Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Amy, she uses both shelves. One for relaxing and one for the view.

Patricia - I had to laugh when I saw the pillow and the robe!  Same exact arrangement on my desk chair, that I'm sitting on right now! ;D  I can see that Farrah enjoys that window.  Is that a wall phone? I thought I was the last hold-out with a landline wall phone.  Mine's in the kitchen.

Thanks Amy and thanks Marilyne. That isn't a wall phone but an intercom. In the open vestibule, a visitor can look up your apartment on a wall computer to call for entry. You have the right to allow them into security, deny the call, or refuse them entry. Security further vets them before they can come further inside or use the elevator. All packages or mail is left in the security/ maintenance office. If the tenant has a TV, which I don't, you can watch a closed-circuit viewing of the dog park or other three building entries.

Security, maintenance, or the landlady can call you directly to speak with you or to leave a message. It's similar to the Jeffersons old TV show.

Not the last, Marilyne, I still have wall phones... my husband was a phone nut but I wouldn't let him replace MY wall phones that I have 25' cords on so I can use both hands when talking!  My son tells me they may be a cause for some of my phone problems, with their very old technology getting tied to the new. I don't want to think about it.

Patricia, love your nook... right now I am spread all over the house because I don't know how to combine things. Long story & I'll spare y'all the details. I need to get some empty boxes up from the basement to put in a near empty dumpster for trash pick up in the morning. I planned to do more yard clean up but got side tracked with "organizing for winter/snow" season. Once again I bit off more than I could chew & waiting on a son to come bail me out. Too many reasons I have to stay here, but think I am getting closer to that time. It is a struggle to keep up with what it takes to maintain house & yard, but I'm not ready to give up cats. Anyway, thanks for the photos, Patricia.... love your world, great size of those shelves. EDIT: Not a wall phone but modern technology! Great security.

Amy

Count me in with the wall phones, I also have one in the kitchen plus one downstairs by my cutting table..

I am another one who won't give up my landline phone.  I do have a cell phone that I take if I am going out, but don't use it that much. I am usually always with someone who has a cell phone, so don't hardly use it at all.

I think what I have is technically a landline, but we changed Internet providers and are not connected to AT%T so if the power goes off, so does the phone.  I also have a cell phone/TracFone and I use it so seldom, it loses its charge.  If I go where I know I'll need it, I try to remember to charge it the day before.

Don, our neighbors had a similar phone only I think it was smaller.  Our first phone was a candlestick type.  Long, long ago.

Lots of things built 100 years ago still work; it's the ones built a year ago that do not work!

When I was a teen I lived with my Grandmother who had recently retired from many years with the local Post Office.  Her youngest sister, Aunt Grace, was also a widow.  During the summer when we were home from school, Aunt Grace called her every afternoon.  My sisters and I hated that as boys liked to call us during the day--and Grandma and Aunt Grace talked for hours!

However, Aunt Grace's only daughter died in child birth while I was still young.  Her only son was active in the U.S. Navy during WWII.  He had a scooter he'd made up in Aunt Grace's attic and she let us use it up stairs.  He was on duty to the U. S. Navy, driving a P.T. boat into the horrible German army fire from the beach.  He survived that offensive business, but many, many Americans died on that beach.  Thank goodness the American Army finally prevailed!

I hope everyone looking in has plans for family dining tomorrow.

Sato, how nice to see a post from you.  How are you and Mrs Sato?

Today was our Thanksgiving Day and most of the people on S&F were busy eating the goodies that were prepared especially for the day.

Patricia, I didn't even try to solve that puzzle, but I could figure it out from your answer.

You said it was in Post #7766 - I don't seem to get post numbers any more.  I wonder why. --- Oh, I just found the number but it's so faint, I never have noticed it.
