Lori and I went to the Independent Living Center today, had the tour and lunch. She was pleased with it.  John is calling it Zombie Land, so don't know what that bodes for the future. I also went to the consignment store to see if they would take my gown from Thomas' wedding. They did take it but weren't very enthusiastic and I won't get a smidgen of what I  paid for it, but it's better than nothing.

It's been raining cats and dogs all day, so not a day to drive all over creation, but I let Lori drive with her Google maps. We sure didn't go the way I would have, but we got there and safely. It was sure nice to have someone taking care of me and getting my walker out and all.

Sorry Marilyn on the font. I just have senior moments and forget to enlarge the font.  I've had so much on my mind between health problems and if and when and how we would move to the Independent Living, I'm not always on top of things. I'll try to do better.  Have a good trip and a Merry Christmas with your son and his family.

Jane, I'm glad you got to Ohio safely and wish you a peaceful Christmas, if not merry.  I think about you frequently.

Thank you, Darlene, and same back to you.

Hi Mary. Thanks for the directions. I was going to give them too. Hope things are going well for you.

Bubbles, thanks for taking care of us and HAPPY CHANUKAH!

Merry Christmas to all! Sharon

Merry Day before Christmas, Every Buddy!  I'm still sitting here in my P.J's, but have cleaned up the kitchen and will shower shortly.  Tomorrow Tim will pick me up and take me to his home where we will have Christmas Day together.  Kris is still in Ohio visiting her brothers' families with her Mother.  I need to wrap a few more gifts this morning but otherwise I am ready for the big day.

I hope Every Buddy has family to visit with and enjoy.  Merry Christmas, Every Buddy.

Good Christmas Eve to all the Buddies!  It's a very foggy morning here in east central Ohio.  My niece and her two girls will come up tonight when she gets off work...she's a recovery room nurse and this is a very busy time for ortho surgeries, so she may be late getting here.  She must stay until the last patient can be moved out of recovery to a room for the floor nurses to take over.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!  Have a blessed holiday.

Good morning, Every Buddy.  I've just resized to size 7, but don't see a difference in my print.  I must be doing something wrong--which is not unusual for me.

I hope everyone is feeling well this morning and enjoying Christmas morning.  Tim is cooking Christmas dinner for the two of us.  Kris and her Mom have gone to Ohio for Christmas with their family there.  He'll be over about 11:00 to pick me up to go to his home.

I have tried to increase my font size, but so far haven't been able to do that.  If you have any suggestions with a remedy for me, please feel free to let me know.I haven't been able to change the size.

Merry Christmas!

Sue, try to highlight your text and click on the red A with arrows and there click on 4. After that, post.
When you do the highlight and #4, you should see that the coding [ size=4] appears before your post and the closing [ /size] will be at the end

JeanneP

Sue. Yours looks a little larger but not a 7. I will leave mine at 5 now as 4 was to small I think. I could get by without my glasses if most posting this size. same when reading a book. I can't stand glasses on. Don't need them for TV are driving.

Good morning, Every Buddy.  I've opened size 5 and hope it is easier to read.  If not, please let me know and I'll try to go higher.

I have been busy this morning dismantling my Christmas tree.  I have all the ornaments off and boxed, but need to fold up the tree and get it into the box and back into the Utility room for another year.  The next time Tim comes over he'll put the ornament box back into the attic for me.

Tim brought my noon time dinner yesterday.  Kris was still in Ohio with her mother, but had left a gift for me which I opened.  She should get home sometime today or tomorrow.  Tim brought me a large box of books to read, mostly written by Lee Child, David Baldacci, and John Grisham.  I was still involved with a Western shoot-em-up so will finish that today and will start on these books.  When I go to the library on Friday with Eddie, I'll probably only get a book or two as it will take me a while to read these new to me Child, Baldacci, and Grisham titles.

I hope Every Buddy has had a lovely Christmas with family and friends.  Special thoughts go out to Jane.  I hope you've had a good time with your family.

I hope everyone is recuperating nicely after having a good Christmas day.  It was a lovely unseasonably-warm (70*) day here, the family was wonderful, the food was yummy, and we all got to try out some of our new goodies.  Safe travels for those who are on the road.

SharonE

Sue, you have to type between the brackets for the size to take affect.  It sounds like you had a nice day yesterday with Tim and got your favorite present.  I've read a lot of Grisham, but not the others. John has though.

We had our breakfast and exchanged gifts on the sun porch yesterday, it was so warm. Not many gifts exchanged really. Lori and I had bought me a new HP laptop on Friday, so that was my gift from John. I just got him a couple little things, including a frame for his ruby duplicate certificate. Lori, we gave a framed picture of us taken at church. Same for all the adult kids. Lori cooked a standing rib roast, mashed potatoes, corn, and heated up the saved loaf of French bread Brian had made extra for TG. Brian sent me some risers to put under my sofa because it is so low for me to get up from.

Today, John took Lori to the airport. and then about lunch we started cleaning out one of the linen closets and deciding what was fit to pass on and what to donate or throw away. We also got the hall coat closet done.  Unfortunately, that still leaves a lot to do.

Mary, I came across a box of 2 new goats milk soaps. I seem to remember that that is what you use.  I don't use it, but if you would like them, I will be glad to send them your way. I seem to remember you had trouble finding it.  Let me know.  It looked like you had a wonderful family gathering.

Jane, I hope you did as well, although some members obviously were missing. When are you coming home?

I miss Lori already. She is such a go-getter and helps out so much.

Marilyn, when are you coming home?  I hope you and Keith had a great visit and holiday with Gilbert and Savannah (?).

We haven't even started on undecorating yet. We're going to have to decide what to keep and what to give away. Always difficult. Have a nice day.  Sharon

maryz

Sharon, thanks for the thought about the soap, but it wasn't me.  I don't remember who might have mentioned that.  When we decorated for the holidays, it was always the "undecorating" I disliked about it.  Oh, well - that's been a long time ago.  Glad you had such a good visit with Lori.

We spent Christmas at a casino here in town , we went for brunch & stayed for a bit . I played the slots , Norm watched .  I put in $20 & came home with $57 ! The food was okay on the buffet but I didn't eat much . I skipped dinner & had a slice of toast with peanut butter & a 1/2 glass of milk . Lately most food isn't appealing .

maryz

alpiner, we all spend holidays the way that suits.  My oldest will be seeing her kids at their homes this weekend, so she and her husband went to the movies.

Did y'all know there was a solar eclipse yesterday? Not seen in our part of the world.  But look at this fabulous photograph from "Astronomy Picture of the Day".

Thank you, Mary, for the photo of the partial eclipse of the moon.  It wasn't visible here (at least I didn't see it!).  It always amazes me to see what the Universe has in store for us if something like that shows up in my neighborhood!

I hope Every Buddy who is traveling has a good time with family.  And that the remainder of your holidays are lovely.  Safe travels to all who are traveling!

Marilyn

Hi every Buddy. We arrived back  home yesterday about 5PM. The trip down   was great and beautiful but we didn't arrive in Eureka until after dark and it was raining as well. I got lost looking for the hotel then again  lost trying to get to Gilbert's house after that. I will never be driving after dark again any place other than home. My eye Dr told me not to drive after dark anyway.

Christmas eve at Gilbert's was wonderful. He  cooked Lasagna, Eggplant Parmesan and a Broccoli and cheddar Quiche. Not  from scratch but frozen.

Christmas day at Jeannie's had way too much food and desserts. There were  lots of us there and ate what we could  taking home some of the leftovers. Gifts included, fleece pj's socks a Therapy dog t shirt and socks, a cookie jar, cookies, candy, zucchini bread, chocolate cake (for Keith), a wireless keyboard (for me), wine, Jam,Keith got me a pretty cross. I think that's it.

I did post some pictures on Facebook. Now to hook up my new keyboard.

Hi Gals, my new computer arrived. Now I have to take both computers to the Geek Squad to have them transfer everything. I am just too stressed to do it myself right now with surgery looming and a possible move.

Marilyn, it sounds like you had a wonderful visit with all the family. That is what it's all about. We talked to all of ours and of course, Lori was here. We don't exchange much in the way of gifts, but my computer was something I needed and Lori helped me choose it.  I think you are wise not to drive at night any more. I have a couple times recently, but I'm not comfortable with it.

Mary, I could have sworn you could only use that soap because of an allergy.  If it was someone else on here, please speak up and you will receive it.  Someone must have gifted it to me and I put it in the linen closet and forgot it. Thanks for the link. Fun to see.

I had to go to the lab for a urine sample and a metabolic profile this AM.

I hope Jane is having a nice time with her family and a good trip home whenever that is.

Alpiner, congrats on your winnings.  I'm not much for casinos, but to each their own.

Sue, hope you are keeping busy and happy.  Have you read Turow? John loves his detective books and IDENTIFICATION, the current book he's reading is his favorite so far.  Sharon

Good morning, Every Buddy.  Tim came over on Christmas Day with his home made Potato salad and a vegetable casserole.  We opened our gifts and enjoyed the meal together.  Then yesterday, Eddie, my young friend who takes me to Kroger and to do other errands on Friday, came to help me with my grocery shopping.  When we brought the groceries home, he helped me put them away and then we went out for lunch at the Mall.  There is a very large new Country Food restaurant in the mall and lots of choices.  So I had a good meal and NO DISHES to clean up!

Kris is not home from Ohio yet.  She and her mom went up there to have Christmas with her brothers and their families.  I don't know when they are coming home.  Tim and Kris had gone up there in November for Thanksgiving, but Tim didn't want to go again and leave me here by myself.

Not much else to report this morning.  I've cleaned up the kitchen and need to get dressed and out to walk before it rains.  I hope Every Buddy has had a nice Christmas with family and friends.  Happy Holidays!

Sue
