Seems like now on the Desktop I can get into the S and F.. Some of the forums are still showing me as the last person writing and goes back a few days and so I could not understand that.
Was 81 deg. here today. The whole town was like nothing was happening even though the numbers going up on people coming down with it and also dying was up to 4.
All the motorcycle people out so noise back in my area again. Now my daughter in another town said that she went to Lowe's for her garden stuff and place was packed. Lots without masks.  I am still going to play by the old rules  for a couple of weeks more. or as long as it doesn't look like going away.

Sue. good thing that you went and saw that they had painted wrong colour. I remember when we had our first home built. We left on a month vacation and it was almost finished. Came back and they had switched the colours of the tiles and floors between the Bath room and Kitchen. Kitchen had tiles up 2 walls suppose to be a light green and the were this dark blue. My husband was not good at complaining and let me handle the whole house. building. Contractor told him that I was really a hard women. So I just told then. Rip all out and do it right. I still can't
except when things are done wrong. Now if I do it its O.k.

Now I still can't get into S and F on my IPad. I will play with it tomorrow. It must be the Safari Server that is the problem. I couldn't get Firefox to be the Server either.
Suppose to storm tonight and get colder and so better close the windows.

Good morning, Jeanne and Every Buddy looking in.  I've been up for a while, had my breakfast, but my newspaper has not arrived yet.  I like to read it before I do anything else.  My paper is delivered by a young man who does not live near me.  I don't know if he is ill or the newspaper is just late.  I'm hoping that all is well with him.

I'm going to work in the yard a bit today.  I am embarrassing the neighbors who have especially clean yards.  Most of them have a yard service.  I do most of the yard work by myself.  Sometimes when Tim is over he will get out my lawn mower and cut the worst of it.

I hope Every Buddy is feeling well this morning and that you have a nice day.  Take care Buddies.

Sue

It's a lovely morning here in Middle Tennessee, but it's supposed to storm later on today. The @#$%^ squirrels knocked the bird feeder on the ground this morning. Bird seed all over, and of course they were gorging on it. Nothing I can do about it - just have to wait until the next time Margaret is here - or the groundskeeping folks are here. The birds haven't given up, though.

We're allowed out to walk in the halls again, but not go outside - except in the enclosed courtyard.
Got to find me a new knitting project again. I could just work on finishing the socks I started ages ago.

Sharon, glad you were able to get the painters to fix their error, and are finding places to sell or donate things you can't use.

Jeanne, From what I've read elsewhere on this site, Chrome seems to the one browser that is working well. When I got this laptop a couple of years ago, the tech guy at the store recommended that I use Chrome. I hadn't done so before, but on his recommendation have used it since. I've been pleased with it.

Sue, glad you're still able to get outside, even if not to the store.

Marilyn, it's good that you had some fun times with your friends. A little extra wine occasionally can certainly be a good thing.

jane, glad you're finally getting some spring-time temperatures. For a couple of days, we've actually turned into summer. We supposed to be back in the 60s though by the end of the week.

Hi to Darlene, alpiner, and everybody else checking in.

Good morning, Every Buddy.  I've been up for a while and Tim called about a half hour ago.  He is not coming over today, but just wanted to know if I needed anything before that.  Bill called me last night and we had a nice chat.  Jon was working yesterday--he drives for Uber and although they don't live downtown, he drives to the train station and picks up fares for New Orleans.

Not much else going on here today.  I need to get outside for my morning walk.  I'll probably spend the rest of the day catching up on my laundry.

Have a nice day, Every Buddy.

Jeanne...I don't know what it is with Michael's server where this website is, but it's suddenly not liking IPAD.  I've tried both Safari and Chrome on the Ipad and neither can find Michael's server.
I am here with Win 10 and the Chrome browser.

Sue...with so much virus there, you're wise to let Tim do your shopping.

Mary...at least you can get in the halls and courtyard.

Marilyn...good to have a friend to visit for a little "me time" for you.

Beautiful day here, too...in low 70s and sunny.  I just finished a walk to town...my 1 mile walk and I've had breakfast and cleaned that up.  I'm going to take my iPad and sit on the back porch and read and watch the pretty golden finches at the niger feeder.

Rain tomorrow afternoon, so I'll get the last 3 of my geraniums in pots and out for that and do my laundry that's accumulated.  Sunday is my day off from work.

Take care and stay safe and healthy!

Quote from: SCFSue on May 01, 2020, 10:48:40 AMAlpiner, I'm sorry to hear that your daughter suffers from depression.  I am praying that she may get some relief soon.  I have had a few depressive incidents, mostly while my late husband was flying far away and I had 3 young boys to raise by myself until he could get home again. Life is not easy when someone in your family is depressed.  Thoughts and prayers for your daughter and I hope she will feel better soon.  Take care of yourself, too.  Worry about our children never seems to leave us!

Sue
Daughter's first husband commited suicide , second husband tried to kill her . Youngest son died a few years ago , he had a granite & tile business & worked without using a mask . His older brother was so distraught from losing his brother he drank himself to death . Daughter is now married to a very loving , kind man .

SharonE

Alpiner, no wonder your daughter has been depressed. I'm glad she found a good new husband.

I'm pretty down myself right now.  My sorority friend who was fighting liver cancer, passed away the 28th. I knew it was coming, but it doesn't make it any easier. She is the first of my close HS/college friends to pass.

I'm still working and organizing.  Will it ever end?

Marilyn, glad you got out for some fun. and Jane, glad it's warming up for you.

Sue, please be careful doing the yard work. Look into getting someone to do the heavy stuff yourself.

Mary, get a baffle and put on the pole to keep the squirrels out of the birdseed.

Hi to Darlene and anyone else I missed. Stay safe and healthy.  Sharon

jane

Alpiner...I'm sorry for all your daughter's losses.  My niece had two abusive husbands and her oldest child, a son, was in and out of drug rehab and then murdered just a year ago.  No chance, we're sure, they'll ever get the murderer.  So, I have a faint idea what your daughter is dealing with.  I'm glad she's getting help and now has a loving partner.

It is a perfect spring day here...the birds are flocking to the feeders...esp. the gold finches... 8 of them at the moment... and they are so vibrant in the spring.  The Canada geese were very noisy on the backwater, but they seem to be having a siesta now.

I had a very restless night, so I suspect I'll be heading into bed early tonight.  It really makes no difference...everyday is just like the day before.  I often have to stop and think what day it is.  I did call Ray's 96 yr old sister this noon to see how the Chicago family was.  She's dealing the same as the rest of us.  Unfortunately, she's in a second floor condo with no elevator and since her fall on the steps a couple weeks ago, her daughters don't want her going down if one of them isn't there.  She does have a deck that opens off her kitchen so she can sit there and enjoy the outdoors.

Take care, stay safe and healthy,

jane

Good morning, Every Buddy.  I've had breakfast and cleaned up the kitchen, but that's as far as I've gotten.  I had a call from my local bank yesterday and they are closing all accounts.  I need to get Tim to take me to that bank and help me remove the money I still have there.  I hope he will have time to help me do that.

Not much else going on here today.  I hope Tim will be able to come over and take me to the bank to solve that problem.  I was shocked to receive a phone call from the bank telling me that they are shutting down.  I have another bank here in town where I use their services and hope that they will continue to do so.

I hope Every Buddy will have a good day.  Take care, Buddies.

The packers are here. They have all the Salvation Army stuff boxed and part of Jonathan's and and all of the girls', they are now starting on our things that we won't use in the next 2 weeks.  There are 4 of them and they've only been here 2 hours! They know what they're doing.

SA will pick up Wed.  The packers will take all the kids' stuff to storage today and will be back the 15th to finish packing and loading and unloading ours. I'm so glad we decided to have them do it.  It is a small company owned by one of the packers, so he has a reason to do it right.  We've had such bad luck with big companies and even 2 Men and a Truck.  John's in charge and everything I say, he says they know what they are doing. Hope he's right.

Sue, how shocking that your bank has closed! I hope the other one can pick up the business.

Jane, your niece had a lot of reasons for depression too.

I need to get going now.  Sharon

Sue...I can't imagine why your bank is doing that. Be very careful.  I'm glad Tim will go with you.  Here, if a bank has problems, some other bank buys them out and things continue without interruption.
That's what FDIC is all about.    Here our bank LOBBIES are closed.  Everything is done through the drive through or ATM.  IF you need to get into Safe Deposit Box, you call and make arrangements for that.

Sharon...hurrah on the movers doing their thing for you.

Much colder and windy here and rain to come.  My joints are a mess.  I have an appt for tomorrow to see my Nurse Practitioner for advice on what to do for the carpal tunnel that has returned big time...esp in my right hand, but also in my left.  I'm definitely a recliner potato today.  Laundry is the only "chore" I'm doing.

Take care and stay healthy.

jane

JeanneP

Goodness. What a time for a bank to just close down. Not heard that before as all are suppose to be FDIC.How can one get their money out if they are closed. Can you just do a transfer by writing check and forward it to another bank?
Jane. I still can't get my Ipad to bring up Emails or S and f. It will not let me use firefox on it. Always been Safari
Desktop seems to be O.K. still have to sign in every time on S and f though.

Jeanne....nobody I know can get on with iPads, including me.  Michael has been told, but he says he doesn't have an ipad to try and figure out why his server is blocking us all out.  I'm here with Win10.
Michael is the only one who can fix this.

Darlene is one who can't get in as she has no laptop.  I asked her to try her phone, if she has a cellphone with internet.

She asks me to post this for her:  ".all is well with me...using mask if I just have to go out...hope everyone is doing great...take care
"

It's a cold 42 and rainy here.  I'm off to the doctor in a bit to hope for some relief for these hands.

Take care and safe healthy!

SharonE

Glad everyone is doing okay and staying safe. Jane, hope the NP has the answer for your carpal tunnel. Vit B6 really helps me.

I slept in this morning. John's doing odds and ends and went to Walgreen's for their 20% sale for seniors. SA postponed pickup till the 12th, so still lots of stuff in our garage.

We had bad storms last night, so Bunny started crying and came up and slept with me. I think she has only done this twice in 12 years.

Have a good day everyone. Sharon

maryz

Sharon, glad you're able to get back in to S&F. Moving is SO hard - in so many ways. Hang in there.

jane, I had carpal tunnel release done in Jan 2019. Done by a neurosurgeon, and was a piece of cake, about 10 minutes in the OR, no stitches - only some steri-strips that fell off in a day or so, and completely took care of the problem. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Hope yours is an easy fix, too.

I had some blood drawn this morning by the Home Health gal - let in by the facility. I'm scheduled to leave the building next Monday for a doctor appointment. We'll see if that happens.

Happy Tuesday to all the Buddies!

Good morning (although almost noon!) from here in Auburn.  I stayed up late to finish a book I was reading and will be behind on everything I do today.  Bill has been sending me Naval Novels written by Patrick O'Brien.  Some are familiar, but most are new to me and I'm enjoying them. I plan to walk outside shortly and won't be reading until after lunch.

Sharon, I hope your move will continue to work well for you.  Keep us posted and try not to let it wear you out!

I'm going out for a walk and will wear a bandanna over my face.  I don't usually see anyone else walking except for the young girl walking the family dog.  Most of my neighbors who work leave home early in the morning and very few are even near my age any more.

Sharon, I hope your move continues to move along.  Be careful and don't lift anything heavy!

As for my bank closing, I have since learned that the bank is making alterations and will be open shortly.  I nearly panicked when I first went to the bank and no one was there!  I have enough cash to tide me over if I need anything before they finish the alterations.

Have a nice day, Every Buddy.

jane

Sue...good heavens.  They couldn't let their customers know they were remodeling?
 Isn't their ATM working?

NP put some pressure on my right wrist and I about jumped off the table.  So, I came home with horrible braces that hurt and have an appt for therapy tomorrow at 10.  I hope she can show me how to wear these things.  I hope I don't have to do more...the nerve test sounded unpleasant as well as possible surgery.  Mary...good to know yours went so well.

It's cold and windy and rainy here...miserable day all around.

jane

maryz

jane, the test wasn't as bad as I had feared, either. Also, I was afraid the problem was due to my horribly arthritic neck, and I might wind up having surgery on that. That really scared me, so I was thrilled when the doc/technician said it was probably carpal tunnel. That was a MUCH easier fix.

Such a horrible day today. Fact been storming for 2 days now. Sort of makes one depressed. I keep jumping from thing to thing. Fact I just took a nap. I slept 9 hours last night. Seem to be sleeping a lot more these days . Use to be would keep awake thinking of what should be done next day but now as stuck in the house not need to do that. Illinois still not opening much up. Not like some of the states are. Our Gov. making more sense to me. Seems to be the young ones that are up in the air about things being closed down.
I do need to go and pick up my BP pills. I just hope that we don't have a problem getting these. All seem to be made in China. Mine are not that easy to get anyway it seems. Always have to wait 3 days to get them.
My furnace has been running all day.

Good morning, Every Buddy.  I hope all are well and not near someone with the virus!  I am staying home except for morning walks when very few walkers are around.  I wear a bandanna over my face when out walking.  Most of my younger neighbors work outside their homes, but some are able to work from home.

Not much else going on here today.  I am going out to walk down the hill which is about 3 blocks long.  I haven't seen anyone else walking when I'm out there.  I'm trying to avoid anyone who might be walking at the same time.

I hope Every Buddy is well and able to get out of your homes for some exercise.  Take care Buddies.

I had to go to pick up med today and then stopped at walmarts. I thought I was getting tired of staying in the house but after today I will be happy to. What a awful feeling now in the stores. Everyone wearing a mask and some just bandana covering faces. People suppose to stay 6 ft and going down marked isles. Talking so loud. I got enough to last awhile so will be more content at home now. They were stopping people who were trying to come in without a mask on.
Was warm today but they say by tomorrow night it will be down in low 30s. Be so many people with colds that they will be taking it for the virus. My alergies kicked in so I am sneezing a lot. Would scare people.

I still can't get in from my Ipad. I played a little with it but it does seem to be the Server someplace. Safari.is messed up I think. You would think that Apple would be saying something.
JeanneP

JeanneP

It looks like this has happened before on the Safari on IPad. I tried to find something for the week but all goes back to 2019

Safari browser is seriously messed up after 13.1.2 Update

Hi everyone, without checking first to see that the latest software update for my iPad which is 13.1.2 is stable, not full of bugs and was not going to mess up my iPad, I decided to get the update yesterday.

Now having got the update, certain websites that I use for studying etc will not properly load/display in the safari browser. If I give an example of a website that I use, the size of the website page content is all now messed up and I'm having to constantly zoom in to adjust the size and non of the links/buttons work on the website.

What I've had to do as a temporary fix around the problem is to download and install Google chrome on my iPad. Would have much preferred to continue using Safari tbh.

Can Apple please look into this issue asap and get it resolved and return the Safari browser back to how it used to be before the 13.1.2 update. I have the 12.9 iPad Pro 2nd generation. Thanks

Hi Buddies....testing to see if this post..CC

SCFSue

Good morning, Jeanne P. and Darlene.  It's 11:00 a.m. here and although I've read the paper, had breakfast, and am now on line, I haven't accomplished anything else.  I want to get outside to walk and will do that shortly.

Tim and Kris came over yesterday to check on me and to look in my fridge to see what I need.  I think I'm fine, but Tim always has an idea of what he thinks I should be eating!

Bill sent me a box of food with goodies in it and I've been eating chocolates when I think about it.  I think I might be gaining some weight!

Not much else going on here today.  I have about 10 Naval novels written by Patrick O'Brien and will read one of those when I finish my daily walk.

It's a bright sunny day here in Auburn.  I don't expect to see more than one or two people walking when I'm outside.

Have a nice day, Every Buddy.

Looks like we are back in s and f on our IPads today. Still on a couple other sites strange things happening . I think it is a safari problem.

Not made a start yet today. Need to go find a birthday card and then staying home. This virus got to another 5 people in my area so staying in more.

HURRAH...so good to see our Darlene here and Jeanne on her ipad.  I'm on my laptop, but will check my own ipad when I finish here.

Nice day, but as Jeanne said, to go down below freezing Fri and Sat nights...so will need to cover my geraniums in the ground and bring in those in my hanging baskets and pots.  That's about all the "flowering" I'm going to do, at least for a bit.  I've got these *&^% hand splints on both wrists and have exercises to do, and feeling grumpy? :crazy2:

Take cared, Buddies, and stay healthy!

SharonE

Hi Gals. Glad to see Darlene back with us and Jeanne on the Ipad.  But most of all am glad everyone is healthy.

I haven't done a lot today. Mostly phone calls and a few computer forms. Been playing the rest of the time. Next week will be busy and hard, but not the rest of this week. We did go through the fridge and freezer to throw out anything we won't be using--not too much. Then John went to the grocery, so a low key day.

Stay healthy everyone.  Sharon

jane

Good Friday greetings.  Sunny and bright out but to get to freezing tonight.

PT has the wrists really hurting...esp. the right one.  I'm icing it down now after an exercise they prescribed.  Guess I'll be a leftie for a bit.  ::)
