A good day to EVERYFRIEND💐

Wow, lots of good news in here to read today.

PHYLLIS, what a nice surprise that the tooth was able to be glued in and saved you a even bigger expense.

GLORIA, happy your eyes are better.  You did not tell us who got to eat the one last piece of Blueberry Pie?  Inquiring minds want to know! 😘

JANE, I am smiling at the thought of you being able to drive again🥰. I hope the test drive went well! HAPPY you can finally take your stuff to the charity store....we need to do the same thing as ours have finally opened up here.

CALLIE, sounds like you had a very productive day, and how nice to be able to go out to lunch with your son.

SHIRLEY, I am feeling badly for you as you deal with the darn bites!  Ihope you can get something on them to help with the itching😤

Have a wonderful Friday.

Lloyd, if you want photos in you need to e-mail them to Bubble (look back at where she posted for Amy), we aren't supposed to post a photo any place but over in Photos.... I've been sending mine to her most of the time because she does a much better job resizing than I do... and as long as she is willing~~~~~  click on her photo and you can see her e-mail address. She is so kind to do this for us and put a link back in here so everyone can "hop over" to see.

Weather guessers saying we will have this HOT & DRY  weather for at least 7 more days. My grass is already looking dead so must get sprinklers fixed & use that well water!

Good news about that tooth, Phyllis.... and Callie, I'm going to make a trip to Braums for a "twisty"... chocolate & vanilla frozen yogurt cone... I kid you not, my little red car turns into one of those shops without me even pointing it's nose!

Matter of fact, sounds so good I may have to jump into little Red & go make me happy!

CallieOK

Shirley, I can see a Braums from my back window. Might try running a cable with a basket to the drive up window if I didn't have to ford a creek, chop through heavy underbrush and fight off all the skeeters and critters in between.

Shirley

Glad I don't have one that close, Callie, for sure could just roll me over! Have I mentioned that it is super hot today?

well it has been a easy day here, but it is time i bid you all sweet dreams and good night. our daughter and grand daughter came by today, the daughter Mowed our yard,
and grand daughter helped us stare lining up things to put In a sale, that we are going to have. gave some furniture to daughter and grand daughter. grand daughter and her husband are going to sell there house and move in with us. we both think is thing to do for all of us. we have over 4,000 foot of livening space, on two levels. will be good for us all.we are all reasonable easy to get along with, and their children are well mannered and behaved, mined good and gentle, do not have to raise voice to get there attention. just hope the court goes along with us as good as they did. getting rid of our star border. and getting our place back in our name. my advice too you all is think things out well before you leap and get things in writing and registered with the court system and notarized. will save you lot of grief and $$$. see you all tomorrow.I am off here and taking my shot and night time pills. good night  all.

Callie & Shirley, I too love Braums.  Love their milk especially, but am a bit put out with them because when they switched to this new A2 Milk, they did away with their 1% milk, which has been my "go to" in the past.  Was recommended when I went to Cardiac Rehab Classes on Nutrition.  I always thought the 2% as well as the whole milk had an oily taste in the mouth.  (Maybe just me).  If either of you like Tamales, Braums carries a package of a dozen, for either $3.99 or $4.99, which is a lot cheaper than the grocery store, (they give you 6 for $4.99) and the Braums ones are delicious.  You can get pork, beef, or chicken tamales.  I steam them and have been known to eat 3 or 4 in one sitting, no "sides or additions" just the tamales. They are good sized, not teeny little things.  Yum!  They are not overly spicy either.  I guess I could put some chili on them, but when they taste as good as they do, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!! LOL. It's 11:17 PM here right now, and I have made myself hungry.  Will have to go to Braums tomorrow for tamales. (Where'd my healthy eating get off to?) :-[

Gloria

Good morning bright and early. almost 3am. What e lse can I expect when I fall asleep early at night.

SHIRLEY  i AM NOT GOING OUTSIDE FOR SOME WALKING EXERCISE, THE SUN TOO HOT.. oOPS left the caps lock on again. I would not want to pass out in the heat in the middle of the parking lot. I think in the 24 years since I retired I have set my alarm twice and that was for early appointments. Have you tried vinegar or alchol on those bites? It stings a bit but takes itch away on me.

PHYLLIS  I know what you mean about watching someone's mouth when they talk. I have been doing that for years and lately thinking of getting my hearing tested. So far I have not had the AC on all night like that portable one. This window one cools great and at times I put a sweatshir t over my shoulders and back. Love it, keeps the bedroom cool, too.

JANE  I have not had any lilacs since I moved here and I do miss their scent. I still miss not having a car and the independance I had but I keew it was nonger  safe for me to do so.

LLOYD  I saw some roadrunners one time when I visited my daughter in San Diego.  Odd looking bird.

CALLIE  my eye doctor told me to use a clean wash cloth and get it wet with hot wate  r and keep trying to put it over my eye till coo enough to take it. It helps the feel but every time it hapens seems to take longer to clear. Amazing how Yvette does those Domestic Dutes for me in 2 hours 5 days a week.

JENNY  Yvette and I split that last piece of pie.

SHIRLEY  remember how BUNNIE was called the picture lady? I sent her some of mine till she talked me into trying a free trial of PSP, I sure got hooked on tha and loved it for several years. Last weathe r I heard last night was for almost a week of hot but low humidity. Can take that.

TOMEREADER  I have lived in New England all my life and being a Yankee never had a tomale.

Have a good day everyone and keep safe.

Good morning everyone..

I will take this kind of weather clear onto winter time. Temp is 40° ,sunny with a light breeze blowing.

Laundry today and work about in the house. Have some pastry I should do something with also.

All the wood is now piled with just one more load to come and that is it!!

Gloria , that is way too early to meet the day...hope you can find some zz's today.

Shirley, we used to make a paste of baking soda and put on the bites.

Callie, you just reminded me that I need to pick up ice cream today.Just finished the last bit on bread pudding.

Phyllis, happy to read it was an easy fix along with not hurting your wallet too much.

Joy, hope everything is good your way.

Better get a move on here,

Enjoy your day everyone stay safe.

Good Saturday Morning to EVERYFRIEND 🦋

Another beautiful morning here, but it is going to get HOT today.  That means the conditions are ripe for afternoon thunderstorms and that can mean the dreaded  H A I L 😩

AMY, I am curious if the amount of wood you get each time is what we call a "cord"?  That would be 128 cubic feet or 8 X 4 X 4. When you get it all stacked would you mind sharing a picture of your hard work?  I would love to see it.  Hope your laundry day goes well....I can almost smell the line dried items 😘

GLORIA, smiling at the thought of you and Yvette sharing the piece of pie 😘 Such sweet memories of Our Bunny......so many wonderful friends that are no longer with us makes me sad😩 Hope you have a son or two to drop by for a visit today😘

We do not have Braun's in Colorado 😩, but I would be there today to buy some of the tamales if we did......hope you do get out to buy yours today, TOMEREADER. SOUNDS so good to me!

LLOYD, I hope everything will work out for your granddaughter and family to move in with you and Nancy.  Having younger ones around to help out sounds like a great idea.

No plans for the Day in particular....just the same ol do this, do that!

Enjoy your day....

JaneS

This has been one very eventful day!  Christy and her husband arrived around 7 on Friday night and we were planning to be in the strawberry field at 8 a.m. this morning.  We got there a few minutes before 8 and the place was busy already.  We got our assigned place and it took us less than 45 minutes to park, wash hands, get our containers weighed, pick all the berries we wanted and then pay for them.

We came home and Roelkey (pronounced relky) made us a special brunch (bacon, eggs, special potatoes and toasted English muffins)  When we finished eating we did the job that brought them here in the first place.  Roelkey wanted to learn how to make strawberry jam like mine.  We got all set up and I supervised while they made a batch of jam.  And hey have enough berries for another batch to be made at home on their own.  And I have enough berries for a batch of jam for me!  I reminded them that they had to made sure to include the special ingredient or it wouldn't taste as good....LOVE is the special ingredient!

Now for the bad news...We lost my brother-in-law last night!  He's the one I never referred to as a BIL.  He was always the "big brother I always wanted".  We all know that he's in a better place and that he's no longer in any pain but we already miss him terribly.  Maybe when you think of it you could say a prayer for JIM!  And maybe for MARGIE too because she's going to be lost without him!

The kids will be back soon so I better get moving and get some stuff done before they show up!

I'm sorry that I didn't comment on anything that anyone said but my mind is a bit of jumble right now.  I wish you all well, free of bug bites, tamales in the fridge, ice cream in the freezer and love all around.

CallieOK

Janie,  my sympathies and prayers for the loss of your brother.
Sounds as if you have had A Fine Day otherwise with your family.  I'm amazed at the amount of strawberries you were able to pick.  That must be a huge farm!

Tome, Braum's hadn't yet been established in Texas when we moved here in 1977.  I used to tease a good friend in Amarillo that the only reason they came to visit was so she could go to Braum's. She was SO delighted when one was in Amarillo.
Don't know when it went to Kansas but when #2 son lived in Colorado around 1994-97, he used to take an ice chest back with him when he came to visit so he could stop at one in western Kansas and stock up.

I'm okay with the A2 milk but am most upset about the change in the fruit flavored yogurt. A friend told me several years ago about using fruit-flavored yogurt on dry cereal instead of milk.  I told my doctor and he recommended Braum's yogurt "with no sugar added".  (I have to watch carbs because of blood sugar issue). So I enjoyed strawberry, strawberry-banana, blueberry, peach and black cherry flavors, each of which had 15 carbs per carton.  Perfect for my breakfast carb count with toast and peanut butter (diabetic dietician's recommendation for protein)!
About 6 months ago, the strawberry and strawberry-banana no sugar flavors disappeared completely.  More recently, blueberry and peach became the only ones with 15 carbs.  All the others have 35.  The Braums farms are just southwest of OKC and I'm tempted to send a letter!!!!!

I do enjoy the Braum's Market and have been able to get quite a few fresh veggies, frozen entrees, meat, etc. there.  I don't care for Mexican (I know, I know...."how could I live in this area and not...." ;D )but was delighted to find the seafood and chicken salads and packages of four salmon filets.

This has been a lazy day.  Last night I made oven fried chicken fingers and am pretty sure there are a few left. Might combine them with the  spinach/artichoke dip and bruchetta in an edible Parmesan bowl I brought home from lunch out with son on Thursday. That will qualify as protein, carbs and veggies, won't it?   ;)

Tomereader1

Callie, I actually called Braums to put in my two cents about the 1% milk.  At this time, "we don't have any plans to re-do the 1% milk".  I probably knew that before I called, but one of the cashiers at my store, told me to call.
I didn't get there today to get my tamales, but tomorrow for sure.  As I texted my BFF, today I was self-defining "ennui".  Could get interested in anything; reading, TV, cleaning.  But boy did I have some nice naps!

Gloria

Good morning everyone, a nice cool one here of 54  and low humidity. Love it, No AC running but 2 fans going. With the sun hitting here all afternoon it does get warm/hot in the afternoons.

AMY  like you I can take this weather all year, well maybe one beautiful snowfall in winter and rain at night when we need it. I am a dreamer I guess. Like you my daughter did her laundry yesterday. So windy that when she hung the second batch out she took the first batch in. I used to love hanging the clothes on a windy day, always seemed much softer, especially in winter when they froze on the lines but the wind blew them dry and smelling so fresh.

JENNY  my younger son comes every Saturday. He and his older daughter opened their pool yesterday. Late with it this year but it just getting warm enough to start enjoying it.

JANE  my son went by the farm yesterday before coming here and they will have their  strawberries in the beginning of July, really late this year with the crazy weather we had. So sorry about JIM. I remember you saying he was your brother not just BIL, He has had health problems a long time but still sad to lose a loved one.

CALLIE  I never had Mexican food until my daughter made tacos when I was visiting and I could live  without them.

TOMEREADER  after waking too early yesterday I spent most of the afternoon napping and slept great last night.

PHYLLIS  JOY  LLOYD    hope you wake full of energy today.

Have a good day and stay safe.

Good morning everyone.

Lovely sunny morning here, temp is 35° F at the moment.

A day of rest here, just have to uncover the plants in the garden as they were calling for frost last night.

Jane, ask your daughter if she tucked her pumpkins in  and no I didn't kiss them good night. :2funny:  They are coming right along too.

Gloria, we have a fire on this morning, middle of June and still burning wood!!We will let the fire go out now and hope that is it until fall.

Jenny this works out to be a bit more  , he is generous in his loads. What you are describing is a bush cord...some here will also sell a face cord  which is 4'x 8' x 16". Yes, I will send photos when all done.

Callie, Rosemary, why is it that once we enjoy a product they either  change it or take it off the shelf? We have that problem here with tea. We like King Cole that is made on the east coast and could get it here but now the stores have stopped bringing it in. This is a good strong tea ,better than Tetley .

Better go uncover the plants..

Enjoy your day everyone...stay safe..

Jane, I'm sorry for your sadness.  I know how much you will miss him.

Yesterday was beautiful here, too, and it is nice this morning but "they" are telling us this coming week will be gray and rainy all week.  Oh, well.....in to each life, etc. etc.

The strawberry jam sounds wonderful.  Our strawberry season here was not as good as it usually is.  Too much rain and a couple of frosty nights at the wrong time.  I had some of our local strawberries and they were good but we've had better in other years.  The blueberries are really good right now and I am enjoying them so much.  North Carolina blueberries are exceptional and we've got a lot of them.  Some of the local farmers grow them in "high tunnels" so the weather doesn't bother them too much.  I ordered more to be delivered by Papa Spuds on Tuesday.  And, I've got some cucumbers coming, too.  It's time to make some "icebox" (refrigerator) pickles, I think.

Hope you all have a good day.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  It was a busy, good, working and taxing weeked.  I slept well last night and the Marylanders left early this morning.  I've got the sheets washed and in the dryer and I'm thinking of taking a snooze while thy dry.  And if I sleep through the buzzer, so be it!

Thanks for the nice thoughts and comments about JIM.  I know he's in a better place but I miss him so much I have to keep reminding myself.  And every time I think of him, the tears come.  I think the tears are fo Margie and me, not for him because he's OK now.

Gonna go close my eyes and see what happens!

I wish you all a happy day!
Make it your own in every way!

And remember to share it with your friends!
