Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

 troponin

Troponin is a type of protein found in the muscles of your heart.

Troponin isn't normally found in the blood. When heart muscles become damaged, troponin is sent into the bloodstream. As heart damage increases, greater amounts of troponin are released in the blood.

i still here, but I may go to Rehab tomorrow.  They've done a lot of tests and I've been poked and proded until I wonder if I have any blood left.  I don't see why I had to wait age 95 to have the most serious illness of my life.

I don't have my computer glasses so I am not sure of my typing.

I'm getting along fine and the nurses and techs are wonderful.  The food is not.  Also I am not hungry and eat because I know I should.

I just wanted to check in and let you know I"m getting good care.

Marilyn, Tom says Kendrick sleeps on my bed a lot.  If I am in Rehab for a couple of weeks, I hope he'll recognize me.

Now I'm going to turn off the computer and try to sleep more .

I miss you all.

Thanks to everyone for your prayers and concerns.

Good evening....I just read a message from Tom Tock and copied it to share here with everyone, but I see you have posted MARY ANN so everyone already is aware that you are feeling better and will be moving to rehab tomorrow.  It sure was great to see your message.  You have been missed and we are praying for a full recovery for you so you can be back home again very soon.

We were out to dinner tonight when our cell phones went off with a emergency warning telling about the imminent blizzard like
conditions. This storm came out of no where and really dumped right at the communing hour, of course.  They say we will be nearly 70degrees on Saturday and Sunday!  Fickle weather!

Have a good rest of your evening.

Mary Ann...
... so good to come in this morning ( 7.30am UK ) and read a message from you, you had us all concerned over you...Just as well you are not hungry then, if the hospital food is " not fine." i bet you cant wait to get out of that building and get home to a " good old slap up meal.."

MarsGal

It is wonderful to hear from you Mary Ann. I am looking forward to seeing you posting regularly again soon.

Great news from MaryAnn. Just get through with your rehab. Get back home gain. Keep eating up even if food not to your liking. Need to keep strength up. Hard on us small people.
animals never forget. I was gone for a long time and my dog sat waiting in driveway. It will use your bed a lot.

Good morning.  So good to see the message from Mary Ann.  Sure hope you won't have to stay that long in the rehab place.  They will work you hard in order to get you back home as soon as possible.  I know you will be a good patient and do exactly what they tell you.  So looking forward to your permanent return.

Maybe Tom could bring you one of the Tuna Melts, that you like so much. I am sure that would taste good.  Take care of yourself.

So good to hear from you, Mary Ann.  Glad to know you are getting good care.  It just isn't the same in Bait and Tackle without you.

Today is a miserable day here in Northwest Florida——cold and damp.  After a rainy and cold night, the birds were flocking to the feeders this morning.

We had really loud bombing this morning.  Sounded like we were in a war zone, but it only lasted a half hour or so.  I guess they have to train in all kinds of weather.

A good day for reading a book or looking at a good movie.

CallieOK

Good Morning,

Sunny and warmer in central Oklahoma today.  I went out to fill a suet feeder and would have stayed on the patio for a while if it had been about 15º warmer.

Daffodils are up but it's too early to do anything else in the flower beds.  I don't think I'm going to try annuals this year.  Son who is a landscape designer planted the three back beds with perennials a couple of years ago and they're now large enough to cover most of the area.  Family planned and planted quite a few annuals for Mother's Day last year but I had trouble maintaining trimming, etc. over the summer.  Pretty sure I will concentrate on patio pots this year.

Went to lunch at Chicken Salad Chick restaurant yesterday.  It's fairly new here and I really liked it.  They serve large scoops of a variety of chicken salads and a couple of pimiento cheese choices. Sides are scoops of various fruit salads, mac/cheese and a couple of soups. Crackers, a dill pickle slice and a cookie come with the meal.

I've been sorting/shredding old tax files and still have a stack on the work table. This year, we can recycle shredded material if we put it in paper sacks and staple them shut.  I've discovered that a large grocery bag will hold a shredder-full and I have plenty of them!

Wishing Everyone an Enjoyable Day.

MARY ANN,  Big hugs to you girl.  Take care.  Rehabb isn't bad bit the food sucks.

Upodate from Tom Tock;

*** UPDATE *** AMA is doing better today but her Troponin, magnesium and potassium levels have not settled down despite medication. We hope tomorrow she will be moved to another facility (Pilgrim Manor or Marywood) to begin rehab to increase the odds of a successful homecoming. This time will help us access what her needs for home care will be and then find time to staff up for it. Jan has been incredibly helpful with this.

AMA is in pretty good spirits, but they are concerned that she still ends up breathing hard with minimal exertion, such as talking with us and a nurse at the same time. Her heart rate is running 110-115 at rest at times.

So continue to pray for peace for AMA and wisdom for the doctors and for Tom and Jan as decisions have to be made about what we are capable of doing ourselves and with staffing at home for AMA.

Amy

Thank you Patricia for the update....will post it on SS

We are finally getting some winter weather and I'm looking forward to spring.

Another quiet day here.  All our family are rooting for Kansas City Chiefs except me.  I'm rooting for the 49ers, if we can remember to turn on the game.😊.  Larry and I are not big sports fans.  We usually watch more golf than any other sport.

Marilyne, I saw some advertisement about a "Kitten (or cat) Bowl".  It shows kittens playing with balls.  That might be fun to watch.  I believe the advertisement was on Hallmark Channel but not sure.

Hope everyone has a nice day.

My son and DIL are vacationing in south FL and were planning on going over to Miami for the pre game doings in the Convention Center.   As much as DIL would love to see the game they aren't about to put out that kind of $$$$.  Personally I think the city would be a madhouse this weekend but that's just me.
It's in the 30's here this weekend but still hardly any snow.  It's been a very light winter.

Mary Ann - I'm thinking about you, and hoping that you're feeling better today.  If you move to a rehab center,  that will be for the better, and will help you get ready to go back home ASAP.  We miss you!

Jean - The Super Bowl will be playing on one TV, and I'll be watching,  The Puppy Bowl, on the TV in the bedroom!  I did see that there will be some sort of "Kitten bowl", so I'll find it, and probably switch back and forth between puppies and kittens!  I cannot stand the violence of professional football, although I do look in to see the commercials.  AJ prefers College football, but is interested in this game, because it's the San Francisco 49er's.

Things are exciting here is California, as a result of the Coronavirus!  Our first case here in the San Jose area, was announced yesterday.  It's a man, who recently came home from a trip to China.  He is being quarantined, along with his family, a nd others he has been in contact with.  Nothing we can do about it, except to follow advice on hand washing, and staying away from crowded places.

The weather has been very nice for the past couple of days.  However, we are now officially in drought conditions, because we got no measurable rain during the month of January.  With the millions of people who live here in the Bay Area, we always need water, which is becoming more and more scarce.    Anyway, we're all enjoying the sunshine and warmer temps!  It was 65 yesterday, and expected to be that or higher again today.  Some trees are starting to  leaf out already.

Today I have an appointment for a haircut, and after that  I'm going out for lunch at a sandwich place next door to the shop, with my hairdresser.  She has become a friend of mine, after 25 years.

Mary Ann

I'm back, but not home.  I'm resigned to being here at least two weeks, at least that was the original plan.  One reason you did not hear from me was that Tom got one computer going, but not the second, then the first one conked out too.

I've had loads of family company.  Last night James, Alicia and the twins came, along with Annie and we had a pizza party in a private dining area.  The girls had told their parents they wanted to see Aunt Mary Ann.  They don't pay a lot of attention to me when we're together, but there are always sincere hugs.  I love them to pieces.  Annie was also with us.

Annie got off to Tulsa today and while she has family moral support, we all are far away.  It is the start of her new life.

Jan and her mother were here this afternoon and Tom came as they were leaving.  Jan has been such a help with her medical knowledge and Tom has been invaluable help.  He brought some personal things today, stayed awhile, got the two computers working, then left for Holland to see Mary.  His other female friend, Robin, has been ill but when she recovers, she'll be here to se me.

A PA came in today and told me some about heart attacks, also things that can ge done.  A therapist also came in had me do some things - like bringing my knees to my chest, walking up three steps and waling down, then having me on a bicycle-like thing to put my feet on it and pushing etc.  After talking with both the therapist and PA, I feel much more encouraged about my prognosis.  After all when you're 95, your future isn't as bright as when you are younger.

I thank you all for your encouragement, concerns and prayers.  Combined with those of friends and Tom's friends, They mean a lot.  I love you all.

I'll try to write often, but there often isn't enough time.

Mary Ann
