Beverly, this minute I  had a phone call from my son in Bangkok.  He told me all the malls and shopping places are closed. Corona is spreading in town :( He checked for me and told me that there are still flights for the US but not direct ones. So the girls should be able to return.
No flights for Italy, nor Israel for that matter. We have closed and locked all the borders.

Shirley

Thank you, Bubble, for resizing & posting my flowers. I have more growing near or behind that brick post, can't see the mini ones from the street or my window so I just bring them inside. I never thought about y'all seeing my pitiful grass out there. The neighbor had their yard dug up & replanted last year so has been getting constant care ever since. A few of the neighbors have had that done over the years but doesn't last but a year or so before the other types grass & weeds move in. Can't be helped because of the long hill down to the river that hangs onto all those weeds. Cas used to work on this yard constantly so he/we could host the Easter egg hunt. Not at the top of my to-do list. Thanks again, Bubble!

Posting for Mary Ann

Johanna playing the piano

Do we have a young prodigy amongst us Mary Ann.., Bubble, thank you for posting on Mary Ann's behalf...

Mary Ann

Johanna (Jo) has a twin (Eleanor - Ellie) who also has red hair but hers is mostly straight.  Jo is nicer to the piano than Ellie is, but Ellie bangs more than Jo.  The girls were three earlier this month.  They are Tom's granddaughters.  Knowing the girls liked the piano, I bought the keyboard for them for their birthday.

Somehow or other the picture turned up on my screen as wallpaper and I have no idea what I did.  But what a nice thing to see first thing in the morning when I turn on the computer!

Mary Ann...
... your screen is guaranteed to put a morning smile on your face...

Shirley

She is darling, Mary Ann. That looks like a nice keyboard, too. When my 3 were little I found a big old piano very reasonable, for them to learn on. I knew just enough to give them a start and found a "cheater" chart that taped across the entire face above the keys so help them follow music (that came with the piano bench.) When we built the new house my husband didn't want that heavy thing on the new floors so sold it before we moved in. A later bought a keybord that fell apart almost immediately. The kids didn't take to it so only got used by me, never replaced it.

My little red head is now connected with her grandparents and kindergarten friends by iPad or Kindle... something the stay home parents can watch. She is excited about having that much contact with others. I think the grandparents that have been taking care of the kids all their lives are broken hearted to not have daily contact. I always thought (since I had twin aunts) that being a twin would be the best life could offer. They had each other and died in their 70s, a week apart, the first from cancer and the other from heart that just gave out. Now we are pretty sure it was this valve that they didn't have a way to diagnose "back then". Do you see yourself at all in the girls? Such a cute age. My aunts were "mirror twins", one right handed the other left.

Thanks for posting, Bubble, great job as you always do.

Mary Ann

Thanks,  Shirley, for your remarks about Johanna.  She is so far down the line from me (they're 2x great nieces) but I see resemblance to Tim, Tom's older brother.

I have the old family Steinway, built in 1891, and have refused  to give it up but as it sits in the family room, no one plays it.  The girls don't get up here often, but when they do come, I let them play it.  Jo is quite gentle with the piano.  I think when children have access to a musical instrument when young, they're more interested in learning to play it.

MARY ANN, what a little cutie!  And she's really concentrating on the keyboard.  Maybe she will keep her interest.

Good Morning everyone. Is very instring to see the little lady playing the Keyboard. when I was six years old I took Piano Lessons. but all I relay learned was the middle C cord. But I have forgotten how to do it either. and my hands are so stiff I couldn't do it either anyway. I have a granddaughter that plays very well. she mostly plays by ear, she hears a tune by someone else and dose it great. she plays for her church bunch, and us when we get to gather at her folks. there is a bid piano there that we bought for her mother that hardly play's it. we sure enjoy her playing at get to gathers. we have fog big time today and rain though night. Have a good day,

Lloyd

Bubble - Have you heard any more from your son?  I'm wondering how he'll get along with everything closed in Bangkok. My daughter and the girls should be in Boston about now.

What a sweet picture of Little Jo at that keyboard.  She is precious and those curles are beautiful.  The gift of the keyboard 🎹 was a wonderful gift to them.  I do hope Ellie will start to show more interest in it as well.
