in a while. How is your Dad doing?

Better get ready ,days sure fly by on us anymore.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I was tired and swamped yesterday but a good nights sleep took care of the tired and the rest is pretty much done.

The overnight temps got into the mid 30s overnight and are not much higher now. I have the heat on for the first time this season.  It sure feels good!

JENNY, two things...I glad the young 'uns had a safe landing.  That must have been a harrowing experience!  Also, I loved the squirrel thing.  However, I'm an Episcopalian and I don't think we're a church full of heavy drinkers.  In fact, there's a bottle of wine in my kitchen that's been there at least two years.  Maybe I should go drink it so I can live up to my church reputation.

YAY KYLE!!!  Celebrate, I'll throw in a bottle of wine!

PHYLLIS, I'm happy to see that it was busy-ness that kept you from posting.  I hope your outing to the store was a rewarding one.  You're probably tired but that can be remedied.  Put your head back and your feet up and RELAX!

MARY ANN, heal fast and no returns.  If you lived close enough, I'd take you with me to the Amish Store and the farmstands and markets.  Since I can't do that, tell me your favorite produce and I'll buy it and eat it in your honor!

JOY, you can have as many lazy days as you want but don't run them all together so you get used to them.  That might not be good.  I sympathize with your son on his lose of a favorite horse.  It's never easy!

CALLIE, my congrats to Miss Emily on her recent achievement.  She must be a very bright young lady!  I wish her well!

I was amazed at all the posts.  Maybe it has something to do with me.  When I come in, there's nobody here.  When I don't come in you all post.  Should I take offense?  Are you trying to avoid me?  What can I do about that?  :2funny:  :2funny:  :2funny:
